Why do I get "Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'"?
Basic trouble-shooting 101: If the literal strings work, and variable assignments don't, then suspect your variable assignments; Something could be wrong with one of them, such as an invisible character. Try: vars = ('localhost','root','admin','one') Mysql.new(*vars) Then try: vars = %w(localhost root admin one) Mysql.new(*vars) or: host, username, password, db = %w(localhost root admin one) Mysql.new(host, username, password, db) or: host, username, password, db = 'localhost','root','admin','one' Mysql.new(host, username, password, db) The idea is to start with what you know works, and work backwards until assigning to variables works, or it breaks. At that point you've either fixed the problem (possibly without knowing why), or you've learned what broke it. Either way you'r

Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
Start mysql client in the console and execute this query: select Host, User from mysql.user;. You MUST have a row like this: +----------------+------------------+ | Host | User | +----------------+------------------+ | localhost | root | +----------------+------------------+ a row with "localhost" in Host and "root" in User. If you don't have it that's the cause of your problem (it doesn't matter if you have other rows with "root" in User) If you don't have such row, add a new user with this: CREATE USER 'appUser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'appPassword'; Change 'appUser' by 'root' if you want, but I strongly suggest to use another user. Then add permissions to your new user by executing this in the mysql client: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES O

Can't open database on 2nd user account, error EACCES (Permission denied)
The second account seems to have no rights to write to /data/data... Correct. So, what can be done about it? I am guessing that you hard-coded a path. If so, do not do this. Use getDatabasePath() to find the proper path to the database for the current user. Is there a folder which can be used to share data between users?! Not that I am aware of. Even external storage is separate between users. In effect, separate user accounts on a device are as if those users are on completely separate devices.

MYSQL Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
It was absolutely correct what you did,but I guess not working just for a small thing.You should make identified by the password when you are going to grant privileges like the following example which I did.. mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ONE `*`.`*` TO 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '*A4B6157319038724E3560894F7F932C8886EBFCF' WITH GRANT OPTION; Try this,I hope your problem will be solved.

mysql Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
I've solved this error. I'm posting this because someone could have encounter the same thing as me. The problem lies with the data source. Apparently something happen during the creation of data source. The password parameter is missing. So I deleted the current data source and created a new one again and the problem is solved.

MySQLI 28000/1045 Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
The reason of the error is here: class Routing { public function __construct($route) { $this->users = new Users();//<-? $this->route = $route; } You are not passing a parameter to Users.__construct($db) Define an array with credentials and pass is like this: class Routing { public function __construct($route) { $db = array(); $db['host'] = 'localhost'; $db['user'] = 'venge_main'; $db['pass'] = 'fakepassword'; $db['name'] = 'venge_panel'; $this->users = new Users($db); $this->route = $route; } Or use a global $db variable instead of defining it locally, like I did. But you must pass it to constructor when creating Users object. Error in global.php $users = new Users($database);

mysqldbcopy - Error 1045: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
By looking at the link you provided, I can conclude this - You are using - mysqldbcopy --source "root:&1qqq34rtyy@localhost:3310:/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock" --destination "root:&1qqq34rtyy@localhost:3310:/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock" old:new But the link shows, mysqldbcopy --source=root:pass@localhost:3310:/test123/mysql.sock --destination=root:pass@localhost:3310:/test123/mysql.sock util_test:util_test_copy Conclusions, After --source and --destination, the example in the link you provided have '='. Try with single quotes if double quotes doesn't help. Verify if the port 3310 is correct. Default I guess when you install is 3306. Can you confirm?

TFS 2012 configuration Access Denied: [User Name] needs the following permission(s) to perform this action: View collection-level information
One of those groups has View Collection-level Info set to deny. Open the Control panel, choose "Manage collection security and group membership", select the user and hover your mouse over the "View collection-level info" item. It should say "deny" and a "Why?" should show up next to it. That will tell you which Group the deny value is being inherited through.

SecurityException: Permission denied (missing INTERNET permission?)
[Make sure you read whole answer, incl. addendum at the very end!] Exception you are getting (SecurityException: Permission denied (missing INTERNET permission?)), clearly indicates that you are not allowed to do networking. That's pretty indisputable fact. But how can this happen? Usually it's either due to missing <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> entry in your AndroidManifest.xml file or, as internet permission is granted at installation not at run time, by long standing, missed bug in Android framework that causes your app to be successfully installed, but without expected permission grant. My Manifest is correct, so how can this happen? Theoretically, presence of uses-permission in Manifest perfectly fulfills the requirement and from developer sta

Configure IIS Windows Authentication to return HTTP 403 instead of HTTP 401 for permission denied with an authenticated user
What did not work I tried just about every IIS configuration permutation with no luck. I goofed around with the Windows authentication provider settings, like NTLM, Negotiate, and Negotiate:Kerberos. None of them seemed to do the trick. This isn't too much of a surprise since the browsers are deciding to try authentication again, even though they probably shouldn't. 401 Unauthorized The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.47) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refu

IE permission denied
The permission denied error could be coming from trying to manipulate the DOM before the document is ready. As for the events and formatting no longer working, using JavaScript and jquery to select things can cause issues. When you use document.getElementById it will update the DOM and the rendered page but it will not update the associated jQuery objects. To solve this you either need to re-generate the jQuery object (using $('selector')) and reattach the handlers or try something like $(document.getElementById('objectId')).html('result'); where you use javascript to find the DOM element to avoid the permission error then modify if using the associated jQuery object.

mkdir(): Permission denied
Make sure that: the web directory is owned by the apache user. ("ls -al" will tell you) the parent directory in which you want to create is also owned by this user. the parent directory isn't a mount in which you don't have write permissions the path you want to create is correct (var_dump($dstDir) will tell you) $this->newDirMode is contains a correct permission value. (If you are running on windows this will be ignored) If there is no problem and it still doesn't work I would do: make yourself the apache user and try to create it manually ("sudo -u apache" if your username is apache) try to omit the third parameter 'true' in "mkdir($dstDir,$this->newDirMode,true);" and create all directories one after another inspect the logs ("/var/log/apache" is your friend) Hope this helps.

Permission denied on frame
As far as I understand, you have a custom scripting host hosting JavaScript through Active Scripting interfaces. JavaScript engine uses IDispatchEx::Invoke to call COM objects (whenever IDispatchEx is available, as with MSHTML doc object) and passes its own IServiceProvider to the call. I suppose, that's how doc implementation is aware it's being called from a scripting environment different from its own scripts, and restrict its methods for security reasons (unlike with native code calls). I'm not aware of a documented way to turn this behavior off, but you could try these options: Implement IServiceProvider on your IActiveScriptSite object and forward all service requests to the IServiceProvider you would get from the IHTMLDocument2 object (doc). This may or may not work. Wrap doc wi

You (user marc) are not in group www-data, so you have no write access to the files: myapp_cake_core_file_map myapp_cake_core_method_cache I recommend to delete those files, set chmod 755 for all tmp folders, and let CakePHP to create them. To let CakePHP create tmp files just access any web page of your application, not run console command. If after this you'll need to use cake console command, just add yourself to the group of application: usermod -a -G www-data marc

Permission Denied when writing log file
You need to fix permissions with the chmod command, like this: chmod 775 /home/shwetanka/logs/mysite/mysite.log. Take a look at the owner of the file with ls -l /home/shwetanka/logs/mysite/mysite.log and make it writable to uwsgi. If the file isn't owned by uwsgi, you'll have to use the chown command. Take a look at the username under which your service is running with ps aux | grep 'uwsgi'. If the security isn't so important to you at the moment, use chmod 777 /home/shwetanka/logs/mysite/mysite.log and that's it. But that's not the way how this is done. The safest way to do this would be to check the owner and the group of the file and then change them if necessary and adjust the permissions accordingly. Let's give an example. If I have a file in /home/shwetanka/logs/mysite/mysite.l

GIT Permission Denied on password on push
Turns out this was not a problem with git, or even ssh. The domain owner set the DNS of subdomains properly, but not the main domain. Once I started using one of the sub-domains, everything fell into place. I'm still not sure why the passphrase was authenticated, but many mysteries in life. However some of the below debugging tips helped. for git diagnostics: set GIT_TRACE=1 set GIT_CURL_VERBOSE=1 use -v for verbose on commands. using ssh directly, led me to the problem, especially the -v option: so using: ssh -vT git@domain.com I noticed that the IP address was different, which led to wonder how the dns was setup.

Why do I get a "permission denied" error while installing a gem?
Your Ruby is installed in /usr/local/Cellar/ruby/.... That is a restricted path and can only be written to when you use elevated privileges, either by running as root or by using sudo. I won't recommend you run things as root since you don't understand how paths and permissions work. You can use sudo gem install jekyll, which will temporarily elevate your permissions, giving your command the rights needed to write to that directory. However, I'd recommend you give serious thought into NOT doing that, and instead use your RVM to install Ruby into your own home directory, where you'll automatically be able to install Rubies and gems without permission issues. See the directions for installing into a local RVM sandbox in "Single-User installations". Because you have RVM in your ~/.bash_pro

ImportError: Permission Denied while using LXML
This is not a solid answer. But I will highlight several of the problems involved for obtaining a solution. Most likely the problem above, is like a cancer caused by several factors acting catastrophically together. I have the same exact problem as in the OP, when attempting to use the native Cygwin supplied Python packages on my Windows Vista machine. Being new to Python I have spent several days in trying to get this to work, and understand why it is not working. But all my Google-fu returned nothing but countless dead ends. So here's my take on this. There are many reasons why Python could have trouble under Cygwin, some which you can do something about and some which are beyond most peoples control. What it boils down to, are the following key issues: Windows is a complete mess whe
