How to display an image based on the coulmn value from the database in gridview?
if you have runat="server" you cant use eny logic unless you do it in your code behind file. Change it to img <img ID="Image4" src='<%# (Eval("is_selected").ToString()=="1" ? "~/images/tick.png" : "~/images/cross.png" %>' /> if you want to do it code behind: add OnItemDataBound="GridView2_ItemDataBound" to <asp:GridView> Add this to codeBehind public void GridView2_ItemDataBound(object sender, RepeaterItemEventArgs e) { if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item) { NameOfTheObject item = (NameOfTheObject)e.Item.DataItem; Image image = (HiddenField)e.Item.FindControl("Image4"); image.ImageUrl= item.is_selected==1 ? "~/images/tick.png" : "~/images/cross.png"; } }

Gridview returning empty even when there is data. I want to use data in the gridview to update another database
Per my comment above you may want to do something like: List<string> _OrderIds = new List<string>(); DataTable table = gvOrderLines.DataSource as DataTable; foreach (GridViewRow gvr in table.Rows) { Label myOrderIDLablel = (Label)gvr.FindControl("lblOrderID"); //find control since it is a template field _OrderIds.Add(myOrderIDLablel.Text); } I hope this get you headed in the right direction.

Identify blank tables in a database and insert data from another table on a different database
do you want an exact copy of the database? why not a backup of the main one and a restore with a different name? If not possible, you can use SSIS to move the data or something like: insert into destDB.dbo.mytable select * sourcedb.dbo.mytable you can use your script to loop through the empty tables and run some dynamic SQL to execute the command above

Gridview always add new row when click button?
Here is problem #1 with your code: //extract the TextBox values TextBox box1 = (TextBox)Gridview1.Rows[rowindex].Cells[1].FindControl("txtDate"); TextBox box2 = (TextBox)Gridview1.Rows[rowindex].Cells[2].FindControl("TextBox2"); TextBox box3 = (TextBox)Gridview1.Rows[rowindex].Cells[3].FindControl("TextBox3"); This logic is flawed and not even necessary, because when you bind the grid it will iterate through the collection you supply as the DataSource and use the TemplateFields you defined in the markup to create each row. The rows are not actually added to the GridView until is bound to a data source, a DataTable in your case, like this: Gridview1.DataSource = dt; Gridview1.DataBind(); Step #1 is to remove the FindControl lines from your AddNewRowToGrid method. I am not even sure

Display database content which is last inserted using last inserted ID
In your file insert.php you have <?php print_r($_FILES); $desc = $_POST['param']; echo $desc; .... echo $video; .... echo mysql_insert_id(); You have many 'echo' in your script which print values of $desc and $video and the print_r function print the full array $_FILES before the id inserted. Remove all your echo statements except echo mysql_insert_id (); By the way, try to use mysqli_* method, mysql_ methods are deprecated. EDIT: Remove the print_r($_FILES); statement, to remove useless prints from your insert.php, so only id will be print. To displaying the image, you just have to create a using the img_path retrieved from your query : <?php $temp=$_GET['id']; $host="localhost"; $username="root"; $password=""; $db_name="geny"; $tbl_name

Click a button in VB.NET form to display next set of rows from database
It's a classic question of server-side paging. At the very simplest add WHERE clause to your SELECT statement used in OleDbCommand. For example if your result has some kind of ID - increase parameter for WHERE statement with every btnNext click. So for initial load it would be WHERE ID BETWEEN 1 AND 100 For the first btnNext click it would be WHERE ID BETWEEN 101 AND 200 For the second btnNext click it would be WHERE ID BETWEEN 201 AND 300 etc. Again this is a very basic approach (it could produce inconsistent results if your ID is not sequential) but that's the idea - to limit each consecutive result by some kind of condition.

I have to click twice on the edit button in the gridview
You need to click once to get the focus, then another time to actually perfrorm the edit. A workaround i did for this issue is to handle PreviewLeftMouseButton down in the grid, i test if the element clicked is a row element, then i have it focused and i don't claim the click to be handled.

checkboxes disappear on button click gridview
These controls need to be recreated every single time on Load. In short, dynamic controls in an ASP.NET application lose existence on a post back. You will want to create a List<CheckBox> that you store in Session and use that list to rebuild these controls in Load.

Highlighting a row in asp.net gridview on click of template button
From the code you posted you are nowhere selecting a row. You have to do it if you want the SelectedRowStyle to be applied. There are several ways you can select a row : Using a button/image/link with CommandName="Select" Handle it manually by setting the grid view SelectedIndex from code behind. For example in your row command handler gridContractor_RowCommand you can write : protected void gridContractor_RowCommand(object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewCommandEventArgs e) { [...] GridViewRow selectedRow = (GridViewRow((Button)e.CommandSource).NamingContainer; int intRowIndex = Convert.ToInt32(selectedRow.RowIndex); gridContractor.SelectedIndex = intRowIndex [...] }

Get Checked rows of a nested Gridview on button click
What I'd do is add a CommandArgument to Button4's declaration that will allow me to find the related GridView2. So, I'd use what you're using elsewhere, id1. Add CommandArgument='<%# Eval("id1") %>' to your Button4 declaration. Now, in Button4_Click, you can cast the sender to a Button like so: var button4 = (Button)sender; Once you have button4 casted correctly to a Button, you can access the CommandArgument property. var id1 = button4.CommandArgument; Once you have id1, it's as simple as iterating through the parent GridView, GridView1. Looks like your second column is bound to id1 as well, so you'd do the following: GridView foundGridView2; foreach(GridViewRow gvr in GridView1.Rows) { if(gvr.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow && gvr.Cells[1].Text == id1)

Update SQL Database from GridView TemplateField DropDownLists
The UPDATE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_tbl_Job_tbl_status". The conflict occurred in database "HSE_proj", table "dbo.tbl_status", column 'Status_ID'. The statement has been terminated What this basically means is that this update would cause there to be a FOREIGN Key Violation. There are restrictions on your database that for every item in the table you are working on an item must exist in another specific table. In this case StatusID In the second part of your question: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Job_Department_ID', table 'HSE_proj.dbo.tbl_Job'; column does not allow nulls. UPDATE fails. The statement has been terminated. I would assume this has something to do with nullable fields. You cant have certain fields null so its evidently g

Bind images to GridView from database without using handler or httphandler
Is it possible? Yes. Is it a good idea? Not at all, and here's why. An HttpHandler is a way of providing a virtual URL for the image. This allows the browser to handle the GET requests on its own, in an order that's efficient, and asynchronously. This further means that the initial GET request isn't burdened down with conceivably MB's of images. The idea of a website is that it's more efficient to make a lot of smaller requests asynchronously than it is to make one massive request. Why? Because you're already at a disadvantage to provide the user with a good experience when disconnected from the server. Adding insult to that injury by making a massive request that could take minutes, isn't going to add to their joy.

Improve page rendering time having gridview, child gridview and grand child gridview on it
You are creating way too many grids. A grid is an expensive component. You could alter your user interface to allow users to select an Item and bind the inner grid only on selection. This ensures that rather than one grid per row or parent grid, you will have only one child grid displayed at a time.

Update a database field with value from a textbox using a button, it's showing a blank value
I don't know the details of your database, but a couple of things could be going wrong. Your SQL in response6.php has a syntax error and should look like: $sql = "update stars set approved = 1, starURL = ? where starID = ?"; (i.e. separate with a comma instead of an ampersand) Also, you are not passing a value for starURL in your ajax post call so it will be null when you bind it and execute the UPDATE statement. Did you want to include a value for starURL in your ajax post data, e.g. $.post('response6.php', {starID:id, starURL: 'whatever'}, ... Finally, doing a full refresh of your page is probably overkill. You are using ajax to post a lightweight request and could just do a partial update of your page when the response comes back.

Nested gridview checkboxes are not toggling when master gridview checkbox is toggled
When you run your first CheckBoxAll_OnCheckedChanged you will be running through each checkbox and changing its Checked to True or False dependent on what the CheckBoxAll has been ticked as. This will not cause a postback on the checkbox per one being run. Instead, while looping through the nested gridview you can call the CheckBoxAdd_OnCheckedChanged sub by just passing the object and same eventargs over to it. For example: Sub CheckBoxAll_OnCheckedChanged(sender as object, e as eventargs) 'Loop through gridview here 'When finding the control CheckBoxAdd just call For each gvRow as GridviewRow in gvStudents.Rows dim CheckBoxAdd as Checkbox = gvRow.FindControl("CheckBoxAdd") CheckBoxAdd.Checked = True 'Or false dependent on CheckBoxAll CheckBoxAl

Change the name of column in Gridview on runtime when sorting of gridview is enabled
I'm guessing you're trying to use AutoGenerateColumns? If this is the case why can't you change the column name in the datasource (using "AS" if the datasource is SQL)? Otherwise, your altering the cell text is short-circuiting the ASP.NET functionality which generates the sorting javascript postback. Alternatively you would do this if you don't use AutoGenerateColumns: myGrid.Columns[1].HeaderText = "test1";
