Insert function to insert record in SQL table working properly but Update Function to Update Record is not working properly
Check to make sure that rollno passed to the update function is correct. If the command is not throwing error, most likely it's executing correctly and ending up updating nothing because no record hits the supplied rollno. Put a break point at beginning of update function and check the supplied value of rollno. Also, roll no. in your insert statement is a subset of 's' whereas in update, its provided separately, you may need to check if that's OK.

How to update function imports in MVC?
First, to understand your problem, what you need to know is that the EDMX file is just an XML file that contains 3 different sections: CSDL: Conceptual schema definition language SSDL: Store schema definition language MSL: Mapping specification language The CSDL contains the entities and relationships that make up your conceptual model. The SSDL describes your DB model and the MSL is the mapping between the 2. The “Update Model From DB” process will update the SSDL (change everything that is inconsistent with the current DB schema), it will only modify the CSDL in case you’ve added new things to your DB schema. This is quite a normal behavior since your Conceptual schema may/should differ from your DB schema (unless you want your Domain model to look exactly like a DB model whi

Update function for typeahead
According to the documentation, you just provide a function for source in the options: $("#vahid").typeahead({ source: function(query, process) { // `query` is the text in the field // `process` is a function to call back with the array $.ajax({ // Your URL url: "/foo", // Your argument with the query as its value data: {q: query}, // Success callback -- since it expects the first // parameter to be the data, and that's what the // success callback is called with, you can just // use `process` directly success: process }); } }); The above assumes that the response correctly identifies the response as Content-Type: application/json. If it d

AngularJS : Update A Function In RealTime
You'll need some kind of timer to call the function periodically. If you're looking for something specific to AngularJS, you might want to take a look at angular-timer. You could also look at the ticking clock example here and substitute your momentjs code instead of just showing the date and time.

Cocos2d update function equivalent?
You probably don't want to check something as fast as possible, since that would lead to performance issues. If you want something that updates with the display, you could use CADisplayLink. You can google around for examples, like this one. If you don't need to link it to display refresh, you can set up an NSTimer, or use a variant of performSelector:withObject:afterDelay. If you need high resolution timers, look at this technical note. NSTimer and performSelector both have a resolution around 50-100 ms, which is not sufficient for sound playback. I would recommend you use a separate real time thread with mach_wait_until() as explained in the tech note. Using the code from Listing 2 in the technote, something playing a sound every BEATS_PER_SEC using play_beat(), would look like this

PHP Dynamic update function error?
You have the wrong syntax here: array_values($columns, $criteria) As the array_values() function is called by 1 parameter and you are passing two. So remove any one and pass the array in this function. For more read here: array_values().

PrimeFaces JS function before AJAX update/render
In such cases always look into documentation. Specifically, regarding the ajax-related JavaScript functions of <p:commandButton>, documentation states: onstart: Client side callback to execute before ajax request is begins; onsuccess: Client side callback to execute when ajax request succeeds; oncomplete: Client side callback to execute when ajax request is completed. Note that there is onerror callback: Client side callback to execute when ajax request fails. As you can understand from these excerpts, the succession of callbacks is as it is presented in the answer. Choose the one that fits your needs. Also, it'd be wise to learn about JSF lifecycle.

Meteor 0.6.5 update breaks router function
Meteor router doesn't yet support 0.6.5. It should do shortly as it just has to be slightly modified to work with the new version of meteor containing the linker branch. Why not consider the move to iron-router. Tom Coleman (author of meteor-router) & Chris Mather worked to build it. It is compatible with 0.6.5

Knockout - how to update an computed observableArray before using its value in some function
Instead of having a computed observable and change event binding you can subscribe to the observable that is bound to the checked property. In the subscribed function you can calculate Items array at first and then do your length check: this.val.subscribe(function (newVal) { // update Items array ... // if (self.Items().length > 2) { ... } });

Simple fix... you should create your element inside the event listener: var list = $('#target ul'); $("#target").click(function() { var newItem = document.createElement('li'); newItem.innerHTML = "list item " + (list.find("li").length + 1); list.append(newItem); }); Note: I've replaced the .size() with .length. Sencha Touch: update view during function
I think the main problem here is that your execution task is executing in the main UI thread. In order to let UI thread do animation you need to push your doFancyStuff() function into something like http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2.2.1/#!/api/Ext.util.DelayedTask Keep in mind though, that you would need to revert it your icon only after fancy stuff is complete.

node.js calling a function from script to update UI
You must move that method(with socket.on('data') as well) from the server to the client side. When you receive a message via socket, the p1 element will update its text too. On the server you will still need to have a socket.on('data') to receive the messages from the client. Edit: Here is some code, a little bit changed from my comment below. On server: function computeSomeResults(data) { // your logic here } socket.on('servermsg', function(data) { var result = computeSomeResults(data); socket.emit('clientmsg', result); }); On client: function testSocketData(test) { $('#p1').text(test); } socket.on('clientmsg', function(data) { testSocketData(data); // emit something maybe? } Eventually, you may want to send something to the server: $('#p1').on('click', function(){

Can I use html in the chrome.windows.update function
A "window", in Chrome parlance, is a container for tabs. Tabs contain HTML documents, and you can manipulate those documents using methods like chrome.tabs.executeScript. Windows do not directly contain any HTML content, though, so: no, there is no way to pass HTML to chrome.windows.create (or .update), as a window has no use for HTML.

How to update UI (text fields) during long running function?
Depending on the version of .NET, you can use BackgroundWorker (Pre 4.0) or Tasks (Post 4.0 - 3.5 with an add-on)...to name a few. Backgroundworker Pseudocode: var backgroundWorker = new BackgroundWorker() method { //Update UI backgroundWorker.RunWorkAsync() } asyncworkmethod { //do main logic } asynccompletemethod { //Update UI to say done } Task Pseudocode: method { //Update UI TaskFactory.StartNew(()=>DoWork).ContinueWith((previousTask)=>UpdateUIToSayDone) } And, if you are using 4.5, then you can use the async/await keyword, however that is just syntactic sugar around tasks (mostly...). Servy already has a decent example of this, though if you go that approach

How to update AngularJS model from directive linking function?
You would not want to replace the scope.ngModel variable, but the value that's behind that variable. You did it already when you read the value in the first line of the link function: currValue = parseInt(scope.$eval(attrs.ngModel)) // ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If it's a plain value, like myProperty, you could use that on the scope: scope[attr.ngModel] = newValue But this will not work, if you have an expression-value, like container.myProperty. In that case (and this is the more generic type, you should be aiming for) you'd have to eval the value being set to the scope, like this: scope.$eval(attrs.ngModel + "=" + newValue) I must admit, that the $eval part is a bit ugly, as it is in JavaScript with the eval pendant, but it does the trick. Just keep in mind

Knockout custom binding update function not firing
The update event is not being fired because you're not binding directly to the observable, but to an object containing a property named value set to the observable. How I've accomplished this in the past is to omit the update function on the custom binding and just set a subscription on the observable in the in the init function, like this: ko.bindingHandlers.toggleSwitch = { init: function (element, valueAccessor) { var valueUnwrapped = ko.utils.unwrapObservable(valueAccessor()); var value = valueUnwrapped.value; /// logic omitted for clarity value.subscribe(function(newValue) { console.log('update called'); }); if (!disabled) { /// omitted for clarity } } };
