Why does TortoiseSVN show the "modified" status icon for my working folder if there are modified, yet ignored files? Ignoring config file problems
You cannot ignore files that are already in the repository. Reread that first sentence. Ignoring something in a version control system says to ignore files that aren't already in the version control system. For example, Imagine you have a compilation process that took the *.c files that are in your repository and compiled them into *.o files. The *.o files are simply part of the compilation process, and you certainly don't want them accidentally added into your repository. If you ignore *.o files, and you did a svn status in Subversion, Subversion won't report on those files. If you did a svn add *, Subversion won't add those files to your repository. That's what ignore means in a version control system. If you modify a file, and you don't want to change it when you do a commit, you ha

Query on last modified time without a last modified column
You simply put it in the WHERE clause: SELECT PID FROM PRODUCT WHERE SCN_TO_TIMESTAMP( ORA_ROWSCN ) > '${dih.last_index_time}' However, your two queries are not equivalent. From the ORA_ROWSCN documentation (my emphasis): For each row, ORA_ROWSCN returns the conservative upper bound system change number (SCN) of the most recent change to the row in the current session. This pseudocolumn is useful for determining approximately when a row was last updated. It is not absolutely precise, because Oracle tracks SCNs by transaction committed for the block in which the row resides. This means that if you modify one row in a block then the entire block (multiple rows) will have the same SCN. If you want your query to be exact you need to either add in your LAST_MODIFIED column, or

Prevent dll from being modified
I'd say you'll be better off moving any anti-cheat functionality to the server side, or if it's not a multiplayer game, then don't bother trying to stop cheats at all. One thing you could do though is generate a hash of your DLL and check it in the application code against a known value or against a service or website. You could also use the hash value of the file for some other tasks as well essentially forcing the hacker to extensively modify the game code not just the anti-cheat function. That may deter people. But the comments are right, with enough time and resources anything is hackable, you just need to make it not worth the time.

Modified PHP MD5 gives different hashes
Setting aside for a moment the fact that what you are doing here sounds like a bad approach what ever the actual problem is that you are trying to solve, here is a direct answer to the question. As I already outlined in a comment above, the root cause of the problems you are having is that PHP has no concept of unsigned integers, and it handles this by converting numbers that overflow the bounds of an integer to floating point (which doesn't play nice with bitwise operations). This means that, on 32-bit systems, your code won't work correctly, as MD5 works with unsigned 32-bit integers. You will need to ensure that your code is "binary safe" - so that all numbers are represented as if they were unsigned 32-bit integers. To do this you will need to re-implement the addition operator, a

Need Value Of Number To Be Modified
I got $result = floor(100*ceil(($_POST['val'][$i]*0.05)*9)/9)/100; Stepping by 0.11 should be by (roughly) 1/9, not 1/11. multiply the post value by 0.05 multiply by 9, round up (ceil), divide by 9 to get our actual value truncate the decimal by shifting the decimal point right two positions, cutting the remainder off, and shifting it back. Edit: Thanks Greg Hewgill for the catch; replaced round with floor function. It seems that PHP doesn't have a truncate function, and casting seems messier than some more number shifting.

how to save modified ELF by pyelftools
According to the author @eli-bendersky, pyelftools is a module for parsing and analyzing ELF/DWARF files and it has no direct way of modifying them. I had a look at the module source files and could not find any methods to edit/save either. On the introductory post, within comments author acknowledges that pyelftools has no API-level support to do this but some tinkering around can help achieve what you need. If pyelftools is not a hard dependency, here's an example on how to do the same using elffile: import elffile eo = elffile.open(name="/bin/ls") eo.fileHeader.shnum = 30 with open('./ls.bin', 'wb') as f: f.write(eo.pack()) Using readelf, you can verify that changes were saved correctly: readelf -h ls.bin ELF Header: Magic: 7f 45 4c 46 01 01 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

A service that sends a time stamp with milliseconds is not HTTP-compliant. Read stream that is modified from outside
You don't say how the file can be modified. If it can be completely rewritten, or even set to 0 bytes, then of course you will need to re-read it each time. Also, if you do so in response to a FileSystemWatcher event you are likely to find that it is still in use, and get an IO exception. To fix that problem you might need to sleep and retry a few times (which is horrible), or you will need to use some kind of synchronisation mechanism with the process that is modifying the file. However, if you know that the other process only ever appends to the file, you could just read the appended data - but you won't be easily able to keep the stream open because once the EOF flag is set for a stream, it will stay set (AFAIAA). Instead, you could keep note of the last-read length so you know where

Reading only modified data
You can work with the stat object of the file. The curr and the prev object are both Stats objects and have an attribute called "size". I assume you are always adding data to the beginning or the end of the file, otherwise there is no way in knowing where the data was added. The difference between prev.size and curr.size tells you how many bytes were added. By give the readFile-Function an options object with a start and an end attribute. For example: You always add to the end, then you can make such a call: fs.readFile(config.filePath, {start: prev.size}, function ...); If you add in the beginning: fs.readFile(config.filePath, {start: 0, end: (curr.size-prev.size)}, function ...); Hope that helps!

304 not modified with url starting with https. How to fix?
The 304 Not Modified means the browser knows it has a copy of the image file in its cache and is using an If-Modified-Since header in its HTTP GET to the server to see if the image file has changed on the server. The server is replying with a 304 saying that the file has not been modified. As for the image not displaying, check to see if you have any settings in the browser that prevent unencrypted content from being displayed with encrypted content. If so, the browser is hiding the image because it's not available over https. Just a guess on this one.

header If-Modified-Since does not give 304 code
The problem is that If-Modified-Since is supposed to be a formatted date string: If-Modified-Since: Sat, 29 Oct 1994 19:43:31 GMT but you're passing in a datetime tuple. Try something like this: timestamp = time.time() ... time.strftime('%a, %d %b %Y %H:%M:%S GMT', time.gmtime(timestamp)) The second reason your code isn't working as you expect: http://www.google.com/ does not seem to honor If-modified-since. That's allowed per the RFC, and they may have various reasons for choosing that behavior. c) If the variant has not been modified since a valid If- Modified-Since date, the server SHOULD return a 304 (Not Modified) response. If you try http://www.stackoverflow.com/, for example, you'll see a 304. (I just tried it.)

switching branch despite of modified files
It's not that Git refuses to allow a branch to change with uncommitted changes. It disallows changing a branch where changes would be overwritten. In your case I assume that the listed files have the same committed state between branches. If you want to see this kind of output duplicate your current branch, make some changes to some files and then switch to the other branch. git branch newBranch <edit some files> git checkout newBranch The checkout now shows exactly this kind of output.

Getting file last modified date (explorer value not cmd value)
It looks like this is ultimately an OS issue that you'd have to work around, like has been shown, especially since you've edited your code to account for DST. For Feedzirra, should I be using ID/GUID or Etag/Last modified
As a general answer, independent of Feedzirra: they are separate and serve different purposes. ID/GUID are per-item properties defined by the RSS and Atom specifications to identify feed items across fetches. When you fetch a feed again you can track which items you already received the previous time (e.g. Are RSS guids actually expected to be _globally_ unique?). Etag/Last Modified are provided when you request a feed in order to identify the version of the feed that you already have and to avoid retrieving an unchanged copy (e.g. What is the point of If-Unmodified-Since/If-Modified-Since? Aren't they superseded by ETags?). You should use both.

Change modified classes generated by T4
Are those generated classes partial classes? If so, use another T4 template in order to generate a partial class definition decorated with the Serializable Attribute. Otherwise you could use the Visual Studio CodeModel in order to identify all classes that need this implementation inside another T4 template and then let this T4 template add the code fragments necessary. If you are using tangible's T4 Editor, it comes with a free Template Gallery and as far as I know there is a template called "Add NotifyPropertyChanged" which does pretty much what you are looking for: discovering code classes inside a Solution and making them implement a given interface. You might adapt that one easily and get your desired functionality. Hope that helps.

git change branches with some files being modified
I know that I can safely change branches only if I don't have modified files in the tree, That's not really true; if the changes will apply cleanly, it will work fine. If not, you'll be told so and given the chance to fix them. Your second option is probably the safest: $ git stash $ git checkout br1 $ git stash apply $ git add ... $ git commit ... But it's quite likely that just: $ git checkout br1 $ git add ... $ git commit ... will work just fine.

ASP.NET Razor ViewModel property is modified somewhere
Ok, it was AGAIN the ModelState - as you can see in the code above - the parameter to the function is called "username" but it's actually the userId. And since there is already the parameter username, it is stored in the ModelState and when I call @Html.EditorFor(model => model.UserName) it takes the value from the ModelState (where actually the UserId is stored under the name of the action-parameter) So the solution would be, either to call ModelState.Clear() or rather, rename the parameter to represent the actual value.
