Windows azure active directory authentication in android?
I was looking for the same thing. I found this website from Mircorsoft which has steps to add in authentication to your Android app. https://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/mobile/tutorials/get-started-with-users-android/ This link starts the intro to Mobile services for Android https://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/mobile/tutorials/get-started-android/

LDAP's ldap_search_s() fails on Windows Active Directory
Active Directory filtering syntax can be quite verbose. From what I can tell, you just need to modify your filter slightly. Try this : (&(objectClass=user)(distinguishedName=CN=ashwin,CN=Users,DC=test,DC=com)) However, for single user filtering, I'd try using the sAMAccountName. This generally follows a {FirstInitial}{LastName} format, and would be unique to the user (Ex. JSmith) : (&(objectClass=user)(sAMAccountName=JSmith))

Windows Azure ACS with Active Directory as identity provider for SSO
Windows Azure Active Directory is a good option for single sign-on, but it does not have to be used with ACS, as can be seen here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/dn151790.aspx#BKMK_Connecting The advantages of ACS are that It can be used to perform claims transformation without having to write any code (e.g. in a custom ClaimsAuthenticationManager). You will not be able to handle complex transformations, but simple ones are fine. It can provide federation with multiple identity providers, so if you users would rather use Facebook, instead of your WAAD, it is more flexible. However, on the down side It is more complex to configure and is another moving part in your solution that can go wrong ACS namespaces are tied to a single Azure region so a failure in a dat

Maybe I'm a little bit late but I hope this answer will help. Just replace ADEL with \0ADEL in your LDAP query. By the way, this rule applies to every attribute with dn syntax.

Windows Azure Active Directory Backup/Restore
You could consider using some of the Windows Azure Active Directory PowerShell Cmdlets to save your configuration. The various Get- Cmdlets (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj151815.aspx) should allow you to save all your configuration settings, users, roles, etc.

Query Active Directory in Java using a logged on user on windows
I'm going off of this guy's post. You can go with the commercial Jespa library, which uses NTLMv2. Or you can go with the open source com4j project that uses ADSI, created by Kohsuke Kawaguchi.

How to add Office365 custom domain to Windows Azure Active Directory?
The management portal will not let you do what you are asking. It will not let you associate your Azure account with an existing Windows Azure Active Directory (WAAD) instance, and manage it through the Azure portal. You can, however, still use your Office365 instance of WAAD to as an identity provider through Azure Access Control Service (ACS). For a good starting place on using ACS for adding claims based authentication to your web application look here. For instructions on how to provision a WAAD tenant as an IdP for ACS look here.

Use Windows Azure Active Directory to register new users for MVC 4 website
I don't believe it is the user that has to be registered first. It is the application that holds the permissions to read/write to WAAD. If the application is registered in WAAD, and contains the necessary write permissions, then the app and query WAAD and add new users to the directory.

how to get access token after windows azure active directory authentication
You can use this code to access the security token that was used: ClaimsPrincipal cp = ClaimsPrincipal.Current; ClaimsIdentity ci = cp.Identity as ClaimsIdentity; BootstrapContext bc = ci.BootstrapContext as BootstrapContext; SecurityToken securityToken = bc.SecurityToken; You also need to set the saveBootstrapContext attribute in your config file: <system.identityModel> <identityConfiguration saveBootstrapContext="true"> ... </system.identityModel>

ASP.NET MembershipProvider - SQL Server vs. Active Directory
Your question is unanswerable, as "performance" depends greatly upon many factors.. for instance, network speed, network latency, network saturation, the power of your AD server vs your SQL Server, the disk subsystems in use in either, etc... There is no way to say one way or the other without thoroughly evaluating each environment, and even at that point, you should just benchmark each and determine what works best for you. In most cases, though.. the decision between sql vs ad has nothing to do with performance, and has to do with the features offered by each. I would strongly doubt you have 100,000 users in your active directory, as that would cost a millions of dollars in licensing costs.

Authenticating with Windows Azure Active Directory directly without opening web browser
The older version of AAL supported this. However, it was removed about 2-3 months ago (as well as the sample showing it). Authentication of users now can only be achieved through a browser authentication window. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the motivation is to create a standard/consistent login experience (for the end-users). If you're on a Windows 8 application, then the WebAuthenticationBroker handles this and users will recognize this for all Windows 8 applications. If you're a web application, then the AzureAD login page is presented and is recognizable.

Windows Azure Active Directory Single Sign On - Custom error page for log in errors
Totally possible. ACS gives you error messages in encodeed JSON like this {"context":null,"httpReturnCode":401,"identityProvider":"Google","timeStamp":"2010-12-17 21:01:36Z","traceId":"16bba464-03b9-48c6-a248-9d16747b1515","errors":[{"errorCode":"ACS30000","errorMessage":"There was an error processing an OpenID sign-in response."},{"errorCode":"ACS50019","errorMessage":"Sign-in was canceled by the user."}]} First you need to enable the "Error URL feature" in management portal, for your ACS namespace-> Edit Relying party-> Error URL. You need a helper classes to decode the JSON. steps here Configure anon access to them Error page. With this you are in full control of the page, you can show the error message the way want and brand the page to match the look and feel of your relying

c# connecting to Active Directory over ssl give ldap server unavailable
LdapConnection ldapConnection = new LdapConnection(server + ":" + port); ldapConnection.AuthType = AuthType.Basic; ldapConnection.Credential = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(username, password); ldapConnection.SessionOptions.ProtocolVersion = 3; if (sslEnabled) { ldapConnection.SessionOptions.SecureSocketLayer = sslEnabled; } This is what I did and I am able to connect to AD over SSL. You said you have Java program connecting to the same server over SSL. Are you running the Java program from the same machine as your c#? if not and in case of a self signed certificate in AD, install that certificate in your client machine and try.

how to make wcf service hosted in iis access another server active directory
Ok, given the information you gave the problem is the following. The user you use to create the context doesn't have the enough permissions to perform these tasks. You need to grant permissions to this user on he OU the users are created in and all problems should go away. Check this post for more information on the subject http://serverfault.com/questions/190566/what-permissions-are-needed-for-a-helpdesk-admin-to-create-users-in-ad

Poor Performance when logging into SQL Server using Active Directory in Win Forms C#
I was just going to add a comment, but it got long. Now its here. Anyhew. When you provide credentials to SQL Server directly it can perform its own authentication and return. However, when you specify AD credentials SQL Server then has to do another round trip to the Domain Controller to confirm your credentials (although technically I think you are actually passing a token. Anyway). My 2c.

Cakephp : 404 - File or directory not found after deploying on the windows server
URL rewriting is not working by default on IIS. You will have to set it up. You will have to create WebConfig files and set it up there. Personally I find hosting PHP Apps on Windows a sort of "going against the flow" because: PHP was created to work within a Unix/Linux environment Afterwards it was ported to Windows Configuration and maintenance tend to be easier (for me at least) under Unix/Linux Some tasks that are trivial under Unix/Linux require more coding under an IIS intance (file storage for example needs some Windows specific COM objects if the server utilizes users and groups) The Url Rewriting is set up on 4 lines in 2 files in Apache. In IIS it takes several hundred lines of xml... Oh yes, and Microsoft sucks :D (Yes, they do!) Anyway this is my personal opinion (backed u

Window Server 2012 & SQL Server 2012 within single VM on Windows Azure
Arun Rana, That should be possible and AFAIK there isn't any restriction for SQL Server licence to be used in Azure, however take a look at License Mobility through Software Assurance on Windows Azure. If your licence is from MSDN, then it now absolutely legal use it on Azure. If you are unsure about the licence problem and other litigation, you may spin up a VM with SQL Server 2012 pre-installed and this will solve your licence trouble (but right now only available with the combo of SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2). PS / Personal Experience : SQL Server + some server component isn't performing well for a Medium instance. Either split the server roles or consider choosing a bigger instance size like xLarge or A6.

Difference in buildable C# applications on Windows 8 vs. Windows Server 2012?
Does this mean there are Windows applications that can't be built on any release of a Windows Server OS? Yes. You can't build Windows Store apps on Windows Server operating systems, due to licensing restrictions. Can someone describe what kinds of programs can be built on Windows 8 and not Windows Server 2012, or vice-versa? Windows Store applications can't be built on Server 2012. Anything can be developed on Windows 8. You can install a virtual machine for Windows 8 on a Windows Server 2012 machine, and develop within the VM, however. This is effectively developing on Windows 8.

sqlsrv error while connecting to mssql server 2008 on windows 2003 server
Two ways to try, first to check if the Native driver has the right version - is your server really a 32bit Version and not 84bit? The other thing is, to check if the extensions are actually loaded. To check that, create a file like "phpinfo.php" and put it in you folder for .htdocs. <?php // show phpinfo file phpinfo(); ?> The easy way is to search for it in the phpinfo-Page with Ctrl+F and "extension=php_sqlsrv_53_ts_vc9.dll"

Hyper-V Web Server in Windows Server 2012 Not Accessible Externally

Run Sinatra on Windows Server 2008
Figured this out. Was pretty much as simple as ensuring sinatra was running with no ip (either run with -e production or use the -o 0.0.0.0 flag), and then most importantly, ensure the port the webrick server was running on was open on the windows server machine. Once the port was open, accessing it via ip:port works.

configuration node.js windows 2008 server
Listening to localhost or 127.0.0.1 only allows for responding to requests made from the same computer to that specific IP or hostname. To have your application respond to requests for multiple IP addresses, you'll need to listen to each of them. You can either do this individually. function server(req, res) { // ... } http.createServer(server).listen(port, '127.0.0.1'); http.createServer(server).listen(port, 'my.domain.ip.address'); http.createServer(server).listen(port, '<any other public facing IP address>'); Or, you can listen to IPADDR_ANY (0.0.0.0), which in a non-specific, meta address. And, this is the default value for the hostname argument, so you only need to specify the port. http.createServer(function (req, res) { // ... }).listen(port);

Problems with deploying MVC 4 app on Windows Server 2008
It is hard to tell from the info provided, but I'll have a bash at helping. If the connection string is different, I assume the data might be too. When you see object not set, it is usually something not instantiated in the code. In this case though, it could be the data. Assuming everything is instantiated somewhere, it is possible there are no ScreenshotURLs? The error message details a lambda error, so I assume the it relates to the select statement.
