IE doesnt align text and image properly
Your 'span' tag closes before you close your 'a' tag. Corrected Code: <td style="width:350px;padding-left:20px;"> <a href="%file_url%"> <img align="top" src="%file_icon_url%" alt="%file_display_name%" height="40" /> </a> <span style="width:200px;float:right;vertical-align:text-top;"> <a href="%file_url%">%file_display_name%</a> </span> </td>

my vertical text align middle did not work
Make sure all your links are display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; so they fill the parent element. Make sure the parent elements also have width: 100%; height: 100%; so they expand properly. To center the text itself, see this question: CSS Center text (Horizontal and Vertical) inside a DIV block

Why "text-align: right" doesn't work on empty contenteditable element in Firefox?
This can be achieved using a simple change like this: <div contenteditable>&nbsp;</div> We're forcing a blank space in it. Well if the space matters, I think you have a problem. But I hope this helps :)

Why does browser.text.include? .should == true not work properly? returns incorrect value of false -cucumber -watir webdriver -rspec
You are running into one of the challenges of working with pages that use a lot of ajax. The problem with ajax is that it makes it difficult for watir to know when the page is done loading. What is happening in your script: The search field is inputted and the button is clicked The loading of the search results begins Watir thinks the page has finished loading The assertion gets run, which fails since the page has not finished loading the results The page actually finishes loading. When you do this manually through irb, you likely wait long enough between clicking the button and checking the results that the page actually finishes loading. If you change the assertion to a puts @browser.text you will see that the page text only includes the heading of the page (the different links). I

How to align in RelativeLayout properly?
What I understand is what you want to implement is one Button on the bottom-right corner of the screen and one extended EditText just left of the button. Am I correct? If that, try this. I tested this code in on my galaxy nexus and it worked fine. RelativeLayout layout = new RelativeLayout(this); EditText myText = new EditText(this); Button myBtn = new Button(this); myBtn.setId(1); RelativeLayout.LayoutParams parameters_layout = new RelativeLayout.LayoutParams(RelativeLayout.LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, RelativeLayout.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT); parameters_layout.addRule(RelativeLayout.ALIGN_PARENT_BOTTOM, RelativeLayout.TRUE); parameters_layout.addRule(RelativeLayout.ALIGN_PARENT_LEFT, RelativeLayout.TRUE); parameters_layout.addRule(RelativeLayout.LEFT_OF, myBtn.getId());

Can't get bootstrap grid to align properly
first; margin-left:30px is not default. default is 20px, but if you include responsive, it adjusts the margin property to 30px if clients screens width larger than 1200px. second; bootstraps row consists total of 12 spans each. when I checked your code, you included more than 12 spans for one row. about your problem; after opening a div with container, you directly used span class without initializing a row. all spans must be inside a row class. otherwise it will not work in order to be aligned, since a row starts with -20/30px margin on the left, while a span neutralizes that margin.

How does `__declspec(align(#))` work?
The size of the object is used to calculate offsets in arrays and when you use pointers, so sizeof(x) must always be a multiple of the alignment value. In this case, 1 x 32. But if you have __declspec(align(32)) struct aType {int a[12]; };, then the size would be 2 x 32 = 64, since sizeof(a) is 12 x 4 = 48. If we change it to align to 4, 8 or 16, it would be 48. The way it actually works is that the compiler adds an unamed padding member after the named members of the structure, to fill the structure to it's alignment size. If it didn't work this way, something like: aType *aPtr = new aType[15]; aPtr[12].a = 42; wouldn't work right, since the compiler will multiply 12 by sizeof(aPtr) to add to aPtr internally.

Right align a column in datagridview doesn't work
The code works: the space you see at the right of the header text is "normal". The DataGridView supports sorting by columns. Therefore, each column header reserves enough space to display the sort glyph (usually an arrow). If you want the text in column header to be perfectly right aligned, you'll need to disable sorting. Set the SortMode property for the column to NotSortable. This will prevent space from being reserved for the sort glyph. object lesson: public class FrmTest : Form { public FrmTest() { InitializeComponent(); this.DataGridView1.Columns[0].HeaderCell.Style.Alignment = DataGridViewContentAlignment.MiddleRight; this.DataGridView1.Columns[0].DefaultCellStyle.Alignment = DataGridViewContentAlignment.MiddleRight; this.DataGridView1.

Why won't "vertical-align middle" work with this table cell?
You're floating the <td> in the last rule of your CSS - this will automatically make an element block-level, and vertical-align will not work as it only applies to elements in the inline-formatting context. You should instead use text-align to align the <td> content instead of floating #dateHolder http://jsfiddle.net/LRMrv/

Vertical align text?
You can use vertical-align:middle and display:table-cell. You need to add " display:table" to the parent for this to work. It is also explained here http://phrogz.net/css/vertical-align/index.html Line-height should also work, set it as the same height as the parent div: #menu { height: 90px; line-height: 90px; } Edit: Line-height usually won't work in a floating element so that's why it might not work for you.

iTextSharp: align image and text
Do you really need a PdfPTable? Why not add a Paragraph with the data that is right-aligned, followed by a couple of Paragraphs that are centered. Then add the image at an absolute position, for instance: Image img = Image.GetInstance(path_to_image); img.SetAbsolutePosition(36, PdfWriter.getVerticalPosition(true)); document.Add(Image); Another option is to add the Image in a table or a cell event instead of adding it straight to the table. Suppose that your PdfPTable consists of a single row and a single column, then you could define a cell event like this: public class ImageCell : IPdfPCellEvent { public void CellLayout( PdfPCell cell, Rectangle position, PdfContentByte[] canvases ) { float x1 = position.Left + 2; float y1 = position.Top - 2;

Align image on left and text on right using css
I'm not sure if this actually helps you but here is how I probably would have done it. html: <div class="container"> <p class="imageclass"><img src... /></p> <p class="textclass">text...</p> </div> css: .container { width:500px; } .imageclass { float:left; width:200px; height:20px; } .textclass { float:left; width:300px; height:20px; } I used this exact code in one page I did, and it worked fine getting the paragraphs in the same line. You can probably change the paragraphs for divs, and you of course have to change the numbers so it fits on your page.
