Getting chrome to go full screen, programmatically
A simple Google search would suffice for this question. http://updates.html5rocks.com/2011/10/Let-Your-Content-Do-the-Talking-Fullscreen-API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Guide/DOM/Using_full_screen_mode http://davidwalsh.name/fullscreen All are excellent resources (and the top three Google links!). Essentially, there's a new API which allows JS to request fullscreen access. That's about it.

Make Firefox's native full screen look like Chrome's
This is from the MDN: Using full screen mode Presentation differences It's worth noting a key difference here between the Gecko and WebKit implementations at this time: Gecko automatically adds CSS rules to the element to stretch it to fill the screen: "width: 100%; height: 100%". WebKit doesn't do this; instead, it centers the fullscreen element at the same size in a screen that's otherwise black. To get the same fullscreen behavior in WebKit, you need to add your own "width: 100%; height: 100%;" CSS rules to the element yourself: :-webkit-full-screen #myvideo { width: 100%; height: 100%; } On the other hand, if you're trying to emulate WebKit's behavior on Gecko, you need to place the element you want to present inside another element, which you'll mak

How to create videoview like youtube "small screen and full screen play in android "
You have to override setAnchorView in your new java class which extend the Android's MediaController (android.widget.MediaController) and add an extra view/button to the controller. And do something like this @Override public void setAnchorView(View view) { super.setAnchorView(view); Button fullScreen = new Button(context); fullScreen.setText("FullScreen"); FrameLayout.LayoutParams params = new FrameLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT); params.gravity = Gravity.RIGHT|Gravity.TOP; addView(fullScreen, params); } now add clicklister to view

Everything moves in website when changed from full screen mode on desktop screen
Something to this effect? The biggest issue was that you didn't have a minimum width for your menu, so it would keep shrinking until it stacked on itself. #navigation { float:left; width:60%; height:24px; min-width:1000px; text-align:center; padding:10px 20px; }

I have a background set to the bottom of the screen, but when I go to full screen there is an empty white space beneath. Why is this happening?
First, fix the errors in your HTML. They look terrible. Then, you calculate the height as screen.availHeight. That's a mistake, availHeight is the height of the desktop. Excluding things like taskbars and whatever you may have on your computer. What you need is screen.height.

high charts - how do I get a stacked graph to the full width?
One option is to use 'endOnTick': yAxis: { endOnTick: false, http://jsfiddle.net/f3eFd/ If you want the end tick (23) to show, you could also add: tickInterval:23, http://jsfiddle.net/bLDpg/ If you really want to get fancy, you can define each tick you need. In the following code, it prints ticks at 0, 3 and at 23. tickPositioner: function () { var positions = [0, 3, 23]; return positions; }, http://jsfiddle.net/aSHz3/

Why when launching Chrome and loading html file to chrome it's taking so much time to load it?
I think that is because the page you are trying to load has its html part in other file and other elements belonging to same page are in a folder, not to mention designer webpages and sites have hundreds and thousands of elements in them. From elements i mean separate stylesheets, separate script files, graphics such as images including site banner and others etc.Assigning hundreds of elements to correct places obviously takes some time. My opinion would be to first change the following setting in Chrome(To change them type 'chrome://flags' (without quotes) and press Enter button this will bring you to internal settings page of Chrome).Once you have settings page opened locate following setting Save Page as MHTML and Enable it,then try to download the page again. Then use this co

High-load java server
I do not think that Idea 3 would be over engineering, and I'd hit that road. Building @MessageDriven Bean "adapter" that handles incoming socket connections in the onMessage method is easy to develop and from there you're in the well scaling EE world. You your case, you might even want to rely on UDP. See following example: http://www.apprigger.com/2011/06/javaee-udp-resource-adapter-example/ But from my point of view there are other important reasons to go this way. Some pointers: 1.) As you've already mentioned. Building an own Socket Server handling threads and requests is a lot of work, and at the end you might build your own little "application server". 2.) Don't be afraid of using an application server. Of course people tend to call such a platform "overhead". Though when I did

Java High-load NIO TCP server
Your logic around writing is faulty. You should attempt the write immediately you have data to write. If the write() returns zero it is then time to register for OP_WRITE, retry the write when the channel becomes writable, and deregister for OP_WRITE when the write has succeeded. You're adding a massive amount of latency here. You're adding even more latency by deregistering for OP_READ while you're doing all that.

High CPU load on ORMLite query
The resulting data is about 9kB in total. Is there anything wrong with the code? I don't immediately see any problems with your code. I'd make sure that userId is in an index if you have a large table but I suspect that isn't the issue. @DatabaseField(index = true) private String userId; You might also want to add an index to the foreign UserDTO field in the event table if that table is large but again I don't think the performance problem is on the Sqlite end unless your databases are large. One query optimization that you could try is to use another WHERE constraint when getting the events instead of the join: QueryBuilder<EventViewDTO, Long> eventQb = eventDao.queryBuilder(); // the "userDto" needs to be changed to whatever the foreign field name is data.eventViews =

AWS : S3FS AMI and load balancer high I/O Issue
I would like to recommend to take a look at the new project RioFS (Userspace S3 filesystem): https://github.com/skoobe/riofs. This project is “s3fs” alternative, the main advantages comparing to “s3fs” are: simplicity, the speed of operations and bugs-free code. Currently the project is in the “testing” state, but it's been running on several high-loaded fileservers for quite some time. We are seeking for more people to join our project and help with the testing. From our side we offer quick bugs fix and will listen to your requests to add new features. Regarding your issue: I'm not quite sure how does S3FS works with cached files, but in our project we try to avoid performing additional I/O operation. Please give it a try and let me know how RioFS works for you !

AWS EC2 Instances with Load Balancing during very high traffic
Reserved instances are there to save money for those instances you regularly run. I would suggest using reserved instances for your 'master'. The only advantage of keeping that one on-demand is the advantage that you could scale up or down as soon as your constant flow of traffic changes up or down. Make sure you choose the right use for your reserved instance; an 'always-on reserved instance' should have an heavy-use reserved purchase. Those 'peak instances' do best as an on-demand instance.

document goes out of full screen when new url
This is not an issue and is to be expected. There are two reasons for this: Technical The document or one of its element which the full-screen mode is bound to is no longer available or valid when navigating to a new site. The document or element is unreferenced and browser will revert to normal mode. Full-screen mode in browsers are not actual full-screen modes such as you see in for instance ActiveX / video players. They are simply element overlays that are shown at the full size of the screen (eg. by CSS rules defined internally by the browser). This creates dependency on the current DOM and document. The new site does not necessary have the same elements in the same order etc. and from a browser perspective is an entirely new DOM tree. Security Full-screen mode is permitted for

Full screen css layout
You can achieve this easily with the calc() function, though it isn't supported below IE 9 and mobile support is quite bad. All you need to do is give #divCenter a height of 100% minus the 20px + 20px of height from its siblings. To have the footer appear on the bottom, you need to relatively position its containing block and then absolutely position the footer and place it at the bottom (bottom: 0;). http://jsfiddle.net/gpwD4/6/

I don't really get the same error than you but you can already test this solution: if [ `uptime | awk '{ print$11 }' | cut -d. -f1` -gt 1 ]; This condition try to compare a float with an integer. I would make this test with an extended test command. And you can forget semicolon if you don't put then keyword on the same line than your condition : if [[ `uptime | awk '{ print$11 }' | cut -d. -f1` > 1 ]] then mail -s "$SUBJECT" $TO < /tmp/load exit fi

nodejs HTTP server can't handle large response on high load
Right now all strings are first converted to Buffer instances. This can put a heavy load on the garbage collector to cleanup after each request. Running your application with --prof and examining the v8.log file with tools/*-tick-processor and you may see that. There is work being done to correct this so strings are written out to memory directly then cleaned up when the request is complete. It has been implemented for file system writes in f5e13ae, but not yet for other cases (much more difficult to implement than it sounds). Also converting strings to Buffers is very costly. Especially for utf8 strings (which are default). Where you can, definitely pre-cache the string as a Buffer and use it. Here is an example script: var http = require('http'); var str = 'a'; for (var i = 0; i <

Canvas doesn't take full screen
It sounds like you want to use the HTML5 Fullscreen API. Here's a good article on the topic. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Guide/DOM/Using_full_screen_mode In short, your canvas element asks to be presented fullscreen like so: var canvas = document.getElementById("canvas"); canvas.requestFullscreen(); The above linked article should explain the details and cross platform caveats in detail. If you want to simply make the canvas take all available space in the browser window, that just takes some CSS. After googling for "fullscreen canvas" this was the third link, which shows the required CSS to make it work: http://jsfiddle.net/jaredwilli/qFuDr/

google maps api full screen
I think the problem isn't with the map as much but with the containing div. If you set the height of the div to 100% make sure that all containing divs have a height defined. You can tell if this is the problem by putting a border around the div, you may see that the height is the problem. It would be easier to fix if you can get it up for us to play with.
