MySql Function Creation Error
You can't name input variables with @. @ is used for user variables, ie connection local variables that don't needs to be declared. Also you can't have selects in functions. Procedures can return result sets but return values. Functions can return values but not result sets. They also differs in how you use them. select function_name(1) from dual; select id, name, funcation_name(id, name) from anyTable; call procedure_name(1); And when assigning variables inside selects you need to do := and not =. In your code you are actually selecting true or false and not the count. This should work. You cannot do new mysql_connect, mysql_connect is a function and not a Class. Also please, don't use mysql_* functions in new code. They are no longer maintained and are officially deprecated. See the red box? Learn about prepared statements instead, and use PDO or MySQLi - this article will help you decide which. If you choose PDO, here is a good tutorial.

Error while retriving data from database mysql
Instead of <%= um_org_data.org_desc %> you should have <%= um_org_data.org_description %> as this is your column name in DB, so activerecord automatically creates UmOrgDatum#org_description method to fetch this column's value. It doesn't create method UmOrgDatum#org_desc because there is no such column in your table and that's why you get an error.

Error in droping a database in MySQL (can't rmdir '.oro', errno: 41)
The ERROR 1010 you got is occurred When you create a database, a file is created for you. This implies "create database foo" will create a directory foo in your data directory. All table definitions/data for foo are in the foo directory. All these tables are created in the server and their corresponding files are created by the server. If, for some reason, a file is created in or placed in this directory that is not generated by MySQL, the error 1010 will be issued by the server when you drop foo. and in case when you are trying to drop database using phpmyadmin refer this phpmyadmin enable drop database statement. Hope this may help you to understand the error.

The syntax provided is to tell you that you can use either of the 2 objects. So try only ALTER DATABASE UPGRADE DATA DIRECTORY NAME; But from the documentation it seems that you also must specify the database name. Have a look at their example ALTER DATABASE `#mysql50#a-b-c` UPGRADE DATA DIRECTORY NAME;

Error when trying to insert inside a DateTime field in database mysql
It looks as though your date value is unquoted and it (the sql) looks thus to the database ..., 09:23:12) which won't work. Try a) inspecting the actual value before using it, making sure it is quoted (if you have to use a string) and/or b) use one of the mysql built-in conversion functions so that you are passing a date object and not some kind of string. e.g STR_TO_DATE documented here

'Query was empty' error when pushing form data to Database PHP, MYSQL
Your getting the error on <?php $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); ?> Which is executed later down your script and $query is not set. Your real insert is way up above. $sql="INSERT INTO $tbl_name(FirstName, LastNname, Company, EmailAddress, Registered, PercentOfBusiness, ProductsSold, WhichPrize, Newsletter)VALUES('$fname', '$lname', '$company', '$email', '$registered', '$percentage', '$products', '$prize', '$terms', '$newsletter')"; $result=mysql_query($sql); You should also change that to $result=mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); and see if there is errors on the actual insert. remove the secondary query execution.

I don't think you will any extension in any CMS get exactly what you want. Yeah we have created our own custom component which allows users to create, delete, copy, assign to other users, modify etc & its based on Joomla's Zoo extension. There are many extensions like zoo, seblod in Joomla related to your requirement but it won't fulfill your requirement as it is. So for the extension which fulfill at most of your requirement & customize it as you need.

Improve speed of database creation that uses xml strings in Android
I have initially chosen to create my database programmatically saving the text to be added to the database as string in xml files found in res/values strings files Unless you are using string resources to allow for translations, you are probably better served by shipping a pre-packaged SQLite database, perhaps using SQLiteAssetHelper. I have read the conversations regarding using DatabaseUtils.InsertHelper() which I am aware is deprecated and SQLite Statement however I do not understand how to change my current code in such a way to improve the performance when populating my database. I doubt that either of those are your problem. Your problem is that you are not using transactions. Modify insertSomeEntrys() to use a transaction: public void insertSomeEntrys() { try { mDb

Adding postgresql database import command to creation
On debian, you probably need to follow Daniel's comment because PostgreSQL is probably configured to require the OS user to be the same username as the db user. So you need to su postgres -c "psql -f /etc/schema.sql" Alternatively you could put all these db creation commands in a nice little shell script (without the su postgres -c part) and then just run that all at once. Something like: #!/bin/bash echo "CREATE ROLE deploy LOGIN ENCRYPTED PASSWORD '$APP_DB_PASS';" | su postgres -c psql createdb db1 --owner deploy createdb db2 --owner deploy psql db1 -f /etc/schema.sql psql db2 -f /etc/schema.sql Then you can run that with sudo or su -c and simplify the things that can go wrong, auth-wise.
