R.Java not generating on any android project, even if it's new
Okay, I found out the issue. What happened was that while there were no XML errors in MY projects, there were a few in a library I was using. That completely destroyed the R.Java's ability to autogenerate.

How to use jars from a Java Project in an Android project transitively over the included Android library?
I think you should be able to go to the properties of your Android library project, go to Java Build Path, switch to the tab Order and Export and select the java library so that it is exposed to the Android project that uses the Android library.

Android Emulation Issue; Application working on ARM system image but not Intel Atom system image
Well this somehow resolved itself (no idea how). If you run into this issue just be patient and keep developing in your ARM image for a while, then check the Intel image once every few minutes for me it just started working again after about 45 minutes.

Generating eclipse project from android gradle plugin
I feel like my response may be short of a true answer, but hopefully it qualifies under "Any ideas?" Anyhow... It's hard to know without seeing more of the gradle file, but I find the warning gradle is giving you to be quite suspicious. TaskContainer.add() doesn't really jump out at me, but the suggestion does. Please use the cr:eclipseClasspath Now obviously deprecated doesn't automatically mean "this won't work" but gradle is suggesting you use cr:eclipseClasspath and it sounds like you are having issues with the eclipse classpath. It's hard to assume the warning and your issues are not related. Have you done any investigation along that route?

Failed to import Gradle project error creating new project with Android Studio
I had same issue with the latest Android Studio () today, and I finally found that configuring a https proxy for Gradle can solve the issue. I only set a http proxy at the beginning. Gradle needs to sync some files via HTTPS. Use IP address instead if hostname of proxy can't work.

Android Studio & Gradle: Add outside java classes to Android main project
you might want to make your Dir a own module add include 'Dir' to your settings.gradle create a build.gradle inside your Dir directory with this content apply plugin: java now you can go into your main projects build.gradle and add to dependencies: compile project(':Dir') if your Dir uses android related stuff, you might want to use the New > Module(right click on your project in Android Studio) Function of Android Studio to create an Android Library. But i haven't tested that feature yet. If Android Studio throws an Exception when trying to use the New Module, you should try to update Android Studio, in the latest Version it works for me. You might also want to check the Gradle User Guide and the DSL Reference both are very helpfull in getting into Gradle and understanding i

R.java is not generating neither with eclipse nor with Android Studio
I'm not sure about Eclipse, but the most recent version of Android Studio (0.1.6) has a known bug like this that only has a workaround at this point. The workaround is to turn off external build in preferences > compiler.

Creating jar Library of Android project?
Here CommonsWare saya there is a way to create a jar file from a project that uses resources. Not in that answer. You can tell that by actually reading the answer. But that answer has two link that do not open any page on the web Sorry, Google reorganized their site and broke the original links. The answer has been updated with current links. Is there any way to create jar library file from project that uses resources? No. You can create an Android library project that includes a JAR instead of Java source code. AFAIK, this recipe still works: Create an Android library project, with your source code, resources, and such, and get it working Compile the Java source (e.g., via Ant) and turn it into a JAR file Create a copy of your original Android library project to serve

First of all - I believe Java Web Project will not work with any of Android specific classes due to many reasons. If your MonitoringModel contains some Java code that you want to share between Android and Web application you can extract it to separate Java project and use a Link Source option in Properties->Build Path to link it to both projects.

How to find the system date of image stored in android phone?
It seems you are looking for the file creation date. Android does not allow you to retrieve this, but you can get the last modified date from the File object: File file = new File(filePath); Date lastModifiedDate = new Date(file.lastModified()); Log.i("Last Modified Date : "+ lastModifiedDate.toString()); Keep in mind that if the user edits the file, it will change to the date of the edit, not the date of creation.

toString in java - System.out.println vs log in Android
since Log.X only takes a String as second parameter, you'd better do a wrapper that calls the Android logger, something like: static class MyLogger{ public static void d(String tag,Object o){ if(o==null){ throw new NullPointerException("The second parameter can not be null"); } Log.d(tag, o.toString()); } }

classes from android project library not resolved in android project
Recently, Google updated its tools and it introduced some strange behaviour when using library projects. I'm not sure you're dealing with the same problem, but try this: right click on your library project, choose Properties in the menu on the left, click on Java Build Path now click ont the Order and export tab make sure "Android private libraries" and "Android dependencies" are checked. Do the same for your application project. After these steps, clean both projects and maybe your problem is fixed ;-) good luck!

Unable to re-generate R.java in android project
If it works on another computer, it seems the code is fine. The problem seems to be either your toolchain or your Eclipse workspace. Try the following: If you use Android SDK Tools 17 or higher, make sure you install the corresponding Android SDK Build-tools in Android SDK Manager. If the above doesn't help, create a new workspace and import your existing code into it.

Creating Visual Studio project system with MEF and VSIX
Unfortunately, Visual Studio API is really ugly. If you’ll make a deep integration with internal mechanisms of Visual Studio, you’ll have to use “hideous COM”. Directly or through managed wrappers (Interop Assemblies). To avoid confusion I try to explain concepts of Visual Studio Extensibility and post useful links to documentation. Hope it will help you. You can extend Visual Studio by using macros, add-ins, VSPackages, and Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) extensions. Starting with Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio Extensions no longer supports macros! However, use VSPackages provide more opportunities. For more details see MSDN: Walkthrough: Creating a VSPackage MSDN: Creating Add-ins and Wizards MSDN: Get Started with Extending Visual Studio MSDN: Inside the Visual Stud

Android Raspberry pi W/System.err(13264): java.net.ConnectException connection refused
There are multiple strange things going on here. You might want to try the -k flag on netcat - it means the connection will stay. Your awk-script seems to make sure only the last line of the file is sent. Is this intentional? You do a rather violent hang-up in the java-code - when you got your message, you close the socket. Consider reading all of the message, filtering out what you need, and closing the socket in a finally block at the end. (It is always a good idea to close resources in a finally-block.)

Collision detection system not working after porting from Java applet to Android app
I bet that your issues are because of the API difference between the 2 rectangle classes. Comparing android.graphics.Rect and java.awt.Rectangle I see some differences such as the meaning of method arguments. For example, the android Rect uses left and right and the awt Rectangle uses left and width. In your code in class Projectile function update you call r.set(..) and I'm pretty sure you're passing width and height as the last arguments instead of right and bottom. So your existing code: r.set(x, y, 4, 10); Should be ported to: r.set(x, y, x+4, y+10);
