If I cancel Login Dialog, login error occurs: Unauthorized Access is denied due to invalid credentials
HTTP code 401 means "unauthorized". When the browser receives this error code, it assumes it's because the user needs to login. The browser displays a login dialog, and then tries again with the login details given. This is exactly what's supposed to happen. If what you're wanting is to simply refuse the request, you're after HTTP code 403, "forbidden". However, I'm not clear on why you're actually trying to achieve here. If your own server code is returning an HTTP 302 (a redirect), why are you trying to convert that to an HTTP 401/403/whatever? If you don't want to perform redirects for some reason, don't issue the redirect in the first place!

tf14044 access denied adminconfiguration global permissions
I got the same error message when I wanted to access Team, Team Project Collection Settings, Source Control in the Visual Studio IDE. What I did was to login as the project owner in VSO and went to accountName.visualstudio.com/DefaultCollection/_admin/_security I selected the user that was having the problem and allow: Edit collection-level information, Create a workspace and some more and that fixed for me. If you allow all of the Permissions or allow them one by one you could find the right permission that you need for your specific task. This might help you: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/98c528d7-8f38-4648-83e2-a98db99a1f93/tf14044-error?forum=tfsgeneral

Facebook Login Permissions
1 set nothing to "scope", you don't need to know your user's like data in this scenario. 2 I guess you do need to have you own facebook app. 3 You can listen to user like event , and then redirect them wherever you want.

Android facebook login set permissions
Are you talking about email + location on Facebook or email and location on your Android tablet. If you're talking about FB permissions you pretty much have to use the FB SDK, and request the permissions see this list of FB permissions. FB doesn't like developers to roll their own interfaces, and will block you if you app gets popular, and you broke the TOU. If you want to get that from Android, you'll need to add <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" /> to get location. You can use an Intent to send an email. You can also reference the entire list of android permissions here

Facebook Alers : Too Many Login Dialog Permissions
You can safely ignore the publish_stream permission as it is already included with the publish_actions permission. Quoting from the blog post about the same issue publish_actions will now include basic publish_stream permissions (including posting on a user's timeline, posting photos/videos, commenting on and liking content), which will appear on the first Auth Dialog screen. With this change, apps that were previously granted publish_stream do not need to request publish_actions.

Facebook login button not accepting permissions upon click
you should "can" not mix read and write permissions anymore with the login button you have to get just basic and read, then in your flow of the site ask for write when needed https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions/ Here are a few guidelines to use when asking for permissions, both during and after login: Only ask for the permissions that are essential to an app. Ask for permission in the context in which they are required. For example, if your app wants to show places of interest near a person's home, asking for user_location just prior to displaying that information would give the person a greater understanding of why the permission is being requested. Use any available public profile information before asking for a permission. Fo

granting minimal permissions during facebook "Login Flow for Web"
For reference, since I spent a good amount of time researching an answer to that question, I believe that it is impossible to explicitely not request permission from the user to see his list of friends. The Facebook documentation hints at this by stating that these are the "default" permissions that every application gets.

How to recognize returning Facebook User using the Facebook Login Widget
I have been working on a similar application which uses either Facebook (OAuth), Google (OpenId) or a manual registration login approach. My prefered solution was to ask the user for their email address, you will need to request extended permissions on the email field from Facebook as it is not offered up by default. http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/permissions My table structure looks like this. User Id (int) Email (nvarchar(256)) FacebookToken (nvarchar(256)) GoogleToken (nvarchar(256)) The advantage to this method is you are able to link up your users to the right account if you decide later to add another authentication / identification service or roll your own. It won;t matter if they login to FB, Google or Twitter - you always know whcih account t

Facebook App Alerts: Permissions - read and write for apps without FB login
The "problem" with your request is the read_friendlists permission, the guidelines in case of non-facebook login says: In this case, make sure that the only read permissions you request are public profile and friend list. Also the offline_access han been deprecated and not useful anymore So you should ask for read_friendlists in a separate request, the alert does not affect the functionality of the app but maybe it will affects other things like quota or apps store. Hope this helps

Android FacebookSDK login with native Facebook app installed asks for permissions even after the user have already given them
Thats probably because you got a signature mismatch between your app (which I assume is in debug mode) and your facebook app associated to your appID. Basically you should make sure that: The signature of your android app that use the facebook sdk is added to the facebook app dashboard you can easily get your app signature by using keytool or by adding this code in your activity's onCreate method : @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState){ super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); try { PackageInfo info = getPackageManager().getPackageInfo( getPackageName(), PackageManager.GET_SIGNATURES); for (Signature signature : info.signatures) { MessageDigest md = MessageDigest.getInstance("SHA"); md.update(signature.toByteArray())

XDR post returning "access denied" in IE 8 & 9
I'm not exactly sure if this is how XDR works, but it works like this on my server for some reason, but it looked like 'open' triggered the ajax response from my .Net back-end, and blocked the send from getting through (It doesn't sound right, but that's is how it looked in Fiddler). So no form data was being posted, which caused all the weirdness to happen. To fix this, I changed the post to a get, and added a clause to my .Net Ajax Controller that said if Request.Form.AllKeys.Length = 0, get the query string instead.

Why is facebook api asking this message on login with facebook for authorised users - "Application name" would like to access your friend list.?
The Facebook app authorization screen says that the app would like to access your friend’s list. But in truth, the app probably didn’t ask for that. The friends list is part of every app authorization, whether the app wants it or not. This is because Facebook wants apps to add social context, which can only be done with the friends list. But this doesn’t give the app the ability to contact your friends on your behalf, at least not more than it could do so without you adding the app anyway. jQuery is not working in my Facebook Application in Internet Explorer - Access is denied
First, I removed every other script on the page, at which point I only received the following error (obviously because I wasn't trying to make use of $ anymore): SCRIPT5: Access is denied. After trying about a dozen things (and combinations of those) that I found around the internet, I decided to use the non-minified version of jQuery so that I could more accurately determine the line that was causing my issue. After uploading that and taking another look in the console, I was pointed to line 1513, which looked like this: if ( parent && parent.frameElement ) { Above this line was a comment which made note of the issue that I was experiencing: // IE will throw "permission denied" error when accessing "document" variable, see jQuery #13936 I Googled jQuery #13936 and came a

c# - how to get user access token without login from facebook?
You have to create a new instance of the FacebookClient with the Users AccessToken to get info about the User! I think here is no way you get the Token without calling the FB.Login From the API Documentation: User Access Token – The user token is the most commonly used type of token. This kind of access token is needed any time the app calls an API to read, modify or write a specific person's Facebook data on their behalf. User access tokens are generally obtained via a login dialog and require a person to permit your app to obtain one.

Of course you can only request those fields for which you requested in the scope when authenticated and the user explicitly granted permissions in the consent page. You can read the scopes and permissions here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/login/#permissions

Facebook Graph API returning different pages for different access tokens
We are struggling with a similar version of this. We are using our application token and getting very few results when we know there are many results to be returned as we can seen them using the Graph search UI. If one person submits the query using our access_token, he gets a handful of results -- I think 14. If I cut and paste the exact same URL string (same token) into my browser, I get 2 results. Facebook says this is "works as designed" but it is not the behavior we are seeking: https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/161678720693595 Here is the API query string https://graph.facebook.com/search?q=bevmo&type=page&limit=1000&access_token=REMOVED&fields=id,link,username,name,website,description,about,category,location and what we think is an equivalent browser sear

iOS Facebook login, handle different access tokens and determine users identity
The only way to unite the two memberships is to use a common link as a username or identifier such as email. I am sure fb, google, yahoo and others relay the users email account information. Your database should allow for storing your user's email address. The hurdle then becomes what do you do when user login with facebook then the next day using gmail that's when it gets tricky and you have to implement some mechanism for those accounts to be linked.

Why FB.login doesn't ask me for permissions
It doesn't ask me for any permissions, just publishes in my timelime directly. This simply means that you've already authorized your app once. Once authorized, it doesn't ask for the permissions again unless new permissions are added. Delete the app from your Facebook profile and then try again. It will definitely ask for the permissions then.
