Wordpress site extremly slow in IE
I see you load a few scripts in the header, try relocate stuff in footer.php. Only load necessary stuff in the header. Could help. And test without... <!--[if lt IE 9]><script type="text/javascript" src="http://css3-mediaqueries-js.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/css3-mediaqueries.js"></script><![endif]--> the to rule out, due it targets the browser where you encounter problems Overall good practice to handpick stuff, disable and check.

Problems using MySql View - extremly slow, but why?
Main problem is probably indexes, but also well worth removing the co related sub query. Something like this:- CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW view_test AS SELECT nve_nr.nve_nvenr AS collonr, CONCAT (adr_emp.adr_name1, " ", adr_emp.adr_name2, " ", adr_emp.adr_strasse, " ", adr_emp.adr_land , " - ", adr_emp.adr_plz, " ", adr_emp.adr_ort) AS emp_adr, UNIX_TIMESTAMP((SELECT MAX(t_1.colst_timestamp) FROM tbl_collo_status t_1 WHERE t_1.colst_nve_id = nve_nr.nve_id AND t_1.colst_status_code IN (10, 11, 76))) AS status_x, UNIX_TIMESTAMP((SELECT MAX(t_2.colst_timestamp) FROM tbl_collo_status t_2 WHERE t_2.colst_nve_id = nve_nr.nve_id AND t_2.colst_status_code IN (20,25,91))) AS status_y, UNIX_TIMESTAMP((SELECT MAX(t_3.colst_timestamp) FROM tbl_collo_status t_3 WHERE t_3.colst_nve_id = nve_nr.nv

It's due to how Google parses robots. You need to spoof the User-Agent headers to pretend to be a computer. Some info on how to go about this would be here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=php%20curl%20spoof%20user%20agent

Amazon S3 HTTPS not loading with Chrome and wget on Linux
works here in Ubutnu Linux with Chromium and with wget. It only works in wget if you put " " around the URL, which contains special characters. Otherwise I do get 403 forbidden. I receive a jpeg file, 5.1k. It looks like the same drawing I get on chromium. Wget and Python download manager?
All you need to do is use event handlers. For example, you could have a text control where you copy and paste the download URL. Then you would have a button to add that download to a ListCtrl or better, an ObjectListview widget. Now you have a way of showing a list of downloads. You could start the download when you add the item or start all the downloads with a separate button. Or you could use the second button to download stuff in order instead of in parallel. Since downloading a file is a long running process, you'll want to do the downloading part inside a thread. You should check out one of the following links for details on that: http://wiki.wxpython.org/LongRunningTasks http://www.blog.pythonlibrary.org/2010/05/22/wxpython-and-threads/ You might also find this simple download

How can I download a file from an S3 bucket with wget?
You should be able to access it from a url created as follows: http://{bucket-name}.s3.amazonaws.com/<path-to-file> Now, say your s3 file path is: s3://test-bucket/test-folder/test-file.txt You should be able to wget this file with following url: http://test-bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/test-folder/test-file.txt

what is the use of "wgetrc" command in wget download
The first command simply specifies an alternative configuration file to use instead of the default ~/.wgetrc. You could also specify it using --config=/hom1/spyga/spp/wgetrc_local as argument to wget. This file can contain wgetrc commands that change the behaviour of wget. In this case it's probably done so user and passwords don't have to be supplied on the command line. Specially on multiuser systems it is a security risk to pass passwords on the command line, as that can possibly be viewd by other users, so it's a little better to store them in a file with restricted access permissions instead. This way only processes started by the owner of the file can access it. Another use of the wget startup file is to change it's default settings, user agent etc... It's all documented here.

download an entire directory using wget
You may use this in shell: wget -r --no-parent http://abc.tamu.edu/projects/tzivi/repository/revisions/2/raw/tzivi/ The Parameters are: -r //recursive Download and --no-parent // Don´t download something from the parent directory EDIT: I forgot something important. If you dont want to download the entire content, you may use: -l1 //just download the directory (tzivi in your case) -l2 //download the directory and all level 1 subfolders ('tzivi/something' but not 'tivizi/somthing/foo') And so on. If you insert no -l option, wget will use -l 5 automatically. If you insert a -l 0 you´ll download the whole internet, because wget will follow every link it finds.

Raspberry pi not allowing download of image with wget
What you are trying will only work if the receiving program (in this case, the snapshot.cgi program) is capable of recognizing parameters name user and pwd, but it's absolutely not a standard. Probably it will have worked from your browser because were already logged in. The normal way to add username and password to an url is: http://username:password@192.168.1.110:8080/snapshot.cgi?count=3 If that doesn't work, try adding them to the wget command line as explained in the manual: wget -O [filenamepath] --user=user --password=1234 http://192.168.1.110:8080/snapshot.cgi?count=3 ps: you cannot test the url with embedded username and password with IE because some time ago Microsoft decided to stop supporting that feature.

Using wget to download file to directory and email link/attachment to addresss
If you don't have mutt installed then you can do something like: echo "$(ls -1t ~/files/csv_backups/products_csv/* | head -1)" | mail -s "subject line" email@address.com This will give path to the file in subject body The whole echo $(ls -1t ~/files/csv_backups/products_csv/* | head -1) is because you will not know what the file name is since you are adding timestamp not datestamp. The %H%M%S will add hour minutes and seconds to the filename as well. With the above command we assume the latest file in that directory will be the one downloaded recently. Alternatively you can use uuencode which is part of GNU sharutils. uuencode $(ls -1t ~/files/csv_backups/products_csv/* | head -1) $(ls -1t ~/files/csv_backups/products_csv/* | head -1) | mail -s "subject line" email@address.com

How can I convert a extremly big .dat file to Image files?(Like jpg or something)
The ".dat" file suffix is used broadly, so you'll need to specify more details on what format/source software created the original data. As a guess, from a quick search of ".dat" format microscopy, these tools looks like they might be applicable to your domain: http://gwyddion.net/ or http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/products/bio-formats If you can't find a library for the format/languages you are using, then you'll need to find documentation of the file format, and write a converter (at least, the reading portion of the converter - you can use something like libjpeg to handle the writing portion.)

Extremly long load time for Ember.js application
try using a production release (the minified version of ember.js), it uses a significantly faster get. Are you rendering some very large lists? If so look into using List View. If you have a ton of fields being bound that don't ever change modify them to be unbound. {{unbound someField}} If you are having some weird issue where a template is taking a long time, yet you aren't sure which one it is, you can add some timestamp logging to the beginning of your templates to track down the culprit. At the bottom I whipped up a quick helper. In your template you could use it like so. It will print out a timestamp with that data point passed in. {{logTime this}} {{logTime name}} Ember.Handlebars.helper('logTime', function(someField){ var d = new Date, timestamp = d.toTimeSt

Check out Blob Transfer Utility. It uses the Azure api, and its a good bet that is what Azure Explorer is using as well. BTU is open source so it would be much easier to test if its the cmdlet that is the problem.

Facebook like button https issue: protocol mismatch from http and https
Reviewing the js code on Facebook there are multiple urls containing hard coded strings for http://static .../rsrc.php it's possible those are the files triggering the error. This may be something Facebook needs to update. On a side note, it may be possible to download that js file from Facebook and store it on your server and remove the hard coded http string. I would test this further but I am on my phone at the moment.

How do you enable https and http->https redirects in ring / compojure
It's possible to serve HTTPS with clojure, but it's much more popular to put nginx or something like that in front of your ring server. If you can figure out how to configure jetty, though, run-jetty clearly supports SSL.

Once https page is visited, all subsequent pages are served from https
ok I think I found the reason. The links I am visiting are relative, so "/forum" for example. Once https is in the browser it seems like visiting a relative address is leaving the root as https:// and appending the relative path. I believe the fix here will be to use the full path for the link instead of relative.

Can https fallback to http and security level of https
No, HTTPS never falls back to HTTP automatically. It would take deliberate action by the user. If you're just going to a web page by putting its URL into the address bar, this is easy; for form submission it's harder. Yes, sending plain text over SSL is fine. In fact, sending a hashed password doesn't really increase security much at all -- if someone manages to sniff the connection and gets the hashed password, that's all they need to be able to login to the site. It has one small advantage: if the user uses the same password at multiple sites, learning the hashed password for one site doesn't help them get into another site that uses a different (or no) hash. And it's not likely to be feasible to send salted hashes, since the client doesn't know the salt. A cnonce adds an extra level

Slow Hibernate/C3P0 handling of non-slow Postgres SELECT
I can't be certain this is the cause of your issue, but I think there's a pretty good shot! You have set maxStatements to a value that is way, way too low for the load you are carrying. Try setting maxStatements to zero (turn Statement caching off), or else try setting maxStatementsPerConnection to 20, which I think is what you may have intended. As is, you've set a global max of 20 PreparedStatements to be shared by up to 20 Connections. That's not likely to yield good performance.

Comet with curl or wget
I think you are referring to that one facet of Comet where a server-client connection remains open on an unfinished http request for a long(ish) period of time. I honestly don't think that it would be wise to do that with simple scripting of wget or curl, however it's completely possible to use libcURL (the library that cURL is built around) for such a purpose. Daniel Stenberg, author of cURL and libcURL himself said so: AFAIK, COMET is just HTTP done in a slightly funny way but still plain HTTP and libcurl should be able to do it fine. Even if COMET also is a what wikipedia calls an "umbrella term" which seems to include a lot of different approaches. Just one thing (re the socket remark): do realize that "below" whatever solution you'll choose there will be a socket tran

Can you please try running your script as: var cmd = 'wget -O output.csv URL'; var child = exec( cmd, function (error, stdout, stderr) { console.log('stdout: ' + stdout); console.log('stderr: ' + stderr); if (error !== null) { console.log('exec error: ' + error); } } ); It would be interesting to see what stdout and stderr say. Right, you provided me your stderr which said: http://productdata.zanox.com/exportservice/v1/rest/22791753C32335607.csv?ticket=BC4B91472561713FD43BA766542E9240AFDD01B95B123E40B2C0375E3A68C142 This URL the command line gets is missing everything after the ampersand (& character). wget on behalf of a web user
The short answer is no. The long answer is that it's probably possible, but enormously impractical for the following reasons: Server would need to spoof TCP packets, which it shouldn't be able to. All hops between server and third party would have to accept spoofed traffic, which they shouldn't. Client routers/firewalls would have to accept unsolicited TCP responses, which they won't. Establishing the TCP connection like that would require forwarding all sorts of hairy data from the client to the server, which is a highly platform and network dependent process. In order to authenticate to the third party, you'd have to send your credentials through the process, which is an awful idea. Accepting unsolicited requests in this manner would make you extremely vulnerable to denial of service

Call GWT servlet with wget
I have tried to call GWT webapp using Apache JMeter (so I think wget will be able to do the same thing EDIT. curl instead of wget, thanks to @Chris Lercher, see his comment). Presuming that your application uses GWT-RPC to call server side you can't use JSON. First of all you need to convert JSON into GWT-RPC proprietary format. The simplest way to do it is to catch necessary request from the actual application. You can catch it using Chrome Developer Tools (open your app, turn on preserving log on network tab of developer tools, then force your app to fire request and analyse request payload). It may looks something like this: 7|0|4|http://yourapp/|024F843AF926C69027FD016F55BAC7DF|com.mycompany.RPCProductService|getProducts|1|2|3|4|0| Then you can try to call your app. This request w

Post request with Wget?
man wget says: Only one of --post-data and --post-file should be specified. The full paragraph is: --post-data=string --post-file=file Use POST as the method for all HTTP requests and send the specified data in the request body. --post-data sends string as data, whereas --post-file sends the contents of file. Other than that, they work in exactly the same way. In particular, they both expect content of the form "key1=value1&key2=value2", with percent-encoding for special characters; the only difference is that one expects its content as a command-line parameter and the other accepts its content from a file. In particular, --post-file is not for transmitting files as for

Crontab with wget running one command but not another
OK I finally figured this out and it was really easy, but I will keep the question here for any other people like me who may have struggled. There was originally no line break at the end of the crontab file, so the last command didn't run. When I edited it and added the error checking I added the linebreak on without realising, thus making it work. After a little Googling I found this mentioned in a few places, but it doesn't seem to be too common knowledge. Also, as it threw no error it made it very difficult to spot.
