Database Insertion vs. String concatenation
I prefer SQLite, because you can filter your query and manage your data more easily. What about if you have to modify or delete one columns of your String concatenation? With String this will be more complicated, because you have to split data, find the one you want to modify/delete, then re-insert it on your database. I didn't understand why you have to "query them in 6 attempts" (did you mean to query one by one?): with a simple query you can have a Cursor wich contains all data you need.

Showing a progress bar for a database insertion
The upload is taking too much time and I want to display progress for the number of rows that have been inserted. Is there anyway to do that? It depends on how you're inserting the data. sent to the database to be inserted by a stored procedure. If you're using SqlDbType.Structured parameters you might take note of how far along enumerating the parameter's IEnumerable<SqlDataRecord> value you are. If you're calling a stored procedure once per row then count how many stored procedure calls you've made so far. If you're using SqlBulkCopy you can use the SqlRowsCopied event to receive feedback on the number of rows inserted. If you're using SqlDataAdapter you can look at the RowUpdated and RowUpdating events. Using something else? Read the fine manual for what feedback op

php-mysql database apostrophe and comma insertion
Try something like mysql_real_escape_string, or if using PDO, use PDO::quote. And please please please read up on SQL injection attacks. It is not just a matter of getting failed queries, it is a matter of having an attacker get access to your entire database, like all other user's information. Even better is to use prepared statements. This would look something like this: <?php //Use of $pid in the table name is strange here (see comments section) and is // dangerous unless you're generating it yourself entirely from known information // sources. Otherwise you definitely need to sanitize it, which I don't think // prepared statements or quoting can do. $stmt = $dbh->prepare(" INSERT INTO :_{$pid}_item VALUES ( :pid, :item_brand, :item_code

simple check box insertion into database using mysqli php
For information: If the checkbox is not selected on the form, the field is not sent in the posts array. i.e. the actual fieldname $_POST['PHP'] will not exist. You will need to change your code to something like this. $subject1 = isset($_POST['php']) ? mysqli_real_escape_string($_POST['php']) : 'DEFAULT_VALUE'; $query = "INSERT into sub(Subject1) VALUES('$subject1')"; $result = mysqli_query($query); if ( $result ) { echo 'Record Added'; } else { die('Error: ' . mysqli_error($con)); } This will insert either the value of the checkbox field or your default value if the checkbox was not selected by the user.

Gridview returning empty even when there is data. I want to use data in the gridview to update another database

MySQL insertion into database table with lots of columns (using jdbc)
Are you only wondering about style or also performance? always use prepared statements when you make inserts, this will unclutter your code and make sure the datatypes are all correct. If it is about speed, you might try transactions, or even "load data infile". The load data method requires you to make a temporary CSV file that is directly loader into the database.

Validation not working for file(already exist/type) while insertion of record in mysql database using PHP
Take a look at the documentation for file_exists() and look at some of the reasons why it might fail. file_exists doesn't work for symlinks pointing to non-existing files. This probably isn't your issue. FALSE is returned for files which are inaccessible because of safe mode restrictions. This probably isn't it either. But next, read the note at the bottom: The results of file_exists are cached. This can cause unexpected behavior. You'll want to try the clearstatcache() function. From its documentation: You should also note that PHP doesn't cache information about non-existent files. So, if you call file_exists() on a file that doesn't exist, it will return FALSE until you create the file. If you create the file, it will return TRUE even if you then delete the file. What you migh

The UPDATE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_tbl_Job_tbl_status". The conflict occurred in database "HSE_proj", table "dbo.tbl_status", column 'Status_ID'. Bind images to GridView from database without using handler or httphandler
Is it possible? Yes. Is it a good idea? Not at all, and here's why. An HttpHandler is a way of providing a virtual URL for the image. This allows the browser to handle the GET requests on its own, in an order that's efficient, and asynchronously. This further means that the initial GET request isn't burdened down with conceivably MB's of images. The idea of a website is that it's more efficient to make a lot of smaller requests asynchronously than it is to make one massive request. Why? Because you're already at a disadvantage to provide the user with a good experience when disconnected from the server. Adding insult to that injury by making a massive request that could take minutes, isn't going to add to their joy.

This will not cause a postback on the checkbox per one being run. Instead, while looping through the nested gridview you can call the CheckBoxAdd_OnCheckedChanged sub by just passing the object and same eventargs over to it. For example: Sub CheckBoxAll_OnCheckedChanged(sender as object, e as eventargs) 'Loop through gridview here 'When finding the control CheckBoxAdd just call For each gvRow as GridviewRow in gvStudents.Rows dim CheckBoxAdd as Checkbox = gvRow.FindControl("CheckBoxAdd") CheckBoxAdd.Checked = True 'Or false dependent on CheckBoxAll CheckBoxAl

How to call Parent Gridview's item Id by Nested GridView's Content
Unfortunately, you can't do that. WebGrid will only bind to a single model and because the columns aren't strongly-typed you can't reference a parent class. Change the name of column in Gridview on runtime when sorting of gridview is enabled
I'm guessing you're trying to use AutoGenerateColumns? If this is the case why can't you change the column name in the datasource (using "AS" if the datasource is SQL)? Otherwise, your altering the cell text is short-circuiting the ASP.NET functionality which generates the sorting javascript postback. Alternatively you would do this if you don't use AutoGenerateColumns: myGrid.Columns[1].HeaderText = "test1";
