Display glitches with html emails sent from Java
It can't be same irrespective of mail clients. The client chooses how to display it. You might be able to change the html content to make it "good enough" on all clients, but it will never be exactly the same.

Tkinter method deiconify seems not working on ubuntu(12.04, unity)
What you are seeing is apparently the difference between Windows and non-Windows. It looks to me like the Windows behavior is a bug. At the very least, it's not expected behavior. What you are seeing on ubuntu is what I would expect to see. For a GUI to do anything, the event loop must be running. Everything that happens is the response to an event. The drawing of a window on the screen is a response to an event. A button click is a response to an event. The visual effect of a button being pressed is a response to an event. And so on. When you call iconify, that causes an event to be sent to the app saying "remove the window from the screen". The event loop sees the event, and redraws (or "un"draws) the window. The reverse happens when you call deiconify -- the system gets a redraw event

Ubuntu in Virtualbox cannot connect to github, port closed?
In that case, it sounds like a firewall is blocking the git protocol — you may be able to solve the issue by ensuring that port 9418 is also open. The suggested solution from the linked article is to use HTTP or SSH instead; a recent SO answer notes that SSH and GIT are now very similar in terms of performance.

Swing application won't display in unity when second monitor is on the left
Okay it's a simple as private static void createAndShowGUI() { //Create and set up the window. JFrame frame = new JFrame("HelloWorldSwing"); frame.setLocation (50, 50); ... setLocation copes just fine with the multiple monitors. It's just that the default location (if setLocation is not called) appears to be off screen when monitor 2 is left. 0,0 is at the top left on the left monitor as expected. However if you use setLocation(0,0) the window's close / minimize / maximize buttons are obscured by the unity top bar. I guess some platform-specific stuff is required to integrate with the unity top bar / side bar.

How can I diagnose strange OpenGL glitches?
I was able to successfully run your program on my GTX 660 Ti with driver version 320.49 on windows 8. I was never able to get it to glitch similar to the screen shot you posted. I don't know if you tried this yet, but might be worth it see what happens. vertOut.layer = vert[0].layer; in your geom shader. Have you tried setting that to a constant value say 0 ? If so does it get passed to the fragment shader with out any problems and able to run for the full 3000 frames without any glitches? If this works you know that its probably not the texture array getting messed up, and has something to do with the calculation of the layer values. If this shows the glitches, it could be more with the texture array getting messed up somewhere along the line, and your geom shader is fine.

Glitches on webkit-animation on Chrome
Here's a real answer so you can mark it as correct answer. Sorry for the duplicate. I have no solution out of the box right now, but I can tell you that it's caused by the right-aligned text. It "shakes" when the browser recalculate the text position while animating. You should try to set the element width (mixed with overflow:hidden) to avoid this recalculation.

Visual glitches during jQuery.animate
It looks like that when jQuery animates plugin.ui.content it changes the height AND the padding. When the animation stops, for a reason that I still need to understand, the proper padding is reapplied and suddenly you can see the glitch. I have no idea why that happens, but I guess I know how you could solve it. Do not animate the padding in plugin.ui.content but create an inner div and apply the padding there. It should do the trick.

Firefox and Chrome 3D transforms glitches
I believe that you have to move the back card 1px in the z direction to stay over the front card. (translateZ(1px);) More or less the same that you tried to do with z-index, but in 3D space. I tried to do it in the live example, but there was way too much code to find it easily. You should give simplified examples to help people help you OK, finally got it. It wasn't the base div but the figure: .card-wrap figure { -webkit-transform: translateZ(1px); }

How to avoid glitches on superposed objects with openGL?
This is called Depth Fighting or Z-Fighting and is caused, that after projection the depth values are subjected to rounding and when depth testing happens the winner of the depth test depends on the rounding of the depth values of the participating fragments. Is there any way to fix this without offsetting all my objects ? Yes, there are some techniques using the stencil buffer, with the caveat, that it works only for convex geometry. First you render your overlapping objects with depth testing and depth writes, but without color writes, setting a stencil mask. Next iteration you enable back face culling and draw with depth test disable, stencil test enabled (pass on the used stencil value) and color writes enabled. Within the region of the stencil mask things will overdraw according

Facebook Unity SDK has error when send request with custom friends in Unity Webplayer
One of the Facebook software engineers here. Are you passing in null to the data or title param for FB.AppRequest()? There's a bug where it doesn't handle that correctly currently. Either exclude that or pass in an empty string. We'll get that fix ASAP. Thanks for finding that. Update: The latest SDK version has that fix.

Is it practical to start a Unity game from an Android app and revert back from Unity to the app?
You should be able to have two activities in your app, one using your java code and another with the Unity game. Android is already pretty good at switching between activities. Check out this: http://developer.android.com/training/basics/firstapp/starting-activity.html You'll probably need to add your Java project as a plugin in Unity and override the AndroidManifest.xml in the Unity project to load the Java activity. Check out this documentation on extending android projects in Unity: http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/PluginsForAndroid.html

Xcode cannot parse exported project from Unity 4 after being upgraded from unity 3
Some Unity packages install editor scripts that modify the XCode project after it's generated. These scripts can cause the symptom described, if they have a bug, or if they subtly interfere with each other. Search your project for OnPostprocessBuild calls, try disabling them one-by-one, generate a fresh XCode project each time, and see if it starts opening with XCode. If it does start working, diff the working and non-working versions of Unity-iPhone/project.pbxproj, and see if you can figure out why.

Unity iOs - screen gets black when changing rotation while Unity is paused
Not sure if you have fixed this, Its been a while... But the reason that your UnityViewController is not functioning properly is because a view controller that is not visible will not receive rotation events. Because you are setting your view controller as the root view controller, the UnityDefaultViewController defined in "iPhone_View.mm" is not receiving rotation events. I have been studying Unity's rotation for a while now as I have my own issue with a similar setup. There are a few things that you might be able to try: In iPhone_View.mm there is a function that is defined called: UpdateOrientationFromController(UIViewController* controller) that might be able to solve your problem. You would want to call this function on the view controller that you designed yourself where you plac

Unity Register For One Interface Multiple Object and Tell Unity Where to Inject them
In the example below you have an interface implemented twice and injected on demand into two different client classes, just as you request. The trick is to use named registrations. class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { IUnityContainer container = new UnityContainer(); container.RegisterType<IFoo, Foo1>("Foo1"); container.RegisterType<IFoo, Foo2>("Foo2"); container.RegisterType<Client1>(new InjectionConstructor(new ResolvedParameter<IFoo>("Foo1"))); container.RegisterType<Client2>(new InjectionConstructor(new ResolvedParameter<IFoo>("Foo2"))); Client1 client1 = container.Resolve<Client1>(); Client2 client2 = container.Resolve<Client2>(); } } public interface IF

When you are done with the cursor, you need to call Cursor.close(). Leaving it not closed leads to memory leaks. E.g.: Cursor cursor = null; try { cursor = getContentResolver().query(myUri, MY_PROJECTION, null, null, null); if (cursor != null && cursor.moveToFirst()) { // moar code } } finally { if (cursor != null) { cursor.close(); } }

Unity.AutoRegistration ?? Convention Based Registration Unity

Java Swing Graphical Glitches Dealing with Transparency and Images
Since I can't comment I have to put this as an answer: As trashgod mentioned, this problem can be caused by a missing super.paintComponent(g) call however you don't seem to be overriding the paintComponent method at all (at least you didn't show it here). If you do override the paintComponent method of a JFrame or any JPanels, you need to have: public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); //rest of your drawing code.... } But if you haven't used one at all then the problem may be caused by something else.

Resolving Unity Dependencies without a Unity.MVC
You're doing it in the right way. With DI you can remove dependencies from your application. So that you can get a "Repository agnostic" application. And you have effectively done it. At least on the projects that 'declare' the dependencies. However, when the application has to run, you need to specify the concrete objects which will be used for the "declared" abstract dependencies (interface, abstract class) is required. You do this by registering the types which object will be used for each abstract dependency. In you sample, when a IUnitOfWork or a DbContext, an instance of MyDbContext is provided. So the projects that 'declare' the dependencies are completely independent of a particular implementation. However, when you register the dependent types, you're loosing that independen

Ubuntu: How to upgrade ubuntu 11 to ubuntu 13?
Ubuntu 11.04 is apparently not "supported" anymore... it was not a LTS (Long Term Support) release (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/10/ubuntu-11-04-support-ends-today) There seems to be an option of "updating" things on "old-releases" (but they are not actively maintained/updated anymore), by editing your source repositories location: http://askubuntu.com/questions/101479/are-existing-updates-available-after-end-of-support. However, if you want to update to a 2013 version, probably the best you can do is to backup your data and configurations and install a new version from scratch. Pay attention to the fact that non-LTS versions stop being supported after around 2 years.

The second request utilizes the length header, reads the designated number of bytes, then closes the connection gracefully. What platform (server installed on ubuntu vs ubuntu server) to prefer for website development?
There seems to be a lot of confusion in your post. Based on your lack of experience with GNU/Linux, I would suggest you use desktop Ubuntu. The difference between Ubuntu server and Ubuntu desktop is that the server edition is targetted to experienced users, so you get a very minimal distribution. No GUI, nothing preinstalled except the bare minimum. As for your comment about Apache/Glassfish, the two aren't comparable. Apache is the name of the open source community which looks after a lot of products. Very often people call Apache's httpd just "apache", which is a web server. Glassfish is a Java EE application server (Oracle's reference implementation) so probably a good place to start with Java EE.

Same android cmake git project compiles well on one Ubuntu machine but does not compile on another Ubuntu machine even the entire project is the same
whoa! Solved! It was really a weird behaviour from cmake: I had three files conf.c that must be merged into a static library. When cmake run the AR program to create the library, it executed a command that was like: ar cr dir1/source1.c dir1/source2.c ... dft/conf.c rdft/conf.c ar r reodft/conf.c dir2/source3.c so, maybe due to the huge number of object files that were to be linked, cmake splitted ar commands in two command, BUT second command overwrited one of the two file conf.c that were added with the first command, so symbols defined with the first ar command were lost! This is clearly a bug in ar because even if the source file is the same, maybe the content may vary, thus symbols are not to be deleted. Thanks to all! Your suggestions brought me to the right solution!

unity or unity.mvc4 for MVC4 application
You will want to add the Unity.MVC4 package, since it provides the integration between Unity and ASP.NET MVC 4. However, Unity.MVC4 depends on Unity, so by adding that you will get both packages. You will also need something like this to configure the integration: var container = new UnityContainer(); // configure container here (RegisterType, etc.), then make sure MVC 4 uses Unity... DependencyResolver.SetResolver(new Unity.Mvc4.UnityDependencyResolver(container));

Cannot access ubuntu server from other machines other than the machine which is hosting the virtual machine which is my ubuntu server
First of all make sure in the setting of the virtual machine that it is in Bridged Adaptor type connectivity. Give a static ip to the virtual machine using sudo ifconfig eth0 10.0.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 the above is an example. You got what I mean. 3.Third, Try pinging the virtual machine with the base machine running the vbox to make sure they are connected. ping ipaddress-basemachine 4 . Now if everything is working fine from there then connect with this virtual machine with other base machine using Remote Desktop Viewer or any other similar application. Specify, the ip-address of the vbox and username, password. It will be able to connect with it now. 5 . If it still is not able to then try to check the firewall rules on both the virtual box machine and the base machine

The reason your program fails to reverse a list is because when the user chooses menu option 9, all they get is a print statement declaring the code isn't working yet. At a high level, reversing a linked list can be accomplished like this: for each element in the input list, from beginning to end: remove element from input list place element in the beginning of the output list return output list

ResolutionFailedException with Unity
Look very closely at the error message. Notice this part: Message=The type IImageManager does not have an accessible constructor. Notice the type name is IImageManager, not ImageManager. Somewhere along the line you lost your type mapping. Your registration of FileImageManager has a problem as well, since you don't specify the folder parameter in the registration, so Unity has no idea what string to pass.

Unity C# Problems
You probably want to write inventory.ItemID = 1; instead of Inventory.ItemID = 1;. That is if you want to set the ItemId of the result of player.GetComponent<Inventory>(); to 1. You are trying to call a method on the class Inventory and not on the object inventory, and that does not give any sense if the method is not static.

Unity: NullReferenceException
It seems that either Main is null or you didn't call Towers.Start() before the line causing the problem. When initialising static fields like that, it can sometimes be better to use static initialisation where you declare the fields, by calling a private static method that returns the initialisation data. Doing that means that you don't need a separate Start() method that you must remember to call. For example: public class Towers: MonoBehaviour { public static float[] d = initD(); public static float[] r = initR(); public static float[] s = initS(); public static float[] u = initU(); private static float[] initD() { return new [] { 1f, 3f, 5f, 7f, 9f, 11f,
