XCode--When do I sign with developer provisioning profile vs distribution profile?
Failed to get task sounds like you're trying to run this build via Xcode on device. If that's the case, you want to use a development profile, not a distribution profile (AdHoc). If you're attempting to create an enterprise release build, you'll want to select your target and choose the iOS device option, then use Product > Archive to create a release build.

Why does XCode switch the profile from automatically selected one to the iOS Team Profile
After much nashing of teeth and hair pulling finally tracked down the cause of this, dont you just love xcode error msgs. Although the correct mobile provision was automatically selected in Debug line of the code signing section, the sub selection line "Any iOS SDK" had the team profile selected somehow. Changing this to match the automatic selection solved the problem.

IOS Provisioning profile for business distribution
Here is a link provided by apple themselves on how to distribute in-house business apps. http://www.apple.com/business/accelerator/deploy/app-distribution.html I'm not going to copy everything over cause there is quite a lot, but it basically says you can distribute your apps over a wireless network using a private server and an Enterprise Distribution provisioning profile. Another link that is from that site is http://help.apple.com/iosdeployment-apps/mac/1.1/#app43ad8905 which gives a walkthrough on how to set this all up. If you have any questions just ask. I have given a basic summary but I can go into more detail if you don't understand.

Shall i sign my app with my Production Certificate or Provisioning Profile Distribution?
If you haven't already created distribution provisioning profile for your apps - you need to create and select it for publishing it to the app store. Your lite and full versions need two separate provisioning profiles unless you are upgrading the content through in app purchases. Detailed explanation: Usually for debugging you either use the XCode generated team provisioning profile or developer provisioning profile. For pushing to the app store you should use the Distribution provisioning profile. XCode provisioning profile recommendations are very useful when you are automating builds in continuous integration process. Since you are the only developer I guess it doesn't hurt choosing the exact profile from the list of profiles.

A valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found
Assuming that your certificates are all valid and properly installed and that your devices are all properly registered, the most likely cause is a mismatch between the App ID in the provisioning profile and the Bundle Identifier in the application. Go to your provisioning profile and see what App Id it is associated with. The Bundle Identifier in the application Target in Xcode must match this App Id. If the App Id contains a wild card (for example com.mydomain.* then the Bundle Identifier must be com.mydomain.anything. If the App Id does not contain a wild card then the Bundle Identifier must match exactly. If the App Id and Bundle Identifier don't match then you will need to either change the Bundle Identifier or create a new Provisioning Profile using an App Id that matches the Bun

Is it possible to modify the bundle and re-sign an app store signed IPA with a wildcard ah hoc profile?
Theoretically that should be possible. The IPA is just a ZIP file, rename it and extract, then you can modify it to your hearts content. Then resign it using codesign, and you should be rockin. I'm a bit confused what vulnerability you are exploiting; you specified that you're signing it with a development profile and installing it on a development device. You aren't really breaking any of the sandbox security by doing this. If you were able to modify the IPA contents and get it to run without resigning it, now that would be an exploit.

Transfer iOS executable from Xcode
Based on user's suggestions, I did some research and got my answer. Just want to share with anyone who has the same question... What I should be doing is to make the app available for Beta testing. Below are the steps to do so. Register all test devices. Create distribution certificate. Create ad hoc provisioning profile. Archive and validate your app. Create iOS App Store Package. Install app on all test devices. Get crash reports from testers. For more details, please search for 'Beta Testing Your iOS App' in Apple Developer Center.

Compilation fails in Xcode 4.6 while creating archive for adhoc distribution.
1-Try to open the organizer (Window -> Organizer), then the Projects tab. Select your project then hit the delete button next to the derived data path (to the right). Confirm and let it re-index your project. 2-Go to your project folder, Press on YOURPROJECTNAME.xcodeproj and right click and go to show package contents . Leave the project.pbxproj file, but delete the project.xcworkspace file, any .pbxuser files, and the entire userdata folder. I hope it works..

Signed 32-bit addition in batch file, giving Invalid Number
I repeat the answers of David Ruhmann and Endoro with some extra information. It is explained at Rules for how CMD.EXE parses numbers why value -2147483648 results in an invalid number error message on parsing the number on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and perhaps also Windows 8 while there is no problem on Windows XP. The code for string to signed/unsigned int conversion is written poorly in source code of cmd.exe and therefore not working right for minimum signed 32-bit integer number. One solution for this batch file is using set /a ADDR+=%%~zA instead of set /a ADDR=%ADDR%+%%~zA as this results in the command line set /a ADDR+=312704 instead of set /a ADDR=-2147483648+312704 But that is not the only solution for @echo off set VALUE1=-2147483648 set VALUE2=312704 set /a RESUL

Codesign of Dropbox API fails in Xcode 4.6.3: "code object is not signed at all"
This might help somone: I finally figured out the solution by trial and error. In my case I had a folder name that matched the “Product Name” variable under build settings. This also matched the entire project name! So I simply changed one field. I changed the “Build Settings” -> “Product Name” . The value of MySpecialApp was changed to My-SpecialApp. That was simply it! I then logged back into the Apple developer portal and created a new App ID and mobile provisioning profiles for development and distribution and the rest is history. My releases now work when deployed via the Ad Hoc distribution. A final note on this. This is definitely a bug that Apple should either alert the user that they have done something wrong and enable some sort of automated cor

No Identity with Provisioning Profile in XCode
You can try CMD Shift 2, going to the Devices tab, and refresh the provisioning profiles and/or the team. It should ask you to log in - and hopefully will update your profile for you. If it doesn't, it's the same every time. Your device needs to be added to the devices on the portal by a team admin. You said you have a certificate. If not using the team provisioning profile, you have to add your certificate to the profile you are using. Then make sure to quit xcode and reopen it after the changes.

Compiling a C# with x86 profile in build still receives invalid win32 app
In Visual Studio Solution Explorer, right-click on your project and select Properties. On the Build tab, make sure that Platform is set to x86. At the beginning of your program, add code to see if it's running in a 32-bit process: Console.WriteLine("64-bit process = {0}", Environment.Is64BitProcess); (If you have a GUI app, display a message box with that info.) That should say false. If it doesn't say false, then you aren't creating a 32-bit application. If it does say false and your application won't run on your 32-bit machine, then it's likely that you're copying the wrong file. Add this line: Console.WriteLine(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().CodeBase); That'll tell you where the file you're executing is located. Copy from there to your servers. You say that

Permanently remove automatic provisioning profile managed by Xcode
Have a look on xcode build settings. You should only choose your team in general preferences tab. Then go to build settings tab and choose the right provisioning profile under "code signing" section. It should fix the issue, if it doesn't remove certificates from keychain and re-download/install the right certificate from developer center.

XCode not accepting my CLLocationCoordinate2D. Says "invalid region"
MKCoordinateSpan accepts a range in degrees longitude and degrees latitude. You are passing it 250,250. The entire earths longitude only goes from -180 to 180 and latitude from -90 to 90. You need to convert what I am assuming is a measurement of 250 meters to longitude and latitude. Or alternatively use the function MKCoordinateRegionMakeWithDistance MKCoordinateRegion MKCoordinateRegionMakeWithDistance( CLLocationCoordinate2D centerCoordinate, CLLocationDistance latitudinalMeters, CLLocationDistance longitudinalMeters );

Non-PIE Binary - The executable '' is not a Position Independent Executable
I believe a Position Independent Executable is a program that can be placed at any memory address and still run. So typically all data is referred to by relative memory addresses. If you tried to refer to a fixed memory address, that memory address might be outside your program entirely if it gets loaded at a different location in memory. I have no idea what the particular ins and outs of PIE are for iOS.

gmon.out is not created when executable forks another executable
But gmon.out is not created when I fork another executable It probably does. It simply has the same name as all the other gmon.out files. They just silently overwrite each other. GNU, in all its infinite wisdom, recommends that each child process that you want to profile be executed in its own current directory. Use mkdir and chdir in your code as needed. Since gmon.out is written out as the process finishes, it is only necessary to chdir before calling exit. I also recommend looking at valgrind. Among other nice things, it has its output files named something.somethingelse.$PID.

Decode a high profile H.264 stream to baseline profile
The Profile is an encoding setting, not a decoding setting. If you have a video in Main profile, and want it in Baseline, you must decode then re-encode (This is call transcode). The problem is that your device can not decode Main profile in hardware. You can decode in software, but that will likely be slow (possibly slower than real time) and kill the battery. You best bet is it transcode the video first on a PC, or a cloud transcoding service before sending to the device.

Xcode 4.6 doesn't recognize linked frameworks correctly for Xcode 5.0 created project
The link binary with libraries is not the issue here. You have to confirm your Header Search Paths in your build settings. I think Xcode 5 might use a different variable for it, and that is why Xcode 4.6 will get confused (just a guess though). Anyway, confirm that the path to those headers is in your Header Search Path. The Crashlytics app will automatically add it for you, actually.

No, it is not currently possible to consume a C# library from Objective-C. I know it's bit tricky to do trial and error, but the basic principle is to maintain same compilation options for the file tree being included.
