Setting appropriate HTTP Content-Length header in WSGI middleware after manipulating content
You dont need to worry about deleting/adding/changing content-length header, that will be auto handled by the server when it sends out the response. Sending a wrong length header might create problems for your website viewers / internet browsers. You can test the Content-length headers here - http://www.dekho-ji.com/website-diagnostics-curl-http-request-response-headers-online

In node.js, how do I get the Content-Length header in response to http.get()?
Not every server will send content-length headers. For example: http.get('http://www.google.com', function(res) { console.log(res.headers['content-length']); // undefined }); But if you request SO: http.get('http://stackoverflow.com/', function(res) { console.log(res.headers['content-length']); // 1192916 }); You are correctly pulling that header from the response, google just doesn't send it on their homepage (they use chunked encoding instead).

What is the correct method for calculating the Content-length header in node.js
Content-Length header must be the count of octets in the response body. payload.length refers to string length in characters. Some UTF-8 characters contain multiple bytes. The better way would be to use Buffer.byteLength(string, [encoding]) from http://nodejs.org/api/buffer.html. It's a class method so you do not have to create any Buffer instance.

How do I evenly position content regardless of the length of content?
You can use width:80%; (replace 80 with desired value), combined with min-width and max-width` properties to achieve what you want, at the same time maintaining your layout. If you want just the content to be centered, and the border to be on the outer element, see this JSFIDDLE ONE. Or if you want the content to have the border, see this JSFIDDLE TWO. Hope that this was of some help.

Cross-domain AJAX withCredentials, PHP returns header content-lenght, but no content
When setting headerAccess-Control-Allow-Credentials to true, you cannot use a wildcard for header Access-Control-Allow-Origin. That is, a specific host must be specified. Instead of: Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * Use: Access-Control-Allow-Origin: http://safedomain.com You can even set the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header to the Origin header received in the request. Not sure about PHP, but using the Java Servlets API: String origin = request.getHeader("Origin"); request.setHeader("Access-Control-Allow-Origin", origin);

How to display header content without overlapping with non fixed content
In order to effectively use position: fixed you should accompany it with positioning styles like top and left. With that and knowing the height of the fixed elements, you can apply padding-top to the static (non-fixed) element. #dvHeaderMenu { top: 0; width: 100%; height: 50px; z-index: 2; background: #CCCCFF; } #dvanotherContentwithFixed { top: 50px; width: 100%; height: 20px; z-index: 2; background: #FFCCCC; } #NonFixedContent { padding-top: 70px; } Example: http://jsfiddle.net/cjmvV/

c# raw socket ip header total length
SocketFlags.Peek means the data returned will be left intact for a subsequent read - that's why you get same data after reading again. To read subsequent packets you don't want to use Peek, just perform a regular read with no special flags. According to documentation: If the datagram you receive is larger than the size of the buffer parameter, buffer gets filled with the first part of the message, the excess data is lost and a SocketException is thrown. Is that the behavior you're after?

Header data aligned to natural length?
Fields that are 16 bit long (2 bytes) will start at offsets divisible by 2 bytes (byte 0, 2, 4, etc). Fields that are 32 bits will start at byte 0, 4, 8, etc. The offset is relative to the start of the header (and of the packet). For example, if you have a header with a 16 bit (2 byte) field A and a 32 bit (4 byte) field B it will have to be arranged as follows: A : 2 bytes padding(zero) : 2 bytes B : 4 bytes Here A starts at offset 0 and B starts at offset 4.

libpcap - packet ip header length is zero bytes with loopback tcp requests
ethernet = (struct sniff_ethernet*)(packet); ip = (struct sniff_ip*)(packet + SIZE_ETHERNET); <-- the result is 0 If you're capturing on the loopback interface, that code is wrong. Not all interfaces on OS X (or any other OS that supports libpcap/WinPcap) provide Ethernet headers; you need to call pcap_datalink() to find the link-layer type of the capture device (or capture file, if you're reading a capture file with pcap_open_offline()) and, based on that, parse the link-layer headers of the packet. See the list of pcap link-layer header types for a complete list. DLT_EN10MB is the link-layer header type for Ethernet devices ("10MB" is historical, and refers to 3MB vs. 10MB Ethernet, which had different headers; DLT_EN10MB applies to 10 MB and 100 MB and 1 GB and 10 GB and 40 GB a

DIV for modal display that has fixed header and footer, scrollable content, and no fixed pixel values for content height
I think you need a position : absolute; instead of fixed for your header and your footer. Fixed is relative to the screen, when absolute and relative are actually dependent on the last layer with a non-static position. A fiddle would be appreciated. EDIT: Does that fiddle look more like what you expected ? So it seems like the position: absolute suited your needs for the position of the header and the footer. So you just needed to do the same for the body to position it perfectly. But then you face a new problem. You wanted your header and footer to have a fixed size, but want the body to fill the 'rest'. I cannot possibly think of a solution to do that, except by giving to the header and footer a height in percentage. That's what I did in my fiddle. So that's the best I could find.

Something like this pseudo code: $query = "SELECT * FROM posts WHERE id_youtube = '$id' LIMIT 1"; $result = mysql_query($query); if(mysql_num_rows($result) == 1) $query = "SELECT yourColumns FROM posts WHERE id_youtube = '$id'"; display_the_info(); else mysql_query("INSERT IGNORE INTO posts (id, title, id_youtube,date) VALUES (null,'$q', '$id',now())"); You should also use myslqi functions, not mysql one.

$('body').append("<?php include ('content.php'); ?>"); Don't do that! There is no good reason to do it, and most likely you'll hit a problem with line breaks and/or unescaped quotes. Just add <?php include ('content.php'); ?> directly at the end of the body, then grab the height from document.ready (you were almost there): $(document).ready(function() { var height = $('.content').height(); alert(height) // or do something with it }); You mentioned .load('content.php') in the question. If the direct php include I suggested doesn't suit your needs, do something like this: $(document).ready(function() { // You probably want a more specific container instead of body $(body).load('content.php', function(){ // You can only read the height inside this

I guess the Content-Length header should be automatically included. In my case using RestEasy (not Jersey) it is. Can you confirm that the header is not included, e.g. using curl or Firebug? Finally, just to be 100% sure: Content-Length is the length of the HTTP content (the body, see here), not the size of the list, as returned by List.size().

Something like: var filePath = './output/' + req.param('id') +'.' + imageFormat; this.write(filePath, function (writeErr) { var stat = fs.statSync(filePath); res.writeHead(200, { 'Content-Type': 'image/' + imageFormat, 'Content-Length': stat.size }); var readStream = fs.createReadStream(filePath); readStream.pipe(res); // async delete the file from filesystem ... }); You end up getting all of the headers you need including your new content-length to return to the client.

Checking length of text-box content in javascript with a regex
To check a string's length and format with a regex, you can use numbered repeaters: ^[a-z]{1,128}$ However, if you have a succession of unkown numbers of character classes, you can use zero-length positive lookeahead at the beginning of the regex: ^(?=.{1,128}$)[a-z]*[a-z0-9]*$ So for your regex: ^(?=.{1,128}$)[A-Za-z.]*[A-Za-z][-A-Za-z0-9,/()&:. ]*$ If you can though, I'd still suggest checking myString.length instead.

IIS 7 - Add Content to HTML-Header
Not sure if I understand. If you want to add a javascript tag you just paste it into your HTML, If you want to add it dynamically than use server-side code (ASP, php etc) Maybe you want the server to understand javascript file types. For this you need to add a MIME type. In IIS you can add MIME types using the IIS manager -> http://www.hosting.com/support/iis7/add-a-new-file-extension-or-mime-type-in-iis7-- File extension | JS ---------------------------------------- MIME type: | application/javascript EDIT: Seeing as you want to send parameters publicly for use in the javascript, you can attach the variables to the window object and then use them in your JS file. jQuery: Content type header is not set
You are using JSONP as your data type. JSONP causes jQuery to simply insert a script tag into your document, which will then get pulled in as if it was a normal browser request. As a result, you cannot set headers on it. If you do not have a specific need to use JSONP (you are using the same domain), then use JSON instead. If you are making request across domains, look into using CORS (which may not work in older browsers).

Header Content Type Charset UTF-8 with BOM
There's absolutely no need to include a BOM in an HTML file. (If it really includes different encodings, then a UTF-8 BOM would be broken, so it sounds like you're a bit confused.) If you expect the file to be saved to disk and used in places where UTF-8 isn't expected, you could add a meta element to indicate the encoding as well: <meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=utf-8'> If in fact you are using a different encoding than UTF-8, then rather than a BOM, just change the value in the meta attribute. If you really must have a BOM in there then you'll need to make sure that it's first thing you output, e.g. echo "xEFxBBxBF"; See How can I output a UTF-8 CSV in PHP that Excel will read properly? for an example where that actually makes sense.
