'System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException' occurred in wp8 app
First build a working client to this service from desktop C#. Then compare the outgoing of this working client to the output of wp8. Also turn on WCF trace on the server to see extra error details.

While returning a DataContract from a WCF function, I'm getting this error: "An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response"
That's a pretty generic exception in WCF so you'll need to enable WCF tracing to get more detailed info. Just guessing but look at this MSDN forum thread where the list contained complex objects that exceeded the default internal object limits in WCF. Once you enable WCF tracing, you should have a better idea of what's going on.

WCF after executing service method. System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: The remote server returned an error: NotFound
Silverlight always throws NotFound if the WCF throws an error, because the HTTP response code would be 500: this error code forces Silverlight to throw NotFound. So, first of all try to debug the WCF while doing this call. If you can't do that, make the WCF log the error somewhere. If you like having the correspondent error thrown on the silverlight side, you have to use a server WCF behavior that makes the WCF answer with 200 code even if an error occurred. More information here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee844556(v=vs.95).aspx

WCF - There was no endpoint listening at http://xxxxx.xxxx/Service1.svc
You seem to have confused with service endpoint and mex endpoint. They are separate endpoints. Change your config on server to this: <endpoint contract="IService1" binding="wsHttpBinding" address="" /> <endpoint contract="IMetadataExchange" binding="mexHttpBinding" address="mex" /> Then recreate proxy.

android-async-http library get http response header from Response Handler
@Zapnologica, it seems, that author of library provided changes based on this pull request: https://github.com/loopj/android-async-http/pull/170 But it is not released yet, at least latest available .jar version of library is 1.4.3 and it does not include these changes, unfortunately. The only option we may try to use is cloning/forking git repo and including its sources into your project. UPDATE: Seems library will soon be added to maven central repo, but at least now I was able to add 1.4.4 SNAPSHOT build using gradle for my project with such config changes: repositories { ... //android-async-client repo maven { url "https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/" } } And then in dependencies section: compile 'com.loopj.android:android-async-http:1.

detecting or avoiding client CommunicationException when server closes keep-alive http connection
You can try disabling Keep-alive in your binding: var binding = new System.ServiceModel.BasicHttpBinding(); uri = new Uri(/*the correct uri for the service*/); address = new System.ServiceModel.EndpointAddress(u); CustomBinding cbinding = new CustomBinding(binding); foreach (BindingElement be in cbinding.Elements) { if (be is HttpTransportBindingElement) ((HttpTransportBindingElement)be).KeepAliveEnabled = false; } service = new PositioningControlPortTypeClient(cbinding, address);

Extracting elements from an HTTP XML response--HTTP Client & Java
Instead of trying to extract the value with string manipulation, try to use Java's inbuilt ability to parse XML. That's a much better approach. Http Components returns responses in an XML format - there's a reason for that. :) Here's probably one way to solve your problem: // Parse the response using DocumentBuilder so you can get at elements easily DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = docBuilder.parse(response); Element root = doc.getDocumentElement(); // Now let's say you have not one, but 'n' nodes that contain the value // you're looking for. Use NodeList to get a list of all those nodes and just // pull out the tag/attrib

HTTP status 401, but expected data in HTTP response
I don't think the entity could theoretically be the data that would be sent to an authorized request. From RFC 2616: If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity might include relevant diagnostic information. So it's legal to present entity to a unauthenticated user. As you said, authorized data should not be returned to a client... but in your case, the entities are just both the same for authenticated and unauthenticated users. On the other hand, Google's login page uses 200 as the response code for failing to authenticate. Note that: the response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate hea

AngularJS $http and how to get error response

ASP.NET custom error page HTTP response
You are right, ASP.NET behaves a bit funky when customErrors are enabled. In short, you can set redirectMode="ResponseRewrite" for customErrors and specifically set the response code in your error.aspx page. I've blogged the details here: Keep ASP.NET error pages out of search engines.

How do I read a HTTP response if the server returned a 502 error?
Modify your code along these lines so that you can get the errorstream rather than throw the IOException HttpURLConnection httpConn = (HttpURLConnection)connection; InputStream is; if (httpConn.getResponseCode() >= 400) { is = httpConn.getErrorStream(); } else { is = httpConn.getInputStream(); } BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(is)); while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) { response += line; } reader.close();

Angular $http error callback response is always undefined
Per the $http docs, body is The response body transformed with the transform functions. With the 401 (Unauthorized) error you are getting back, it is quite possible there is no body being returned, hence why it is undefined. If you want to log the error code, log the status parameter instead. It contains the HTTP Status Code, which should be uniform, unlike response bodies.

IE9 XmlHttpRequest returns 12019 error instead of HTTP/417 response code
If clearing the cache doesn't help, it's likely that this is related to how URLMon wraps certain HTTP error status codes; for instance IE9 and below would convert a HTTP/204 response into a bogus 1223 status code (see http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/bugs.asp) This problem was fixed in IE10 such that the server's response status is correctly returned to the script.

Tomcat error: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 405 for URL:
You're using HTTP servlets; Tomcat is running as a Web server. You have to speak HTTP from the client, not serialized Java objects. If you are wanting to use Java serialization, you need to use sockets. If you want to use servlets, you need to use some form of putting your information into HTTP; JSON (with Jackson) is a good choice.

Getting 500: Internal Server Error as a response from webserver while sending http request from javascript
Just a guess: check the content of _DEAL_ID_, userObj.id, userObj.name and roleName. One of these may contain the / character, what the server-side parser complains about. Another guess: delete <soapenv:Header /> or change it to <soapenv:Header></soapenv:Header>.

Getting error "java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 406", when calling servlet method
Problem seems to be with the client, try adding accept headers, I guess you are not using browser. If the Web server detects that the data it wants to return is not acceptable to the client, it returns a header containing the 406 error code. If the problem is still not solved, please add the stack trace.

Oracle Error Has Occurred:ORA-20011: Execute_system: Error while receiving
Oracle has reserved the error numbers between ORA-20000 and ORA-20999 for us users. Which means that someone at your site has programmed their own user defined error. The package issues a RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20011,'Execute_system: Error while receiving.'); statement. Either directly in the package body or indirectly via a database trigger on one of the tables the package is modifying. Regards, Rob.

spring form validation: HTTP Status 500 - An exception occurred processing JSP page
First thing to notice: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Neither BindingResult nor plain target object for bean name 'command' available as request attribute This exception means that you haven't specified or specified incorrect model attribute. I've already commented that modelattribute="Candidate" should be modelAttribute="Candidate". Exception is saying that it can not find command object, because it is default one. So you haven't declared your model attribute at all. Also you have to have a class for e.g. Candidate. Which probably you do. public class Candidate { private String name; //getters and setters } Then in your controller create a method: @Controller public class CandidateController { @ModelAttribute("Candidate") public Candidate getCandidate() { retu

Python sending and receiving HTTP POST
Check this example: self.response.write("<html><body><p>Hi there!</p></body></html>") The response buffers all output in memory, then sends the final output when the handler exits. webapp2 does not support streaming data to the client. so basically, response.write must be the last thing you call: def get(self): con = self.request.get("message") self.response.write("you sent: " + con ) Also, I suggest you check this link to read more about POST and GET requests with forms on Appengine. I don't understand what you're trying to do with those two views, but they clash with each other

Receiving a Http Post request on my server
First, you have to make sure you have the line for ScriptService namespace MyName { ... [ScriptService] ... public class MyClass: MyWebService { ... Then you only need to read through the stream to get the Body StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(Context.Request.InputStream); Context.Request.InputStream.Position = 0; String Body= reader.ReadToEnd().ToString(); Context.Request.XXX provides many useful messages for interoperating the request you received. For example - Context.Request.Headers, Context.Request.RawUrl, and Context.Request.HttpMethod.

Google Drive API 1.4 error : Error occurred while sending a direct message or getting the response
I was having the same problem. I got it working eventually; I had a few things wrong. I went to the Google Cloud Console and regenerated and downloaded my key file. Go to APIs & auth->Registered Apps. The ONLY properties I put in the provider object are .ServiceAccountId and .Scope. I had to replace Scope with the actual scope and not use the enum value (This is only a problem because I am using VB). I'm working in Fusion Tables and the scope was rendering as just "Fusiontables" because VB.NET does not use the GetStringValue() enum function. Now I'm using "https://www.googleapis.com/auth/fusiontables". Go here for a list of valid scopes. For the ServiceAccountId, I used the service account "Email address:" with the "@" in it. In other words, first chance exceptions only matter when you are debugging. Here is some MSDN documentation on First and second chance exception handling

End of an HTTP Response
If both the client and the server support HTTP 1.1, and the server does not know the response body size in advance (and therefore cannot send the Content-Length response header), the server should use chunked encoding, which allows the client to find the end of the response body even if the server does not close the TCP connection immediately after sending the response. If HTTP 1.1 cannot be used (because either the client or the server is too old), the chunked encoding cannot be used, and in such cases sending a response without the Content-Length header prevents the server from keeping the TCP connection persistent.

Node.js` "http.get" doesn't return full response body to a browser but just a piece of tag. How to get full response?
Your data event is firing multiple times, but you can only "end" your output once... you should probably refactor your handler as follows... // In /myapppath http.get("http://stackoverflow.com/", function(result) { var responseParts = []; result.setEncoding('utf8'); result.on("data", function(chunk) { //add this chunk to the output to send responseParts.push(chunk); }); result.on("end", function(){ //now send your complete response res.end(responseParts.join('')); }); });

Error trying to save image in file system in Azure Server - A generic error occurred in GDI+
I'm guessing that the issue is with the f drive. You'll find that, occasionally, e: and f: may change upon restart. Since you claimed that things were working, and then suddenly started crashing, I'm thinking that, if you rdp into your role instance, you'll find that approot is now on e: instead of f:. There should be an environment variable, RoleRoot, that you can use for determining what drive your approot is on: Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("RoleRoot");

HTTP response code for a "best try"
Sending the the same status code in both scenarios would not be a good practice. You need to validate if the external service is up and running. In other words you can just consider that as an exceptional scenario. If the external service is not up and running you can trigger that scenario through exceptions. There you will be able to catch up the status code which is returned from that external service. If it's appropriate to your solution you can send that status code or else you can set-up a custom status code and send it back to clients.

how to get attribute from within a http get response
var m = $(k).find("esptitle").attr("title").text(); is the right way to do it conceptually, but .find("esptitle") tries to find tags. You don't have this in your html and it is not an html tag anyway. If you are working with a framework or whatever that uses "esptitle" as keyword or xml tag in sever code, you should be aware that browsers and JavaScript don't have access to this code. They can only work with the generated html and css and whatever the server sends them when they make ajax requests. You also can't call .text() on a result of .attr() because attr returns value of an attribute as string, which I guess is what you actually need. The correct code would be: var m = $(k).find("#mytitle").attr("title");
