Strange MsBuild Error (Everything builds fine in Visual Studio)
Try Rebuild each project of your solution manually in Visual Studio and check if some error appear. I had a similar problem because of two projects with different platform in the same solution (Any CPU and x86).

Strange objectAtIndex beyond bounds error in UITableView
performSelectorOnMainThread with waitUntilDone:NO here: [self.searchKeywordTableView performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(reloadData) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; does not call the method immediately, but later as part of the normal run loop processing. It could therefore happen that cellForRowAtIndexPath is called after you have filtered the array, but before reloadData is called. You should replace that line with an immediate call [self.searchKeywordTableView reloadData];

How to move windows forms from Visual Studio 2010 to Visual Studio 2012
You should be able to just copy the Form files (TheForm.cs and TheForm.designer.cs) to the new project, then add them to the project. Note that you will also need to move any files that form depends upon (if any) before it will work properly.

Visual Studio not using Visual Studio Command Prompt for post-build events
The easiest way is probably just call out to the thing the normal VSXXXX command prompt uses: Ex: CALL ""%ProgramFiles(x86)%Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0VCvcvarsall.bat"" x86 (edit: updated as per Hans's comment)

Using static library from Visual Studio 2008 with Visual Studio 2010
If getting a VC2010 version of the library is out of the question, then you will need to build a DLL using VS2008 that offers the functionality in the VS2008 static library. You will probably not be able to use C++ linkage to this DLL and certainly will not be able to pass std::string directly between the DLL and your main application. This is because the memory layout/interface is different and you will end up with ODR violations and crashes etc (that's if you can even compile/link it that way without tons of errors). So, you'll need to craft a C style API that the DLL exposes for use by your main VS2010 application. Strings will need to be passed as c-style const char* or const wchar_t* strings, or some other struct/opaque pointer. If you can build the DLL in such a way that it is

will visual studio 2012 projects open in visual studio 2010
Depends on what features you have in your 2012 projects. Some of the 2012 features will not open in 2010 and will therefore need upgrading. To quote Microsoft: "If you use both Visual Studio 2012 and Visual Studio 2010 SP1, you can create and modify projects and files in either version as long as you don't add features that require Visual Studio 2012." More details on the features that are not supported in 2010 can be found here.

Visual studio issues after installing visual studio 2013
In order to build windows 8 apps in visual studio 2013, you must be using windows 8.1. (defined here). This is possibly the issue. You also wouldn't see the windows sdk include path because the wdk would be uninstalled. I would recommend one of two things get visual studio 2012 again, and download the windows 8 sdk get windows 8.1, then install visual studio 2013, and use the windows 8.1 sdk I know, its quite silly.

Visual Studio + Boost error
Since you haven't shown any code, we can only guess. My guess is that you #define some macro that messes-up Boost.Math code. Maybe something like #define M ...... UPDATE: It turns out that my guess was correct. Take a look at MedLDAc/MEDsLDAc/cokus.h file: #define M (397) // a period parameter The immediate workaround is to move #include <boost/math/special_functions/gamma.hpp> line in MedLDA.cpp to be the first include, after StdAfx.h, so that the above macro wouldn't affect the templates declared in gamma.hpp. P.S. Defining one-letter macros is a really, really bad idea.

Visual Studio deployment error
Make sure a Windows project is not set as startup(assuming you have both windoes project and phone project in the same solution). For example If your target platfrom is a Windows phone project WP7, then you cannot have a windows project as startup. This is a known reason for the error you mentioned. Also what is the operating system you are working with? I know the error you mentioned reprorted on some OS's including Windows server 2003 and 2008. Try running your project in winsdows 7.

Visual Studio Error display
The error message that is displayed in the first picture is a message displayed for .Net exceptions. (Anything that inherits from System.Exception) The .Net exception class has members that include data and stack trace that can be displayed nicely and the Visual Studio IDE displayes it for you. Native errors (from native code or windows code, anything not .Net) is displayed with the second window. Native exceptions to contain a minimal what() string. Sometimes. But any other class type can be thrown too, so there's not always that much information.

Error Writing to File in Visual Studio
The variable body in this section is incorrect. body=""; ... BufferNo=sprintf(body,"%.5f %[3].5f %[3].5f %[3].5f %[3].5f %[3].5f %[3].5f %[3].5f ", a1,a2,a3,a4,a5,a6,a7,a8); Presumably it's a char * (alhtough I'm just guessing), which means you are trying to write a bunch of number values to a constant string capable of holding exactly zero characters. Since it's a constant, it's non-writeable. Change it to char body[1000]; or something similar.

Z3 build error using Visual Studio compilers
This error typically happens if you try to build x64 binary from a x86 command line environment. Do one of the following: To build Z3 under 64 bits: a) open a 64 bit Visual studio command line window. The VS distribution comes with some pre-configured shortcuts to command-line windows for either 32 or 64 bits. b) configure a build environment for Z3 using a command of the form scriptsmk_make.py --x64 -b release_x64. This creates a directory release_x64 where you can build a 64 bit version of Z3. c) cd release_x64 d) nmake TO build Z3 under 32 bits: a) open a 32 bit VS command line window. b) configure a build environment using a command scriptsmk_make.py -b release_x86. c) cd release_x86 d) nmake

Visual Studio 2012 Linking error
Recreate your project from scratch, check if it works or not. After that compare your vcxproj files. They are text files. Any text compare tool will work. Their difference may tell a lot. Also try to view your source file in a hex editor. Look for any non ASCII symbols in your troubled method and around. Such symbols might be not displayed in the IDE viewer but still may confuse the compiler.

Visual Studio - Fatal error C1057
In the expression you have given - #define GPMC_PADS PAD_ENTRY(GPMC_A6 ,INPUT_DISABLED | MUXMODE(SAFE_MODE)) PAD_ENTRY(GPMC_nCS2 ,INPUT_DISABLED | MUXMODE(0)) The lines PAD_ENTRY(GPMC_A6 ,INPUT_DISABLED | MUXMODE(SAFE_MODE)) and PAD_ENTRY(GPMC_nCS2 ,INPUT_DISABLED | MUXMODE(0)) are in same line. Please check what is the implementation of PAD_ENTRY macro. I strongly feel the problem is because of using the PAD_ENTRY macro twice in same line. I feel it should be something like - #define GPMC_PADS PAD_ENTRY(GPMC_A6 ,INPUT_DISABLED | MUXMODE(SAFE_MODE)) + PAD_ENTRY(GPMC_nCS2 ,INPUT_DISABLED | MUXMODE(0)) Means there should be some operation performed between the two PAD_ENTRY macro.

Visual studio style error "sa1505"
StyleCop requires Resharper to work. Hover over the light bulb for R#, drop down the list of actions that can be done and you should see one for Suppress SA1121. Make that selection and then you will see a dialog for indicating if this rule is error, warning, hint etc. Just turn it off there and you should never see that rule again.

Visual Studio 2012 for web, fix targeting framework error
Try the web.config as this is the area where the error will most likely reside. You can 'force' the web.config to be a specific version and I would add both c# and vb/net so they are always there. I have a web.config template I start all my projects with. Below is a cut of the part I believe you need. Just change the value of the .net <system.codedom> <compilers> <compiler language="c#;cs;csharp" extension=".cs" warningLevel="4" type="Microsoft.CSharp.CSharpCodeProvider, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"> <providerOption name="CompilerVersion" value="v3.5"/> <providerOption name="WarnAsError" value="false"/> </compiler> <compiler langu

sendmessage callback error in visual studio 2012
The error is that you told the compiler to treat warnings as errors, and you have two warnings about arguments that is not used in the function. The simplest solution is to actually skip naming those arguments, like so: LRESULT CALLBACK WndProc (HWND, UINT message, WPARAM, LPARAM lParam) For a solution working in C, then you have to actually use the arguments, even if you don't do anything with them. This can be done with e.g. using them in an expression and throw away the result, like (void) hwnd; (void) wParam; Or use the macros defined in winnt.h (which should be included for you by default) for this: UNREFERENCED_PARAMETER(hwnd); UNREFERENCED_PARAMETER(wParam); See e.g. this article.

Deploying Qt C++ Application from Visual Studio qwindows.dll error
If you are using libGLESv2.dll, then you must include libEGL.dll, too. You can't see that in depends.exe, don't know how the Qt developers managed to hide this. If your Qt is out of the box, then both Dlls are necessary even if you are not using OpenGL. Also, if your Qt is out of the box, you need to include also the three ic*.dll, which contain information for Unicode handling.
