After installing 32-bit ODBC components onto a 64-bit machine you need to run the 32-bit ODBC Administrator, normally found at C:WindowsSysWOW64odbcad32.exe If you just go the normal Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) route then you will be looking at the 64-bit environment, and your 32-bit options will not be visible.

Vertica odbc missing /opt/vertica/lib64/libverticaodbc_unixodbc.so
I have a solution for this. It isn't the best there is but it made this work, and its better then no solution at all. I copied the file: vertica_4.1.9_odbc_3.5_unixodbc_x86_64_linux.so To /opt/vertica/lib64/ After that i created a link to that file with the exact name that he was looking for ln vertica_4.1.9_odbc_3.5_unixodbc_x86_64_linux.so libverticaodbc_unixodbc.so And this solved it. Hope someone will find a better solution to this and let us know too.

Choosing the correct ODBC driver for SQL Server
According to a blog post located here, SQL Native Client was introduced in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to provide new functionality above and beyond that supplied by the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). It goes on to list some of the new features: SQL Native Client can be used to create new applications or enhance existing applications that need to take advantage of new SQL Server 2005 features such as Multiple Active Result Sets (MARS), user-defined data types (UDT), query notifications, snapshot isolation, and XML data type support. I think it unlikely that a SQL Server linked table in Access would leverage any of those newer SQL Server features for two reasons: ODBC links to SQL Server from Access are probably kept fairly generic to support links to older versions of

when using a specific database such as sql server,do we have to install and configure odbc?
These are multiple questions here. (1) No, SQL Server is accessed best via the SQL Native Client, ADO/MDAC/OLE-DB. Performance-wise ODBC is not recommended at all, although it still may be the most viable option in certain cases. (2) Thrift is only an RPC-mechanism, which has nothing to do with DB in General. This is a completely different aspect. However, Thrift can of course be used, and in fact it is actually used by the NoSQL database Apache Cassandra I'd recommend to first find out what kind of DB is most suitable for your use case: It may be a typical SQL database, or it may be a classical ISAM or even something like Cassandra, CouchDB or MongoDB. Once you know that, you'll surely find out how to conect with the DB of your choice - or just ask another question :-).

Oracle ODBC connection to SQL Server: Table Name Length Issues
Assuming that we are talking about an Oracle database that has a database link created to a SQL Server database via Heterogeneous Services, you would need to write code using the DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH package to interact with the tables in question. You'd also need to use this package if you have tables where there are column names that are not valid Oracle identifiers.

How to Configure Microsoft® ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server® on RedHat Linux with PHP
Below are steps to install, configure and start using the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver for Linux, and using it from PHP - it assumes that you have SQL Server already available and configured to accept connections over TCP/IP, also that you have some familiarity with Linux. First, the SQL Server (and the appropriate database) must be configured for Windows and SQL Server Authentication. This requires a restart of the SQL Server service if changed. In addition, the server must also have TCP/IP connections enabled with a static port defined (I will be using the default of 1433), and the firewall on the host for the SQL Server must allow connections to SQL Server on the static port. Load necessary modules: Run the following command line to remove previous installations. yum remove php

Catching Microsoft Access ODBC connection errors to SQL Server linked tables
Extract the connection information from one of the linked tables, and try to open an ADO connection with it. You can adjust the ConnectionTimeout property as needed. The ODBC connection information for a link is available from the TableDef.Connect property. CurrentDb.TableDef("link name").Connect Ideally you can discard "ODBC;" from the start of that string and use the rest for your ADO connection string. But if yours doesn't work that simply, you can Split() the string on ";" and use the pieces you need. I included a code outline for opening an ADO connection; you would need to refine it. Then you could call it from a splash form. If the connection is successful, open your main form. When the connection fails, open the form where you request the information needed to re-link.

How to set a DB connection timeout for a python/pyodbc/unixODBC/MS ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server/Linux stack?
http://stackoverflow.com/a/12946908/1552953 This answer refers to being able to set a timeout on the connection: Timeout An optional integer query timeout, in seconds. Use zero, the default, to disable. The timeout is applied to all cursors created by the connection, so it cannot be changed for a given connection. If a query timeout occurs, the database should raise an OperationalError with SQLSTATE HYT00 or HYT01. Note: This attribute only affects queries. To set the timeout for the actual connection process, use the timeout keyword of the pyodbc.connect function. result = None with pyodbc.connect('DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=mydb;DATABASE=solarwinds;Trusted_Connection=True', timeout=1) as cnxn: cursor = cnxn.cursor() result = cursor.execute(que

Microsoft® ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server® on RedHat Linux with PHP - gives an error when bind parameter with PDO for stored procedures
Finally I found the solution for this, Microsoft driver has develop for C or C++ application and the PDO parameter binding does not work as expected. If you pass parameters without using PDO everything works as expected. Replace with @paravalue = N'".$v1."' Fore example - normal parameter binding - SQLBindParameter PDO parameter binding - $stmt->bindParam(1, $v1 = 5, PDO::PARAM_STR, 100); Corrected cod snippet: $stmt = $con->prepare( "SET NOCOUNT ON DECLARE @return_value int EXEC @return_value = [sp_insert_into_t_contact_test] @paravalue = N'".$v1."' SELECT 'returnV' = @return_value"); $stmt->execute(); $return =$stmt->fetch(); echo $return['returnV'];

Thrift 0.9 PHP server missing Processor
The process of writing this question prompted me to spot the answer! I was generating php:namespace, but that was a hold-over from using Thrift 0.8.0. In fact, 'namespace' doesn't exist in 0.8 (presumably because namespaces are always added to generated PHP in 0.9). The output of thrift --help does list php:server, which "generates PHP server stubs". This means, apparently, generating the PHP *Processor class.

Visual SVN Server Transaction log - Serialized hash missing terminator
Looks like the repository is corrupted. Do you have a backup? Restoring from a backup is the preferred way to solve this. I assume that you run VisualSVN Server 2.5.9 (Subversion 1.7.9) or older and there was a power or a disk failure on the machine. Subversion 1.7.9 has a bug that can result into a corrupted repository if a power / disk failure occurs. The bug was fixed in Subversion 1.7.10 / VisualSVN Server 2.5.10. See http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/subversion/tags/1.7.10/CHANGES. fix repository corruption on power/disk failure on Windows (r1483781)

Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress on Windows Server 2008 R2
I had an issue like this on a windows install and it was down to this. If you don't have the extension_dir uncommented on you php.ini, it wont default to the 'ext' directory (which is where all extension dlls are on windows). Therefore, even uncommented extensions are ignored (and you wont see them on your phpinfo()) http://php.net/manual/en/install.windows.extensions.php

missing bytes while transfering files from client to server, the bytes values also represent some of the control characters
The issue is most likely that you sent binary data. And binary data can contain zeros. And zeroes are the normal string terminator. This means that when you do temp.str(Rbuffer) (assuming temp is a std::stringstream) then it only gets data from Rbuffer until the first zero. Instead of using e.g. std::stringstream use std::string: while(strBuffer.length() < fileSize) { char buffer[2048]; ssize_t n = read(sockets.newsockfd, buffer, sizeof(buffer)); if (n <= 0) { // An error, or connection closed if (n < 0) error("ERROR reading from socket"); break; } // Create a string of `n` bytes, including possible string terminators // and add it to out current buffer strBuffer += std::string(buffer, n); } The important t

TR1 is "missing" - which header or library am I missing from my project configuration?
The <tr1/*> headers should have been deprecated or removed following their inclusion in the standard. So they're mostly there for older compilers such as VS2010 or VS2008. Including <functional> alone should fix it. A couple things to note though, although I do not know if it applies to VS2013 is that std::regex's include is <regex> yet still resides in the old std::tr1 namespace.

ODBC or SQL DataSource?
Well from what I quickly searched you would use SQL DataSource to connect to an ODBC Database. No matter, you should always be able to give your users the control to select a database table name and then return them all the data you want from that table. This can be done with either a nice switch statement as to not trust what the user submits in the form or well actually yeah you should use a switch statement because NEVER TRUST USER INPUT. You could get a little fancy and create a dynamic switch statement generated from a query to the DB of what tables appear in the DB and then add whatever code you need to get the return. Hope that is a point in the correct direction for you. EDIT switch out table names for Database names, same concept though.

ODBC with jBASE
It doesn't look like anything out there in terms of samples, so you'd have to figure out one on your own after downloading the drivers. If you have the luxury of picking your technologies, I recommend not using this particular combo. Even if you do figure out how to get things working -- you're going to run into snags and there isn't going to be much out there in the ways of helping you. I'd recommend picking a server language that has good documentation/examples with that DB, or pick another DB and migrate over.

ODBC connection with Universe 9.6
Officially Universe 9.6 isn't supported for use with the U2 Toolkit for .NET. Per the documentation (page 6): Supported versions of UniData and UniVerse UniData 7.1 or later UniVerse 10.3 or later You can still use straight ODBC or UniObjects to extract data from your database. If you're planning to use ODBC, in addition to enabling RPC, make sure you have configured your Universe account for ODBC per Rocket's ODBC documentation. Before writing C# code, I have often verified my ODBC setup using Excel's external data access tools.
