access to ntfs stream for a very long filename fails
As the very helpful page on CreateFile says referring to the lpFileName parameter which specifies the filename: In the ANSI version of this function, the name is limited to MAX_PATH characters. To extend this limit to 32,767 wide characters, call the Unicode version of the function and prepend "?" to the path. Since you are contemplating BackupRead obviously you are wanting to access this stream programatically. If so, test things programatically. Trying all these operations from the command prompt is a crap-shoot and will not establish anything more than the ability to perform such operations from the command prompt. With that in mind, let's try this simple program - boilerplate code removed: #include "stdafx.h" int APIENTRY _tWinMain(HINSTANCE, HINSTAN

My users can connect to the report server and my .NET app can connect to the report service / asmx Don't know what triggered it and why it's necessary to grant access on the file system but it's a quick relief compared to my alternatives.. PDO access denied to external host, but I can access to phpmyadmin cp
Nothing seems wrong with your code except the setAttribute method is setting the error output to raise warnings.. but you're in a try/catch block.. so you may want to consider using PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION. Secondly, check your remote permissions for that username/password. There may be an IP limitation for that user account. You can use the wildcard % for the HOST on user accounts or (suggested) provide the server IP that is connecting TO the database.

I can't access unc path from C#. Getting access is denied
Had this very same problem a while ago. For your debug process to run with full Admin access, you'd have to open Visual Studio with full admin access. In production, have your process "Run As Administrator". If you do not do any of the above, you will have to implement impersonation.

MVC "Access is Denied" using IIS
When creating your MVC application, one option is to create an "Intranet" application. This will turn on "Windows" authentication by default inside Web.config. When publishing such a project to IIS, you need to enable Windows authentication for your application in the IIS Management Console. You may also have to disable Anonymous authentication.

Access is denied when using FileOutputStream
You have to have folders created first. But you can't call file.mkdirs() - you need to call file.getParentFile().mkdirs() - otherwise, you will create a folder with the name of the file (which will then prevent you from creating a file with the same name). I'll also mention that you should check the result code of mkdirs(), just in case it fails. And though you didn't ask for it, I'll still mention that you don't need to call createNewFile() (your FileWriter will create it). and, just for thoroughness, be sure to put your file.close() in a finally block, and throw your exception (don't just print it) - here you go: void writeToFile(String input) throws IOException{ File file = new File("C:\WeatherExports\export.txt"); if (!file.getParentFile().mkdirs())

msxml3.dll Access Denied
Try with a more recent version: Set http = CreateObject("Msxml2.XMLHttp.6.0") It could also be an issue with your Internet security settings (see here). Open the Internet Options applet in the Control Panel, select the zone for the website (probably "Trusted sites") in the Security tab and click Custom level…. In the section Miscellaneous set Access data sources across domains to Enabled.

Access granted and denied
You could use the Console.ReadLine method which will return the value entered by the user and you could store it in the corresponding variable: namespace Password { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("Please enter password:"); string password = Console.ReadLine(); bool passWordMatch; passWordMatch = password == "Test"; if (passWordMatch) { Console.WriteLine(" Password Match. Access Granted"); } else { Console.WriteLine("Password doesn't match! Access denied."); } } } }

The only possible reason I can think of is you are not really the WoopyCat user, here is the correct way to get the path based of the currently running user. var roamingFolder = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData); //This equals the AppDataRoaming folder for the current user Directory.Move(Path.Combine(roamingFolder, ".minecraft"), Path.Combine(roamingFolder,currentUser));

S3 TVM Issue – getting access denied
You don't need to use prefix to refer to the resource for the context of Object operations. I'd also recommend restricting the S3 actions. Here is a recommend policy, based on the one from an article on an S3 Personal File Store. Feel free to remove the ListBucket if it doesn't make sense for you app. {"Statement": [ {"Effect":"Allow", "Action":["s3:PutObject","s3:GetObject","s3:DeleteObject"], "Resource":"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket-test/66-*", }, {"Effect":"Allow", "Action":"s3:ListBucket", "Resource":"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket-test", "Condition":{ "StringLike":{ "s3:prefix":"66-*" } } }, {"Effect":"Deny","Action":"sdb:*","Resource":["arn:aws:sdb:u

Process.Kill() Access Denied
You will generally get this error if you do not have the necessary permissions. You must be an administrator, and in win vista and above, run your app/process in elevated mode. Furthermore, there are certain processes that even as admin you won't be able to kill, some deemed system critical, etc, and you may need to run as system, and then there are those that even system can't kill, like antivirus, or an actual virus, because they don't want you killing their process Another possibility is that if the process is already terminating, it will also throw that exception, see MSDN

How to fix "Access to the path is denied" error?
The user, whose account is used to run your application, must have access to that path There are 2 ways to achieve this: Configure a special application pool for your application, that will run under a user that has necessary permissions (can access admin shares on remote server). So your entire application will run under that account and have all its permissions. Using impersonation to execute parts of your code under another account. This doesn't require any IIS configuration and is more secure and flexible than first way (for example? you can impersonate several accounts in a single application). I use a helper class for this purpose: http://pastebin.com/HQWT7yFX (can't find original author, so this is my slightly modified version)

1)Your code is correct 2)Probably this is because the file you are trying to replace is set to "read-only" , change it and try to replace it 3)Don't know 4)You can try any custom upload method or using ajax,it will be faster but not simple as asp.net file upload 5)I think this is a good one

SCRIPT5: Access is denied. On IE while using parse.js
There's a really annoying bug (feature?) in IE that if you try to use parse.com (or any other similar technology) over HTTPS, but your site is on HTTP, you will get errors. Every other browser works. The only solution is to host your site using HTTPS if you want IE users to be able to use it.

Getting Access Denied when trying to impersonate user
Unless you have a specific need to use the ANSI version of LogonUser, you should use LogonUser instead of LogonUserA in your declaration, i.e. Declare Function LogonUser Lib "advapi32.dll" You should also verify that the user being impersonated has interactive logon rights on the local machine.

java.io.FileNotFoundException: (Access is denied)
Its because it seems like you are trying to open and read a directory here. Your file as you say it, doesn't have any extension specified so java takes it as a directory. use isFile() method to check for a file before opening. You can use listFiles() method to obtain files of the directory.

How to troubleshoot "Get-WmiObject : Access is denied."?
Have you considered using Invoke-Command and executing your script2 remotely using PowerShell Remoting? Your remote script can the be executed using alternative credentials, you may have better luck convincing your security team to enable PowerShell Remoting rather than WMI. Your wmi queries when run via invoke-command will be local to the machine so will have a better chance of working, it also avoids the need to read the standard-out buffer. To get you started, try Enter-PSSession as this will enable you to quickly determine how much work is necessary to get PS Remoting working in your environment. In the future you might want to target many computers simultaneously, in which case PS Remoting and Start-Job would be helpful.

Access to the path 'C:SitescontentServerIpAddress.txt' is denied
The account that is being used for the worker process of the web site has no (write)access to the file. Configure the file (or folder) so that the ASP.NET process has access. Another thing to look at is whether or not the path as stated in the code is the actual path on the server.

Access is denied (Running a .bat file)
Not an answer to your question, but I think you are not approaching it from the best direction. Instead see this question that provides a very robust answer for what you are actually trying to do: what-is-the-best-way-to-auto-update-a-windows-application TL;DR If your original installation is "All users" then you will have problems with having to manually elevate permissions. Is the installation is "Per user" then this simplifies the permissions issue.

Access denied when trying to execute a .exe in %AppData%
I am not JAVA user but isn't it 32 vs. 64 bit issue ? on 64 bit Windows error code 5 usually means that executable is not 64 bit compatible sometimes this is the case even when executable need to access only some (older win) system directory which does not exist anymore To prove this try to use your executable in command line. if you can manage to get it work there than it is different issue. If not find executable for your OS. Another possibility is that the file has to be physically present on some drive. you wrote that you has it as temporary. not shore what it means for JAVA if it only copy it to some file and delete after use than its OK but if it is only in memory somewhere than that could be problem if executable need access to itself To prove this just copy the file to some

MultipartFormDataContent Access to path xx is denied
If FileLocation is the path to the folder where the file is located your code should look something like this: using (var pdf = new FileStream(Path.Combine(FileLocation, FileName + ".pdf"), FileMode.Open)) { pdfData = new byte[pdf.Length]; pdf.Read(pdfData, 0, (int)pdf.Length); } I'd probably use File.ReadAllBytes instead: var pdfData = File.ReadAllBytes(Path.Combine(FileLocation, FileName + ".pdf"));

Access to the path 'C:UsersxxxDesktop' is denied
You may have to run your program/IDE as Administrator to access that folder. I'm not exactly sure why, but I've had the same problem. Something to do with default Windows permissions. Let us know if it works! Edit: The path leads to a folder - not a file. I believe FileStreams in C-based languages must actually point to a file, rather than a directory: ie. C:UsersUsernameDesktopfile.extension . Can you try this and let us know if it helps at all?

CarrierWave Fog Credentials, Access Denied
I realized this has to do with the new AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). I had created a new IAM user, but I hadn't given that user the correct privileges. In the past, there was only one user, and that user had admin privileges. Now you have to create a user, give that user the correct privileges, and use that user's credentials. I hope this helps someone.

XDR post returning "access denied" in IE 8 & 9
I'm not exactly sure if this is how XDR works, but it works like this on my server for some reason, but it looked like 'open' triggered the ajax response from my .Net back-end, and blocked the send from getting through (It doesn't sound right, but that's is how it looked in Fiddler). So no form data was being posted, which caused all the weirdness to happen. To fix this, I changed the post to a get, and added a clause to my .Net Ajax Controller that said if Request.Form.AllKeys.Length = 0, get the query string instead.

E.g. in debian based OS the config file is "/etc/exports" and you would put there "/volume2/Asterisk_Recordings 192.168.1.1(rw,sync)" and activate this with "exportfs -a" (your NAS may do this automatically if you update the config via a web interface, I guess.)
