Php Image does not show, firs tphp image error second php doesn't call out
The problem is your PHP code is doing: $_GET["ident"]; but your HTML is doing: ?id=$id. You either need to change $_GET['indent'] to $_GET['id'] or change ?id= to ?ident= Another way to debug problems is to open the image directly in the browser and it will show you the PHP errors that occurred instead of creating an image. You also may need to comment out the content-type header to see the errors.

Gallery doesn't show anything when it has only 1 image
The variable length seems to be the problem here. If it's value is zero, when getView() for the first item is called, the width parameter is set to zero. In your edit, length is indeed getting a non-zero value, perhaps a bit late. You can make the following call to update the view: myAdapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); This call should be placed inside run() after the computation of length. Your workaround for the 'blinking' is fine. As an alternative(and if the gallery's width should match screen width), try this: In place of: g.post(new Runnable() { public void run() { length = g.getRight() - g.getLeft(); } }); put: Point pointSize = new Point(); getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getSize(pointSize); length = pointSize.x; Place this before initializing the adapter. CSS background-image doesn't show with meteor
Don't forget the height value: height: 30px; When you use a background image in CSS the image doesn't consume space. You have to explitly tell the div how big it should be. Especially when there is nothing in it. However big you want it use that as the height, I've just put up 30px. Update: I've double checked this is working: here is a screenshot:

Rails 4 - Image doesn't show up on model's new page
In Rails, if you need reference an asset on pages, you should use asset helpers. In this case, you can change the line: %img#menu-image{src: "assets/books.png"} to %img#menu-image{src: "#{image_path('books.png')}"}

gwt ClientBundle context.drawImage doesn't show image? my 2D engine
See https://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=8180 This is because, currently, new Image(imageResource) uses a blank GIF and puts the ImageResource as a background image. This is fixed in master and will ship in GWT 2.6 later this year. The workaround is to use new Image(imageResource.getSafeUri()). It's not safe to do it in IE6/7 where a sprited image is used, but canvas is not supported there so it's not really an issue in this case (note that you could configure any permutation to use a sprited image rather than a data: URL, so technically it's not safe to use getSafeUri() in any browser; GWT 2.6 will add an isStandalone() method to tell you when it's safe to use it, and this is how new Image(imageResource) will be fixed)

WakeLock doesn't always release
I think I found out what was going on. According to the WakeLock documentation, wakelocks by default require a balanced number of calls to acquire() and release(). If this doesn't happen, release() won't actually release the lock. My code has nested tasks that use the same wakelock for microsleeping purposes. If one of them, say, acquires the wakelock once more than it releases it before returning control a higher level in the chain (e.g., if an improperly handled interrupt occurs), then the lock will never be released! I found this out by looking into setReferenceCounted() and WakeLock.toString(), the latter of which will tell you how many times acquire() has been called without a balancing release(). Hopefully this helps anyone else who encounters a similar problem!

Release doesn't dealloc object
You should never rely on a particular value of the retain count (see http://whentouseretaincount.com). In this particular case (as can be seen in http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/CF/CF-476.19/CFNumber.c), NSNumber caches the created objects for integer values between (-1) and 12, so that calling [[NSNumber alloc] initWithInteger:5]; repeatedly will always return the same instance. The cache holds one additional reference to the object which is the reason for retainCount == 2, and also explains why the object is not actually destroyed if you release it. But this are only implementation details!!. As said above, you should not use the retain count. And even if an object is deallocated that not necessary mean that the memory of the object is invalidated, so accessing the object mi

Web.Config Debug/Release : Doesn't work
Configuration transformation is only done when publishing. Your base configuration file should have your development settings. If you choose to use the default build configurations, normally the release transform file should contain your production environment settings and the debug transform file will contain your test environment settings. Personally, I usually create a new build configuration for testing and for production and leave the debug and release transforms empty. Edit: If you use the latest version of the SlowCheetah extension for Visual Studio, it will transform your configuration files during the build.

DbContext doesn't release SQLite database
Two things jump to mind: Make sure Visual Studio isn't locking the database file. Open Server Explorer and if there is a connection to the file make sure its closed or removed altogether. It's likely that connection pooling is what is holding the connection open. Disable pooling in your connection string like this: Data Source=e:mydb.db;Version=3;Pooling=False; As Matt pointed out you should really use a using statement rather than calling dispose manually. That way if there is an exception the resources are always released properly.

Java - Why forced garbage collection doesn't release memory
It seems that this is premature optimization (or rather an illusion of it). System.gc(); is not guaranteed to force a garbage collection. What you are doing here is busy waiting for some non-guaranteed gc to happen. But if the heap does not get filled up the JVM might not start a garbage collection at all. I think that you should start thinking about this problem when you stress test your application and you can identify this part as a bottleneck. So in a nutshell you can't really force a gc and this is intentional. The JVM will know when and how to free up space. I think that if you clear your references and call System.gc(); you can move on without caring about whether it gets cleaned up or not. You may read the Official documentation about how to fine-tune the garbage collector. You s

Doesn't the JVM release all the resources that are not explicitly closed by the programmer on program exit
These resources are indeed closed upon a normal JVM exit. However, you may not always know how your method is being called, and it could perhaps be called 2000 times externally by another programmer, and those resources will start to stack up. In addition, certain non-mainstream OSs may run into the issue that if the JVM were to halt abnormally(via System.halt or a crash) then resources could remain open(due to cleanup code not being run), potentially unusable until rebooted or manually released. Even on mainstream systems sockets could remain open for multiple minutes.

Configuring a single Jenkins release job to release from trunk or branches with Perforce as SCM
If I were trying to implement this as described I would created a parameterized build where I could hand in a Perforce label name. The Perforce Jenkins plugin can sync to a label; I would create labels for each release specifying the paths that should be synced and with a revision specifier of #head. Jenkins should then sync just the files you want for that build. The workspace would of course map everything; the labels will specify the files to fetch.

Android, show activity, download image and show on imageview (in that order)
You need to implement an AsyncTask. Which executes on a background thread and prevents blocking of the main thread. You simply create a class that extends AsyncTask like below EDIT - Yes, this will display your Activity even before the images get downloaded. You simply call the execute() method of your AsyncTask in onCreate() Have a look at the page on AsyncTasks above for a complete overview. It's really simple to implement you just need to be aware of configuration changes if your AsyncTask has not completed. You might also want to look into caching your bitmaps in memory to prevent them from being unnecessarily downloaded again. public class DownloadItemDetails extends AsyncTask<String, Void, ArrayList<Bitmap>{ protected ArrayList<Bitmap> doInBackground(String...par

How to release an iOS app as worldwide which was release with Italian as the language in the first version?
The third Question answers my query. https://vpp.itunes.apple.com/faq 3. Can I distribute redemption codes to employees who are not located in my country? No. Apps can only be distributed to employees with Apple IDs located in the same country where the apps were purchased. To distribute redemption codes in other countries, you must enroll your business in the Volume Purchase Program for every eligible country in which you wish to purchase and distribute apps.

Difference between debugging the release and running the release
If you have Application Property Settings, the 'debug' settings and 'release' settings are distinct. For instance, if I set up a 'server name' and 'default database name' in settings fields, when I compile to 'release' it won't pull in the names that I set while I was in debug. Therefore, you will need to populate the release settings separately. You haven't included that detail in your post, but it could easily affect the program session.

Github release from maven-release-plugin
The problem seemed to be the "circular" reference where the aggregator inherits from one of the poms that it is aggregating. As soon as I removed that, everything worked. So there are basically two simple choices, either merge the parent and the aggregator, or have the SCM info duplicated (or just moved) in the aggregator so that the aggregator doesn't inherit from anyone

My image wont display on my landing page rather, it will show the name of the image
You say it prints out the name of the image and the image is stored in your image directory. I'm guessing that means $_SESSION[ 'photo' ] contains the path to the image file. In that case you need to wrap it in HTML properly. <img src="<?php echo $_SESSION[ 'photo' ] ?>" /> Or perhaps your uploaded images are in an images folder and you only store the actual file name in $_SESSION[ 'photo' ], then do this instead. <img src="/your-images-folder/<?php echo $_SESSION[ 'photo' ] ?>" /> If the images are stored outside of your web root, then you'll need to either copy them in to your web root, or you'll need to set up a PHP script to receive unhandled image requests and pull in the files from your uploaded images folder that way. You can do this by putting a URL rew

Why doesn't this Javascript image object get added to the image array?
I would venture to say that you are attempting to access it before it is added to your array. I would suggest adding a callback or something to your loadResources method to make sure that it's there before you attempt to access it. this.loadResources = function (callback) { for (var i = 0; i < this.image_names.length; i++) { var img = new Image(); img.onload = (function (a, i) { return function() { a.images[a.image_names[i]] = img; console.log(a.images); //log is successful, image is in array callback(); }; })(this, i); img.src = "images/" + this.image_names[i] + ".png"; } } then var a = new ImageData(); var rock1_image; a.loadResources(function() { rock1_image = a.im

What the difference between Release|AnyCPU and Release|ARM
If you're only using managed code, there's no reason not to use Release|AnyCPU. This way the same package will be used for all three platforms (ARM, x86 and x64). On the other hand, if your project references natively compiled library, you'll need to set a specific platform, like Release|ARM, that your native library is compiled for. If the native library is installed as an extension (e.g. SQLite for Windows Runtime), you'll be able to compile your app for all 3 target platforms, each one referencing the appropriate native library, though they will need to be individual packages instead of a single universal one. You'll still be able to submit your app to the store as a single app even if it has 3 separate packages, one for each platform.
