Proxy built-in errors?
Is it possible to influence errors thrown from the JS interpreter? No. However, if you want to throw your own errors you can do that for all exceptions that happened in your own code: try { /* some code, possibly foreign */ var obj = null; obj.someMethod() } catch (e) { throw new CustomTypeError(e.msg); } but it would be much better to just check your types: var obj = null; if (obj == null) throw new NullPointerException(); else obj.someMethod();

How to log SQL errors AND warnings with a Lua script on mysql-proxy
You can download this script and specify while configuring MySQL-proxy. Command line options are listed here: MySQL-proxy-configuration Typical MySQL-proxy configuration will look like this in your case: $ mysql-proxy --proxy-backend-addresses=192.168.x.x:3305 --proxy-address=192.168.y.y:4045 --proxy-lua-script=mysql-proxy-log-error-queries.lua I guess you might have to modify this script to connect to MySQL-proxy.

how to debug c++ runtime errors
I know this isn't a real 'answer', but I'm still new, so I can't comment on the questions yet. Anyway, same thing as Mats said, try GDB. Here is the download page http://www.gnu.org/software/gdb/ There are plenty of tutorials for using the debugger. This one is fairly good. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~gilpin/tutorial/ If you never used a debugger, it basically runs your code line by line. You can control how far you want to proceed and where you want the code to stop to check for errors. Debuggers also keep track of other important information like variable values, variable addresses, loop counts, and so on. If you don't want to use the debugger, you can always use print statements where you might suspect the program is crashing. For instance, if you have a function foo(), you can pu

Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authorization Required"
You may not need the domain in front of the username. I had a very similar issue, and I fixed it when I removed the domain in front of the username. Since the proxy server is on a domain, I think it implies that your under the same domain.

ASP.NET Rest Service returning 500 errors on return when hosted in IIS 7.5, but works in VS Debug Server
Its always after asking for help I seem to find an answer.... Turns out having <httpProtocol> <customHeaders> <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Origin" value="*" /> <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Headers" value="Content-Type" /> </customHeaders> </httpProtocol> in in the main web.config, and within the web.config in the service's folder will cause this behavior. Amazing it works in IIS Express, however. The service executes just fine, but there is a 500 error AFTER the return.

getProcAddressW errors when use visual studio2005 and windows mobile SDK to debug windows CE project
The first compiler error is somewhat self explanatory. get "W" at the end of GetProcAddressW means that the method is the wide character API (as opposed to GetProcAddressA, which is the ASCII version). Windows CE only exports the wide character versions of APIs. That means that you have to pass in a wide-character string. You used a TCHAR macro when you used _T, which makes the enclosed string a wide character literal, and the error goes away. The same code should work fine on big Windows (for any recent version anyway), provided that you #define UNICODE (which is probably already on) and #include "tchar.h" which I think you since _T compiles. You could explicitly call GetProcAddressW instead of just GetProcAddress (which should be #defined to the wide version if UNICODE is defined).

mysql-proxy proxy.queries:append call failing with .server_capabilities error
The examples/tutorial-scramble.lua file has a lot of problems - I think it is out of date with the current mysql-proxy. How will the readResolve() method of the proxy class get called in the Serialization Proxy pattern?
Check the documentation of Serializable. writeReplace() and readResolve() are special methods called by serialization engine. writeReplace() replaces object being serialized with the proxy, and readResolve() replaces deserialized proxy with the actual object. Serialization proxy class doesn't have to be a static nested class of the class you want to serialize. It's just a convention for better organization of code.

Should python debug statements etc be wrapped by if debug?
There is no need for additional checks. Just configure your logging level: >>> import logging >>> root = logging.getLogger() >>> root.setLevel(logging.INFO) >>> root.addHandler(logging.StreamHandler()) >>> logging.error("test") test >>> logging.debug("test") >>> Again, there is no need for additional checks (the source code taken from logging/__init__.py): class Logger(Filterer): ... def debug(self, msg, *args, **kwargs): """ Log 'msg % args' with severity 'DEBUG'. To pass exception information, use the keyword argument exc_info with a true value, e.g. logger.debug("Houston, we have a %s", "thorny problem", exc_info=1) """ if self.isEnabledFor(DEBUG):

Is ext-all-debug.js equivalent to ext-all.js plus debug statements?
The ext-all.js is the minified version of the ext-all-debug.js. The ext-all.js version gain is that it greatly reduces the files size so that clients have to download less on the non-debug version. The ext-all-debug.js is provided so that you can debug through the extjs code. So they don't have any diference, such as added console.log's

what is this perl expression "$DEBUG>=3 && DEBUG("OK=$ok");"?
$DEBUG must be at 3 or more and the return Value from the sub DEBUG must be true as well. True means, that its not undef 0 "" "0" Any blessed objects that overload conversion to boolean to return false Empty arrays and empty hashes Boolean parts with subs will be executed as well. So that if your expression is inside an if clause, the return value will be the part of that expression. Eg. sub test { return 1; } if ( $abc >2 && test() ) { ... }

qMake: How exactly does qmake interpret the "CONFIG(debug, debug|release)" syntax
In the article you linked to, it's said in the very beginning that the project file is processed three times. This should answer your first question; since it's processed three times, your message() is executed three times too. Why is it processed multiple times? Because qmake does not build your project! It only generates build instructions which are then used to actually build the project. In order to generate build instructions for all possible configurations, it needs to process the project file multiple times, one time for each configuration. For your second question: your project is built only in debug mode if that's what you selected, but build instructions are created for release mode too, as already mentioned above. When using "make" with mingw for example (rather than Visual Stu

Perl script suffers random __fortify_fail errors, but continues to run without any errors. Should I be worried?
Given the updated screen shot in your most recent edit, it appears there's a bug in an XS module overflowing a buffer, and that's what the stack backtrace is complaining about. You can see in the screen shot the backtrace: /lib64/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x37)[0x7fb026838637] /lib64/libc.so.6(+0xf8690)[0x7fb026836690] /home/ex2-user/j_authority/_Inline/lib/auto/author_da35/author_da35.so(profiles_c+0x27fd)[0x7fb008a529ad] /home/ex2-user/j_authority/_Inline/lib/auto/author_da35/author_da35.so(XS_author_profiles_c+0x32a)[0x7fb008a55afa] So, it appears you're in the middle of this XS module when Fortify detected a stack overflow. This suggests a function-local array to some function internal to author_da35 got overrun. This could happen if, for example, it sized some structure expecting

JSLint has reached the limit of 1,000 errors or it is confused by earlier errors and can't continue
You've got some JS*H*int options (like eqeqeq, apparently) in the jslint line. It's choking there. So change... /*jslint browser: true, forin: true, white: false, on: true, fragment: true, eqeqeq: true */ ... to ... /*jslint browser: true, forin: true, white: false */ ... and I bet it works. Note: It's almost always a good idea to get a simplest case example of code that's screwing up in JSLint and paste it into JSLint.com. Crockford keeps that URL all but up to the minute with JSLint's github repo, and it was reporting a much more user-friendly error (Unexpected 'on'.) than the unfortunate "JSLint's confused" it was telling you. Just to make sure there wasn't something else making JSLint think there were 1000+ errors, I changed your white to true, removed the unused w and d, and

Separate internal errors from client errors in custom WCF error handling?
You should create your own exception class by deriving from System.Exception and throwing them where your validation fails. In your IErrorHandler implementation you should check if the exception is yours and return the Status code you want. For example if MyException was the derived exception: public void ProvideFault(Exception error, MessageVersion version, ref Message fault) { MyException me = error as MyException; if(me != null) // Set the status code. }

First, you should use Option Explicit which is a result of Require Variable Declaration option set to true in VBA editor options. If you did so I think some/all of your problems you could solve on your own. Second, your Results and DataEntries are recognised as empty variables. If so you try to change sheets names into empty string which is not allowed. So you need to make the following changes (adding some quotation marks): If ws.Name = "Sheet1" Then Sheet1.Name = "Results" ElseIf ws.Name = "Sheet2" Then Sheet2.Name = "DataEntries" End If Third, your loop will be run only once as you have Exit For line executed during first iteration- you should remove it as I can't find the reason to place it there. Fourth, there could be some more problems but not seeing

New Relic warning: the Xdebug extension prevents the New Relic agent from gathering errors. No errors will be recorded

How to use proxy authentication with xsd.exe
For this one I figured out that the WMS.xml provided by the OGC does NOT have all it's namespaces working correctly. In particular one of the URL references (http://www.digitalearth.gov/wmt/xml/capabilities_1_1_1.dtd) does NOT exist anymore which was confusing my network hence returning a 407 proxy authentication required error. THE SOLUTION: Change the DTD referenced in OGCs capabilities.xml file to point to the DTD on their website. Why it doesn't already point to that by default I DO NOT KNOW. digitalearth.gov looks like it's been down since 2006 so it's very old. Anyway once the reference for the DTD was changed I was able to create the XSD and c# class with ease.

Why we use Dynamic Proxy
A common use-case is for Aspect-Oriented Programming, in which you seek to apply common functionality across a number of components without requiring the components themselves to implement the functionality. In these cases you can use a dynamic proxy to wrap all targeting components with additional behavior. Doing so A couple examples: ORMs such as Hibernate and Entity Framework do this to provide a persistence implementation around a code-first design. The core domain classes are built without any knowledge of their persistence, and the frameworks either wrap or extend these classes at startup to handle the actual implementation. Wrapping all members of an interface with an aspect such as logging, or caching. For example, if you want to log every method call on ISomeInterface you

Python Proxy Through SSH
You could implement a SOCKS proxy in the paramiko client that routes connections across the SSH tunnel via paramiko's open_channel method. Unfortunately, I don't know of any out-of-the-box solution that does this, so you'd have to roll your own. Alternatively, run a SOCKS server on the server, and just forward that single port via paramiko.
