Deploying and SQL Server 2005 Express connecting for a standard user
My aim was to do software ready installation with SQL available for everyone standard Users. Finally, I used MS Database Publishing Wizard 1.1 and not Server Management Studio Express 2005 or 2012 to make scripts for databases with data and schema for repository data. Solution for deploying at different platforms was by adding the following lines at the beginning of scripts: CREATE USER [Users] FOR LOGIN [BUILTINUsers] GO exec sp_addrolemember db_datareader, Users go exec sp_addrolemember db_datawriter, Users go

SQL Server Express 2012 Installation fails with Could not find the Database Engine startup handle in SQL Server Express 2012
I have found the solution. It was, in fact, a r/w rights error. I have added following users to my profile folder: IUSR Local Service Network IIS_IUSRS Service I know I went overkill here but I wanted to be sure without giving everyone access rights. I will disable them one by one and find the right one(s) needed to properly run SQL Server Express 2012.

SQL Server 2008R2 Express upgrade to SQL Server 2012 Express
As documented, upgrade is supported from SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Express to SQL Server 2012 Express. Install the 2008 R2 SP1, and run installation of 2012 Express normally. It should pick up and offer an upgrade. Your operating system is also supported.

Connecting to database in Express
You're missing the mysql module. var express = require('express') , http = require('http') , mysql = require('mysql'); But also you need to connect(): connection.connect(); Before you start querying the database. All-together now for laziness: var express = require('express') , http = require('http') , mysql = require('mysql'); // <---- HERE var app = express(); var connection = mysql.createConnection({ host: 'localhost', user: 'root', password: "root", database: 'restaurant' }); connection.connect(); // <---- AND HERE // all environments app.set('port', process.env.PORT || 7002); app.get('/',function(request,response){ connection.query('SELECT * FROM restaurants', function(err, rows, fields) { console.log('Connection result erro

Read SQL Server 2014 ldf file
As far as I know there is nothing like that in SQL Server 2014. So far your options are third party log readers. I’ve used ApexSQL Log couple years ago and it did the job for me but I know there is also log reader from Quest that I haven’t used. Another option is to switch to another auditing solution such as DML and DDL triggers, or traces.

I just ran in to this issue as well but then was able to find the solution. You just need the newer version of SSMSE which is now 2008! Here's the MS download page: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7593

Problems connecting to MySQL db in EC2 instance (iOS/AFNetworking)
Got it working. Turns out I was sending off the port parameter incorrectly with the mysqli_connect() function which clearly shows the port being the fifth parameter. The initial connection in iOS to the EC2 instance should also NOT contain the port in the address. These are the settings I used that worked: #define kAPIHost @"http://54.215.166.236" $link = mysqli_connect("54.215.166.236","user","password", "db", "3306");

How can I rollback an UPDATE query in SQL server 2014?
Nothing has changed with the newer versions of SQL Server: a committed transaction is still considered permanent, so the only method of rollback is to revert to a previous backup and apply transaction logs up to that point. Edited to add... There is one other tool that has existed for a few versions of SQL Server, and that's Snapshots. It is possible to revert a database to a previous snapshot, so for example the instructions for SQL 2008 at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189281(v=sql.105).aspx. However this is not a replacement for backups and transaction logs which you will still need to keep available. You will also need to research what impact the snapshot has on performance (if any) - I can't vouch for their usability: you might find that they're ideal in a dev or test env

View all transaction logs in SQL Server 2014
As far as I know your only options for this are: Third party tool ApexSQL Log (Red Gate has a free tool but only for SQL Server 2000) Undocumented commands such as DBCC LOG or fn_dblog. Change data capture – this is SQL Server feature that automatically creates history tables but its only available in enterprise edition We are also evaluating SQL Server 2014 CTP 1 for it’s in memory features but I haven’t been able to find anything on this topic. I don’t really believe MS is going to allow this any time sooner. Right now their focus is on enterprise level features such as high availability, in memory queries and such… Also, they have their own version of this in CDC.

sqlsrv error while connecting to mssql server 2008 on windows 2003 server
Two ways to try, first to check if the Native driver has the right version - is your server really a 32bit Version and not 84bit? The other thing is, to check if the extensions are actually loaded. To check that, create a file like "phpinfo.php" and put it in you folder for .htdocs. <?php // show phpinfo file phpinfo(); ?> The easy way is to search for it in the phpinfo-Page with Ctrl+F and "extension=php_sqlsrv_53_ts_vc9.dll"

Does Sql Server 2014's "Hekaton" compiled stored procedures address parameter sniffing issues?
As far as I know when you create "native" stored procedure it will be compiled to the native code immediately and it will not go through Query Optimizer. So I don't think "parameter sniffing" issue will be an issue.

MVC 4 Why do i have to serialize on the server but not locally?
In your web.config, there is a section like <sessionState mode="InProc" cookieless="false" timeout="60" /> this specifies that your app will take the Session property of Controller to be a data structure within the same process as your application. On the server, it is very likely that the section looks like <sessionState mode="StateServer" stateConnectionString="tcpip=someIPAddress" cookieless="false" timeout="60" /> This tag specifies that you are using ASP.Net StateServer, a separate process from your application that is responsible for storing Session data (which is probably what is in your TempData call). Since it is another process, the way .NET gets data into there and out is by serializing what you are trying to store and deserializing what you are trying to retri

Can see custom font on server, but not locally
If you are on, e.g. http://foo.com/bar/hello.html, and you encounter a URI with the form /Fonts/world.ttf, it refers to the URL http://foo.com/Fonts/world.ttf. From your data structure, it looks like the URI to point to your font should have the form /Shared/Assets/Fonts/world.ttf to result in a URL like http://foo.com/Shared/Assets/Fonts/world.ttf If you open up your developer console and look at network activity, you should see the wrong path in attempted/failing resource loads.

Have the current server time locally in the app.
This can be easily accomplished by using an NSDate subclass. e.g. @interface MyDate : NSDate{ } @end @implementation MyDate - (id) init{ if(![super initWithTimeIntervalSince1970:[ServerSingleton time]]) return nil; return self; } @end That should do what you are asking. As for the singleton, you don't need to check every second, that is a lot of work for the iOS device, the network, and your server. Instead, you only need to check the server once, at the start of your app. Then, have your singleton look something like this: - (void)checkTime{ self.timeOffset = serverTime - deviceTime; } - (time_t)time{ return deviceTime - self.timeOffset; } That should only require checking once, to get the current difference in time between the device and the server. Then, you jus

Moving from SQL Server 2008 Express to SQL Server 2012
Here is my own suggestion :- For sql server make backup of database and for Visual studio make backup of settings. Settings can be accessed through My document/Visual studio 2012/Settings Same way you got settings for sql server management studio. Having backup of setting make it easier to move to new version. Now uninstall both and restart your computer. After restart install both thing. It will be worked. if you want both version you can have it. Both software provide side by side installation. Remember that you maybe got some panic experience to have two database server on same computer. You can 2008,2010 both version without any conflict.

JQuery SlideToggle works locally but not on web server
It looks like you are using dynamic content. If that is the case you have to use .on() instead of .click(). $("#beerlist").on('click','div.beer',function() { $(this).next(".beerDetails").slideToggle(500); }); events are attached to elements when the page loads, and dynamic data is not in the DOM at that time. So with .on() you are attaching the event listener to a parent of the element. But the parent has to be hard coded into the page. Then when you click the element, it bubbles the event up the chain until it finds an event listener that matches.

IE8 CSS rotation works locally, but not uploaded to server
While using <meta http-equiv="... you ask the browser to add some content to the request header (msdn http-equiv) Maybe I get the "locally" in your question wrong - but if you don't use a local server - all you do is opening a file in the browser which is no request - so nothing is added to the response header - hence your <meta http-equiv="... is not evaluated. The IE version stays "IE8 Mode". ("locally") Delivered from the server the response header is now carrying your compatibility override to "edge" and so your IE10 which you set to IE8 Mode is getting "edge" which is IE10 in your case. So as @Spudley said to test on IE8 - don't use a IE10 because with your http-equiv compatibility rule you switch the render mode you just set manually. To spot this issues easier: u

Do I need a server to create a static Passbook, why not do it locally in app?
If the pass is truly static, I.e. it does not contain the webServiceURL or authenticationToken keys and does not contain variable data provided by the user, then you do not require a server. You still need to create and sign the pass, but this can be done with the command line tool that Apple provide. Once you have your .pkpass bundle, you can either add the signed .pkpass bundle to your app bundle, or post it to a web server or CDN (E.g. Amazon S3). To add it to the users Passbook from within your app, retrieve it from your app bundle or external URL then pass it to a PKAddPassesViewController. Personally, I would opt for posting the .pkpass bundle somewhere online because it will allow you to change the pass without having to resubmit the app. Compiling a .pkpass from within an app

Problems getting an OpenCl example to build in MSVS 2012 express. Not finding header files but paths etc...seem fine
To provide an aggregate of the discussion on the comments; it appears the problem was solved by simply creating a new, clean project, adding the relevant directories and linker input manually (without any environment variable expansions) via the Project Properties dialog. As to the original problem.. I don't really know. The only thing in the command-line argstring that would have likely caused direct trouble was the /TC (compile as C89 code) switch, which was automatically "deduced" by Visual Studio based on the input source file extension (most likely .c in this case). Replacing /TC with /TP (compile as C++ code) should work. Also, the example source has been said to possibly having used either “ (U+201C), ” (U+201D) or even a ‟ (U+201F) as quotation mark glyphs instead of the
