How can I partially reveal and partially fill color in image
What you need is image masking. From apple docs - An image mask is a bitmap that specifies an area to paint, but not the color. In effect, an image mask acts as a stencil to specify where to place color on the page. Quartz uses the current fill color to paint an image mask. So as your percentage of download increases you decrease the alpha value of the uiimage below. Hope this is what you require.

Shrink UIImage in bordered UIImageView
I would add the image view into a container view and draw the border on the container view. If you're doing the container in XIB then you can set the size there. If you're doing it in code, set the image view frame as: imageView.frame = CGRectInset(containerView.bounds, 10, 10);

Applying Bootstrap "table-striped" after creating table rows dynamically
You should use append to tbody instead of before. The way it is now, the rows are added outside of tbody. Changing just this line: $('#table2 > tbody:last').append('<tr><td>' + i +'</td><td>b</td><td>c</td>'); Seems to make your jsFiddle work.

Bootstrap: Striped div table
Twitter Bootstrap's striping only works for table rows. So in order to stripe your divs you need to add each of them into a new row. For instance: <tr> <td> <div>text 1</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <div>text 2</div> </td> </tr> ... Also I'm not sure what you trying to achieve with colspan="3". If you want to create a proper table you need to create new td for each column. For instance: <tr> <td>2013-07-22</td> <td>Text for info field 1</td> <td>9.99</td> </tr>

Table with Bootstrap Tabs
Perhaps you could give the columns that belong to each tab their own unique class, e.g. .tab1-columns, .tab2-columns, etc. Then, you could show or hide the column depending on the active tab. The tabs, however, would exist outside of the table. Alternatively, you could pt the tabs into a pseudo- header row above the actual table header row, with the first header cell spanning those cells that shouldn't be "tabbed". However, I believe leaving the tabs outside of the table would be a bit more semantic in nature. HTH.

How do I collapse a table row in Bootstrap?
You are using collapse on the div inside of your table row (tr). So when you collapse the div, the row is still there. You need to change it to where your id and class are on the tr instead of the div. Change this: <tr><td><div class="collapse out" id="collapseme">Should be collapsed</div></td></tr> to this: <tr class="collapse out" id="collapseme"><td><div>Should be collapsed</div></td></tr> JSFiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/KnuU6/21/ EDIT: If you are unable to upgrade to 3.0.0, I found a JQuery workaround in 2.3.2: Remove your data-toggle and data-target and add this JQuery to your button. $(".btn").click(function() { if($("#collapseme").hasClass("out")) { $("#collapseme").addClass("in"); $(

Bootstrap CSS not applied to table td
Initially I was going to suggest that it was happening because of the cascading nature of style sheets, but you said you used !important Just to check, your code with !important looked like this: .notop { border-top:none !important; } Sometimes CSS can be really funny with how !important is used. Also, is the CSS sheet external, or embedded? Again, the order of sheets can often cause weird errors like this. Edit: Also, if it's an external style sheet, make sure it's included after the bootstrap CSS.

bootstrap table | Make responsive for small resolution
Is this close to what you are after? Live view Edit view If it is, firstly double check you have the correct path to Bootstrap CSS. Also you have some validation errors which might cause problems on some devices. For example at lines 17 & 18 you had <tr title="Posledná úprava: 3.8.2013 18:05"></tr> <td> ... which didn't look good It looks to me like your table needs a little over 600px to display properly. If you need better results on small screens one option would be to use a jQuery responsive table plugin, here's one to get you started. Good luck!

Twitter Bootstrap Dropdown in Table Data Cell
I think there's some errors in markup worthy to mentioned before all: your css class "search-table" possibly is not assumed to be applied to a table's row: <tr class="search-table"> Header row semantically better to wrap in "thead" tag and columns in the row markup as "th" tag: <thead> <tr class="search-table"> <th>Product</th> <th>Details</th> <th>Brand</th> <th>ID</th> <th>Vendors</th> </tr><thead> on the matter of question, I think that using Bootstrap framework and dropdowns wouldn't be convienient. IMHO collapsible elements would make the trick of show of some extra info. Just wrap collpsible divs into table's cell, it will look something like that: http://jsfiddle.net/aizekAzimov/9LHw2/

Creating merged table cells using Twitter Bootstrap
I'm not sure how exactly to do it with Bootstrap, but I know how to do it in HTML: You can use a combination of the colspan and rowspan attributes, where rowspan is used for table headers spanning multiple rows, and the same applies to colspan and columns. Break up your table headers into rows, according to their levels. So the first table row will consist of your "parent" headers, i.e. the headers that every other header and piece of data is going to fall under. Your first row should have 3 columns: State, Utilities Company and Summer Period. Add subsequent header rows for each level you drill down. Here, your next row will simply be the table headers for each data set. Let's apply the attributes: Your 1st th for State spans 2 rows, so we add rowspan="2". The same applies to

Are the Twitter Bootstrap span classes appropriate for setting table column widths?
The markup is entirely valid. They are not actually span elements, just CSS styles. It just so happens that the CSS styles do what the developer wanted. However, these may change future versions and cause unexpected effects - so it's not recommended to do this.

Partially override a function in php
No. You can set a default function parameter, but you cannot override the local values of a function you call. class Manager{ function a($var1 = 10, $var2 = 20){ // default value of $var1: 10; of $var2: 20 var_dump($var1 * $var2); echo "<br> var1=" . $var1 . "<br>"; echo "var2=" . $var2; } } class Sub extends Manager{ function a(){ $var1 = 20; parent::a($var1); // you set $var1 parameter of function to 20; $var2 is set to the dafault value: 20 } } $s = new Sub(); $s->a(); (btw. if you really want to redefine the function, you can use the runkit extension; but I wouldn't consider it.) Also, when you have more subclasses, you can change them to match this format.

Getting records structured the same way only partially
The parent table seems like the best option. // This is the parent table Entry ID PK Common fields Video ID PK EntryID FK Unique fields Game ID PK EntryID FK Unique fields ... What the queries will look like will largely depend on the type of query. To, for example, get all games ordered by a certain date, the query will look something like: SELECT * FROM Game JOIN Entry ON Game.EntryID = Entry.ID ORDER BY Entry.AddDate To get all content ordered by date, will be somewhat messy. For example: SELECT * FROM Entry LEFT JOIN Game ON Game.EntryID = Entry.ID LEFT JOIN Video ON Video.EntryID = Entry.ID ... ORDER BY Entry.AddDate If you want to run queries like the one above, I suggest you give unique names to your primary key fields (i.e. VideoID and GameID) so you can

SQL partially works but needs a few WHERE clauses - I think
You can't have two else clauses in an IF. And you can't do the UPDATE in two separate queries, because the second one will simply undo the first one. Use the following query: UPDATE tbl_favourites SET favourite_active = NOT favourite_active WHERE user_id = '$who' and `favourite_id = '$usernum' I'm also not sure that the first part, which you say works, really works. Your SELECT query looks specifically for favourite_active = 1. If the user already exists with favourite_active = 0, you'll try to INSERT them. Is that really what you want? Maybe you should remove AND favourite_active = '1'. If user_id and favourite_id form a unique index on the table, you can do the entire thing in a single query: INSERT INTO tbl_favourites (user_id, favourite_id, favourite_active) VALUES ('$who', '$user
