Why are inline css doesn't work in wordpress
Errr... wrong place to put your closing div tag. Try this one: return "<div><div style='border: 1px solid red; position : absolute; top: 10px; left: 10px; width: 30px; height: 30px;'><img src='http://localhost/jlin.jpg' id='wow'></div></div>"; (hint: compare the two line endings) [edit] OK try this one: return "<div style='position:relative'><div style='border: 1px solid red; position : absolute; top: 10px; left: 10px; width: 30px; height: 30px;'></div><img src='http://localhost/jlin.jpg' id='wow'></div>"; (hint: your original code + the position:relative)

CSS3PIE doesn't work with wordpress
You must put the entire website url in behavior, to have it working with Wordpress. If the problem prospers, you can install a simple plugin: IE CSS3 Support. It uses PIE v1. If you want to make PIE v2 functions working with this plugin: After you the install of plugin, you can download the PIE v2(latest) an upload it in wp-content/plugins/ie-css3-support/markup (please rename the old pie to have it as a restore file). After that, you can open /wp-content/plugins/ie-css3-support/core.php file and add in the array, the other css values, that are available in the PIE v2. EDIT Plugin URL: http://wordpress.org/plugins/ie-css3-support/ ATTENTION: If you are using z-index in the page who uses css3, you MUST increase it! (if it is not a big number) Hope it helps you!

Scheduled Email CiviCRM in wordPress doesn't work
If test emails are going out, but the actual mailing doesn't go out, there's a problem in your scheduled jobs. Unlike test emails, quick "Send an Email" emails, and automated receipts, CiviMail queues up your emails for sending but doesn't actually pull the trigger to send them. This is actually a feature--it allows you to decide how fast you want the emails to go out--but it does require at least some basic configuration. The job to push the mail out the door is a "scheduled job" found in Administer - System Settings - Scheduled Jobs. The Send Scheduled Mailings job (called Mailings Scheduler in some older versions) needs to be enabled in order for mail to go out. The Fetch Bounces job (or Bounces Fetcher) needs to be enabled in order to handle bounced emails. Finally, you'll need t

Why shellcodes with jmp instruction work, and why doesn't the labels work inside a C wrapper?
The address of mesg can vary depending on how your program is laid out in memory. The following will hard-code a specific address and will not work reliably (or at all): mov ecx, mesg For reference, the first approach hard-codes the following address: mov ecx, 0x804807d The second approach does work because it figures out the address of mesg at runtime, using the return address of a call instruction. Put another way, the first version only works if loaded at a specific address whereas the second is position-independent. It is worth noting that the jmp and the call instructions that appear in the second version use relative addressing, meaning that the opcodes specify the distance to the target rather than the address of the target. This makes these instructions work regard

main program work good , but when put it into a function doesn't work pyQt
You aren't seeing any windows in the class based version because the function calls finalise and your PyQt objects are being garbage collected. In the simple first case you have, the variables containing your PyQt objects remain in scope for the duration. In this simple case, the easiest way to see this in action is store your PyQt objects in instance variables, ie. self.Frame and self.MainWindow to retain references to the object so that Python doesn't garbage collect them. Generally you would not work with PyQt in this fashion. You subclass the relevant object and do setup in the initialiser.

Why doesn't a DOM2"click" event work, when it does work for "mouseover"?
As far as i can tell the link <a id="workID" href="#">WORK</a> is not bound to a click event handler. In the screenshot you can see that you have set several events, but on click is not set. In your main.js you are calling the function showWorkPane() but in this function you define no event handler for onClick: function showWorkPane() { var workID = document.getElementById("workID"); workID.addEventListener("mouseover", showWorkPaneHandler, false); // add an event handler for click } To address your question: Why doesn't a DOM2“click” event work, when it does work for “mouseover”? Well you have to bind both events (click and mouseover). And currently i am looking into your code and it looks like that the eventhandler onmouseout which fires hideWorkP

.htaccess redirect doesn't work on first load, but does work on refresh
Your rule is fine. It redirects for me in every browser. What's probably happening is that when you click on the link, your browser brings up a cached copy of the PDF. But when you explicitly reload the page, it sends the request to the server instead of pulling up a cached copy of the page and you see the redirect. If you want to test it again, clear your chrome cache and hit the link again.

Same url, work like reference to style, but doesn't work like AJAX call
The simplest answer will be to use a local web server like WAMP(or IIS) if you are not already. the second answer is Chrome and Safari has a restriction on using ajax with local resources. That's why it's throwing an error like Origin null is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. Solution: Use firefox or upload your data to a temporary server. If you still want to use Chrome, start it with the below option; --allow-file-access-from-files More info how to add the above parameter to your Chrome: Right click the Chrome icon on your task bar, right click the Google Chrome on the pop-up window and click properties and add the above parameter inside the Target textbox under Shortcut tab. It will like as below; C:UsersXXX_USERAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe --al

Why doesn't CGContextShowGlyphsAtPositions() work, when CGContextShowGlyphsAtPoint() does work?
One possibility is this, from the CGContextShowGlyphsAtPositions document: The position of each glyph is specified in text space, and, as a consequence, is transformed through the text matrix to user space. The text matrix is a separate property of the context, distinct from the graphics state's current transformation matrix. It doesn't say that about CGContextShowGlyphsAtPoint: This function displays an array of glyphs at the specified position in the user space. (Emphasis added to both quotes.) So, your text matrix is not actually used when you show glyphs from a single point. But then, when you show glyphs at an array of positions, it is used, and you see the symptom of a wrong matrix. Specifically, your matrix to try to flip the text back the other way is wrong: it flips

wordpress doesn't register custom jquery
Odds are the selectors are not returning the DOM elements when being run. This can happen if the elements are being created by another set of javascript/jquery. Using firebug, set a breakpoint at your first attempt to bind an event handler, and in your watch window set a watch for the jQuery selector, and see if the array is 0 or populated. If the DOM elements are being created afterwards, you may want to look at using the jQuery on method http://api.jquery.com/on/ . It can be a bit tricky to wrap your mind around...but once you got it your code should work with no issues.

You need to alter the loop within wordpress, set some arguments like this and then pass the arguments through the WP_QUERY E.G This will get the latest posts $args = array( post_type => 'post', posts_per_page => '20', tax_query => array( array( 'taxonomy' => 'category', 'terms => 'your custom slug here' 'field' => 'slug' ), ), ); $query = wp_query($args) then pass $query to the posts like so while($query->have_posts() : $query->the_posts();

Wordpress doesn't send any email confirmation
Sometimes BuddyPress runs into issues sending emails with Wordpress's email function. Try installing WP-Mail-SMTP and configuring that with your SMTP mail settings. If that doesn't work, see if there are any plugins installed that might be deactivating these emails. For example, the "BP Disable Activation" plugin deactivates both emails. If that's the case, you'll probably have to edit the code of either the plugin or BuddyPress.

Wordpress have_comments does not work
You call have_comments() before you call get_comments(). It's likely just the issue you have the wrong processing-flow here. Wordpress makes use of global static state so the order of things is important (and easy to miss): <?php $comments = get_comments(); if( have_comments() ) { ?> <section class='post-comments'> <?php foreach($comments as $comm) { ?> <div class='post-each-comment'> Also codex says that have_comments() depends on the loop so that is $post. It could be that even my example code suggestion above does not make it to deal with the static state properly so you need to trouble-shoot this is a little to find out what to use. E.g. as get_comments() returns an array this normall

Why after updating a custom WordPress theme it doesn't change?
WP doesn't cache anything unless you have any caching plugins enabled. Try disabling all plugins and double checking that the files you deleted are really the ones that you're seeing in your browser. Right click on any images to get their source then compare them with the path of the image on the server, are they the same?

Why move_uploaded_file method does not work in WordPress?
EDIT Okay first of all, you can not upload a file from any of the metaboxes. Reason? Well, because WordPress wraps all of the post stuff inside a <form> which does not have the necessary attributes to upload files. So the solution is to provide an option to upload using WordPress default media uploader and save the URL instead. Here is a working example. Please use this as a guide, not as your production code. In reality you'd like to fine tune the media uploader button so that multiple button can add multiple urls to multiple inputs. http://example.com/wordpress-plugins/my-plugin Description: A plugin demonstrating Cron in WordPress Version: 1.0 Author: Brad Williams Author URI: http://wrox.com License: GPLv2 */ add_action( 'init', 'register_tagging_post

Some functions don't work when using two databases in Wordpress
Ok so after hours of investigation it seems that WP caches all the available taxonomies on initialization, so when switching DB it will not re-check available taxonomies. It does however select data from the correct DB so that was not the issue. The solution I came up with was simply adding the missing taxonomies to the new DB (temporarily), and after the migration I'll just remove them.

Wordpress links/site title won't work
Here is how to fix your permalink structure. Download a copy of your WP database from your live site by going to: tools > export. Open the file in a text editor. Find all instances of your current site url's and replace it with your test sites url. Only the URL, not pages. From: www.website.com to www.website.com/test. Also look for WP admin related pages. You might have to do a bit of trial and error until your able to completely change all instances of the site url. Save and upload it to your test server, and you should be good to go. This works for either way. Moving WP form Development to Production or moving Production to Development. Pro Tip: You can also do replace with a bit of SQL. This might point you in the right direction Also in my opinion you should include your javascript code at the bottom of the page. Enabling pretty permalinks on Wordpress - apache configuration does not work
Make sure the AllowOverrides directive is set to all in the vhost - that's what tells apache to look for .htaccess files in the webroot. A better solution is actually to put your rewrite directives in the vhost, as you clearly have write access to the file. When you have AllowOverrides on, apache will look in the directory and all parent directories for .htaccess files on every request, which can be a big performance hit. For Wordpress, your vhost should look something like: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName example.com DocumentRoot /var/www/site <Directory /var/www/site> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index.php

I am doubtful of the src URL of your script at the document head: <script type="text/javascript" src="./jquery.js"></script> These URLs might be the problem. It may work correctly in your local server, but not on a live URL. You may need to change it to "/jquery.js" because the "." refers to the current directory.
