Tabs open according to links on sub menu
You can do this using Javascript. Just toggle property display of that class from none to block and vice versa. If you are using jQuery, you can do this: $(document).ready(function() { $('#cat_link').click(function() { $('#tabs-1').hide(); $('#tabs-2').show(); return false; }); $('#item_link').click(function() { $('#tabs-2').hide(); $('#tabs-1').show(); return false; }); }); You also have jQuery-UI widget tabs. If you are using pure javascript, you can do it like this (reference): function hideshow(which){ if (!document.getElementById) return if (which.style.visibility=="visible") which.style.display="hidden" else which.style.display="visible" }

How do I open javascript div tabs with a link on the page
You just need to set the link up so that it doesn't take the user to a new page, and then setup a click event to open the tab up. Example: HTML: <a href='javascript:void(0);' id='reviewLink'>Review Tab</a> JavaScript: $('#reviewLink').click(function() { $('.shortcode_tab_item_body').css({display:'none'}); $('.body2').css({display:'none'}); }); Or a jsfiddle here: http://jsfiddle.net/tKLhn/

Validating one form with multiple tabs, how to switch tabs without losing validation errors? Using Myfaces and Trinidad
I ended up using basic Javascript + CSS tabs for this. For my use-case, the tabs are really cosmetic, ie, they break up the page but aren't meant to be submitted separately. I also considered using pure CSS tabs, however from my investigation they don't work with cases where the heights of the tabs are not all equal and may change using AJAX. The best solution I can come up with is to make a list of <a> links, then use the onclick Javascript event for each URL to make the div ("tab") that it is attached to (using the href attribute of the <a> to save the id of the div you are trying to open), and in the onclick change the display CSS property of the divs (by changing the className Javascript property to show 1 div and hide the others). That way as you click through the list

Bootstrap links in tabs not working
In your javascript you select all '.tabbable a''s with jquery and prevent the default click action: $('.tabbable a').click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); $(this).tab('show'); }); You should make it: $('.tabbable .nav-tabs a').click( //etc.. This way no other a's are selected by jQuery.. Also I should point out that linking your site in StackOverflow to let people look into your bug/problem is against the rules. Only post the code (HTML/CSS/JS) so that others finding the question can solve their problems with it too.

Regex: Find four tabs, but then select the first { prior to the tabs
You can reverse the question: Find the first { that is followed by a line with four (or more) leading tabs. This regex does the trick: {s* {4,} If for whatever reason you really only want to match the { itself, you can either put it in a group: ({)s* {4,} or use a look-ahead to make the whole match only {: {(?=s* {4,})

Need to add toggle effect to this: jQuery("ul.tabs-nav").tabs("> .pane");
I'm a bit of a beginner too, but I recently found how to do this. Add {show: { effect: "blind", duration: 1000 }, hide: { effect: "blind", duration: 1000 }} in your tabs() like so: $out =' <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function($){ jQuery("ul.tabs-nav").tabs({show: { effect: "blind", duration: 1000 }, hide: { effect: "blind", duration: 1000 }) }); </script> <div class="post-tabs'.$type.'"> '.do_shortcode($content).' </div> '; return $out; I've excluded the "> .pane" because I don't know how to include it with proper syntax.

jquery-ui tabs callback not triggered when tabs are first initialized
It is because the first tab is not selected, it is activated as part of the widget initialization, which does not trigger the select event. One possible solution is to set the initialization value for oldTab as part of declaration. var oldTab; var newTab = mytabs.find('> ul a:first'); mytabs.tabs({ select: function(event, ui) { oldTab = newTab; newTab = $(ui.tab); if (oldTab){ console.log("do stuff with oldTab",oldTab.get()); } console.log("do stuff with newTab", newTab.get()); } }); Demo: Plunker

I don't think there is any kind of plugin that does what you are trying to achieve. The best and closest you can find is http://pastehtml.com/view/1by9nfd.html or http://jqueryui.com/sortable/#connect-lists-through-tabs I am not sure why do you need to do that but if possible, try considering a different approach or build the tab like feature using DIV and throw it inside the draggable container mix it with the samples given in the links and play with it. I highly doubt that someone will be able to provide you the exact sample you are looking for.

Can window.open open multiple tabs at once?
There's no concept of tab in standard DOM. In fact when you ask the browser to open a window it might be a tab, depending on the browser and user settings. So, apart writing extensions that the user will have to install, no, you can't do that.

Angular UI - tabs inside tabs
I ran into this same issue. It appears to work fine in 0.4.0 of Aungular UI - Bootstrap, but not in 0.5.0 as in your example. http://plnkr.co/edit/ROMOqn9gPc0IBKgxh8LN There is also a related issue that's currently open in github (#783). It appears directly related and produces the same javascript error as your plunker. I can't post this link because I don't have enough reputation points at the moment to post more than two links. The other two links were more informative. In my case, I also ended not using angular UI and just used angular concepts with bootstrap. http://plnkr.co/edit/Xor7B8erA1b8aD3FhEi2 Hope that helps!

Difference between $('#tabs a') and $('#tabs').find('a')
$("#tabs a") evaluates from right to left - which is the native direction of both Sizzle selector engine and querySelectorAll - i.e. first it finds all of the anchor elements in the page and then narrows it down to those under #tabs. $("#tabs").find("a") evaluates - more intuitively - from left to right, i.e. first it finds #tabs, and then only the anchor elements under it. Clearly the latter would yield better performance, but it would only be noticeable accumulatively; that is, if you run thousands of queries. Otherwise, the difference is negligible.

Slow loading time when many tabs are open in vim
If this is a bug, a short way to reproduce it would be very helpful. But first ensure that nothing in your configuration or used plugins causes this. Try to reproduce in a clean Vim, started via: $ vim -N -u NONE Also, this may be caused by autocmds. When you see the problem, try :set eventignore=all and see whether it goes away. If you can indeed reproduce this in plain Vim (of a recent build), please send your findings to the vim_dev mailing list.

Save socket.io ID for all open tabs in browser
ID of the socket will be different in any cases, and should be not used to identify user in any case. It is only used to identify Socket it self. What you are looking for is session. Ability to relate socket connection to session - is what you are looking for. In order to do so, you need to have sessions created for new http connections as well as restore this session during handshake process of socket.io. That way you will be able to identify that specific socket belongs to specific session. And then user data and other stuff you keep to session. This helps in many cases - restore session on page refresh or have single session in multiple tabs as you need it. Read this answer of how to restore socket.io session id from handshake process: http://www.danielbaulig.de/socket-ioexpress/

node.js page in different tabs shows the same page source code
Yes, it's because your browser caches page sources and when you are trying to view it, shows the latest loaded page. If you add some logging, you'll understand what i mean. http.createServer(function (req, res) { res.writeHead(200, {'Content-Type': 'text/html'}); res.write('<p>' + Math.random() + '</p>'); res.end(); console.log('Message has been sent'); }).listen(3000); When you open your page in new tab, you can see in console that browser loads new version of it. But when you trying to view the source browser doesn't load anything. If you want to avoid this behaviour, try to reload the source, after you open it.
