Unable to access Samba folder from Windows (Using Raspberry Pi XMBC as a Samba Server)
That may depend on the directory and file rights. If the us who runs smb have no access rights, you can't read or write files. You can find out file permissions with ls -la you will also see owner and owner group. You can try to set read and write permissions for all (chmod 777 directory -R). If this was the problem, then you should give read and write permissions only to the user that runs smb. Set permissions for all back to 0 (770) because of security reasons. Here you find a tutorial on set up samba for Rasapberry Pi.

I think this error happens when your file times are newer than your system clock. make warns you that it may not be building everything correctly because of this. touching all your files should sort out the problem. One of the causes is an SCM system that preserves file times and is ahead of your system clock.

Installation of ubuntu 12.04: win7 not detected, partitions not detected
You need to run the Ubuntu GRUB bootloader, follow the instructions on the Ubuntu website https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2/Installing#Reinstalling_GRUB_2 When I installed ubuntu, I lost my partitions on the drive, in the end I reverted to having two drives one with Windows 7 and the other with Ubuntu, I had to recover the drive with partition recovery software (TestDisk). Skipping the quick scan saves time as you will probably want to do a full scan. http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step

Why /lib/ld-linux.so.2 soname version bumps are so rare?
Whenever a library is changed in a way that old programs do not work with the new version of the library this number is chaned. If old programs will still work with the newer library (and programs needing the new version will not cause a crash with the old library) there is no need to change the number because you can simply install the latest version of the library. As far as I understand the "2" (it was "1" ten years ago) should not change any longer. The reason is simple: The first version of "ld-linux.so.2" was written in a way that any version of "ld-linux.so.2" should work with any program using this file - maybe printing an error message when an older version of "ld-linux.so.2" is used. This means: It is never necessary to install two different "ld-linux.so.2" files but it is eno

Python Smtp SSL wrong version on linux
I bet the problem is on the other side of the wire. Hello, Microsoft! I've tried logging in a number of times, and you won't believe me, but some servers will let me in, while others won't. Try doing smtp.ehlo() in order to find the server's hostname (by the way, you must issue EHLO at the beginning of your session, and immediately after STARTTLS). All their servers have names BLU0-SMTP<somenumber>phx.gbl. Believe me or not, but servers with two digits in their name are OK, but those with three digits are not. Meaning of version info in .mod.c file in Linux kernel
The __versions section contained in all the individual *.mod.c files CRC Symbol { 0xa6d8dcb5, "module_layout" }, { 0x16c2b958, "register_netdevice" }, ... ... is a list of symbols and their corresponding CRCs. This has 2 main uses : Global list of all exported symbols. Module versioning check when loading ko modules. Rationale behind Module versioning Module versioning is enabled by the CONFIG_MODVERSIONS tag, and is used as a simple ABI consistency check. A CRC value of the full prototype for an exported symbol is created. When a module is loaded/used, the CRC values contained in the kernel are compared with similar values in the module; if they are not equal, the kernel refuses to load the module as it indicates that the module is built with

How Should I Debug Samba with GDB
Download samba source code from http://www.samba.org and compile it (without source code, it will be impossible to do symbolic debugging). Stop or kill any other samba instances. Start samba under gdb: gdb <path/to/compiled/smbd> Specify smbd parameters: set args -i -M single Parameters -i -M single force smbd to start as single process, do not daemonize and print all messages and errors to stdout/stderr. Now, you can set breakpoints and trace your source code as you normally would with any other program. Note: instead of using gdb, you might find more convenient to use gdb-tui (gdb text user interface), or use other debuggers like ddd.

Installing subversion under /apps other than /var/www/ is not working. Centos Linux version
In the httpd.conf file your Document Root Section probally says <Directory "/var/www"> Also you can give apache ownership of that directory but only if such is placed in the document root. (If I understand you this may not work for you) chown -R apache.apache /apps Apache can access items outside the root but that is soemthing I am not familiar with and you can look into the apache Alias EDIT As the comment under your OP says SVNADMIN should be able to create the repo and you should be able to hit it. mkdir /app/svn svnadmin create /app/svn/testrepository chown svn:svn -R /app/svn Subversion also is very nice about keeping space low since it only stores revisions to projects instead or brand new versions each time. EDIT Setup Walkthrough - Posted in comments

Automount samba folder on Mac
I followed https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3221944?start=15&tstart=0 The key is setting the mount point in your home directory is by following three steps. Add this line to the end of /etc/auto_master: /- auto_smb Created /etc/auto_smb with the following line: /Users/user/mount -fstype=smbfs,soft smb://domain;user:password@server/folder Run automount: automount -vc The troubleshooting points are: If you encounter "Too many users" you need to review your SMB path for syntax errors. Also be careful of incorrect username / passwords, or passwords with special symbols. e.g. @ would need to be replaced with %40.

on Linux, how can I resolve WARNING: Nokogiri was built against LibXML version 2.8.0, but has dynamically loaded 2.9.0 ?
The implicit question here seems to be "why am I getting this warning, and what can I do about it?" You are getting the warning because Nokogiri was built (it is a largely native-extension gem, requiring compilation) against LibXML version 2.8.0, and your system has since upgraded LibXML to version 2.9.0. This is a warning, not at error -- in many cases, Nokogiri will continue to work fine with a newer version of LibXML than it was built against. If you run into problems or just want to be on the safe side, rebuilding Nokogiri will solve the issue -- it will be built against the version of LibXML currently installed.

Android - Mount a Samba share in code
Probably smbfs/cifs are currently not supported by your kernel. As Delyan said, ensure your kernel can mount these filesystem : $ cat /proc/filesystems nodev sysfs nodev rootfs nodev bdev nodev proc nodev cgroup nodev tmpfs nodev debugfs nodev sockfs nodev usbfs .... If they are not listed, you should try to do a modprobing (sometimes the module you want just have to be activated), get root access then : # modprobe <modulename(without.ko)> e.g. : # modprobe cifs If it doesn't work you will have to change or recompile your kernel (including appropriate modules).

Why would my samba connection fail after an upgrade to windows 2012?
Windows Server 2012 includes latest version of SMB protocol 3.0 and it full of really interesting updates and improvements (details and some relevant discussion here). As with any serious improvements there is a compromise in terms of legacy clients support. Probably there is no support for SMB 3.0 on your Samba client side or some backward compatibility should be enabled on Server 2012 side.

How to port a linux driver , which is compiled in 2.6 kernel ,without compiling in other new version of kernel
now it's not possible: usually, a "driver" is a binary kernel-module porting will involve code-changes to the kernel module. if you change the code, you need to compile it, in order to get a binary. since kernel modules run in kernel space, it is crucial that they are robust. since parts of the kernel-API change every now and then, trying to use a module compiled for kernel-X with another kernel-Y, might either not load because of missing symbols (if you are lucky) or lead to a kernel panic because semantics have changed. btw, all this is not really related to 2.6.x vs 3.y, but holds true for any kernel version but then: of course in theory it is possible to "write" a kernel-module as binary code in your favourite hex-editor, without resorting to compilers and such. this would allow yo

Grails adding version to command object causes id and version from params not to be bound
Seems this is by design per Jeff Brown jira The data binding explicitly avoids binding id or version [if] they both exist and does this by design. This is a shield against potential security problems relevant to data binding as it relates to domain classes. A simple work around for command objects would be to name the properties with something like "idValue" and "versionValue" or anything other than "id" and "version".

'dependencies.dependency.version' is missing error, but version is managed in parent
In theory, maven does not allow to use a property to set a parent version. In your case, maven can simply not figure out that the 0.0.1-SNAPSHOT version of your parent pom is the one that is currently in your project, and so it tries to find it in your local repo. It probably finds one since it is a snapshot, but it is an old version that probably not contains your Dependency Management section. There is a workaround though : Simply change the parent section in the child pom with this : <parent> <groupId>com.sw.system4</groupId> <artifactId>system4-parent</artifactId> <version>${system4.version}</version> <relativePath>../pom.xml</relativePath> <!-- this must match your parent pom location --> </parent>

Linux users', specifically Apache, permissions settings, [Linux noob :]
usually any daemon will need to access a number of ressources. it is therefore good practice to run each daemon under a special user:group, rather than nobody:nogroup. traditionally (e.g. on Debian systems) apache runs as www-data:www-data. finally, user permissions take precedence over group permissions (which in turn take precedence over other permissions). this means that a directory where the user does not have write perms but the user's group can write is effectively r/o for that user (but not for other members of the group)

Exec(Linux). How it functions internally? Linux executable attributes(rlimit)
The RLIMIT_CORE is used to place a limit on the amount of info that coredump is allowed to produce, before it is aborted. Once this limit is hit, no more info is logged and the message Aborting Core is logged to the console. From the man page of core : A process can set its soft RLIMIT_CORE resource limit to place an upper limit on the size of the core dump file that will be produced if it receives a "core dump" signal. Use setrlimit() to configure RLIMIT_CORE to a larger value to obtain complete coredumps. The most common format of executables/shared-objects is ELF. On Linux, the dynamic loading and linking of these shared-objects is performed by ld.so ld.so is loaded in the address space of a newly created process (by exec in this case) and executed first. Exception DATABASE1.MDF' cannot be opened because it is version 655. This server supports version 612 and earlier. A downgrade path is not supported
Generally you get this when your database has been updated to a newer version of SQL Server than the server you are trying to attach it from. For instance if your database was upgraded from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008, you would no longer be able to open that database on SQL Server 2005. The "downgrade path is not supported" message implies that you can't open the newer database on an older SQL Server version. Suggestions: Upgrade the version of SQL Server (not visual studio, but your SQL Server version). or Open this database on a server with a newer version of SQL Server, then script out the entire database and reload it into your server. Either of these should get it working for your. I hope this helps!

Once the device is added, close the newer version of xcode, and open your older version (4.6) that you want to deveop on.
