Access denied for mysql user
Yo need to grant privileges not only from localhost, run this querys: create user 'spot'@'%' identified by 'fakepasswd'; grant all privileges on *.* to 'spot'@'%'; flush privileges; This allow the user to connect from ANY ip, you can replace the % with the ip of your server.

MySQL says Access denied for user
For this, I would verify that the MYSQL database user allows that username allows connections from that ip address. It seems that the user account was setup for 'username'@localhost or the password is incorrect

How can I fix the MySQL 'access denied' errors after db restore?
You need to specify username and password, you can try this: mysql -u USERNAME -pPASSWORD -h HOSTNAMEORIP DATABASENAME Note that there is no space between -p parameter and password! You can check this: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/connecting.html

MySQL Access denied for empty user
mysql_connect must be called before any other mysql operation calls. It's also generally a good idea to use the link resource: $link = mysql_connect(); mysql_query($query, $link); It would be even better to use PDO or mysqli as ext/mysql is deprecated.

MYSQL Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
It was absolutely correct what you did,but I guess not working just for a small thing. You should make identified by the password when you are going to grant privileges like the following example which I did.. mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ONE `*`.`*` TO 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '*A4B6157319038724E3560894F7F932C8886EBFCF' WITH GRANT OPTION; Try this,I hope your problem will be solved.

ACCESS DENIED to mysql DB with PHP but can login with phpmyadmin and on the command line
The user you're going to use with your scripting should have both the "@localhost" and "'@%'" - Have a peek at the man. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/adding-users.html This gave me a headache once.

mysql Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
I've solved this error. I'm posting this because someone could have encounter the same thing as me. The problem lies with the data source. Apparently something happen during the creation of data source. The password parameter is missing. So I deleted the current data source and created a new one again and the problem is solved.

MySQL on external server, access denied to valid user
Access was restricted to known IP addresses. As such, sending 'validuser'@'%' was NOT acceptable. All other methods send 'validuser'@'API server IP address', however the PHP script sent 'validuser'@'%'. I am not 100% certain what fixed it, however in the end, I removed Symfony 2 and PHP 5 and re-installed.

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Access denied for user 'a8004576'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Most likely you forgot to call mysql_connect (or include the script that calls it). Consequently, the first call to mysql_query is trying to log in using (incomplete) automatic information and failing. The hint is that the error message is the one typically returned by mysql_connect when invalid credentials are supplied, but it's coming from mysql_query instead.

MySQL "Unable to connect to host [host] because access was denied."
Did you issued the flush privileges after granting access to the wildcard user? What happens if you add an entry with user = sadmicrowave and host = [your actual ip] (don't forget to issue the flush privileges command after adding the user) ?

amzon s3 boto, grant a new group IAM access, 403 error
The problem is with your code that tries to extract the access_key_id and secret_access_key from the create_access_key method. Your code ends up truncating two characters from the secret_access_key. A better way to get the values would be to do this: user_conn=boto.connect_s3(key_response.access_key_id, key_response.secret_access_key) user_conn.create_bucket('<bucket_name>') There is no need to convert the key_response to a JSON string since the IAM calls return a special Python dictionary that allows you to access any embedded key by accessing it as an attribute. You could also use normal dictionary access like this: key_response['create_access_key_response']['create_access_key_result']['access_key']['access_key_id'] But as you can see, this is rather clumsy.

What is the best and easiest way to grant access to my site (OAuth, OpenID...)
I found that OpAuth [ https://github.com/opauth/opauth ] was fairly easy to implement. I should say though, Twitter will not expose you to the users email address which makes it almost useless when using a combination of other providers for a single sign on. You could of course have them manually verify everything in order to link other provider accounts to their twitter account, but then doesn't that defeat the purpose of single signon? Unless you, as a developer, and your users are willing to take extra steps, I would not suggest using Twitter as a sign on provider.

Securely Allow Users to Grant Tech Support Access to Their Account
I'd like to allow users [...] to grant access to their account for a time, with the option to manually revoke access. You are describing delegated authorization. The OAuth protocol is designed for exactly this, and is more secure. In OAuth 2.0 terms, the end user is a resource owner, and the system that tech support reps use to access a user's account is called a client. OAuth provides a way for a resource owner to grant a client access to his resources at a resource server. After the authorization process, the client receives an access token. The access permissions associated with the client's access token have a scope, which defines the degree of access authorization the client has for the resource owner's (the end user's) resources. This is more secure than your solution to share

How to grant access to a specific IP address that is blocked by GeoIP[country] in nGinx?
Finally found the solution for this problem. 1) in nginx.conf add http { geoip_country /usr/share/GeoIP/GeoIP.dat; map $geoip_country_code $allowed_country { default no; LV yes; # in my case it is Latvia (allowed country, but all other are not) } geo $exclusions { default 0; 123.123.123.123 1; # here comes allowed IP that is in blocked country list } } 2) in your vhost configuration server{} container if ($allowed_country = yes) { set $exclusions 1; } if ($exclusions = "0") { return 403; } The main idea is from HERE

How to grant connection and connect to phpmyadmin on server via mysql
The first thing to check is if the mysql server is running in 123.123.12.12. If the mysql server is running then the next thing to check would be that the server has port 1433 (in case of default) allowed in firewall. The final thing to check is your mysql.users table, if the user has either 123.123.12.12 or % in the host column. If the first two checks are okay and you are searching for a way to grant privileges to this user from 123.123.12.12 then you can do the following: grant all privileges on dbname.* to ‘user’@'123.123.12.12'; You would run this command in mysql prompt in the MySQL server.

Bash escaping (MySQL GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES is failing)
The backticks do command substitution (same as $()). Try using single quotes on the outer level and double quotes for your username and hostname: mysql --user=root --password=mypass vsftpd 'GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON `MYUSERNAME\_%`.* TO "MYUSERNAME"@"%";' You can instruct here doc to not expand variables by quoting the delimiter word, but I'm not sure if this works for command substitution too: mysql --user=root --password=mypass vsftpd << 'EOF' GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON `MYUSERNAME\_%`.* TO 'MYUSERNAME'@'%';" EOF

mysql grant remote permissions via non-root user
Well with root SSH access you can restart MySQL and tell it not to check for the root password by running (once MySQL has been stopped) 'sudo /usr/sbin/mysqld --skip-grant-tables --skip-networking &' then you could create a user and grant that user the grant_option.

PDO access denied to external host, but I can access to phpmyadmin cp
Nothing seems wrong with your code except the setAttribute method is setting the error output to raise warnings.. but you're in a try/catch block.. so you may want to consider using PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION. Secondly, check your remote permissions for that username/password. There may be an IP limitation for that user account. You can use the wildcard % for the HOST on user accounts or (suggested) provide the server IP that is connecting TO the database.

I can't access unc path from C#. Getting access is denied
Had this very same problem a while ago. For your debug process to run with full Admin access, you'd have to open Visual Studio with full admin access. In production, have your process "Run As Administrator". If you do not do any of the above, you will have to implement impersonation.

MVC "Access is Denied" using IIS
When creating your MVC application, one option is to create an "Intranet" application. This will turn on "Windows" authentication by default inside Web.config. When publishing such a project to IIS, you need to enable Windows authentication for your application in the IIS Management Console. You may also have to disable Anonymous authentication.

Access is denied when using FileOutputStream
You have to have folders created first. But you can't call file.mkdirs() - you need to call file.getParentFile().mkdirs() - otherwise, you will create a folder with the name of the file (which will then prevent you from creating a file with the same name). I'll also mention that you should check the result code of mkdirs(), just in case it fails. And though you didn't ask for it, I'll still mention that you don't need to call createNewFile() (your FileWriter will create it). and, just for thoroughness, be sure to put your file.close() in a finally block, and throw your exception (don't just print it) - here you go: void writeToFile(String input) throws IOException{ File file = new File("C:\WeatherExports\export.txt"); if (!file.getParentFile().mkdirs())

Try with a more recent version: Set http = CreateObject("Msxml2.XMLHttp.6.0") It could also be an issue with your Internet security settings (see here). Open the Internet Options applet in the Control Panel, select the zone for the website (probably "Trusted sites") in the Security tab and click Custom level…. In the section Miscellaneous set Access data sources across domains to Enabled.

Here is a recommend policy, based on the one from an article on an S3 Personal File Store. mount: nfs access denied by server
Is there a config file on the NAS where to put allowances for clients? E.g. in debian based OS the config file is "/etc/exports" and you would put there "/volume2/Asterisk_Recordings 192.168.1.1(rw,sync)" and activate this with "exportfs -a" (your NAS may do this automatically if you update the config via a web interface, I guess.) Check also Mounting NFS results in access denied by server.
