Multitrack-Audio with Java
I'd recommend looking at Praxis and JAudioLibs. Neil Smith knows his stuff. I've gotten maybe 30-50 wavs playing at once, and my library is certainly not the most efficient. And I wasn't changing volumes or pans for those wav files. If some of those sounds of yours are short enough to be stored in memory (e.g., a bank of sound effects) then you have a bit more chance of success in having so many tracks. I've gotten 100 short clips running at once (using a custom made clip, but again, no volume or panning added except the trigger values). There's a good article on the real-time issues with Java. The issues are real but not insurmountable. Java is pretty low-level and fast, if you stick with the lowest level tools provided by javax.audio.sampled library, and don't mind a bit of latency. h

Recording (or transforming after recording) video at non-standard size in Windows Phone 8
Use the Windows.Phone.Media.Capture APIs and the AudioVideoCaptureDevice class Second parameter for AudioVideoCaptureDevice.OpenAsync - see this link - is the resolution. And you can get the resolutions using AudioVideoCaptureDevice.GetAvailableCaptureResolutions(sensor) EDIT: To set custom resolutions try AudioVideoCaptureDevice.SetCaptureResolutionAsync EDIT 2: You could try something like the following to transform recorded video: (can't find where i got the code from soz to author!) StorageFolder isoStore = await ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder.GetFolderAsync("Shared"); var file = await isoStore.CreateFileAsync("foos1.wmv", CreationCollisionOption.ReplaceExisting); using (var s = await file.OpenAsync(FileAccessMode.ReadWrite)) { Windows.Found

recording timestamps of audio samples while recording using a java applicatin
Actually, recording the start time is the simplest answer. You can always determine the start and stop time of any sound with incredible accuracy (per frame!) by using the frame count. At 44100 frames per second, if your analysis shows that pitch A starts at frame 22050 and ends 33075 for example, then you know that the sound went from exactly (start + 500) milliseconds to (start + 750) milliseconds. It's just a simple multiply operation. Are you using some sort of Fast Fourier analysis to get the pitches? It is possible to tie event-notification to Lines. Check out LineEvent and LineListener, in javax.sound.sampled api. By the way, using frame count is possibly more accurate than time-stamping, due to vagaries introduced by JVM time-slicing. Java gives continuous/accurate playback of s

How to do GPU programming on Macbook Air?
By GPU Programming I am assuming you mean high performance parallel calculations on the GPU without graphics (since you mention OpenCL and CUDA). If so this link may be helpful: https://anteru.net/2012/11/03/2009/. And that card definitely can't use CUDA.

Run terminal inside vim on a macbook?
Why don't you do things the other way around? You can use a terminal multiplexer such as Tmux and split a terminal window into two panes using C-b %. Inside the second pane you can run macvim inside a terminal with $ mvim -v You can navigate between the two panes with C-b o, (And do much more, but I'll leave it up to you to discover!) Doing things this way around is much more sane in my opinion, you get the full power of both the terminal and vim without having to hack around with Vim too much (Plus Tmux is very handy for many other uses). I hope doing things this way around is appealing enough for you!

Macbook Pro 15", backspace not working with VIM?
Most likely you are running vim in compatible mode. Create a file called ~/.vimrc and put the following lines in it. set nocompatible set backspace=indent, eol, start Setting the backspace option should change the backspace key to behave how you expect it to. However these should be set by the system vimrc on mac.

How to detect how similar a speech recording is to another speech recording?
You have to look into speech recognition algorithms. I understand that you don't need to translate speech to text (that is done by speech recognition algorithms), however, in your case many algorithms would be the same. Probably, HMM would be helpful here (hidden markov models). Also look into here: http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/

OpenCV- Webcam frame not working on macbook in Java
it's been a while since this question was asked, but since I had essentially the same problem, I will post a solution (found here) (it's a rather simple fix actually for a stupid problem): The camera needs time to initialize (not sure what the gory hardware details are, but there you go). To fix it I simply added Thread.sleep(1000), and it started working. A slightly better fix may be to wrap this in a loop which retries every 1000ms or so until the returned Mat is not empty. Hope someone benefits from this :-) EDIT: I should have read your code first. Silly me, apologies. The problem seemed very similar to mine, so I assumed it was the same.

How to produce kernel panic with power button on MacBook Pro
You don't specify which "MacBook Pro" model you're using. A built-in ethernet port isn't the only way to do two machine debugging anymore. You need to reboot after changing nvram, e.g. sudo nvram boot-args="debug=0x144 -v" sudo reboot Also, see the video and PDF from WWDC 2013 "What's New in Kext Development"

I dunno about "graceful" but Carbon Copy Cloner is definitely an easy solution for rolling back to a previous state. You can make an exact clone of your drive, then restore it back if something goes horribly wrong. I use CCC to make periodic backups of my Macs, as a sort of secondary backup to time-machine, which is easy to use but which I don't have total confidence in.

DataModelling or ER model building software for MacBook and MYSQL
You won't get automatic updates (I understand automatic updates as something that happens in the background without any action from you). MySQL Workbench however has a two-way sync that you can use to update your models at the same time you update your schema (from the model). You can select to do only one direction, but you have to trigger synchronization yourself.

Displaying Java BufferedImage on MacBook with Retina display does not work
It looks like the host peer component is expecting to render an image with one color model but encountering another. There are just too many ways for this to go wrong for a definitive answer, but everal things bear closer scrutiny: Verify that your BufferedImage has a compatible color model and space, for example. Consider scaling with AffineTransformOp, outlined here, as it can create a "destination image with the correct size and number of bands." While done() is executed on the event dispatch thread, verify hat the rest of your program is correctly synchronized.

sync xcode proj between imac and macbook -- push fails
For anyone else who stumbles onto this: My question is really answered at Pushing git repository to Xcode. In summary, since iMac is on essentially all the time, and since git (appropriately) abhores pushing to a non-bare repository, the (one) solution to syncing is to set up a bare repository on the imac, and push and pull from this for both working copies.

My Apple MacBook hard drive crashed - provisioning profiles lost, is there a way I can still update my app?
Create a new certificate if needed then create a new set of provisioning profiles. Install the updated profiles and update your apps to use the new profiles. That's it. Not that big of deal other than spending 30 minutes redoing this stuff.

Video recording web app
There's simply no way as of now to do video recording through mobile browser. Potential solution is Direct mobile browser user to appstore/google play and encourage to download a dedicated app (downside - you have to write it ;) Allow for file upload from mobile device (user uploads prerecorded video). File uploads are supported from IOS6 only. Not sure about Android. Use flash where possible (a challenge in itself). Hint: would I accept such requirement as a contractor/agency etc? Nooo! Never ;)

Recording Video from USB Cam with Qt5
I'm having almost the same problem, with capturing an image. I discovered that it is only working with the default resolution 640 x 480. If you set the resolution to a higher value it does not work. I've also tried with 2 different cameras with no success, so it seems to be a qt5 problem. You could try to don't set a resolution, then you should be able to record a video, but only with the default resolution of 640 x 480.

NAudio recording
Maybe I missunderstand you, but the code you posted seems a little bit unstructured. At the moment you start your recording with button3_Click, your WaveWriter is still null. Why dont you create an instance of this writer also in button3_click ? In total I would recommend to sort your object creation and disposing. -> Start method should contain all object creation, as well as adding the event handler with "+=". The stop button handler should contain all closing of the stream, and freeing the ressources.

SBT sources in IDEA
In SBT there are two command which may interest you: update-classifiers - will download all sources and documentation for all libs in your project update-sbt-classifiers - downloads sbt sources and docs This will download all the sources you need. To make an IDEA project with them just call gen-idea sbt-classifiers. If you don't want to call each time this commands for re-generating you project, you should add something like this: addCommandAlias("make-idea", "update-classifiers; update-sbt-classifiers; gen-idea sbt-classifiers").

How to add event sources
Your url parameter needs to return whatever the FullCalendar understands and can parse, so judging by the documentation you will have to make sure that your rentelcars index action returns this particular format: { title : 'event1', start : '2010-01-01' }, { title : 'event2', start : '2010-01-05', end : '2010-01-07' }, { title : 'event3', start : '2010-01-09 12:30:00', allDay : false // will make the time show } } So in your rentalcars_controller.rb in the index definition you will have to make sure that you return this format which looks a lot like JSON to me. So, easiest way would be to have this as your JavaScript: eventSources: [{ url: '/rentalcars.json', color: 'yellow', textColor: '

Android Known Sources
As the comments have already suggested, the word "sources" means "place of origin" (as in, application package repositories), not "source code". This is completely unrelated to the AOSP. Usually, that means "applications downloaded from Google Play" (and the previous Android Market). I say "usually", because you could conceivably define another source in a custom fork - haven't encountered this personally 'though (don't know how that meshes with Samsung's app store).

Max Recording Length for a call
Twilio evangelist here. The maximum length Twilio allows for a recording is 4 hours, as that is the maximum length we allow for a call. This is true when using either the TwiML <Record> verb, or setting the record attribute to true in the REST API. If you use the TwiML verb, you can set a URL in the action parameter and Twilio will request that URL with the recording completed. In that request we will pass you a RecordingURL parameter that points to the recording, however its important to know that it might take some time for us to move the file to that location, so you might have to poll that url a few times. If you set the record parameter using the REST API, we pass the RecordingUrl in the calls StatusCallback parameter. Same caveat as above applies. There may be a delay be

Synchronized recording/playback ios
I found out the delay was always caused by the playback starting too late, but both the recording and the playback were stopped at the same time, so I resolved this by finding v2.duration - v1.duration, and subtract the result from the beginning of v2, using AVAssetExportSession. When playing back both videos at once now, in different layers, there's still some delay from starting both, but by exporting the videos, I've confirmed that they're the same length and in sync now.
