NullReference Exception in date Conversion
That means that somewhere you are accessing a field, property or method on a reference-type variable that is null (or accessing .Value on Nullable<T> struct). We can't tell you where, but ex.StackTrace can, as can adding a break-point and stepping through the code near where it errors, looking at the variables etc for the rogue null (or the correct null with a missing null-check)

Combobox with BeanItemContainer and BeanFieldGroup throw Conversion exception
You let your Vaadin application try to save a Bean (TestCountry) as a String in your TestBean. That's fine, but then you have to approach it a little bit different. You have two options. You either change your datamodel, so the TestBean looks like this: TestBean firstName - String phone - String country - TestCountry (1:n) now the TestBean will have a TestCountry stored instead of a String and your ComboBox shouldnt throw any more errors or you dont fill your ComboBox with Beans, but with Country strings, so the Vaadin application knows the datatype that is selected and what to save in your TestBean. myCombo.addItem(getStringOfCountryYouWantToAdd()) ... then if you bind your String property "country" to the ComboBox which only contains Strings now, the binder will now how and what

Django Error :: Exception Type:IntegrityError Exception Value: column user_id is not unique
Your form processing method creates a User and a matching Vendor. But you also have a post-save signal on User that creates a Vendor for that user. That means you end up trying to create two vendors, whereas a OneToOne field implies a unique relationship of one vendor per user. Either get rid of the signal, or take the Vendor creation code out of the form processing view.

Spring mongodb exception HTTP Status 500 - Filter execution threw an exception
Looks to me like you might have a mismatch between the MongoDB driver version you're developing against and the one on the webserver. MongoClient only came in version 2.11, so my suspicion is that the version of the driver you have in Tomcat is older.

How to Create custom Exception handlers with Enterprise Library Exception Handling block
See Creating a Custom Provider for an example. There is also the Enterprise Library 5.0 - Extensibility Labs which walks through various exception handling scenarios. The above are for Enterprise Library 5 but most of the details still apply for Enterprise Library 6. One exception is that the GetRegistrations override would be replaced with the BuildExceptionHandler override. In terms of the NameValueCollection constructor, that is used with basic design time integration. All XML attributes are passed to the constructor as name value pairs and the class can extract and use those values as appropriate. Enterprise Library 6 now has it's own Hands-On Labs.

cxf webclient - exception [Request processing failed; nested exception is Status : 406
According to the HTTP spec, a 406 response means that the server cannot meet the requirements as set out in the request's ACCEPT headers. However, the server-side log messages seem to be implying that something else is happening. I suggest that you do what the log message suggests. Enable debug logging and see what the fine-grained log messages say about what is going wrong.

Why when downloading images from a website im getting exception: An exception occurred during a WebClient request?
http://vanessawest.tripod.com/bundybowman.jpg Are you sure that's the one causing problem? My guess is that your are getting some unwanted characters in the local file name because of your string split logic to get to the file name. string[] arr = src.Value.Split('/'); imgg = arr[arr.Length - 1]; Instead, try this: imgg = Path.GetFileName(new Uri(src.Value).LocalPath);

Can exception handler get access to globals and locals variables at exception raise?
The stack trace is a linked sequence of frame objects; each frame object has a reference to the globals and locals for that frame. The traceback object has a tb_frame attribute, this is the 'current' frame. The object also has a tb_next attribute, the link to the next traceback object in the stack. Each frame object has f_globals and f_locals attributes, both are dictionaries. The inspect module documentation has a handy overview of the attributes found on traceback and frame objects. You may want to look over the traceback module; it provides a higher-level API to manipulate and display tracebacks.

Getting Exception: FATAL EXCEPTION: GLThread No configs match configSpec
It looks like you are requesting an EGL config that your test device doesn't support. Not all implementations support multisampling, so you would probably want to fall back to a format that's most likely to be supported on any device. Currently your fallback format is RGB565, and my guess is that it's not supported on some of your target devices. You could try RGBA8888 or RGBA4444 instead, so for instance: configSpec = new int[] { EGL10.EGL_RED_SIZE, 8, EGL10.EGL_GREEN_SIZE, 8, EGL10.EGL_BLUE_SIZE, 8, EGL10.EGL_ALPHA_SIZE, 8, EGL10.EGL_DEPTH_SIZE, 16, EGL10.EGL_RENDERABLE_TYPE, 4, /* EGL_OPENGL_ES2_BIT */ EGL10.EGL_NONE }; As far as I know, RGBA8888 with 16-bit depth buffer should be available in most re

Is it possible to catch a runtime exception and throw an application exception instead in the same transaction ? (ejb)
taking a step back here.... why would you want the second bean to persist the same object if the first one already does.. and that too in the same transaction? Maybe you should rethink the original solution before messing with the way container handles this exception? Coming back to your problem, is your Application exception a sub class of RuntimeException by any chance? Also, if you have to do it this way, can you maybe manually commit the transaction at this exception?

Should I throw exception on mutation attempt of immutable class? If so, which exception?
Throwing an exception is usually the way to go, and you should use UnsupportedOperationException. The Java API itself does recommend this in the collections framework: The "destructive" methods contained in this interface, that is, the methods that modify the collection on which they operate, are specified to throw UnsupportedOperationException if this collection does not support the operation. An alternative if you create the full class hierarchy is to create a super class Vector that is not modifiable and has no modifying methods like set(), and two sub-classes ImmutableVector (that guarantees immutability) and MutableVector (that is modifiable). This would be better because you get compile-time safety (you can't even try to modify an ImmutableVector), but depending on the situati

Preserve Xdebug exception handling when using own exception handler
Xdebug adds a property to every thrown Exception, namely xdebug_message, which contains the contents of the table normally displayed by Xdebug. So to visualize an exception with stacktrace as Xdebug, you could do something like the following: try { $result = fetch(); }catch(Exception $e){ echo '<table>' . $e->xdebug_message . '</table>'; } And while searching for the documentation of xdebug_message I stumbled on a possible duplicate question: Methods for an Xdebug Exception class

C# : Is it possible to initialize exception of the same type when some instance of exception is passed in?
First of all, if your want to rethrow an exception, use: throw; and not throw ex; The last statement will overwrite your stack trace, the first statement will preserve it. You can only rethrow an exception inside the catch-block, but not inside anoother method. You could try something like this: try { // Any code } catch(MyException ex) { throw; } catch(Exception ex) { throw Wrap(ex); } Where your Wrap method only wraps the the exceptions that must be wrapped. In essence it becomes this: try { // Any code } catch(MyException ex) { throw; } catch(Exception ex) { throw new MyException("Referenced library exception wrapped", ex); } If this does not work for you (because try-catch blocks get repeated over and over), you also could take a look at AOP which m

Exception raised during rendering: Circular dependencies cannot exist in RelativeLayout Exception details are logged in Window > Show View > Error Log
The problem is caused because there is a circular reference is the layout parameters. For example when view B is layout_below View A, view A can't reference view B anymore in it's below, alignRight etc. This can also exist between multiple views: A references B references C. In that scenario C can't reference A because of a circular dependency. You'll need to evaluate the references again. Does it give you a line number? Edit: When I remove these 2 from android:id="@+id/generate_seviye" it works: android:layout_above="@+id/generatetv1" android:layout_alignRight="@+id/destekimg" But you probable need to do some fixing of the layout and check the references. @+id/view2 has: android:layout_alignBottom="@+id/generatetv1" android:layout_alignTop="@+id/generatetv1" Which seems wrong

How do I catch an exception as described in the C++ standard, 17.6.4.10 [res.on.exception.handling]?
I think what they mean is that they will (indirectly) throw std::bad_alloc. You may not actually want to try to catch that though, as a program which has run out of memory may not be able to continue in any case. Up to you though--I read this same documentation just the other day and that's the conclusion I came to.

How do I find the exception type of an exception that gets thrown in C#?
This: System.Exception: Timeout shows that they're just throwing a bare System.Exception, e.g. if (weHaveNoApiDesignSkills) { throw new Exception("Timeout"); } It's possible that there are some exceptions which are better designed, but the one you've shown isn't promising :( Unfortunately unless you start using the message in the exception to differentiate between them (which is almost always a bad idea) you're stuck. It may be worth asking the authors of the library to see if they can improve matters for a future release.

Exception Conditions: Incorrect Exception thrown
if (k < x || a.length == 0 || a == null) This needs to be the other way around, because it is evaluated left-to-right, and the null check needs to guard the length check. As it is, a.length produces a null pointer exception. if (k < x || a == null || a.length == 0) With this sequence, evaluation will not go all the way to the right (that is what the short-circuiting operator || does).

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception'
This is expected behavior for an uncaught exception with display_errors off. Your options here are to turn on display_errors via php or in the ini file or catch and output the exception. ini_set("display_errors", 1); or try{ // code that may throw an exception } catch(Exception $e){ echo $e->getMessage(); } If you are throwing exceptions, the intention is that somewhere further down the line something will catch and deal with it. If not it is a server error (500). Another option for you would be to use set_exception_handler to set a default error handler for your script. function default_exception_handler(Exception $e){ // show something to the user letting them know we fell down echo "<h2>Something Bad Happened</h2>";

When using setParameter with a node-set, it raises exception "Invalid conversion from java.lang.String to node-set"
This is an old question, though I think it still deserves an answer. The default implementation of the JDK uses Xalan-J. Back in 2005, an issue was raised in Jira against Xalan 2.7 for asking to support passing nodes or document objects. In the passed 10 years, this issue has not yet been resolved, even though the comments suggest that it is "easy enough to do". The above issue suggests, however, that it is possible to pass a DOM Tree. In fact, the following appears to work: String doc = "<root>Hello world!</root>"; transformer.setParameter("mydoc", new StreamSource(new StringReader(doc))); If for some reason you cannot switch to a more capable XSLT processor, like Saxon, you may also consider another relative easy workaround, I quote: One workaround would be to use th

First, set customErrors = "Off" in the web.config and redeploy to get a more detailed error message that will help us diagnose the problem. You could also RDP into the instance and browse to the site from IIS locally to view the errors. <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off" /> First guess though - you have some references (most likely Azure SDK references) that are not set to Copy Local = true. So, all your dependencies are not getting deployed. Get to the detailed error first and update your question. UPDATE: A second option now available in VS2013 is Remote Debugging a Cloud Service or Virtual Machine.

Throwing an exception while handling an exception
That's a bit misleading; it's fine to throw from an exception handler (which is what I'd understand by "while handling an exception"), as long as there's another handler to catch it. The problem is if you throw an exception from the destructor of an object that's being destroyed during stack unwinding. In that case, there are two unhandled exceptions, and the usual exception mechanism can only deal with one; so the response is to call terminate. Example: struct dodgy {~dodgy() {throw "Don't do this!";}}; try { dodgy d; throw 1; } catch (...) { // Never reached: destroying `d` killed the program. }
