form.setScrollable(false); form.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); form.addComponent(BorderLayout.CENTER, tabs); Now when adding a component as a tab make sure it is scrollable.

jQuery UI not working in tabs
Your tabs must be getting created but there is no jquery ui stylesheet loaded in your html which is required to give the appearance to the tabs. You can download the css with themes from jquery ui website Here is a CDN location for lightness theme. Here you go a Demo Fiddle with your html markup and css applied to it. <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.10.3/themes/ui-lightness/jquery-ui.css" type="text/css"/> Here is a SO answer that mentions about jquery UI CDN path for all themes.

jquery tabs selected is not working
selected is not a valid attribute for the jQuery UI tabs widget. You need to use active. http://api.jqueryui.com/tabs/ The reason this code doesn't work is because you initialize the tabs widget twice: $(function() { $( "#tabs" ).tabs(); //initialize tabs without specifying selected. $( "#tabs" ).tabs({ selected: 2 }); //doesn't work }); Either do this: $(function() { $( "#tabs" ).tabs({ active: 2 }); }); or this: $(function() { $( "#tabs" ).tabs(); $( "#tabs" ).tabs( "option", "active", 2 ); });

Multiple tabs not working with Jquery
You are missing dot in front of class active var currentclass = $('.active').attr('class'); Also, if you do alert(currentclass) it will show you that it says something like "content2 active". Probably not what you expect. You could go with data-name="content2". And then you select with: var currentname = $('.tab-button .active').data('name'); $('.content-canvas [data-name="'+currentname+'"]').show().siblings().hide();

Jquery Tabs not working within the cycle for
I notice a problem with the generated HTML: echo "<a href="#tabs-".$i> $name </a>"; echo "</li>"; echo "</ul>"; echo "<div id="tabs-".$i> Would result in the following HTML: <a href="tabs-"1>Name</a> </li> </ul> <div id="tabs-"1>... Notice how the id's are "tabs-"[Number] as opposed to "tabs-[Number]". Same problem with the href. This might be it or at least part of it. Edit: Also looking over your code you're printing the start of the tabs multiple times. You'll probably want to format the code a little different such as: //Collect all the data. $data = []; for($i=0;$i<$num_panels;$i++) { $data[]=pg_fetch_row($result0); } // Print the tab buttons echo "<div id="tabs" width="590px">"; echo "<ul>"; for(

jQuery Multi Tabs Script Not Working
The problem is that currentclass is being set to something like "content2 active" instead of "content2". You can try using something like this: var currentclass = $(this).attr('class'); $(this).addClass('active'); See: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/qbAdG This is why having a debugger is helpful. You can use a debugger to trace through the code and check the values of variables and the execution path to verify that everything is behaving as it should.

OnClick function using jquery tabs in asp.net
I'm assuming you're using ASP.NET C# because of your tags and syntax. I can suggest these options: use Razor view, or use the JavaScript/jQuery you're already using. If you prefer to use the Razor View, take a look at the references in this question and use the @ symbol to call server functions. In this case, @ChangeMode is what you're looking for. Since you're using jQuery already I suggest you write a JavaScript function using jQuery .click(). Since the JavaScript and jQuery are both able to call the server, you will be able to access your server-side function ChangeMode. $('#tabs-2').click(function(){ //Make call to server here. You can use [Ajax][4], //or see the link below concerning ASP.NET C# }); link, see this fiddle Ajax calls: I've found the jQuery .ajax()

jquery css function doesn't work for detecting element shown/hidden
I think the main problem here is that the code is not waiting for the animation to complete when checking the state so it is actually still visible when it runs. If you check the state after the animation is completed (in the callback function) it correctly returns none: $("body").click(function(){ $("ul").toggle("slow", function() { var b = $("ul").css("display"); console.log("ul display :"+b); // This will return none }); var b = $("ul").css("display"); console.log("ul display :"+b); // This will return block }); This example will display block immediately then none after hiding the element - http://jsfiddle.net/Vw9nA/ But as stated in the comments and the other linked question, the best way to check visibility is $('ul').is(':visible')

Error trying to get jquery-ui tabs working on a div inside of leaflet map
Trigger the tab initialization $( ".detail-popup-info" ).tabs(); inside of the same event handler that triggers the pop-up window. Doing it on load() means it checks ONCE, after the page's resources have been fully loaded, and if .detail-popup-info doesn't exist yet (because it's added after the fact by AJAX or whatever when the user performs whatever action opens the popup window) then it has nothing to initialize. Instead you want it to check after the popup content has been added to the DOM. For example if the popup is created by clicking on a button it might look something like this: $('a.popup-button').on('click', function() { // ajax call or whatever that inserts the pop-up content $( ".detail-popup-info" ).tabs(); }); If you're creating the popups with a prepackaged

Need to add toggle effect to this: jQuery("ul.tabs-nav").tabs("> .pane");
I'm a bit of a beginner too, but I recently found how to do this. jquery-ui tabs callback not triggered when tabs are first initialized
It is because the first tab is not selected, it is activated as part of the widget initialization, which does not trigger the select event. How can I identify the current fragment of my activity while using tabs and fragment container?
Add a tag while creating tabs. ActionBar.Tab BasicInfoTab = actionbar.newTab().setText(R.string.tab_BaseInfo); BasicInfoTab.setTag("tab1"); And in the listener class, retrieve the tag upon event. @Override public void onTabSelected(Tab tab, FragmentTransaction ft) { String tabId = tab.getTag().toString(); } This way you get the current tag. To identify the current fragment, you can keep a stack of fragments and pick the right one on tab change. Edit The tabId, aforementioned, identifies which tab is which. In order to set a fragment id/tag, there are many ways depending on your needs. One method is to replace your actual fragment layout with an intermediate layout. For instance, A be the fragment you want to add to fragment container. Create another fragment class called Inte

jQuery's get() function not working
This is probably a Same Origin Problem (SOP) problem. Firefox may show a 200, while still actually failing to get the content due to SOP. Since (you claim) you are on the same domain, just omit the protocol and domain name and just write $.get("cgi-bin/CPU.cgi" and see if it works with that. Also add a console.log to your success function to see if it really is executed.

The issue is that your myFunctionDelete function is not accessible globally, as it's defined within the ready event for the document. You'll need to move the function out of the event handler. In other words, change: $(document).ready(function() { function myFunctionDelete() { alert("Delete Clicked."); } } To: $(document).ready(function() { // Any code that should be run when the DOM is ready }); // This is now a global function function myFunctionDelete() { alert("Delete Clicked."); }
