Hotmail/Outlook.com connection failure on AUTH commands
Well, I also got it working here too. I had to replace the ssl_ctx=SSL_CTX_new(SSLv23_client_method()); with either: ssl_ctx=SSL_CTX_new(SSLv3_client_method()); or ssl_ctx=SSL_CTX_new(TLSv1_client_method()); My understanding is that the 23_client method sends a SSL2 client hello first and this confuses the server. I read this in the HP SSL programming tutorial: http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/83final/ba554_90007/ch04s03.html it says: "However, the SSL client using the SSLv23 method cannot establish connection with the SSL server with the SSLv3/TLSv1 method because SSLv2 hello message is sent by the client." SSL3 works too since you can continue after STARTTLS with SSL, you do not have to use TLS. See here: https://www.fastmail.fm/help/technology_ssl_vs_tls_starttls.html

Valign not working in Outlook HTML Emails
Valign always worked for me, but I think for it to work in Outlook 2007 you have to set the height of your <td>. This always worked for me: <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" border="0" align="right"> <tr> <td align="center" valign="middle" bgcolor="#b2382a" height="35"> <span style="color:#FFFFFF; font-family: 'Lucida Grande', Arial, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-transform:uppercase;"> Link Text Here </span> </td> </tr> </table>

border width discrepancy for Outlook HTML emails
I may have an alternate solution if you're willing to let go of using border. In my experience, border is unreliable, so I usually use a transparent spacer gif in a td, like this: <tr> <td bgcolor="#f3f2ef"> <img src="http://www.yourdomain.com/images/spacer.gif" style="display:block;" width="1" height="20" alt=""> </td> </tr> Make this as the last row in your table and you should be set.

You can not currently insert items in to the ribbon or create views and filters using office apps based on the API surface that is currently available. The documentation at http://dev.office.com lists some samples for what you can do and the API space for mail apps specifically is available here. That link also discusses contextual activation and a lot of info on what mail apps can do.

Distributing media query emails through Exchange without Outlook 2007
Depends on how good you care in code and whether you'll need clients to access your system. You can go with user friendly, feature packed options like Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor. Much cheaper but less featured (relies heavily on you integrating through their api) is Sendgrid If you want to stick to free, PHPList might be a good option.

Console App to search outlook inbox with subject line filter skipping emails
If anyone happens to stumble across this I discovered a solution. I just added each email to a list first before performing any actions on them. I'm not sure why this step was necessary, maybe something to do with not being able to properly enumerate active inbox mail items. List<MailItem> ReceivedEmail = new List<MailItem>(); foreach (Outlook.MailItem mail in emailFolder.Items) { ReceivedEmail.Add(mail); } foreach (MailItem mail in ReceivedEmail) { //do stuff }

You could try to avoid the use of outlook.ost at all. Turn off cached mode (for Exchange) or turn off any Send/Receive settings for folders. Close Outlook and rename outlook.ost to .old. Open Outlook and check too see if outlook.ost is not created again.

MySQLi gives no result after inserting emails from text file and then checking them back
Your code cannot work. mysqli_query returns a mysqli_result object. You can use mysqli_fetch_array to get the data: $query = "SELECT email FROM $table WHERE email='email'"; $result = mysqli_query($connection, $query) or trigger_error(mysqli_connect_error(), E_USER_ERROR); $row = mysqli_fetch_array($result); $email = $row['email']; echo $email.'<br >'; By the way: PHP will tell you "undefined variable $row" when you change your error-reporting settings.

spring transactional junit tests not rolling back on linux
ok, so here's what was happening. on my windows box, i was using MySQL v5.6.11. on my linux box, i was using MySQL v5.1.69. according to this link, http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/innodb-default-se.html, innodb is the default storage engine starting with v5.5, and prior to v5.5, myisam was the default storage engine. according to this link, http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/myisam-storage-engine.html, it reinforces that myisam is the default storage engine in v5.1. so, on my linux box, i was on v5.1.69, and the default storage was myisam, thus, spring's automagic rollback mechanism never worked.

Cannot send mails to hotmail on win 8.1
This is presumably a problem with Windows 8.1 (preview). Several users have already reported this issue on the MSDN forum and TechNet forum. If you're developing an ASP.NET application, this is probably not a problem, since you'll be running your production build on environment that are yet to be on 8.1. An alternative solution is to switch to a different SMTP service, some users has report that Gmail's SMTP is working fine with 8.1 preview.

How to receive emails from emails from other servers?
If the code is working for one of the domains but not the other two, I'd guess that the propagation hasn't completed yet (if you have indeed changed to MX records). Remember not all the TTL's have the same time, therefore you might need to wait a little longer for the other two domains to propagate. What I would first of all do is check exactly where those domains point to. try this tool to find out where the domain is currently pointing to: http://mxtoolbox.com/

hotmail login error in java (IDE: Netbeans)
This article would explain why apparently you can log in into your hotmail account after log in into gmail or yahoo. Actually you're logging in into the same account you just did at first try. The thing is you're using Session#getDefaultInstance() instead Session#getInstance(): The Session.getDefaultInstance method creates a new Session the first time it's called, using the Properties that are passed. Subsequent calls will return that original Session and ignore any Properties you pass in. If you want to create different Sessions with different properties, Session.getDefaultInstance won't do that. [...] Always use Session.getInstance to avoid this problem. However it doesn't explain why you can't log in into your hotmail account but you should post the exception stack trace

Hotmail SSL3 version number error using smtp
I can duplicate your problem with Debian Wheezy with Python 2.7.3 which uses the exact same OpenSSL version you report. I captured packets with Wireshark and there is a successful TLS handshake and some data is exchanged. Shortly after that however, the client end gets unhappy with something the server sends and closes the connection. I was able to work around the issue by using SSL3 instead of TLS. I couldn't figure out how to patch a library method in Python so that other libraries that used it would behave differently, so I just made my own local copy of smtplib. I copied the 2.7 version of smtplib (click on the raw link to download) and changed one line: self.sock = ssl.wrap_socket(self.sock, keyfile, certfile) to self.sock = ssl.wrap_socket(self.sock, keyfile,

Outlook add-in using redemption in 32 and 64 bit Outlook version
The correct dll will be loaded by the COM system, not your code. As long as both versions are correctly installed and registered in the registry, your code will work without any modifications. Note however that you will not be able to install the 64 bit version of the dll on a 32 bit machine. You might want to look into using RedemptionLoader - you will skip COM registration completely, and RedemptionLoader will load the right dll for you based on the process bitness.

Session timeout during connecting Hotmail account with Java mail API
Are you leaving the connection open for long periods of time without doing anything? Are you opening and closing the connection frequently over short periods of time? Servers have lots of ways of preventing you from "abusing" their resources. You may be running into one of them. Or, maybe you have an unreliable network connection? See the JavaMail FAQ for debugging tips; the debug output might provide more clues as to why it's failing. Also see the list of common mistakes; you can simplify your code.

XUL: Accessing Hotmail Message sender field. Modify its appearance
You have a couple of questions in there. The best place to reference when developing an addon is MDN. You may also find help here on Stackoverflow's previous answers, and probably the best way to learn is to find an addon that does something similar to what you are doing, see the source code and see how they did it. For reading/writing to a file, you can check this question on that matter. Having that, you have to make sure you are on the desired page. You can get the current tab url with: gBrowser.currentURI.spec Then you see if the element that you are trying to style is on the page (meaning you are on the message window), and then you style it they way you want. Hope this gives you some idea, but to get better and faster answers for next time, try to isolate a problem and ask a s

How to open outlook mail (.oft) format in outlook template when used in in jsp?

For AngularJS web app: webpages don't remember their last scroll positions when navigating back to them with the back button. Why? How to fix?
If you want to fix it, I can think of an idea of keeping the track of every route scroll position in a map (in service or on a rootScope) - when you are leaving the page ($routeChangeStart listener) just save the scroll position together with route path. And when coming to any page, you can check if a record in a map exists for the route path and scroll window to desired position on $routeChangeSuccess event

How do I jump back in history directly, I don't want the go() function to call back() multiple times
I created my own function which I call when I need the behaviour as described above. It requires my own application layer implementation to be able to ignore routing callbacks for all but one of the abs(qty) history movements. goDirect = function (qty) { if (qty === -1 || qty === 1) { router.go(qty); return; } ignoreNavigations = Math.abs(qty) - 1; router.go(qty); }; The following code is used as the first line of route handlers: if (ignoreNavigations-- > 0) return; I did try simply setting a RouteEnabled flag to false when calling go(abs(qty)-1), before setting the flag back to true and calling a final go(-1), however it appears that response to the navigations occur asynchronously, and therefore I changed the implementation to the above code, rat

Several Tabs clicked (URL changed with hashes) then Browser-Back-Button one site Back?
Without specific HTML or javascript from your use case, it is hard to narrow in on the best approach. That said, there are really three important tools in your toolkit when dealing with history state and hashes. Preventing the change You can also avoid the whole problem by using event.preventDefault(); (docs) in the handler code for your tabs, something like this: $('.tab').on('click', function (e) { e.preventDefault(); ... }); When the user clicks the tab, you immediately call preventDefault -- this will stop the default action from continuing. In this case, you're preventing the default behavior of a link (presumably) changing the URL of the document. The ... indicates your existing code for handling the tab click action. All told (and again without seeing your use case), thi

Linux users', specifically Apache, permissions settings, [Linux noob :]
usually any daemon will need to access a number of ressources. it is therefore good practice to run each daemon under a special user:group, rather than nobody:nogroup. traditionally (e.g. on Debian systems) apache runs as www-data:www-data. finally, user permissions take precedence over group permissions (which in turn take precedence over other permissions). this means that a directory where the user does not have write perms but the user's group can write is effectively r/o for that user (but not for other members of the group)

Exec(Linux). How it functions internally? Linux executable attributes(rlimit)
The RLIMIT_CORE is used to place a limit on the amount of info that coredump is allowed to produce, before it is aborted. Once this limit is hit, no more info is logged and the message Aborting Core is logged to the console. From the man page of core : A process can set its soft RLIMIT_CORE resource limit to place an upper limit on the size of the core dump file that will be produced if it receives a "core dump" signal. Use setrlimit() to configure RLIMIT_CORE to a larger value to obtain complete coredumps. The most common format of executables/shared-objects is ELF. On Linux, the dynamic loading and linking of these shared-objects is performed by ld.so ld.so is loaded in the address space of a newly created process (by exec in this case) and executed first.
