Is there a way to include html file or snippet directly in jade?
You should be able to simply include it within a jade template: As mentioned include can be used to include other content such as html or css. By providing an extension, Jade will read that file in, apply any filter matching the file's extension, and insert that content into the output. html // ... body // ... //- html files have no filter and are included verbatim include content.html

trying to render html files using jade but it still adresses it as a jade
With this line: app.engine('.html', require('jade').__express); You told express to render templates ending with .html using jade. With this one: app.set('view engine', 'html'); you told express that it should interpret template names without extension as ones ending with html. So my guess is that you're trying to render 'index', express interprets it as index.html and then passes to jade as it was instructed to do. It's better to map jade to it's own extentension (.jade is an obvious candidate). And render your index.html using it's full name. Add consolidate.js to your project: var engines = require('consolidate'); Tell jade to render stuff ending with .jade. app.engine('jade', require('jade').__express); Register simple html renderer for stuff ending with .html: app.eng

Is there any way to use simple html instead of jade?
Yep, it is possible: var serverHTML = function(res) { res.writeHead(200, {'Content-Type': 'text/html'}); var body = '<html>' + '<head>' + '<title>Page</title>' + '</head>' + '<body >' + '<center><h1>Hello World</h1></center>' + '</body>' + '</html>'; res.end(body + ' '); } var http = require('http'); http.createServer(function (req, res) { serverHTML(res); }).listen(1337, '127.0.0.1'); console.log('Server running at 127.0.0.1:1337/'); However, using of template language brings a lot of benefits, like putting the templates in different files adding content using nested templates If you use pure html you should deal with this by yourself. How to turn a jade page into html?
That is already what you have. From the express docs on res.render When a callback is provided both the possible error and rendered string are passed, and no automated response is performed. So res.render(viewName, locals) does BOTH rendering of the HTML and sending that HTML as the HTTP response body. However res.render(viewName, locals, callback) with 3 arguments just renders the HTML and passes it to the callback without sending any HTTP response. Thus you can do whatever is needed with the HTML and then send a response later. There is also app.render which is another general utility to render stuff without having anything to do with a particular http request/response.

Can express mix html and jade routes?
Express is pretty template-agnostic, in that you can choose any templating engine you like. If you want more HTML-style templates, you could use ejs instead of Jade, for instance: // install ejs first npm install ejs // app.js var express = require('express'); var app = express(); app.engine('html', require('ejs').renderFile); app.set('view engine', 'html'); app.get('/', function(req, res) { res.render('index', { name : 'World' }); }); app.listen(3012); // ./views/index.html <h1>Hello <%= name %>!</h1> // Output: <h1>Hello World!</h1>

Jade HTML attribute called "attribute"
I don't know if this helps in your particular situation, but note that you can use an object property called publish in your prototype in place of the attributes attribute on the <polymer-element>. E.g. <polymer-element attributes='foo bar'...>... is equivalent to <polymer-element...>... <script> Polymer(..., { publish: { foo: null, bar: null } } That way you should be able, at least, to write your own elements without bumping into Jade syntax.

including urls requires extra permissions - you are trusting the author of that remote website not to put nasty php code in... the setting you are looking for is allow_url_include, and it is 0 (off) by default. If the file is local, you should make the include refer to the local file, not the url.

Include HTML nodes in
Firstly, let's be clear that you are not including "nodes" in your attributes; what you want is to serialize an attribute that contains XML markup. We're talking at the lexical level, not the tree level, and nodes exist only at the tree level. To generate this output, there are two challenges. Firstly, you need to construct a string containing the lexical XML, and then pass this string as the value of the attribute. Secondly, you need to prevent special characters in this string being escaped. For the first problem, there are two approaches: you can invoke an external serialize() function that converts a tree to lexical XML as a string, such as saxon:serialize() if you are using Saxon, or you can write your own (which isn't difficult for simple cases, and it has already been done - David

PHP INCLUDE function inside an HTML file
Q: Did you give the page a .php suffix? That should be all you need to do. Remember the way PHP works - you basically "embed" your PHP code in an HTML page, and the server executes the PHP before it serves (the rest of) the HTML. But in order for PHP to "see" your code, you need to make sure your "HTML page" has a .php suffix. As a crude workaround, you can add ".html" to the list of file suffixes that PHP will parse. But this could cause other things to break. If you want to embed PHP code in your "index.html", the best, cleanest approach is to simply rename it "index.php". IMHO...

From: link The next example is the opposite: "Only show this content if the browser is NOT Internet Explorer". <![if !IE]> Place content here to target all users not using Internet Explorer. <![endif]> Conditional comments are only recognized by Internet Explorer — other browsers treat them as normal comments and ignore them. Note that in the second example above (the one that targets "other" browsers), the content is not actually inside a comment — that's why other browsers display it. So I think that you can not combine two different types of conditional comments

I think you're looking for ngBindHtmlUnsafe: Creates a binding that will innerHTML the result of evaluating the expression into the current element. The innerHTML-ed content will not be sanitized! You should use this directive only if ngBindHtml directive is too restrictive and when you absolutely trust the source of the content you are binding to. See $sanitize docs for examples.

What's the quickest way to truncate paragraph text that may or may not include HTML elements?
One possibility for this kind of situation is to temporarily convert the data being truncated to text. Send the HTML to a throwaway element and then extract the text: var title = $('<div>').html(text).text(); This <a href="">is</a> some text with a link becomes This is some text with a link, which can then be truncated safely. If you need to expand that to the original text again, just keep a copy with the HTML still in it. Here is an example: http://jsfiddle.net/B2AZA/
