Try to select but leave blank if fail
Using the data you provided a left Join will work. Using these two tables: |Tickets | +--+--------+----------+------+ |ID|Name |Date |Cat_id| +--+--------+----------+------+ |1 |Ticket 1|2013-07-13|1 | +--+--------+----------+------+ |2 |Ticket 2|2013-06-13|2 | +--+--------+----------+------+ |3 |Ticket 3|2013-06-25|4 | +--+--------+----------+------+ |Category | +--+--------+ |ID|Name | +--+--------+ |1 |sample 1| +--+--------+ |2 |sample 2| +--+--------+ |3 |sample 3| +--+--------+ Using this query gives what you are looking for: SELECT t.id, t.name ,t.date, c.name FROM `stack overflow`.tickets as t Left Join category as c on c.id = t.cat_id T

Cast string to date and change year 0001 to 1900
You can use the DateTime.Add() method in conjunction with the DateTime.TimeOfDay property. If this were a regular SQL datetime you could use the SqlDateTime.MinValue helper, and add your DateTime to it. SqlDateTime.MinValue.Value.Add(Convert.ToDateTime("0001-01-01T12:30:00").TimeOfDay) For the smalldatetime you can create your own. new DateTime(1900, 1, 1).Add(Convert.ToDateTime("0001-01-01T12:30:00").TimeOfDay)

Why MongoDB shell new ISODate(0001-01-01) returns date 1901-01-01
Internally, new ISODate really means: Date.UTC(year, month, date, hour, min, sec, ms); IE, MongoDB splits up the string into elements with a regular expression (Line 60 at https://github.com/mongodb/mongo/blob/master/src/mongo/shell/types.js#L56) The JavaScript Date object has a few different initialisers (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Date#Syntax). If you use: new Date("0001-01-01T:00:00:00"); Then the four digit year 0001 is not parsed or interpreted, but when you use it like MongoDB does: Date.UTC( parseInt("0001") ) Then special rules apply for the years 00-99 apply. The docs at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Date#Date_instances slightly hint at this. There is a MongoDB serve

DateTime object or date functions php
there are lots of advantage to use datetime class instead of date function in latest PHP version and some of them are below. => If it makes sense to use DateTime class in order to perform certain date calculations, then use it. It's not expensive to the point where your app will feel it, unless you do something crazy such as creating 1 million DateTime objects. => DateTime is great is because it alleviates the worry of daylight savings by specifying the time zone when creating the object. It's also easy to obtain differences between dates or obtain intervals between different objects. It basically cuts down the amount of worry and coding required (but I will admit it is wrong sometimes, hopefully it'll get addressed in 5.4 release of PHP).

How can I query a date from a datetime object in SQLite?
You must not surround the date function with single quotes, which are string delimiters. What you have in the SQL statement is the string date(, the numbers 2013, 07, and 08, which are subtracted from each other, and the string ). The function date converts the string 2013-07-08 into the string 2013-07-08. Comparing that to the string 2013-07-08 09:08:51 will fail. You want to strip the time from the string that has the time fields: SELECT * FROM geninfo WHERE DeviceTag = ? AND date(timestamp) = '2013-07-08'

Can a datetime.date object without the day be created in python?
Unfortunately, you can't pass 0 because there is no month 0 so you'll get ValueError: month must be in 1..12, you cannot skip the month or the day as both are required. If you do not know the exact year or month, just pass in 1 for the month and day and then keep only the year part. >>> d = datetime.date(year=1940, month=1, day=1) >>> d datetime.date(1940, 1, 1) >>> d.year 1940 >>> d = datetime.date(year=1940, month=1, day=1).year >>> d 1940 The second statement is a shorthand for the first. However, if you want to just store the year, you don't need a datetime object. You can store the integer value separately. A date object implies month and day.

How to use DateTimePicker control for datetime field in Orchard editor (without adding datetimefieldpart)?
It is not necessary or even possible to add all datetime properties as parts: only one part of a given type can exist on a type. You could do it through fields however. What you need to do in order to reproduce the UI of the date field in your own part is to reproduce the template and script that they use, in your own part templates.

See this post for a few other options. edit To reflect the comments and what you ended up doing: Instead of evaluating to "" enter another value such as 'deleteme' and then search for 'deleteme' instead of blanks. =IF(ISBLANK(C1),TRUE,(TRIM(C1)="deleteme"))

How should look link the json response so that ActiveResource may generate a DateTime object from a date?
JSON will always be a string as this is how it passes data as stringyfied objects. If you want to convert it to a date/time object you will need to parse it at the server side. Time.parse should do the trick http://ruby-doc.org/stdlib-2.0/libdoc/time/rdoc/Time.html#method-c-parse

Facebook OpenGraph DateTime attribute with only date being parsed as DateTime
Can I force Facebook to parse it as a date? That’s what its seems to be doing right now, but it does not seem to be what you want. I think what Facebook docs call the Precise-time format might be what you should rather use: Precise-time (e.g., '2012-07-04T19:00:00-0700'): events that start at a particular point in time, in a specific offset from UTC. This is the way new Facebook events keep track of time, and allows users to view events in different timezones. Which formats you can use to specify the OG DateTime type you can see here, https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/property-types/#simple
