Form Submit Button Moves When Pressed
The problem is that the .button is positioned absolutely in the non-hover state. On the button:hover, the positioned is changed to relative, which completely changes its position. The quick fix is to remove the following: .button:active { position:relative; top:1px; } ps It took longer to write this up and than to solve the problem...

Custom validation after submit button is pressed
If these validations should always be enforce, and by that I mean whenever you attempt to save a App it must have at least 4 questions then you would add like so: class App < ActiveRecord::Base validate :minimum_number_of_questions_required private def minimum_number_of_questions_required if questions.count < 4 errors[:base] << "You must have at least 4 questions attached." end end end If you only wanted it to occur when that form was submitted you could set a variable in the App class that lets the object know that it should actually run the minimum question validation: class App < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessor :validate_questions validate :minimum_number_of_questions_required, if: :validate_questions # same code as above for validatio

My php/html submit button does not register being pressed
I think you mixed up the button's type attribute, ie it's not button but submit So, I guess you have a normal text input field, but your CSS cheating your eyes. Try writing into it :) To submit forms via buttons you can use: <input type="submit" name="reg" value="Register!"/> <button name="reg" value="1-or-anything">Register!</button> edit: and as for a possible different way of coding (getting all the validation errors at once): $error_list = array(); if ($condition1) $error_list[] = 'My Error message 1'; if ($condition2) $error_list[] = 'My Error message 2'; if ($condition3) $error_list[] = 'My Error message 3'; ... if (empty($error_list)) the_fun_part(); else { foreach($error_list as $msg) echo "{$msg}<br/>"; }

knockout.js and submit binding doing different functionality depending on what button was pressed in the form
Check this fiddle - http://jsfiddle.net/hyHmD/ Basically, this would be using the click binding instead of the submit binding. It would just have your second button call the first in the view model and then re-call the add person object. self.addPerson = function () { self.newModel(new personModel("")); self.isAddingNew(true); }; self.save = function (person) { self.persons.push(person); self.isAddingNew(false); }; self.saveAndAdd = function (person) { self.save(person); self.addPerson(); }; If you were dead set on using the submit binding just pass along an additional parameter <button data-bind="submit: function(data, event) { save(false, data, event) }"> Submit </button> <button data-b

Get time from pressed button (hold pressed)
Look at UIControlEventTouchDown, UIControlEventTouchUpInside here: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/uikit/reference/UIControl_Class/Reference/Reference.html Then I suppose you want to store an NSDate of when you pressed down in some sort of ivar or property (UIControlEventTouchDown) and another one when you release the button (UIControlEventTouchUpInside or UIControlEventTouchUpOutside) and then call -timeIntervalSinceDate: on that date. So it would look roughly like this: - (IBAction)pressedDown:(id)sender { self.pressedDownDate = [NSDate date]; } - (IBAction)touchedUp:(id)sender { NSDate *now = [NSDate date]; NSLog(@"Time passed: %d", [now timeIntervalSinceDate:self.pressedDownDate]); }

You can do this by changing the content of the button in the button's click event private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (MediaButton.Content == FindResource("image1")) { MediaButton.Content = FindResource("image2"); } else { MediaButton.Content = FindResource("image1"); } } See this answer for details: http://stackoverflow.com/a/5973592/1384848

How to put a button on the default keyboard? I want a button that when is pressed, it chance to another activity
You can't add buttons to an existing keyboard. However, you can suggest a label and id for the custom IME action. See TextView.setImeActionLabel: Change the custom IME action associated with the text view, which will be reported to an IME with actionLabel and actionId when it has focus. You'll then have to call TextView.setOnEditorActionListener to provide a custom listener to listen for that IME event where you can then move to your next activity.

Deleting Post Via Jquery Ajax when Submit Form is Pressed
You need to change the parent divs to have the class name as "post" rather than having same ids for all. Then you can bind all items which having the class "post" to submit function and in the function find each form as source of event and find the child to get the value. See live solution here: http://jsfiddle.net/vendettamit/nn9FV/ Update code is here: $(document).ready(function(){ $("div.post").submit(function(e){ console.log(e); var currForm = e.delegateTarget.firstElementChild; var postid = $(currForm).children('#postid').val(); var unique= $(currForm).children('#unique').val(); var str = 'unique='+ unique+ '&postid='+ postid; console.log(str) $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "

I have to press submit button twice in IE using jquery framework to submit form
You have two options here. On both you need to stop the submit event and validate the form. One is to go through all the fields in the form, add the class error to the invalid ones (if there's any), set the variable result and return (or submit if everything is alright). The other is to stop the test at the first invalid field found, not using the variable result, and return (or submit if everything is alright). JS $(function () { $("#test").on("submit", function (e) { // Stop the submit, because you need to validate the form before proceeding. e.preventDefault(); // Check the comments below to decide for the use of the variable. var result = true; $(".required").removeClass("error"); $.each($("input.required"), function (k, v) {

submit button and document.Form.submit() different scripts for processing
Following the idea to use AJAX would be the (best) solution. However it requires more effort. Also it might not be possible in all Environments. (A Customer, that cannot fill out a form, because of not working ajax requests is a gone customer :) ) to do this with plain PHP, you can simple tell the (automated) submits apart from the one, invoked by the button: if (isset($_POST["button_name"])){ //button clicked }else{ //autoinvoked. } Now, the usal way would be to include your processing side, and maybe redirect afterwards, using header() when the user clicks the button.

You can add a method that observes that event. The one you're looking for, I think, is UIControlEventTouchDown - (void)initOrSomething { UIButton *button = ... django submit two different forms with one submit button
Instead of having multiple <form ..> tags in html, use only one <form> tag and add fields of all forms under it. Example in template <form > {{ form1.as_p }} {{ form2.as_p }} {{ form3.as_p }} </form> So when user submits the form you will get all forms data in view, then you can do what you are doing in view. As if request.method == 'POST': form1 = Form1(request.POST) form2 = Form2(request.POST) print(request.POST) if form1.is_valid() or form2.is_valid(): Its better to use form prefix in such cases. So you can do if request.method == 'POST': form1 = Form1( request.POST,prefix="form1") form2 = Form2( request.POST,prefix="form2") print(request.POST) if form1.is_valid() or form2.is_va

Two submit button - default submit not working because of other
The $('#code').submit function in the JS file seems to be the problem. Since both buttons in your PHP are submit buttons, clicking on either of those two buttons will trigger the form submit action and it in-turn is triggering the AJAX request for process.php. If the script file is commented out, then the default action page mentioned in your form tag is called and that is the reason why your next button works when the script is commented out. You should add a control within the JS file to check which of those submit buttons was actually clicked by the user and then do the appropriate action. The below is a very basic sample for your reference: HTML <form id="code" action="aa.php" method="post"> <input type="submit" class="button" name="compile" value="compile"/> &

How to catch mouse movement when left mouseButton is pressed on a button control and released on different button control?
This behaviour caused by the fact that the mouse is getting captured. Detect what button was pressed?
You can set a tag for each button and then use that as a key into a map from string to image button. That way you can use a single click listener (or onClick method) and easily get the appropriate image. In code, you would use the setTag(Object) method. In XML, you can use the android:tag="value" attribute. Map<Object, ImageButton> buttonMap = new HashMap<Object, ImageButton>(); // initialize the map // later: public void onClick(View v) { ImageButton btn = buttonMap.get(v.getTag()); if (btn != null) { btn.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); } } Instead of a Map, you could set the button tags and the image button tags and use findViewWithTag() to find the image button corresponding to the clicked button. public void onClick(View v) { View btn = findViewWit

How can I add row of components to a GUI when a button has been pressed?
There are "table components" specifically Table, TableLayout & GridLayout. Adding a row to each of them is somewhat different, lets assume you use a TableLayout container with the container being tbl and having 2 columns: tbl.addComponent(cmp1); tbl.addComponent(cmp2); tbl.animateLayout(300); Adds both components and animates them into place.

Restart my GUI if button is pressed
You need to give your class a reset() method that goes through all the necessary fields and resets them to their initial state. There's no one-size fits all solution -- you're just going to have to write the code. This method can then be called by the ActionListener added to your reset JButton. To make this even possible, any field that needs to be reset must be a field of the class and not a field local to a method or constructor, else it won't be visible to your reset method. Edit You state in comment: my startApp() calls this method, setUp(), so theoretically, shouldnt there be new instances of every variable? and my main problem is that the gui itself is messed up, like it doesnt display fully or properly I would avoid creating new instances of variables and instead try to re

Wait until button pressed(QT)
It appears to me that what you're missing is that Qt is based on event-driven programming. Qt provides widgets / objects such as buttons, windows, controllers etc which you display to the user. A QPushButton object, for example, is able to receive various events, such as those from clicking a mouse button, or pressing a keyboard key and many more. With events, Qt provides a slot / signal mechanism for receiving those events and reacting to them. So, as an example, in the case of a QPushButton, there's a signal called 'pressed'. When the user clicks on the button, its pressed signal is emitted. You, as the developer, can connect the pressed signal to a slot, which is a function that you define. For example, in a class called MyClass that is derived from QObject: - QPushButton button("Sel

Figure out which button[type=submit] was clicked in a multi button form
The action helper will not pass jQuery event information, but you can get access to it by using the view's event handler instead. So for example you could define a submit-event handler like: App.MultiButtonForm = Ember.View.extend({ tagName: 'form', submit: function(event) { console.log('submit with: ', event); event.preventDefault(); } }); {{#view App.MultiButtonForm}} <button type="submit" data-source='X'>Do X</button> <button type="submit" data-source='Y'>Do Y</button> {{/view}} See https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/issues/1684 for discussion of action helper vs. view event handler Also see this post for ideas on how to figure out what button was pressed: http://www.webmuse.co.uk/blog/using-forms-with-multiple-submit-buttons-and-jquery-e
