How to hide title from mobile version of blogger?
You have to put it inside a @media query. Something like /* Portrait tablet to landscape and desktop */ @media (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 979px) { .mobile-index-title.entry-title { display: none; } } /* Landscape phone to portrait tablet */ @media (max-width: 767px) { .mobile-index-title.entry-title { display: none; } } /* Landscape phones and down */ @media (max-width: 480px) { .mobile-index-title.entry-title { display: none; } }

How to stop jQuery Mobile calling $.mobile.loading('hide') during changePage?
Maybe it's too much for many, but I found a solution other than the written in the comments (which didn't work for me). I use the jquery mobile router and in the 'show' event of a page, I do $.mobile.loading("show");, so when the page appears it does with the loading spinner showing. Though to hide the spinner, I had to use $('.ui-loader').hide();, which is weird, I know... I use Jquery Mobile Router for a lot more, but it solved this issue. (Maybe just listening to the proper event and triggering the spinner would also work, as this is what JQMR does...) I'm using JQM 1.4.2...

Mobile version/desktop version?
Maybe you should not make that redirect mandatory. Just popup a JS Box asking your visitor whether he wants to be redirected and if you redirect him yourself to your desktop site, just do not display that box. In regards to redirects to/from mobile sites you might also want to read : http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/changes-in-rankings-of-smartphone_11.html

Shell Script to change Jenkins build description picking bogus old description
I always see the null result for descriptions that haven't been set (in Jenkins 1.517). The difference that @DavidW sees is that null is used for unset descriptions and "" (the empty string) is used for a description that had a value that was cleared.

Mysql - store description and short_description or use SUBSTRING(description..)
No, it isn't (i.e. it isn't wasting space) in general. In all MySQL 5 versions there are: MySQL never uses indexes with functions in conditions (something like WHERE SUBSTR(X, 1, 2)=Y) You can build an index on VARCHAR column. I.e. if you will use short text - you'll be certain that you can use indexing by it and that index will be used. On TEXT column building an index is possible only with certain length. So if you have many SELECT queries - it's a good idea to have short descriptions (besides written above, TEXT fields are stored separately, so accessing them could cause the worst issue - disk operations). In this case you'll be able to create and use index with avoiding unnecessary disk reading operations.

Scrolling not working in the mobile version
Might be late but still useful - i faced the same problem with scroll in mobile version of a website and found out that it's the position: absolute; that breaks it. BUT! There is a solution - http://iscrolljs.com/ I found this very very helpful. Basicly you just initialize the plugin on wrapper element without any changes to DOM and everything works.

Padding in a mobile version with bootstrap
You need to work with negative margins and compensate with padding. Try: footer { margin-left: -20px; margin-right: -20px; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; } Edit: To clarify. You need to put this in your media-query that targets screen smaller than 767px likes this: @media (max-width: 767px) { footer { margin-left: -20px; margin-right: -20px; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; } }

GWT: Hide address bar on mobile devices
Why not make your app fullscreen instead? You'd have to account for different implementations (webkit vs. gecko prefixes, method naming differs from the W3C standards, etc.), but that seems like the way to go in your case. Instead of hideAddressBar(), have a goFullScreen(), ruffly doing this: function goFullScreen() { var docElm = $doc.documentElement; if (docElm.requestFullscreen) { docElm.requestFullscreen(); } else if (docElm.mozRequestFullScreen) { docElm.mozRequestFullScreen(); } else if (docElm.webkitRequestFullScreen) { docElm.webkitRequestFullScreen(); } } See Using Fullscreen Mode on MDN, and also Using the fullscreen API in web browsers on hacks.mozilla.org. bootstrap.css - How to hide sidebar when mobile?
Check it on www.responsinator.com I guess there is no such white-spacing to the right. Moreover row-fluid class of bootstrap converts every child span class to full width when the site is opened on any other device except for desktop. So in any case, the width:100% is assigned to span9 when you open it on iPhone4. There seems to be a little space on the right cuz of two reasons probably: 1. Text is not justified. 2. container-fluid adds a padding of 20px to the left as well as right. Hope it helps. :)

mobile version of website doesn't fit horizontally
If you want your layout to be mobile friendly, it's best to be thinking about this right from the beginning. So, for example, if you are going to set fixed widths on elements (which I don't recommend), such as— #back-menu-left {with: 500px;} you need to ask yourself what will happen to this on a small screen. So, either don't set that width, or immediately write an @media rule to override it on smaller screens. (I didn't check through the rest of your code, just stopping when I found one oversized element. Best to check and see if there are any other overwide elements like that.)

hide column in bootstrap on mobile phone
Yes, this is actually the approach twitter bootstrap uses. Have a look at the source code of their grid system. The hidden-phone, ... classes (these have been renamed to hidden-xs, .. in version 3) work by just setting the "display" attribute to "none" or "block" depending on the current media query. Have a look at their responsive-utilities and mixins and look for the text 'responsive-visibility' if you want the full details. While this is 'less' and not 'css', it should be readable. If you're curious what 'less' is, visit the website at lesscss.org

Mobile version of site with additional screen for navigation
A site can only have one default page so you will need to redirect a user to the mobile menu page when they first visit the site. There's a couple of ways to do this would be to set a cookie indicating they have been to the main navigation or use session variables. In either case, you would need to add a plugin or code to the default page to determine if they need to be redirected or not. That said, why not just make your template responsive. It's fairly easy to implement the Bootstrap framework (there are tons of templates already out there using Bootstrap) and then it is trivial to show or hide content based on the size of the screen the user has.

Having two websites use the same WordPress database to create a mobile version
Can't link to an authoritative resource, but I'm pretty sure that's not possible. Sharing the same user table is possible, but the whole site not. But I think that's an XY Problem. Instead you should serve your own theme when your selected devices hit the site. Study how the plugin WP Touch or similar do it. I know we need the hook template_redirect, which is the one I use in my plugins, when we want to override the Theme and serve a Plugin template.

how modify mobile responsive version structure in wordpress
The first thing is to make sure your div is not hidden within your mobile media query in your stylesheet (probably style.css) @media screen and (min-device-width: 319px) and (max-device-width: 640px){ /*carousel NOT display:none;*/ } The second is to play with responsive jQuery. There's a lot to learn but this Bones theme script may get you started: jQuery(document).ready(function($) { /* Responsive jQuery is a tricky thing. There's a bunch of different ways to handle it, so be sure to research and find the one that works for you best. */ /* getting viewport width */ var responsive_viewport = $(window).width(); /* if is below 481px */ if (responsive_viewport < 481) { } /* end smallest screen */ /* if is larger than 481px */ i

Hack to hide Safari's lower navigation bar for mobile app
As said by BoltClock♦ in this post: How to hide Safari Mobile browser bottom button bar in iPhone? You cannot programmatically hide the toolbar in Mobile Safari. Your users need to add your web app to their home screens in order for the bars to be hidden when they next launch your app by tapping its icon. This is done by tapping the middle button in the toolbar, then choosing Add to Home Screen. You may need to display a message informing your users to do this.

DW6 Fluid grid layout IE8 and lower connects mobile version
This should do the trick for the redirection: <!--[if lte IE 8]> <script type="text/javascript"> window.location = "http://thehouseofseven.com/ottima/indexie.html"; </script> <![endif]--> As I'm sure you know, IE<9 doesn't do media queries, so that's the root of the problem. Since you have a responsive site for the rest of the world, you may still be able to whip IE8 and IE7 into shape. Polyfills are availabe which will often make older versions of IE understand media queries. I've had good success with Respond.js, and the other most popular option is css3-mediaqueries.js I usually call respond.js with a conditional comment like this in the head of the page: <!--[if (lt IE 9) & (!IEMobile)]> <script src="/path-to/respond.min.js">
