Visual Studio 2012 "Visual C# class" template location
I'm not entirely sure if this is the same with VS 2012, but I think you can tell VS to regenerate the cache using the command devenv /installvstemplates (provided you run the command as administrator). More complete explanation (for VS 2010) here: http://ericsowell.com/blog/2007/5/22/how-to-edit-visual-studio-templates

Visual Studio 2010 - Task List. What is the UNDONE token used for?
The UNDONE tag does not seem to be used too much; I personally never used it. I suppose it would be to let people know that some code has been removed; // UNDONE: unnecessary code removed... I'm not too sure about its usefulness thought, I would also like to know if anybody uses this.

Add filter to visual studio template
You can find the answer here. Some says that the issue occurs when Solution Explorer is not open. Here is my solution based on upper link: private Project getActiveProject(DTE2 dte) { Array projects = dte.ActiveSolutionProjects as Array; if (projects == null || projects.Length == 0) { projects = dte.Solution.SolutionBuild.StartupProjects as Array; if (projects == null || projects.Length == 0) { Projects pro = dte.Solution.Projects; if (pro == null || pro.Count == 0) return null; return pro.Item(0); } } return projects.GetValue(0) as Project; }

Visual studio 2013 preview SPA template
TL;DR Don't use a space in the project name Kiran, I went to reproduce the problem from scratch. I messed around with the first project (trying to get it to work) so much that I didn't think it would be much help in diagnosing the problem. The new project worked fine... Isn't it great when you can't reproduce the problem? Well I looked carefully at what I did differently.. couldn't think of anything, yet yesterday, I spent all evening trying to get this work... I'd recreated the project from scratch several times! Finally I realised... I named my project "Test SPA" whereas today I was too lazy to write such a long name.. just called it "SPA". Just created a new project with a space in the name.. and have successfully reproduced the problem. Let me know if you still need me to send

How to add driver template to Visual Studio 2012

C++ Template issue with visual studio 2012
The issue is that in the second case, you T const& is being deduced to const char(&)[6], which is a reference to an array of 6 characters. In VS2012, when you do the comparison using the ?:, it's decaying the array references to char*, which is then not able to be returned as a reference. GCC 4.7.2 doesn't exhibit this decay (See https://ideone.com/yIBZWi ). Can you try the less compact version below (I don't have VS2012 on hand)? It should be able to avoid the decay by not using a and b together in the return. template <typename T> inline T const& max (T const& a, T const& b) { if(a<b) return b; else return a; }

Visual studio won't compile template class with *.inl implementation
The above code compile on msvc2012. I just removed #include "enumFile.h and added the ctor and dctor of ResourceHolder. this is my main. update #include "resourceholder.h" struct Resource { bool loadFromFile( const std::string& filename ) { return true; } }; int main() { Resource r; ResourceHolder< Resource, int > rh; rh.load( 30, "" ); } Here the problem is that Identifier cannot be an enum. Identifier must be a struct or class. You can wirte something namespace Texture { struct a_tag{ int id }; struct b_tag{ int id }; } Or use little metaprogramming: /** Helper class to use integer in template parameters. */ template < Texture::ID > struct EnumToStruct { static const Texture::ID value = e; }; int main() { Resource r;

How to create a single setup.exe using visual studio 2010?
The app.application manifest file and setup.exe are the so-called smart client deployment model. AFAIK, you can provide a link to app.application on a webpage and .NET aware browsers are able to download necessary files from the manifest. If you need a setup package that end users can click-and-install, you should use a setup creator like the one VS 2010 suggests - InstallShield Express.

Why does Visual Studio's MVC template set ViewBag.Title in views rather than in the corresponding controllers?
its on the coder to decice what action method return what views.. so your controller OR Action method might just return a JSON object or an HTTPResponseCode in that case there is no point setting the title inside the controller or action method.. its ultimately is a presentation thing as you might also not want to display to say Create on a view that creates your entity instead you might wanna say Create which now depends upon the action method and the controller.

A big thank you! to imran_ku07 @ ASP.NET who solved my issue. I had totally forgotten that Unity picks the constructor with the most parameters by default if I don't specify otherwhise. Restricting function template types in Visual Studio 2012
Normally, you would write this as template <class float_t> typename std::enable_if< std::is_floating_point<float_t>::value, float_t>::type floor(float_x x) {...} That's how enable_if is intended to be used.

Is there a way to compile and run a single .cpp file in a Visual Studio Express '12 project?
All c++ programs start in the main function. Why don't you try calling age() from main? Of course, in order to do so, you will need your main.cpp to be aware that there is a function called age. This is where header files come in. In total, you will therefore need the following: main.cpp #include "age.h" int main() { age(); return 0; } age.h #ifndef AGE_H #define AGE_H int age(); #endif age.cpp #include "age.h" int age() { // Do age stuff. return 42; }

Visual Studio dll export issue for class and function template instantiations
I believe you need to export the specializations. Have you tried this in your .cpp file: template EXPORT class TemplatedStaticLib<double>; template EXPORT class TemplatedStaticLib<std::string>; and pretty much the same in your header: template EXPORT class TemplateStaticLib<double>; template EXPORT class TemplateStaticLib<std::string>; I think that will work with your EXPORT macro (assuming the .cpp file see __declspec(dllexport) and the header sees __declspec(dllimport)). I admit I'm not an expert with Windows' __declspec. I admit that I drew my answer from this other answer on the intarwebs: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/4fd49664-e28e-4f23-b1eb-b669d35ad264/function-template-instantation-export-from-dll (scroll all the way to

SketchFlow Template for Windows Phone doesn't work with Blend for Visual Studio
I've also posted to that thread with a solution. Which I will also add here. I've posted a fix for using this template with SketchFlow that ships in Blend/VS2013 (may work in 2012 but I didn't test). Please read my instructions I've tried to be a clear as possible. You WILL need to download and install the SketchFlowWP7.zip file from this codeplex (I also provide a copy in the link below). Extract SketchFlowWP7.zip and run the SketchFlowWP7.msi to install. When it prompts where to install choose the path to your copy of Blend. For instance for VS2013 it's default path is "C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0Blend" Next you will need to navigate down into the following folder "C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0BlendProjectTemplatesenCSharpWindowsPhone" Here y

Best way to deploy Visual Studio application that can run without installing
It is possible and is deceptively easy: "Publish" the application (to, say, some folder on drive C), either from menu Build or from the project's properties -> Publish. This will create an installer for a ClickOnce application. But instead of using the produced installer, find the produced files (the EXE file and the .config, .manifest, and .application files, along with any DLL files, etc.) - they are all in the same folder and typically in the binDebug folder below the project file (.csproj). Zip that folder (leave out any *.vhost.* files and the app.publish folder (they are not needed), and the .pdb files unless you foresee debugging directly on your user's system (for example, by remote control)), and provide it to the users. An added advantage is that, as a ClickOnce application,

Deploying Qt C++ Application from Visual Studio qwindows.dll error
If you are using libGLESv2.dll, then you must include libEGL.dll, too. You can't see that in depends.exe, don't know how the Qt developers managed to hide this. If your Qt is out of the box, then both Dlls are necessary even if you are not using OpenGL. Also, if your Qt is out of the box, you need to include also the three ic*.dll, which contain information for Unicode handling.

Upgrading A visual studio 2010 MVC application to VS 2012 MVC

I had to wipe out anything related to VS2010 including from the AppData folder. After a full clean up, Intellisense works again in VS2012 but if by any chance I open VS 2010 on the same project, then intellisense is immediately broken in VS 2012.

Create an installer from Visual Studio 2012 to run an application on another PC
As Wix cannot integrate directly into Visual Studio Express, you can install the Visual Studio Isolated Shell Environment along side the express edition. Or you can use a stand alone Wix IDE like WixEdit to author the installer. I suspect that you've downloaded the wrong Visual Studio Express version. The Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows 8 is meant to build Windows 8 Store Apps, you probably need the Visual Studio Express 2012 for Desktop Applications version instead, even when building on Windows 8, the name is a bit confusing, I agree.
