A combo-box providing a resizable file name completion list and drop-down list with a history
Solution for WPF Part 1 Principle, you can use styles and templates for the implementation of your question. In the ComboBox the result is given in the Popup, but default it does not support changing the size. Add resizing is not difficult, if you use event DragDelta. Example: private void MyThumb_DragDelta(object sender, DragDeltaEventArgs e) { double yadjust = MyPopup.Height + e.VerticalChange; double xadjust = MyPopup.Width + e.HorizontalChange; if ((xadjust >= 0) && (yadjust >= 0)) { MyPopup.Width = xadjust; MyPopup.Height = yadjust; } } The event is better to set on the Thumb control (He also has events DragStarted, DragCompleted). It's all very well, but we do need to do inside the ComboBox. One way is to use the S

Make combobox act like drop-down list (C#)
Visual Studio 2010 does have support for Drop Down Lists when using .Net 4. It is actually part of the same control you're already using (the Combo Box), you just have to set the property for it. Change the DropDownStyle property to DropDownList. Or do it programmatically with: comboBox1.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDownList; Check out the MSDN on ComboBoxes: ComboBox.DropDownStyle Property

How can I change ComboBox's drop down list dynamically, when it's showed on-screen already?
I think there is no way to force a normal ComboBox into this behavior. You will have to create your own ComboBox that implements it. A good starting point will be this article: ComboBox List Control Host

I need a drop down list to display a list of active cases, but I keep getting an error when there is more than one returned
You should try add the following in your query: masterCaseList.DataSource = MasterCasesBLL.GetAllMasterCases(false) .Where(x => x.MainContact != null && x.MainContact.MainContact == true) .Select(x => new { MainContact = x.MainContact.MainContactLabel, index = x.ID }) .ToList(); It appears that you have a null reference when the ToList method force the iteration.

WPF - Combobox - Add Item when user enter text in combo
Bind Text property of your combo box to your view model item and then add to the bound collection there, like, Text="{Binding UserEnteredItem, UpdateSourceTrigger=LostFocus}" Change the UpdateSourceTrigger to LostFocus because default (PropertyChanged) will communicate each character change to your viewmodel. // user entered value private string mUserEnteredItem; public string UserEnteredItem { get { return mUserEnteredItem; } set { if (mUserEnteredItem != value) { mUserEnteredItem = value; TypePLCList.Add (mUserEnteredItem); // maybe you want to set the selected item to user entered value TypePLC = mUserEnteredItem; } } } // your selected item private string mTypePLC; public string TypePLC {

AngularJS: How to display a list of images (via Drag and Drop)
Assuming that fileList variable contains the files that have been dragged and dropped, that is, taking the following line as reference: // FileList should go to the controller/view var fileList = evt.dataTransfer.files; ...you simply change the fileList variable to a scope variable instead of a local variable. Thus the above code would then read $scope.fileList = evt.dataTransfer.files; You don't need the $scope.$apply() function that follows the above code. Instead, your files should already be present in $scope.fileList. Use can then use this variable in the view that holds the drop-target directive.

Combo box and Drop Down size
The combo box has two properties in the format section that will accomplish this. The List Rows controls how many items are listed and how tall the drop down will be before you have to start scrolling. The List Width will control how wide your box is while the Width will control how large the combo box appears on your form.

Extjs Combo - Why combo is loading while I have not created form include combo
I guess you need set autoLoad: false config option for your combobox's store. In relation to your comments - I've created an example. You can check it on jsFiddle. It was created on ExtJs 3.4, but I think for 4.x it will be not very different. var arrTestData = [ ['AL', 'Alabama', 'The Heart of Dixie'], ['AK', 'Alaska', 'The Land of the Midnight Sun'], ['AZ', 'Arizona', 'The Grand Canyon State'], ['AR', 'Arkansas', 'The Natural State'], ['CA', 'California', 'The Golden State'] ]; var combosCount = 5; var arrItems = []; for (var i = 0; i < combosCount; i++) { var comboId = Ext.id(); // simple array store var store = new Ext.data.ArrayStore({ parentCombo: comboId, fields: ['abbr', 'state', 'nick'], data : [] }); store.

display the retrieved content after choose the option from drop down list in different places using ajax
The value that is given by the select is what is in the value="" attribute on each option. In your case you need to change the code displaying the options to: <select name="users" onchange="showUser(this.value)"> <option value="" selected></option> <?php $sql=mysql_query("SELECT asu_name from asu_staff"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)){ echo "<option value="".$row["asu_name"]."">" .$row["asu_name"]. "</option>"; } ?> </select> Try this. p.s. you could select an id with the name in your query, then use the id in the value="" attribute. Your query in your php code could then use the id in stead of the name.

Usually I'm using SelectedItem, but well may be there are several ways.

How to display a list of windows in WPF
Your thinking is correct, you need to create an ItemTemplate for the ItemsControl. Each item in the ItemsControl will be of Type Window and you need to expose the Title property in the template <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text={Binding Title}/> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate>

long list in c# windows phone. What are the ways to display LISTs in windows phone?
The idea of a ListBox/LongListSelector is to show a list of items that wouldn't fit on the screen at once. The user can scroll through all the items so it sounds like it's doing what you'd expect it to. If each item is too long for your deign plans then you have to change your item template design.

Can I create a proper drop down menu list in windows phone, nothing like Picker Box, ListPicker, AutoCompleteBox achieving my objective properly?
The ListPicker has a property ItemCountThreshold. This property allows you to specify when the ListPicker should display the full screen selector. This property defaults to 5. You can change the default to a much high number, but you should take caution with doing this. The ListPicker is meant to mimic controls that are used throughout the core apps (like Settings) of the phone. You'd have a hard time finding built in apps that show more than five items in the "dropdown". When displaying in FullMode, you should specify a FullModeItemTemplate and FullModeHeader. The FullModeHeader should be in all caps

how to use combobox as a dropdown list and textbox in asp.net like combobox
HTML4 does not include any <input> element that provides functionality similar to Windows' ComboBox control - you have to use separate <input type="text"> and <select> elements as fallback. HTML5 does provide for this via the <datalist> element, which is currently supported by all current-version browsers except Safari (for both Mac OS X and iOS): http://caniuse.com/datalist For everything else, I strongly suggest using jQuery's Autocomplete add-in which has a combobox mode: http://jqueryui.com/autocomplete/#combobox

How to display the name of the Action in the combo box
You see hash code probably because you are not overriding toString() method of StyledEditorKit.FontFamilyAction. You should override it to return reasonable string ("Serif"), or use JComboBox.setRenderer(ListCellRenderer) to set custom renderer that renders created StyledEditorKit.FontFamilyAction to reasonable text.

Need to populate countries list and respective states list in combo box
I bet you can get the (static) list from somewhere in the internet. For countries, just google "ISO country list". States are more complicated (unless you only mean US states), but I bet they are somewhere. As it is a quite static data, compile it into your own list and put it in a .js file, it will have lots of advantages faster to use (no need for extra connection). Even faster once the browser caches the .js file no dependency on a service that tomorrow may shut down. no need for the user to access the internet (if we are talking about deploying your app in a corporate intranet).

WPF - Templated Combobox's drop down won't open
Since the drop down is contained in the original ControlTemplate of the control - which you overwrite - it is simply not there any more. Either try accomplishing what you want without overwriting the ControlTemplate, or build your own drop down. Some hints: The ComboBox has a property IsEditable, which makes it so that you can write text into it. If you want to build your own drop down, look at the Popup control.

Vb.net send key combo to windows app
According to the documentation, + should be represented as {+}. In addition, as I read the documentation, you can combine Shift, Ctrl and Alt for a single key without needing to encompass each key in parentheses. You only need parentheses if combining these modifier keys with multiple keys. To specify keys combined with any combination of the SHIFT, CTRL, and ALT keys, precede the key code with one or more of the following codes. For example, if you wanted to press and hold Ctrl and Alt while pressing A and then B, you'd use ^+(AB). (^+AB would produce Ctrl + Alt + A, then release the modifier keys and press B.) Since you only want to press +, I believe the following should work: SendKeys.Send("^+{+}")

in igCombo - How to display in the combo's input the selectedItem's tepmlate
I could try to explain why the combo input would not intentionally use the itemTemplate - the template is meant to be mostly rich HTML content (images, links and whatnot as in this sample http://www.infragistics.com/products/jquery/sample/combo-box/templating) and you can't put that in an input field. However, in your case you are just using text so it is doable - first the ui.items provided to the event (as the name suggests) is a collection, so take the first one and the items don't have template property unless that is part of your model that I can't see. Like other Ignite UI controls, the Combo uses the Templating Engine and so can you! Take the itemTemplate from the control and the item from the data source like in this snippet: function (evt, ui) { var templatedValue = $.ig.tm
