No internet access on Android Emulator, Shared Internet Connection
Finally I sorted out my problem. It was problem due to dns server address. I did below steps open CMD Goto your android-sdk/tools path, Like my path is G:Andriod Developmentandroid-sdk ools type this command G:Andriod Developmentandroid-sdk ools>emulator.exe -avd Android_2.3.3 -dns-server 8.8.8.8 -scale 0.75 here Android_2.3.3 is your AVD name, -dns-server 8.8.8.8 will set your DNS address to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.8.8:55 and -scale will scale your AVD to specified value. this will start a new emulator. Enjoy :) Hope may be helpful to others

how to get dataset of 10.000 static html pages from Wiki
You might want to read the section "Static HTML tree dumps for mirroring or CD distribution" of Database download on Wikipedia (and in fact that whole page, which points you to 7zip for unpacking the main archive).

How to securely store sql files apache server
Storing on the server If you must, store them outside of the web root and download them with something like rsync over ssh. Best option (assuming you're running MySQL) Don't store them on the server, but rather run a cron on your local machine and use ssh and MySQL to do the dump to your local system. That way there is no ominous file someone can have that contains all of your data (unless of course your local network is compromised). Another option (again another example with MySQL) You might also look into doing database replication with your local machine by setting up a local MySQL server.

Securely Allow Users to Grant Tech Support Access to Their Account
I'd like to allow users [...] to grant access to their account for a time, with the option to manually revoke access. You are describing delegated authorization. The OAuth protocol is designed for exactly this, and is more secure. In OAuth 2.0 terms, the end user is a resource owner, and the system that tech support reps use to access a user's account is called a client. OAuth provides a way for a resource owner to grant a client access to his resources at a resource server. After the authorization process, the client receives an access token. The access permissions associated with the client's access token have a scope, which defines the degree of access authorization the client has for the resource owner's (the end user's) resources. This is more secure than your solution to share

How to launch html using Chrome at "--allow-file-access-from-files" mode?
Search for the path of your Chrome executable and then, on your cmd, try : > "C:PathToChrome.exe" --allow-file-access-from-files Source EDIT : As I see on your question, don't forget that Windows is a little bit similar to Unix, so when you type "chrome ...", cmd will search for Chrome in the PATH, but in general the Chrome folder isn't on the PATH. Also, you don't specify an extension for your executable... So if you move to Chrome's folder, this command will probably work too : > .chrome.exe --allow-file-access-from-files

How to get name of exe which is trying to access internet?
Look at Winsock Layered Service Providers to monitor traffic. I believe LSPs are DLLs that get loaded into each process, so you should be able to call GetModuleFileName(NULL) to discover the EXE name when your DLL is loaded. The Wikipedia article linked above shares my strongest concerns: One major common issue with LSPs was that if they were to be removed or unregistered improperly or if the LSP was buggy, it would result in corruption of the Winsock catalog in the registry, and the entire TCP/IP stack would break and the computer could no longer access the network. So if you are new to Windows programming and/or do not take proper precautions with writing these types of filter drives, then tread carefully. Otherwise, a bug in your program will easily screw up the user's m

Allow access to a locally stored XML from Internet Explorer9
I managed to fix. I decided to pass all data in a JSON object INLINE. You can do it in the HTML DOM, using <script type="application/json" id="stuff> json code here </script> and call it in js using var myVar=JSON.parse(document.getElementById('stuff').innerHTML); This is HTML% valid: http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/Overview.html#the-script-element . I decided to write it directly in the js, and to call it like a var. var tabObj = {"tabelle": json code }; I have to understand yet if I have to parse it or if is not mandatory. That's all folks. Thanks for the help, I know it was a strange question.

Monodroid GenyMotion access internet through code
It's not your code: you have discovered that genymotion is not on the internet - this flaw is by official design. this happens because genymotion (a wrapper for VirtualBox) dis-disconnects the correct adapters (that you may or may not have set in VirtualBox) and uses it's own (faulty) "Host Only Adapter" networking setting instead, and then HIDES that it does this. To fix this highly unfair "bug" (feature?) you have to go into VirtualBox, find the GenyMotion machine by name and then power it off, right click to "Settings" networking and then click under "adapter 2" (tab) and tick "enable network adapter" then click "attached to:>Bridged Adapter" assuming your pc that you are running it all on runs under DHCP it will set up a IP for the Android VM that GenyMotion proclaims as it's own (whi

Internet access from friend's wifi over GSM network
GSM is a circuit-switched, voice-optimised service, not a data service. You mention making a "call" - this word is normally used for voice calls. So that's the first problem. The second problem would be getting a data connection between your phone and your friend's phone. The snag is, that you can't make a data connection directly to someone else's phone using the GPRS/UMTS/LTE networks. You can only make a data connection (eg a PDP context) from your phone to a server in your operator's core network. Then you make an IP connection on top of that, to whatever websites you want. So your friend's phone would have to be a web server, for example, and it would also have to be connected to the network. To connect your phone with your friend's, you need a peer to peer data connection, like

access to a tomcat from internet (security terms)
The best way to do this (in security terms), is to leave the Tomcat server running on the local network, but provide VPN access to the network. This way others can access the server from the internet if they're connected via VPN, but not just everyone will be able to access it. That being said, is there a reason you are worried about externally facing your Tomcat? As long as your Tomcat and the host OS are both fully patched, you should be OK unless your web app itself has vulnerabilities. Keep those patches up to date though! If you're worried about the security of your web app, you should probably consider hiring a professional penetration tester to take a look at things for you. That can be really expensive, so before you do that scan your app with some scanners like w3af, Wapiti,

I see two possibility: 1) Make sure your ip_forward is set to 1 (sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward=1) 2) Make sure it is not a DNS issue: try docker run base ping google.com, if it does not work, you can set custom dns server: docker run -dns 8.8.8.8 base ping google.com.

Python deployment with virtualenv (on a no-internet-access server)
Three options I would consider: Run your own PyPI mirror with the dependencies you need. You really only need to build the file layout and pull from your local server using the index-url flag: $ pip install --index-url http://pypi.beastcraft.net/ numpy Build virtualenvs on the same architecture and copy those over as needed. This works, but you're taking a risk on true portability. Use terrarium to build virtual environments then bring those over (basically option 2 but with easier bookkeeping/automation). I've done all of these and actually think that hosting your own PyPI mirror is the best option. It gives you the most flexibility when you're making a deployment or trying out new code.

Quite obviously it cannot find the file in the current directory. Make sure the following are correct: The file is included in your project and its Copy to Output Directory property is set to Copy always or Copy if newer. Use Application.StartupPath to make sure you are pointing to correct directory, so the first line would become: Code: var myFile = Path.Combine(Application.StartupPath, "html_file.html");

Host the Sharepoint portal for Internet access provided windows authentication exist
Disclaimer: This question would be more appropriate in a forum like SuperUser or Sharepoint StackExchange. I am not a system administrator so my answer will lack detail and probably wont be optimal. The only thing you need to provide is access from an external interface to your network. So something that routes requests from outside of your network to your sharepoint instance. This is usually achieved through a reverse proxy and proper configuration of DNS. You can setup a reverse proxy by different means, if your organisation uses the Microsoft Stack then I suggest setting up IIS as a reverse proxy to your Sharepoint Instance. There are multiple tutorials on how to do this on the web. http://sahelp.sharepointforall.com/FAQ/bconfigure_IIS.html You then need to add an entry to your org

java script queries not showing results until temporary internet files deleted
To prevent the browser from caching your content and then serving that (stale) content up, you can set headers that say that your content shouldn't be stored in caches, which will force the browser to load a clean copy from your server every time the page is loaded, ensuring that up-to-date content is loaded each time. How to set HTTP headers (for cache-control)? has info, though you'll want to use NO-CACHE instead of PUBLIC, since that poster was trying to enable caching and you're trying to disable it. You can do more complicated things if you want (e.g. if you know that your database is only updated once an hour on the hour, you could set cache-control headers that will say that the content can be cached, but only till the end of the hour), but for what you've described, simply disall

what is the best way to check in C# .NET if a directory has access to list files or a unauthorized access exception would rise
The best way to check the permission, is try to access the direcoty (read/write/list) & catch the UnauthorizedAccessException. However for some reason out there, if you want to check permissions, following code should satisfy your need. You need to read Access Rules for the directory. private bool DirectoryCanListFiles(string folder) { bool hasAccess = false; //Step 1. Get the userName for which, this app domain code has been executing string executingUser = System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name; NTAccount acc = new NTAccount(executingUser); SecurityIdentifier secId = acc.Translate(typeof(SecurityIdentifier)) as SecurityIdentifier; DirectorySecurity dirSec = Directory.GetAccessControl(folder); //Step 2. VS 2012 MVC - How does file structure of View files affect access to relevant Model / Controller files?
I'm not clear on this line of code: public ActionResult ResourceType() { return View("ResourceType/Index"); } Does this mean that you are loading the resource type view from the Parameters controller? If that's the case, it's not what you want to do. You want to use RedirectToAction. Edit: you could also supply the model in your existing code using a different View() overload. I assume this isn't what you want, though, since you do have a ResourceTypeController. Edit #2 Based on your comment, I then figured that once those sub views were loaded, their own individual controllers would take over? No, it actually works the other way around. The controller loads the view (and passes the model, if one is required). It looks like you are trying to load the view, and expecting

Serving static files( including HTML files). Nginx vs Node.js. Which one is more scalable?
Both Node.js and Nginx are asynchronous (non-blocking) servers. Nginx is definitely more well suited for serving your static files. However, depending on your use case, the difference may not be worth the added administration overhead. You would really have to be running a significant amount of traffic before you would notice the difference.

How can I package html data (html text, images, etc) in PHP so a client can access it (iOS, Android)
You could try the data URI scheme. It allows you to encode an image file directly into your HTML code. <img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAUAAAAFCAYAAACNbyblAAAAHElEQVQI12P4//8/w38GIAXDIBKE0DHxgljNBAAO9TXL0Y4OHwAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==" alt="Red dot" /> That example is taken from this Wikipedia article, which also provides a PHP example. It's very easy to do. The caveat to this is browser support but it sounds like most modern browsers, including mobile, should support it. Give it a go and see, should take no time to implement and you'll know right away if it's the right solution.
