Popup Window with javascript - open new popup in the old popup window
Don't you just want to close the old window each time #canvas is clicked? //earlier: var winPop = false; // in the click event: if (winPop) { winPop.close(); } winPop = window.open('About.aspx?info=' + info, "pop", "resizable,width=1000,height=600,"); And to close it later: window.onbeforeunload = function(e) { if (winPop) { winPop.close(); } };

How to close a popup window when a button on the popup window is click?
In the parent window I placed a function called close_Popup(). function closePopup() { $.window.closeAll(); } And in the popup window I used also the codes below to call the function in the parent window to close the popup window. $("#no").click(function() { top.closePopup(); }); the "top" javascript function is used to call the function "closePopup()" that resides in the parent window and it solves the problem.

PLease tell me how to auto click in popup window by using Id of popup window page
You were almost there. Just use variable created when window is opened. var aut=window.open('https://www.mysite.com/mypage'); aut.document.getElementById('ID in abovepage').click(); // this will locate and click element within "aut" window. Note: This will work only if parent and popup belong to the same domain.

Disable parent window when child popup window is open
Play around with this code in the pop-up: $(window).on("blur", function(){ ... }); This will fire every time the user leaves the window. Inside the argument function you should be able to make the window regain its focus, maybe using $(this).focus() or self.focus(). I haven't tested this myself. Good luck!

You can't, not without a custom ROM. That kind of behavior is considered malware. You can only make a dialog window modal to your application, not to all apps. Using the navigation buttons to go to the home screen or another app will always work.

How to position popup window relative to the window top?
Here is the working jsfiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/kcG9W/. You needed to calculate the scroll offset of the window, which would make the top look like 0px, then add 200 to that so the top would appear to be 200px. $('#thumbs img').click(function(){ $('.popup').fadeIn(300); $('#dark-overlay').fadeIn(300); var top = $(window).scrollTop() + 200 + 'px'; $('.popup').css({top:top}); });

CSS positioning change resulting from resizing brower window
On line 370 of style.css, you have a position:fixed applied to the .artdesign. Im not sure what the logic was for putting it there exactly, but if you remove it, the page will scroll as you expect. The fixed position means that div is fixed and will not move (even if you scroll), its mainly used to stick headers and footers to the top and bottom of pages. (Like the twitter bootstrap page [notice the black header menu along the top?.. thats fixed]) So basically: .artdesign { /* Line 370 of style.css */ float: left; padding: 200px 0 0 10px; position: fixed; /* REMOVE THIS POSITION FIXED TO SCROLL! */ width: 579px; list-style-type: none; }

Powershell Website Automation: Javascript Popup Box Freeze

Popup window dismissal
One problem from your code is you've written pwindo = new PopupWindow(layout, width-40, height-(height/4), true); in which forth parameter is true i.e. keep popup window focusable. This is the mistake, as though you say pwindo.setOutsideTouchable(true); you've already defined that popup window should be focusable. Make that forth parameter to false. Still if you're not able to dismiss it, then before dismissing a popup like pwindo.dismiss() write this line, pwindo.setBackgroundDrawable(new BitmapDrawable(getResources()));. Hope it helps you.

Open a window popup using php
PHP is a server side scripting language. You'll need to use JavaScript (which runs on the client side most of the time) You're going to want to use something like window.open which should work a little like this: window.open('http://google.com'); Bear in mind that most browsers these days have built in pop-up blockers and will block your attempts unless over-ridden by the user. And if all else fails, use modals! Just to sum that up, Get PHP to return a value to the user, which the Javascript will then catch and launch the appropriate URL. This URL should be made to contain whatever parameters you'll need to tell the PHP who to open the chat session with.

How to know when a popup window closes
Instead of adding an event handler from the parent window for when the child closes, you could have the child call a function on the parent: parent window // needs to be somewhere global so the child window can call it var onChildWindowClose = function () { // ... }; child window window.onunload = function () { if (opener && !opener.closed) { opener.onChildWindowClose(); } };

Value from a popup window in a parent element
You can access the element's text through text(). You can change the value of the field through using val() That would make your code something like this $(function(){ $('.newsPicture').click(function() { window.close(); //get the text of the element we clicked var pictureName = $(this).text(); //put this value in our field $('#newsPicture').val(pictureName); }); }); or a shorter solution would be $(function(){ $('.newsPicture').click(function() { window.close(); $('#newsPicture').val($(this).text()); }); });

making a popup window with menus
You may not wish to shove a bunch of windows at the user since that will make for a very annoying user interface. Instead, consider doing what professional applications do -- keep one window in view for the most part, but change views in that window, showing an occasional dialog window as needed. In Swing you can use a CardLayout to help you swap JPanels, each with its own GUI/view on it. If you're interested in pursuing this, then check out the CardLayout tutorial. There are also plenty of examples of CardLayout use to be found on this site, several written by me.

DataTables fnDeleteRow from popup window
I figured it out. There was a couple issues. I was failing to do a ... mrTable = $('#contentMR').dataTable(); So I needed to be doing mrTable.fnDeleteRow() instead of contentMR.fnDeleteRow(). Then, instead of trying to call it directly from my popup window I needed to define a function on the main window and then call that function. The function on the main page is function removeRow(itemID) { mrTable.fnDeleteRow( $("#" + itemID)[0] ); } and then the code that calls it from the popup window is simply... opener.removeRow(entryID);

How do I make a popup window with just a textfield?
You can indeed retrieve the text entered by the user with a JOptionPane: String path = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter a path"); There is a great page about JOptionPane in the Java Tutorials: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/dialog.html But if you really need the user to select a path/a file, I think you rather want to display a JFileChooser: JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser(); if(chooser.showOpenDialog(null) == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) { File selectedFile = chooser.getSelectedFile(); } Otherwise you can go the hard way and create your own dialog with everything you want inside by using a JDialog. Edit Here is a short example to help you create your main window. With Swing, windows are created using JFrame. // Creating the main window o
