Eclipse Plugin Development: Make plugin dependent on CDT-plugin
Fro your first question, simply add the CDT plugins to your Required plug-ins of your project. Details here. Editors and natures are different things, you cannot set an "editor as a nature". Probably what you're searching for is the C++ nature you want to set for a project programmatically. Simply search the nature's ID in the .project file of a C++ project, then you can start looking into the details.

Eclipse Plugin Development: Is there a way to control installer messages about missing dependencies of my plugin?
You can't customize the error messages, but p2 just (with Kepler) got a lot smarter in trying to figure out what would need to be changed in the existing installation in order to allow the installation of something new. So in this case, the p2 remediation support would probably propose to update the installed product so that the Feature can be installed.

API development, Bootstrap and jQuery. Good idea to inject them all in user's code?
If you have to have jquery and bootstrap, the only acceptable solution for an embeddable widget would be an iframe. You could write a loader script which places the iframe with your main content onto the page. I've written a quite extensive article about how to build embeddable widgets and their best practices on my blog here: http://codeutopia.net/blog/2012/05/26/best-practices-for-building-embeddable-widgets/ (based on a Stack Overflow answer I gave some time ago, but couldn't find the link to it)

Unable to find SBT plugin for IntelliJ Idea 12
The plugin is not in the default repository, but only in nightlies. Have you followed this (from the blog you link to): Add the following URL to the list of custom plugin repositories in Settings | Plugins | Browse Repositories | Manage Repositories: http://download.jetbrains.com/scala/sbt-nightly-leda.xml It worked for me, after I added this repository I found the plugin.

Can't debug a Scala application in IntelliJ + sbt-idea-plugin
To debug just like to run, you need to create a run configuration (menu Run -> Edit Configurations). If you haven't done yet, you need to add an Application entry with the + button. Not only do you need to specify the main class, but also which "module" that class belongs to. By default, "Use classpath of module" will be empty. Here in the popup menu, you need to select the main module (not the one ending in "-build"). After you choose that and close with "Ok", it should work. Although not necessary, I also recommend to use sbt for building instead of "Make". In the configuration in the "Before launch" part, select "Make" and click on "-", then click on "+" and choose sbt -> test:products. Edit: Here is the reference for the SBT plugin for IntelliJ.

Intellij IDEA - How to disable automatic plugin update
The best way would probably be to not install it from the plugin repository. Try to install it from disk instead. Download it from the link you provided instead (the zip file will be downloaded): Then choose to Install plugin from disk... instead: And then point to the pmd.zip file: Edit During the update you will get a question whether you want to update the plugins as well and you can always uncheck that plugin: Edit2 Make sure that you don't have the Check for updates in channel checked. That might help you out:

JSP debugging in IntelliJ IDEA using the Tomcat Maven Plugin
It is indeed possible. You need to run the Tomcat plugin with some extra configuration and then connect to it like it was a remote Tomcat instance. Create a Remote Debug Run Configuration Click "Run" then "Edit Configurations" Click "Add New Configuration" (a green plus symbol), then "Tomcat Server", then "Remote". Give the configuration a sensible name e.g. JSP Debug. Untick "After launch". Make sure the remote connection port is correct (8080 should be fine but you may have configured this differently with the plugin). Switch to the "Startup/Connection" tab and select "Debug". Look at the configuration line it gives you and copy this. You will need this in the next step. Create a Maven Tomcat Plugin Run Configuration Click "Add New Configuration" (a green plus symbol), then "Maven

WordPress Plugin Development - How to Set a Locale
Or does wordpress automatically selects a plugin language based on the WordPress installation? That's very much exactly what it does. You need to define the language in your config file (by defining WPLANG). WP picks it up from there and localizes strings the best it can according to your chosen locale.

Eclipse Plugin Development---PopupMenuCreation
You should separate the code into the following pieces and dataflows: Handler: get the selection and create the wizard and wizard dialog (as you do already) Handler->Wizard: use the Wizard's constructor or a custom init(foo) method (which you call from the handler) to set the selected object (or whatever you want to pass as initial data) from the handler Wizard->WizardPage: When creating the Wizard, instantiate the WizardPage(s) and pass the selection to the wizard pages. (If you need a more complex model which is shared between the Wizard and its pages consider creating an instantiating a simple value-holder class as your wizard model; i.e., a simple java class with your data and getters/setters. That object can then be shared across the pages if you pass it to every page's constructor)

Unable to run JetBrains plugin at all during development
Okay, I can't believe I missed this, but the plugin(s) I was developing were disabled in the preferences panel of the test instance of IntelliJ. I was able to enable the plugins in the preferences and it started working again (and they continue to work because I assume those settings are persisted either in the test project or the development sandbox settings). I still have no idea how I disabled them in the first place, and I can't believe I didn't see that they were disabled in the preferences pane...

Twisted and easy plugin development
Don't use threads. The best example of how to make things easy for people not familiar with Twisted is the way Scrapy defines its plugin interfaces. You never look at a reactor or Deferred or anything - you just define what to do when certain pages are scraped, as callbacks. Alternately, don't worry about it too much. There are plenty of independently developed protocol support plugins that just use Twisted APIs directly; at the layer of implementing transport protocols, most people who can do it effectively have no problem learning Twisted.

Pylint sublime plugin development
It is possible, but utmost difficult. You can try to see if these modules are available as .py files in Sublime Text 2 source code and drop then to PYTHONPATH Pylint reads. If the modules in the question are native modules, Pylint can see only if they are distributed as shared libraries and you point PYTHONPATH/LD_LIBRARY_PATH to this modules. If the modules are embedded inside Sublime Text 2 binary you have little hope to make Pylint understand them (unless you provide hinting by hand). In this case the behavior is operating system specific.

How see maven check style plugin reports in Intellij Idea?
Why don't you use the Idea checkstyle plugin - http://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin?pluginId=1065. It is unrelated to the maven build, but once installed you can just point it to the same checkstyle config file as in the maven plugin. This way you get checkstyle errors/warnings already when you are coding.

How can I debug a Java Google App Engine app in IDEA while using the GAE Maven plugin?
The configuration mentioned in your question looks good. So, you have: <jvmFlags> <jvmFlag>-Xdebug</jvmFlag> <jvmFlag>-agentlib:jdwp=transport=dt_socket,address=8000,server=y,suspend=n</jvmFlag> </jvmFlags> When you run your Maven build mvn appengine:devserver at some point it halts and waits for the remote debugger to connect. In IDEA, go to Run > Edit Configurations... and add a new Remote configuration. Give it a name and check parameters (especially the port). Click OK Run the debugger with Run > Debug '<name of your config>' (Shift-F9)

Run Configuration to Debug Bukkit/Minecraft Plugin in IntelliJ IDEA?
I don't think that there is any possible way to automatically deploy and start the Bukkit server. IntelliJ requires the class with the main method to be defined in the run configuration, which you can't do unless you have the Bukkit source in your project. I'll do some further research, but I've looked into this topic before, and came out empty-handed. What I do as an alternative is make the plugin friendly with reloads, and just run /reload whenever you deploy a new version.

Update an Eclipse plugin to a development version
First, I wouldn't recommend that you just delete all groovy files from the plugins and features directories. This is probably going to muck up your install beyond repair. In fact, at this point, the easiest thing to do is to just start with a fresh Eclipse install and directly re-install from the snapshot update site. However, if you are feeling adventurous, you can undelete the groovy plugins and features. Try installing again and paste the entire error message here. There is a piece of the error message that you are missing. The full conflict description is not there.

doubts related to plugin development for eclipse
What you are describing is a plain OSGi bundle, with no Eclipse-specific features. In terms of the New Plug-in wizard, yours "doesn't contribute to the UI". Technically, it means that it doesn't need plugin.xml. The way your outside code perceives the bundle is just as if it was a regular jar: you can access its classes, instantiate them, and call their methods. Or you can call static methods, just like you are used to. The additional layer provided by OSGi means you can identify which Java packages your bundle exports to its users. Therefore a class which is public, but doesn't reside in an exported package, is not accessible to other bundles (this applies only to the strict mode, however; otherwise you only get an Access Restriction warning).

Variable undefined, (JQuery Plugin Development)
It is really hard to understand what you are trying to achieve, but the way you are currently trying has some problems. You are attempting to set an object's property (defaults.selector) before the object itself (defaults) is defined. In order to get it done, the simplest way is to pull minHeight's definition to other line. Also you might wanna take a look at jQuery's $.extend: (function ($) { $.fn.something = function (options) { var defaults = { selector: '.selector', speed: 200 } defaults.minHeight = $(defaults.selector).height(); console.log(defaults.minHeight); // extend() will set the values of 'options' that are empty with default's var options = $.extend({}, defaults, options); // options.minHeight will

Composer Namespace Collisions in WordPress Plugin Development
I'm not very familar with Composer or the plugin framework you are using, but in general - avoiding function/class name collisions in WordPress plugins is done in the following manner: Assuming that your plugin (e.g. MyCoolPlugin) is written object-oriented, e.g. as a class named MyCoolPlugin, you may include the helper class/library as a subclass of MyCoolPlugin. class_exists(), this is PHPs way of finding if a class has been defined. Assuming your helper class the following: class MyHelperClass{ } You may use the following check before declaring the class in each of your plugins: if(!class_exists('MyHelperClass')){ class MyHelperClass{ } } Of course, there is a trade-off here, because only the first instance of the class will be used throughour WordPress. E.g. if you have

Grails Plugin Development - override domain class
You can do like Spring Security Core plugin does, provide the User class as a template, so your application that use this plugin can choose between creating his own class or installing your default User class. The plugin user template is here, and the script responsible to create this in the application is here. You will need also a config value to know the class to use, and use it dynamic. P.S: there are good security plugins like Shiro and Spring Security, maybe it's easier to check them instead of create your own.

IntelliJ IDEA does not create artifacts from pom.xml
Go to the Maven-Projects-View and click "package" for your aggregator project. IntelliJ will then run Maven which creates all artifacts in the target folder. If you run "install", these artifacts will be copied to the local repository. Maybe you didn't do that under Linux yet, so your repository is empty - under Windows, I suppose that IntelliJ was smart enough to refer to those artifacts while importing the project. I personally do not know of any feature in IntelliJ that would automatically package/install all projects on reimport - I'd consider this rather annyoing.

Is it possible to automatically create a local variable from a method with IDEA
Generally, no, that's the quickest way to do it. Given that the doStuff method already exists, I could do what you described with 6 keypresses in about a second and a half. That's pretty quick, I would think... On the other hand, if it's boilerplate code that you'll be typing over and over, you could consider making a custom Live Template - hit ctrl-j and type something like sout or psvm to see some examples... Good luck!
