i need a list view example program in windows phone 8
Here's the simplest example I could come up with. I've also added handling for contacts without any phone numbers. xaml: <phone:PhoneApplicationPage x:Class="so17564250.MainPage" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:phone="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Phone.Controls;assembly=Microsoft.Phone" FontFamily="{StaticResource PhoneFontFamilyNormal}" FontSize="{StaticResource PhoneFontSizeNormal}" Foreground="{StaticResource PhoneForegroundBrush}" SupportedOrientations="Portrait"> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="Transparent"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/>

long list in c# windows phone.What are the ways to display LISTs in windows phone?
The idea of a ListBox/LongListSelector is to show a list of items that wouldn't fit on the screen at once. The user can scroll through all the items so it sounds like it's doing what you'd expect it to. If each item is too long for your deign plans then you have to change your item template design.

Implement a web server in Windows Phone 8
Sorry but this is not possible. The relevant libraries are not available for a start and also the Phone Framework does not allow the phone to be used as an endpoint. The most you can do is open a socket from within an application as it's running for networking.

Implement Flick Gesture via GestureService from Windows Phone 8
Unfortunately this isn't as trivial as a couple of lines of code on SO since you have to account for the pan while you are holding down the screen and the flick which needs to seamlessly continue on from the pan when the user lifts their finger. A great example of this is actually a darts game since you want the dart to move while you are dragging and then fly off when you release (the flick). You can find a great example with source code at http://windowsphone7developerguide.blograby.com/darts-gesture-listener-flick-gesture/

Windows Phone 8: Load png from gallery
Sadly the answer is no. If the image didn't have transparency in it before you cannot add it. Also (as you have discovered) you only get back an image stream from the media library not the original file itself and the stream only contains the colour data with no transparency. Best option (if the user uses skydrive) is to use the Live/SkyDrive API to download images from the users backups or from the web. Alternatively if you are doing a camera app, have a look at the lenses API or the Nokia Imaging SDK

Why I can't load a 3rd party assembly on windows phone 8?
Two possibilities: - 'AMap.WP7.Map.API.dll , you may not have packaged and deployed OR - 'AMap.WP7.Map.API.dll, the one that is installed on WP8 device, might be fully signed version, which means it does not have public key as null, and you might have linked to an assembly that as public key as null Please check if 'AMap.WP7.Map.API.dll exists on device, if it does, then check its complete strong name, and ensure when you build your XAP you are linking to same assembly as the one that exists on device. Note that even if you are packaging your linked assembly, if it already loaded in memory then CLR will not load, and since you have linked to different strong named assembly the load will fail, hence linking to same strong named assembly will resolve your issue.

SharpDX load a texture in Windows Phone 8
I've figured the problem out. I've switched the order of the lines of loading my texture and loading my shader. This time, the texture loaded correctly, and my shader failed with this error: {SharpDX.Serialization.InvalidChunkException: Unexpected chunk [TKFX/0x58464B54] instead of [TKTX/0x58544B54] at SharpDX.Serialization.BinarySerializer.BeginChunk(FourCC chunkId)} It was expecting TKTX (possibly, toolkit texture) but got TKFX which is a shader. I don't currently have a solution for this misbehavior of ContentManager, but it wasn't about the DDS file.

Windows Phone 7 - can not load certificate in C# code
A certificate contains binary content, you shouldn't use a StreamReader to read it (it's meant to be used only for text). Instead, read directly the content from the stream: var resourceStream = Application.GetResourceStream(new Uri("myCert.der", UriKind.Relative)); var content = new byte[resourceStream.Stream.Length]; resourceStream.Stream.Read(content, 0, content.Length); X509Certificate cert = new X509Certificate(content);

How to create Windows Phone 8 app package for windows store using VS Express 2012 for windows phone?
If I understand correctly, you're hoping to publish a Windows Phone 8 app to the Windows Store (on Windows 8)? Publishing to each store (phone/Windows) is a separate process, requiring different projects, and as you've seen, different versions of Visual Studio Express 2012. There's an helpful Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 App Development Dev Center for guidance on doing this, and a recent article by Doug Holland on "Sharing Code between Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 Applications" that should help as well.

IBM Worklight - $("#pagePort").load() not working in Windows Phone 8
I have done the following in order to make the changePage functionality work in Windows Phone 8. I suspect this change will make many things "suddenly" work as well. This change is supposed to be part of the next jQuery Mobile release at some point in time... Please try it: open jquery.mobile-1.x.x.js and refactor the code as follows: - var uri = url ? this.parseUrl( url ) : location, - hash = this.parseUrl( url || location.href ).hash; + var uri = this.parseUrl( url || location.href ), + hash = uri.hash; and: - return uri.protocol + "//" + uri.host + uri.pathname + uri.search + hash; + return uri.protocol + uri.doubleSlash + uri.host + uri.pathname + uri.search + hash;

Windows Phone 8 application does not load the mainpage.xaml, gets stuck at "loading"
Oh .... it turns out that I ran VS 2012 code analysis on my application code after I was finished and it added a null check in the "CompleteInitializePhoneApplication" method which resulted in this error. In App.xaml, it should be // Do not add any additional code to this method private void CompleteInitializePhoneApplication(object sender, NavigationEventArgs e) { // Set the root visual to allow the application to render if (RootVisual != RootFrame) RootVisual = RootFrame; // Remove this handler since it is no longer needed RootFrame.Navigated -= CompleteInitializePhoneApplication; } But either Resharper or the code analysis added this stupid null check to it which turned it into this: // Do not add any additi

How to make a windows phone application load faster like default applications?
Windows Phone 7 On Windows Phone 7 it's not possible to make a 3rd party app perform like the built-in apps such as People, Pictures, Calendar, Games, Music+Videos, etc. Those apps are mostly likely written in C++ and are natively compiled, have special permission to run in the background (so they resume instantly), and have full OS/hardware access. 3rd party apps (ie. the apps you and I can write) are compiled against the Silverlight platform which is not as performant as natively compiled C++ code, which is why even a simple app with no splash screen and a single TextBlock will take longer to load than, say, the built-in Games app (and not feature the proper entrance animation). So, all you can do is try and make your app startup as fast as possible, given the circumstances. There ar

How to make a web view app for windows phone in Visual Studio?
So what you can do is add a WebBrowser control to your main page. Then set its source equal to the Url you want. If you want to do it in code then you can add the WebBrowser control via XAML then in the form loaded event or what ever event you would like, do WebBrowser.Source = new Uri(@"www.yourSoruce.com"); The WebBrowser control documentation is here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/microsoft.phone.controls.webbrowser(v=vs.105).aspx EDIT The above is to just set the source of the web browser. If you want it to load on launch then you need to put a navigate method in your constructor on your main page webBrowser1.Navigate(new Uri("http://www.bing.com", UriKind.Absolute));

How to add footer to the list box in windows phone 8
I'll go ahead posting the logic as My code might not match with yours So 1 -> Save the server data in an array or a list. 2 -> Design the xaml in a way that the Parent Grid has two or more rows with the last row for the show more. And the one before for the list. (Adjust height accordingly) 3 -> Populate it with a limited amount of data. 4 -> Next use the ListBox.Items.Add(data) method to add the data to the list. Keep sorted property off so that the elements are inserted at the bottom of the list -> Go through the link Add Method for Observable Collections Use step four on the show more button click .. and also adjust the height of the list or put it into a scrollviewer so that limited height scrolling can be done . olease update if further queries

Hello yes the toolkit has been deprecated the other way is I think that you can start using the Windows Azure Mobile Services: http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/mobile/ if you previously have worked on Windows Azure Node JS then you can easily build a new Windows Azure Mobile API that do the required action which is listing the blob and call this API from your Windows Phone application. here is the resources of the NodeJS and how it uses the Windows Azure Blob Storage: http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/nodejs/how-to-guides/blob-storage/ to integrate it with the Mobile Services, just fo to your portal, create new Windows Azure Mobile Services and under API enter the NodeJS Code. here is a link demonstrating how to work with it: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/20

Pull To Refresh with Long List Selector Windows Phone 8
You can accomplish this with the ItemRealized event and using a ListHeader (or ListFooter to pull from bottom). Within the ItemRealized event you check if the item is your header object. If it is then load more items. From the Windows Phone Dev Blog The ItemRealized event is raised every time a LongListSelector item acquires a UI container to be displayed on the screen. In other words, every time an item enters the UI buffers above or below the current viewport, the ItemRealized event is raised. The event argument property ItemKind indicates whether the UI container is an Item, ListHeader, GroupHeader, or ListFooter. Using the property Container.Content you can get the actual object associated with the UI container that was realized. This way you can monitor the objects within the UI

Custom list, moving stuff up automatically after removal in Windows Phone
