align text box and text area at bottom id
I'm not sure that I understand you correctly. But I guess you need to display the textboxes below the text "Other". If that is the case, just try this: <table> <tr> <td> <div style="width:200px;height:300px; position:relative"> <div style="position: absolute; bottom:0px;">Other <input type="text" name="otherlocation"></div> </div> </td> <td> <div style="width:200px;height:300px; position:relative"> <div style="position: absolute; bottom:0px;">Other <input type="textarea" name="locationdescription"/></div> </div> </td> </tr> </table> Fiddle

How to align UILabel text from bottom?
Here are two ways of doing that... 1. First set numberOfLines to 0 and then use sizeToFit property of UILabel so your UILabel display with its contentSize. yourLabel.numberOfLines = 0; [yourLabel sizeToFit]; See more information from this link: Vertically align text within a UILabel 2. Another option is to take UITextField instead of UILabel and set userInteractionEnabled to NO like below... [yourTextField setUserInteractionEnabled:NO]; and then set the contentVerticalAlignment property to bottom like below.... [yourTextField setContentVerticalAlignment:UIControlContentVerticalAlignmentBottom]; UPDATE Also, with UITextField, we can't achieve multiple lines. So instead we can use UITextView and set its userInteractionEnabled to NO. Then, use the code below to make it bottom al

Align Text to Bottom and Enforcing Overflow Hidden
Where you need overflow is on <a> a { display:inline-block; } http://codepen.io/anon/pen/GLidz (see my comment on question about display:table-XX;) If this is not totally what you need , you may set a max-height or height to <a> a { display:inline-block; max-height:2.4em /* average 2 lines 1.2 X 2 */ /* or max-height : height of cell ;*/ overflow:hidden; } A litlle more explanations: table-cell will keep expand vertically , that's how it works. If you set max-height:100%; to a child , and no height for table-cell, it will grow it will be 100% of unknown. If you set an height to table-cell like height:100px, it will grow, but if childs have height or max-height like: 100%, it will be the 100% of those 100px set in CSS file.

How to avoid text wrapping in a td with text and a right-floated label
You need to define a min-width property for your with the class nowrap, like so: td.nowrap { min-width: 129px; } The 129px value was calculated for your fiddle example. Since content inside the table might change, the best way (maybe not the "cleanest" one though) to do this is calculating the required min width of the td at page load and set the min-width value then. In your example Bootstrap makes the first 's width at 300px, so it's quite complex to calculate. I will try to get a jQuery example ready for you later today.

issues when wrapping text around rotated text
I have a solution fou you but its not 100% clean. In my opinion its just not allowed to use negative margin but I can't find another solution. And furthermore you have do define height and width of the element... You have to place the rotaded <span> element into anothe <div>. Then you can position the <div> properly and the text is floating around it. Here the code: HTML: <div class="infoPanel"> <span class="infoPanelVertical"> <div class="spanwrapper"> <span class="infoNumberVertical">148 TEAMS</span> </div> your text here... </span> </div> CSS: .spanwrapper { float: left; height: 157px; position: relative; width: 48px; } .infoNumberVertical { background-co

HTML: <div> <img src="http://www.igta5.com/images/trailer-2-gtav-logo.jpg" alt="GTA V" /> <p> Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the prin

Text in a UILabel isn't wrapping
You need to set numberOfLines for the UILabel to either 0 or whatever number of lines you want it to be. Setting it to 0 will automatically choose the number of lines based on the length of the text. The default is 1. Edit: I just checked and in IB, the property is just called Lines.

Wrapping Text In WebGrid Columns
You use CSS to manage this kind of thing. The WebGrid renders an HTML table so you can declare styles for tables and they will be adopted when the grid renders. There are also some CSS hooks built in to the WebGrid. You can specify the CSS class that the individual table uses through the tableStyle parameter: grid.GetHtml(tableStyle: "myStyle") Or you can apply styles at column level: grid.GetHtml( columns: grid.Columns( grid.Column(("ID"), grid.Column("MyText", style: "wordwrap") ) ) I've written about the WebGrid in detail here: http://www.mikesdotnetting.com/Article/154/Looking-At-The-WebMatrix-WebGrid To get words to wrap using CSS, you need a combination of table-layout: fixed on the table and word-wrap:break-word on the table cell. See here for exampl

GWT - Label not wrapping text properly?
I actually don't think there's a good solution to this; either you only allow breaking at normal points (white spaces) or you can break inside words, but then there's no way to prevent breaking of short words with just CSS. The best suggestion I can give, since links are causing problems, is to shorten links somehow, maybe only display a finite number of characters; if the links are clickable, this shouldn't be a huge problem. Alternatively, you could set a fixed size for the labels or the cells (can still be in %) and use overflow-x to hide any bits of text poking out if there's a really long word that cannot be broken.

Wrapping a text around an image in a Canvas
You can wrap text around an image (rectangle) using canvas transforms (translate+rotate) For example, this is how you rotate the canvas and draw text down the right side of your image: // save the untransformed state of the context ctx.save(); // translate to the top-right corner of the image // ( x/y properties have been added to the standard img element ) ctx.translate(image.x+image.width,image.y); // rotate the canvas 90 degrees (PI/2 radians) ctx.rotate(Math.PI/2); // the canvas is now properly moved and rotated // so we can just draw the text at [0,0] ctx.fillText(subtext,0,0); // restore the context to its untransformed state ctx.restore(); This calculates how many words fit on a side using context.measureText: var end=0; var subtext=""; while(ctx.measureText(text.split(

Preventing text-wrapping inside JavaDoc
The <nobr>-tag is not standard html, so the following is probably "bad style", but it works: /** * [... blah blah ...] It will then call the <nobr><code>onFile...()</code> * </nobr>-methods on the provided event handler to report any changes. * [... blah blah ...] */ It will force the displayed text to instead wrap earlier: ............................... It will then call the onFile...()-methods on the provided event handler to report any changes. Now, I only wish I could define my own "macro-tag", such that I can use <nbc> ... </nbc> instead of <nobr><code> ... </code></nobr>.

Now, to draw a box around it (I'll take the easy route using fixed for demonstration purposes) var div = document.createElement('div'); // make box div.style.border = '2px solid black'; // with outline div.style.position =

text-wrapping program in c does not work correctly
You're never checking the value of i, yet it is indexing into your string array in the wrap function. Here is where the i value grows into the 1000's on my machine before crashing. I would recommend putting it on a debugger, simplifying your code, or at least check the variable that indexes into your string buffer to ensure it is not past the end of the buffer. HTH! EDIT Since you asked, I'll show you how I debugged this, just a little, on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. From the shell, file called sotest.c # use the -g for debug info gcc -g sotest.c -o sotest # invoke the gnu debugger gdb sotest You'll see: GNU gdb (Ubuntu/Linaro 7.4-2012.04-0ubuntu2.1) 7.4-2012.04 Copyright (C) 2012 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
