Visual Basic Editor in 2013
Just press Alt + F11. That will open the VBE in any Excel version. Also, I see no reason that it should not open. I tried it just now on my computer and it works fine (using the developer tab). Most probably you have a problem of some sorts with your "installation" of Office 2013.

Can you change the default Visual Basic Editor for Excel
The answer is no. The VBE is attached and inseparable from Excel. Therefore you cannot replace it with another IDE. The VBE is customizable (just a little though). Play with it by going into Tools » Options Here's just a quick snapshot of what you can change to make it look more friendly and familiar to your original development tool.

Parse table using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word, get only text from first column?
I don't know how you would like to store it in your database, but to read the text I think you could loop out the rows and pick the first column in each: foreach (Table tb in docs.Tables) { for (int row = 1; row <= tb.Rows.Count; row++) { var cell = tb.Cell(row, 1); var text = cell.Range.Text; // text now contains the content of the cell. } }

Enable built-in Microsoft Word button controls with Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word
Possible solutions of your problems: Ad 1. but first, you need to open your documents with ReadOnly: false while,according to both C# and VBA test it will not work when you set parameters to ReadOnly: true: ((Word._Document)diffDocument).Windows.CompareSideBySideWith(originalDocument); Ad 2. this time you need to refer to window object of Word Application. Here is code for active window: appWRD.ActiveWindow.View.SplitSpecial = Word.WdSpecialPane.wdPaneRevisionsVert; where: appWRD is Word.Application in my code. Ad 1 again. (one above was a result of misunderstanding). According to some test this code should give you what you need: appWRD.ActiveWindow.ShowSourceDocuments = Word.WdShowSourceDocuments.wdShowSourceDocumentsBoth;

The cursor will be bigger as long as it is taller, and it is taller as long as the font size is bigger. So an alternative is to change the font size: Select Options from the Tools menu and in Environment folder, select Fonts and Colors. In Show settings for, select Text Editor. Change the font, size, display item, foreground and background colors.

How to set Color for the text box in visual basic Word macro
You are not having any success with the color for your text box possibly for two reasons. Firstly, you create your text box correctly using the shapes object but then you when you set the colour you use Me.TextBox1. Since you have created the object using the Box variable it is better to use this variable to set the colour. The second problem is that the Shape object uses the Fill property to set the colour. Therefore you simply need to use the following code after creating the Box: Box.Fill.ForeColor = &HFF& Box.Fill.BackColor = &H8000000D

Visual Basic, How to Modify text inside a file in the Resouces
You shouldn't try to modify the resources at runtime. If you need to change this, a good option is to extract the resources and save them on disk (ie: in the user's AppData folder). You can then use (and modify) the file as needed. Trying to modify the resource in the assembly itself will likely 1) fail due to permission issues at deployment, and 2) get your program flagged as a virus by nearly every virus scanner.

Visual basic text fields data to MS Word document
To get your code to work You would need to index the Fields collection To index the Fields COllection you have to use a number (a Long), not a text value But to do that, you have to know what number to use. But what type of field are you trying to replace? Is it a REF field? If it is your choice and you need to use fields, you may be better off using { DOCVARIABLE } fields and setting the values of the corresponding Variables. Or, if you only need to support Windows Word 2007 and later, it might be better to use Content Controls linked to custom XML.

How can I get specific items from text file? Visual Basic 2010
You're calling MsgBox(item) outside of the if statement that determines whether the current word contains the current character. Which means it's going to pop up for every letter, every word. Move MsgBox(item) inside the first half of the if statement if you only want it to show when the letter is actually found in the word. I'd also suggest following Steven Doggart's advice and reversing the way the loops are nested. If the characters are the outer loop, you could get the message box multiple times per word (e.g., if your letters are "sdf" and one of the words is "foods," it will pop up 3 times). For Each item In hash For i = 0 To Letters.Length - 1 OneCharacter = Letters.Substring(i, 1) If item.Contains(OneCharacter) Then Found = True AllChar

Microsoft Office Hyperlink Issues
This is likely due to the behavior https://github.com/spilliton/fix_microsoft_links is designed to fix. Basically this is because when Office products try to open a link, they open it internally, follow any redirects, and analyse the resulting document to see if it can be opened with an Office application. When the link needs to be opened with a browser, they forward on the final url (result of a redirect) to the browser, which in your case is the login page. When opened in the browser, it notices we are already logged in and redirects to wherever your application goes in that case, possibly the login page

using Microsoft.Office.Interop Word and Excel
You should not use Office automation in a server. Only one thread can access Word at a time, it's very slow relative to other options, and Word is not made for server-side execution. Much better to use OpenXML SDK: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5124 Or some other wrapper: http://docx.codeplex.com/ http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/87711/Manipulate-Docx-with-C-without-Microsoft-Word-inst If you feel you absolutely must use Office automation on a server (and you shouldn't), then at least put it in a separate process and enque requests to the other process. That way you can ensure only one request is being processed at a time, you can safely grant the other process the permissions needed, and if Word halts you can kill it and the secondary process.

Microsoft Office interop perfomance issue
I have a few suggestions to improve the performance. Singly they may not have much impact, but together they should improve overall performance. Hide Excel (if it isn't already) EXL.Visible = false;. Turn off Calculation (Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual, if it isn't needed) and ScreenUpdating as well. Use Excel.Workbooks.Worksheets rather than the Sheets collection. Rather than looping through all the worksheets, try to reference the one you want, using error-handling to determine if the sheet exists: Excel.Worksheet worksheet = (Excel.Worksheet)workbook.Worksheets["SheetName"]; Avoid Select, it is rarely necessary - and slow. Replace, //Select all cells, and clear the contents Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Range myAllRange = worksheet.Cells; myAllRange.Select(); myAl

Rich Text Editor (YUI Simple Text Editor used) not sending data to next page
The saveHTML() method you used does not seem to save the value to the textarea element. And because the browser doesn't care about YUI Editor and just submits what is there already in the textarea (which is null), it submits the input as null.. You should set the value of the textarea to the editor value so the browser will submit that value instead of null.. Which can be achieved using this little line: document.getElementsById("msgpost").value = html; See this working JsFiddle I made for you. However you had HTML syntax errors too. The onSubmit attribute should be on the form element not the submit button. And listening to the event is not practical when you can simply call a function when the form submits.. (See the JsFiddle)

How to link array of records in a text file to a grid of buttons in visual basic 2010
This is not an exact answer, but should give you some idea of where to go. For starters, I would create a class to hold the information for each seat, like this: Public Class Seat Public Property SeatID As Integer Public Property SeatType As String Public Property SeatPrice As Decimal Public Property SeatAvailability As String End Class Next, I would use the Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileIO.TextFieldParser class to do the parsing, and build a List(Of Seat) list with the data, like this: Dim List(Of Seat) seatList As New List(Of Seat) Using parser As TextFieldParser = New TextFieldParser("seatingplan.txt") parser.Delimiters = New String() { vbTab } While Not parser.EndOfData Dim fields As String() = parser.ReadFields() seatList.Add(New Seat() W

How to use Microsoft Office 2013 javascript API in standalone script
You can run JavaScript code on Windows without a browser using Windows Script Host. I believe by default .js files are associated with wscript.exe, which runs the script without a console. You can also run them with access to a console via cscript.exe, e.g.: cscript.exe /nologo yourfile.js You can then get access to Office via ActiveXObject, e.g.: var excel = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application"); That gives you access to the COM API.

Is Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel included in .NET Framework?
A reference will need to be added and the end user will need to have a way to interact with the Microsoft Office calls in order to use the calls. The same goes for developing on a workstation with office and then deploying to a server that does not have the office suite. It is good habit to avoid using those just because you never know what you will be allowed to move/install to the "live" environment when the time comes. You can however have your program write the file in xml and save it with a .xls extension. This is a little more work but will allow the code to run and will allow users with Excel to open. Using xml to format the file

How to read the fill pattern in Excel using Microsoft.Office.Interop
Interior.Pattern is accessible from a Range object. The Range interface/object contains all the style and value information for the range. The Style property of the Range object refers to Styles that are definied at workbook level ("shared" styles). From MSDN: The Style object contains all style attributes (font, number format, alignment, and so on) as properties. There are several built-in styles, including Normal, Currency, and Percent. Using the Style object is a fast and efficient way to change several cell-formatting properties on multiple cells at the same time. In your case (where the styles seems to be definied at cell level and not by using a "shared" style), you just need to replace: Dim r As Range = wks.Cells(j, k) Dim s As Style = r.Style If s.Interior.Pattern
