How to make Gradle stop trying to chmod MANIFEST.MF on an NTFS drive
Gradle is trying to set default permissions for that file, and I can't see a way to stop it from doing that. (You could make it set different permissions, but I guess that won't help.) Under Windows/NTFS this normally works just fine, so it might be a problem with you Linux NTFS driver or configuration.

EPERM, operation not permitted error, config store
It worked for me to delete the .yml file inside the configstore which was causing the problem. In my case it was "update-notifier-bower.yml", in yours it is probably "insight-yo.yml". After a reinstallation of bower (npm -g install bower) the file reappeared, but this time it caused no harm. It has also been reported that the deactivation of the anti-virus software solved the issue.

"Operation not permitted" error when creating BitNami Django project
Turns out I was attempting to create my project in the wrong folder. If you're using the BitNami Mac App Store version, as I was, projects must be created in the following location: ~/shared/django/django_projects More details about creating projects using the App Store version of the BitNami Django stack can be found here. If you're not using the App Store version, or are running the Windows or Linux version, you can find more details on creating your project here. (And, for reference' sake, the thread wherein my problem was resolved can be found here.)

Reading /dev/cpu/*/msr from userspace: operation not permitted
Changes in the mainline Linux kernel since around 3.7 now require an executable to have capability CAP_SYS_RAWIO to open the MSR device file [2]. Besides loading the MSR kernel module and setting the appropriate file permissions on the msr device file, one must grant the CAP_SYS_RAWIO capability to any user executable that needs access to the MSR driver, using the command below: sudo setcap cap_sys_rawio=ep <user_executable>

Handlebars compile operation not permitted
this is a permission problem. Probably that your node process don't have the right permission to read the files or write in the destination folder. You could force it with sudo, but that's no really a solution. So check the permission and make sure the node process has access to writing and reading on the related directory/files. You can google chmod and chown for instruction on how to change permissions. (I can't help you any further without more detail on your system architecture)

"Operation not permitted on IsolatedStorageFileStream" while writing a file
I found your error brother. Actually, the cause of error is not IsolatedStorageFileStream but the innocent looking string FileName. I suppose you are generating FIleName as string FileName = "some_random_string"+DateTime.Now.ToString("hh:mm"); or whatever format of datetime you are using. Put a breakpoint on this line. You will find the FileName value contains a character ':' ....WHICH IS VERY VERY BAD naming. Hence the error. Try to name the file other way. But this IsolatedStorageFileStream constructor bugs me very much. So I use another way. I am using method of IsolateStorage stream to open file. Look at the code using (IsolatedStorageFile myIsolatedStorage = IsolatedStorageFile.GetUserStoreForApplication()) { if (myIsolatedStorage.FileExists(FileName)) {

windows phone 7 isolated storage - operation not permitted
The CreateFile method returns a stream to the created file, and keeps it open. Therefore, when you try to open a stream to that same file in the next line, it throws an exception because the file is already locked. You can rewrite your code as follows: private void hasHighscores() { String fileName = "hsc.txt"; using (var isoStorage = IsolatedStorageFile.GetUserStoreForApplication()) { if (!isoStorage.FileExists(fileName)) { using (var isoStream = isoStorage.CreateFile(fileName)) { using (var fileStream = new StreamWriter(isoStream)) { fileStream.WriteLine("n1:666,n2:777,n3:888,h1:666,h2:777,h3:888"); } }

Twitter message posting issue ( Request failed with error: Error Domain=HTTP Code=410 "The operation couldn’t be completed. in ios app
It's not clear if you are using the iOS Twitter functionality, or another framework (but the oAuth makes me think it's another framework). The Twitter V1 API has been deprecated and retired. You should now use the 1.1 version: https://dev.twitter.com/blog/api-v1-is-retired This means the URI should have 1.1 in it, as opposed to just "1". https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1 I would try updating the framework you are using, or perhaps switching to the built in Twitter functionality, which streamlines the authentication process if the user has a Twitter account on their phone.

Why is Xamarin Studio saying "version control operation failed due to unmerged path error" when I try to update my solution?
Have you tried using the github desktop tool itself and selecting ok. It will tell you more and allow you to fix the changes. My guess is that you have conflicts in your code with the changes already stored on github. Are you the only one working on this project? If not it most likely means someone else has changed those pieces and pushed them. Again use the github application, it is free, to see what is going on. I do not use the built in github interface. I had initial issue with it and just went back to my favorite. Using the external tool also makes it easier to manage if using other dev environments.

What is the restful way to represent a resource clone operation in the URL?
Since there is no copy or clone method in HTTP, it's really up to you what you want to do. In this case a POST seems perfectly reasonable, but other standards have taken different approaches: WebDAV added a COPY method. Amazon S3 uses PUT with no body and a special x-amz-copy-source header. They call this a PUT Object - Copy. Both of these approaches assume that you know the destination URI. Your example seems to lack a known destination uri, so you pretty much must use POST. You can't use PUT or COPY because your creation operation is not idempotent. If your service defines POST /resources as "create a new resource", then why not simply define another way to specify the resource other than as the body of the POST? E.g. POST /resources?source=/resources/10 with an empty body.

First, if you are cloning with GitHub for Windows, then the latest msysgit is included in it: you just need to open a shell from G4W. Second, if the issue persists (from an independent up-to-date msysgit, or from G4W), then it should be some connection issue (network, firewall, blocked port...)

A small number of repositories may be affected. So first check if the cloning problem persists with an https url: git clone https://github.com/MyAccount/MyRepository If the problem persists, then you need to contact GitHub support, asking them for a git fsck, as in this question.

APNS SSL operation failed with code 1
When you do: fwrite($fp, $msg); you are trying to write to the socket. If something goes wrong, fwrite will return false or 0 (depending on the php version) as the return value. When it happens, you must manage it. You have two possibilities: discard the entire operation try again the last write operation if you choose the second option, you have to do a new fwrite($fp, $msg) with THE SAME $fp and $msg of the failed fwrite() operation. If you change the parameters, a 1409F07F:SSL error is returned Moreover, there are situations where the fwrite fails at writing only "some bytes", you should manage even this situation, comparing the returned value with the lenght of $msg. In this case, you should send the remaining part of the message, but in some situations you have to send the who

git clone fetches HEAD but git pull does not fetch the latest HEAD after Merge Push operation on a Gerrit Repo
Ok I am answering my own question here. In my opinion what might have happened is that link to remotes (references to remote repositories i.e. do git branch -a. The branches that begin with "remotes/*" is what I am referring here) remained "stale" for some reason I do not understand. Before my suggestion as a quick check try these steps: git status should throw message # On branch master # Your branch is ahead of 'origin/master' by X commit(s). # blah blah blah... when I see this message my instinct is to do a push git push remote master ...in this case I was working on master, for which I get Everything up-to-date which maybe confusing and I go and do a git status for which the same message reappears: # On branch master # Your branch is ahead of 'origin/master' by X commit(s

The operation failed: The relationship could not be changed because one or more of the foreign-key properties is non-nullable
I think the problem lies in this code block: currency.CurrencyPrice = new List<CurrencyPrice> { new CurrencyPrice {Id = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), EntryDate = DateTime.Now, Value = price,CurrencyId = currency.Id,Currency = currency} }; Here you create a new CurrencyPrice and assign it to a Currency, thereby orphaning the CurrencyPrice object that was assigned to this Currency before. This object is now still in the database, but without a parent. Thus EntityFramework wants to set the parent's ID on this CurrencyPrice to NULL which the database prevents resulting in the error you quoted. I have posted a more detailed explanation of this problem in this answer. To prevent this, remove the old CurrencyPrice from your database before adding the new one. Alternatively, since it se

How to get to last NTFS MFT record?
The MFT location isn't always fixed on the volume. You should get the starting MFT offset from the boot sector (sector 0 of the volume, you can find the structure online). The first file in the MFT is the "$MFT" file which is the file record for the entire MFT itself. You can parse the attributes of this file like any other file and get it's data run list. When you know the size of each fragment in clusters, parse the last cluster for each 1024 byte record of the last fragment (although I believe a fragmented MFT is rare). The last record in the MFT is the last record in that particular cluster marked "FILE0", if you encounter a null magic number that would be 1024 bytes too far. Or you can just get the file size from it's attributes and calculate the offset to the end of the MFT based o

First of all, you should use $('a#modify1'), since modify1 is ID and not class. You are running showModal, without checking if load method completed, and so it couldnt find any <form> to clone. Try putting showModal as a callback to the load function: $('a#modify').click(function() { $('#formContainer).load('getuserupdateform.php?user_id=X', function(){ return showModal($(#formContainer)); }); }); This way, showModal will run ONLY when the load request has completed. NTFS vs. File Share
Short answer: No. In Windows each file and directory has an ACL controlling access to it. Each file share also has an ACL controlling access to the share. When you access a remote file through a share you are doing so using the credentials used to login to the local computer. (You can connect using different credentials by entering a username/password when connecting). The remote computer tests the supplied credentials against the ACL on the share. Once you are past that, then every file you attempt to access on the remote machine through this connection will be checked using your credentials against the ACL on the file and the share. This allows a file share to offer more restricted access to some files than if the same user were attempt to access them locally. (So you could share file

NTFS - file record size
It's not actually that much of a waste. You should try to look at what happens when the number of attributes stored in the file record exceeds 1 KB. (by adding additional file names, streams, etc.) It is not clear (to me at least) for different versions of NTFS if the additional attributes are stored in the data section of the volume or in another File Record. In previous versions of NTFS the size of a MFT File Record was equal to the size of a cluster (generally 4KB) which was a waste of space since sometimes all the attributes would take less than 1 KB of space. Since NT 5.0 (I may be wrong), after some research, Microsoft decided that all MFT File Records should be 1KB. So, one reason for storing that number may be backwards compatibility. Imagine you found an old hard drive which stil

NTFS Journal USN_REASON_HARD_LINK_CHANGE event
As always with the USN, I expect you'll need to go through a bit of trial and error to get it to work right. These observations/guesses may, I hope, be helpful: When the last hard link to a file is deleted, the file is deleted; so if the last hard link has been removed you should see USN_REASON_FILE_DELETE instead of USN_REASON_HARD_LINK_CHANGE. I believe that each reference number refers to a file (or directory, but NTFS doesn't support multiple hard links to directories AFAIK) rather than to a hard link. So immediately after the event is recorded, at least, the file reference number should still be valid, and point to another name for the file. If the file still exists, you can look it up by reference number and use FindFirstFileNameW and friends to find the current links. Comparin
