Freeze panes in a HTML table
What you could do instead is use the <thead> to segment your <th> tags. Then you could use either absolute of fixed positioning to have that section float above the others. Here is an example: HTML <thead> <tr> <th>Name</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Email</th> <th>Mobile</th> <th>IMEI</th> <th>Phone</th> <th>Message</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> ... </tbody> CSS thead { display: block; position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100% z-index: 100; } You may also need to add some padding to the top of the <tbody> tag so that the frozen row does not sit over top of

Emacs rearrange split panes
There are certainly libraries for transforming a frame's window configuration (flip, rotate, etc...), and other libraries for rotating the visible buffers through the available windows. Combining those would achieve your aim. I like TransposeFrame for the former, and I can see at least a couple of options for the latter: https://github.com/banister/window-rotate-for-emacs http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/TransposeWindows In general, CategoryWindows on the Wiki should be useful to you. Note that the window configuration transforms do need to delete and re-create the splits, so the original window objects do not all survive the process. In that respect, it's not actually possible to do what you're asking; but for most purposes, 'faking it' is sufficient.

JPanel above JLabel using Layered Panes
From the Java Tutorial: layeredPane.add(dukeLabel, new Integer(2), 0); This code uses the three-argument version of the add method. The third argument specifies the Duke label position within its depth, which determines the component's relationship with other components at the same depth. Positions are specified with an int between -1 and (n - 1), where n is the number of components at the depth. Unlike layer numbers, the smaller the position number, the higher the component within its depth. Using -1 is the same as using n - 1; it indicates the bottom-most position. Using 0 specifies that the component should be in the top-most position within its depth. As the following figure shows, with the exception of -1, a lower position number indicates a higher position within a depth.

How to drag and drop tab nodes between tab panes
Thank you very much for this, it works basically well. However, when dragging to the first / upper tabpane from the second one, the content of the tab does not get refreshed, you need to change the tab or move the split divider. The second / lower tabpane does always refresh correctly. I have not found a remedy for this so far, asking the tabpane to do a refresh does not work. I would really appreciated if I could find a solution for this. Edit: found a working solution In the setOnDragDropped event handler I commented the line that selects the added tab, then added the following code: Platform.runLater(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { tabPane.getSelectionModel().select(tab) ; } }); now it works. Thanks again Edit 2: I'm sorry that I have to report tha

How to hide other panels or panes during coding [SOLVED]
I have the same issue. Among other reasons, my solution was to create separate classes per view. So my frame would be its own class, it would maybe have a TabbedPanel (or whatever it's called), and then I would have a new class for each tab on that tabbed panel. Each class would extend JPanel so I could plop it right in there. That way not only is your gui design not cluttered up, but your code logic is separated into separate files, where it might belong anyway.

Handle moving with CSplitterWindowImpl and invalidate child panes
You typically don't need to invalidate explicitly because splitter moves child windows and they receive regular messages like WM_SIZE causing UI updates. The question itself suggests that something is incorrect with child windows. You certainly can overwrite splitter's UpdateWindow to handle end of splitter repositioning, but you don't normally need to do it. Splitter itself invalidates itself applies SetWindowPos to panes in its helper UpdateSplitterLayout method, which you can step through with debugger to make sure this code is being executed. LRESULT OnMouseMove(UINT /*uMsg*/, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam, BOOL& bHandled) { // [...] if(m_bFullDrag) { if(pT->SetSplitterPos(xyNewSplitPos, true)) pT->UpdateWindow(

Eclipse wasted white space on multiple panes
I've dealt with this on numerous occasions and still occurs on Juno. If you open two files in the order: ITest.java, Test.java and drag the second/rightmost file (Test.java) to create the split the whitepace will be created (as your picture). The fix is to drag the first/leftmost file (ITest.java) to create the split and then the whitespace is not created.

Add custom editor windows to Visual Studio window panes
You need to register a tool window with your package extension; this can be done via the ProvideToolWindow attribute. The following article contains all the required information on how an editor can be hosted in a tool window: http://bit.ly/9VWxPR Take a look at the WpfTextViewHost class; the article explains that this type is actually an UIElement, so I imagine that it´s possible to host multiple instances of it...

2 Dojo Dijit Content Panes Side by Side - When Showing/Hiding one, the other will not resize dynamically
Use a dijit/layout/BorderContainer, place the 2 contentpanes inside it, setting one of the 2 containers' region property to "center" and the other one to "right". When you want to resize one of the contentpanes, call their "resize" method with an object containing the "w" property. After calling resize on the contentpane, call "layout" on the border container. Example : require([ "dijit/layout/BorderContainer", "dijit/layout/ContentPane", "dijit/form/Button", "dojo/domReady!" ], function(BorderContainer, ContentPane, Button){ var container = new BorderContainer({ design : "headline", gutters : false }, "container"); var pane1 = new ContentPane({ region : "center", id : "pane1" }); var pane2 = new ContentPane({ region

PHP Mail freeze
Try to debug by making php to show the error logs. You can use below code by placing it at top of your php code as: <?php error_reporting(-1); ?> Another thing i noticed in your email sending code is that it does not contain headers. Headers are necessary for an email functionality to work properly. <?php $to = "testing@example.com"; $subject = "Test mail"; $message = "This is a test email message."; $from = "testing1@example.com"; $headers = "From:" . $from; if(mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers)){ echo "Mail is Sent."; }else{ echo "Mail not sent."; } ?>

How can an App freeze Android OS
Where is your code sample above located? It should be be on a UI thread, potentially blocking user interaction. Are you also getting ANR messages before the freeze? thread.join(); will block indefinitely. See Thread.join() documentation. Also, the following looks like a busy loop to me. What are you doing at the comment? If nothing, then the loop will spin like crazy (think while (true) { }). while(thread.getState() != Thread.State.TERMINATED){ // wait until thread finishes }

c# WPF UI freeze after using MemoryStream
It is a little bit late, but I would like to add some more information. The problem is that you are using a synchronous call which uses the UI thread, unlike all other synchronous calls, this call takes some time, and therefore, your application is frozen until the call will finish. You need to use an asynchronous call, so that your UI thread will be free, so the UI will not be frozen. There are many ways to make an asynchronous calls, such as opening a new task, thread, or my preferable way, is to use the async await, which is very great - you can write a synchronous code, and to add async and await in the right places, and woops - it is an asynchronous code! To read more about async await click here.

When you do heavy task you should run them in another threads rather in the same as gui. If you run in Event Dispatch Thread then the gui is gonna freeze until finish. Why does this graphics loop freeze my gui?
The problem is that it's infinite. Your condition: canvasY < mapHeight + offsetY && canvasX < mapWidth + offsetX Will always be false, since none of those values ever change. What I believe you want to do is to call these after the draw call. canvasY = offsetY + y; canvasX = offsetX + x;

How to freeze a HashMap to prevent further changes?
The best you can do with standard JDK libraries is Collections.unmodifiableMap(). Note that you must drop the original map reference, because that reference can still be accessed and changed normally. If you passed the old reference to any other objects, they still will be able to change your map. Best practice: map = Collections.unmodifiableMap(map); and make sure you didn't share the original map reference.

JS Causing browsers to freeze
You are running a multitude of setInterval() calls, so the event queue gets crowded with your function. I think, what you mean is more like setTimeout() at the end of your function. function countdownProcedure(){ // all your logic setTimeout(countdownProcedure, interval); }; The difference is, that setInterval() will run your code every x seconds, until you tell it to stop. setTimeout() on the other hand, just runs your code once after x seconds.

UIActivityViewController freeze in first time
I don't really understand the problem - you alloc/init a UIActivityViewController and then you present it with presentViewController:animated:completion, correct? Make sure to call the presentViewController... on the main thread. Sometimes UI stuff called on the wrong thread takes seconds to get executed. But it might also just be iOS - UIActivityViewController takes some time to check for available services and stuff, that might be the thing that's slowing it down too.

How to freeze and invert animation in ViewPager?
I have never done that before, but my guess would be to create your own CustomViewPager and make it do the new features for you. This is the link to the method of the ViewPager that handles which page is to be displayed next. how to freeze table header using javascript
Easiest answer, check this out -> http://www.imaputz.com/cssStuff/bigFourVersion.html One caveat: Does not work for IE 7-9 (Does work for 6 and 10). If you need a solution for 7-9, try jQuery Scrollable Table Plugin. You can even set it up to only use the JS for IE versions 7-9 by placing the javascript call for it inside IE if comments. Then you'd know anyone using a better browser would be using pure CSS (faster) and you'd have a solution for those using crap ... i mean IE 7,8, or 9. It basically has to do with the CSS. One key is setting table-body to display: block. Another issue is going to be in dealing with fixed widths. Just check it out. It's REALLY easy to copy that example. Really not much more I can say! This example is PURE CSS, no JS! jsFiddle CSS /* define height a

iOS sqlite3_step hold / freeze after last row data
There are two explanations for the delay; one or both might apply: All the records that match are at the beginning of the Configuration table. After the last matching record, SQLite still has to search through all the remaining records, but none matches. SQLite creates a temporary index on the model_id column because it estimates that the query would be even slower without it. After the query has finished, that index must be deleted again; what you see is the time needed to synchronize at the end of the (automatic) transaction. Create an index on the model_id column will help avoiding both of these points. If possible, you should try to merge the subquery (in configurationsIdStr) into the outer query; instead of: ... ConfigurationSpec.configuration_id IN ( SELECT configu

WPF C# application will freeze my whole computer ever 2-3 times I run it
While I don't see any reason for this to lock up your entire computer, I do see a couple of reasons for the application to potentially hang... Your while loop inside of your SSL server will never break unless your client writes '<EOF>' to the stream; which you would have to force it to do. I would likely do something similar to this: while(( bytesRec = oSSLStream.Read(bytes,0,bytes.Length)) > 0 ) { // Compare input & break } -- The while loop you have now ( without a thread sleep ) will consume all of your systems resources waiting for ... something that may never occur. In a related issue - I note that your 'DoWork' method launches the listener - but does not start a new thread for this listener. This means that the listener is running inside of your interface threa

Swing GUI freeze when connecting to ftp server
BackSlash's comment is right on. you should avoid executing code in the GUI thread precisely because it "freezes" the UI until the code finishes. In your case connecting to a remote server is a potentially lengthy operation, that's why you see the UI hang. You should familiarise yourself with the Swing Thread Model, the Event Dispatch Thread (EDT) and related concepts. Start in Oracle's own documentation, and may I suggest the first chapters of the book Filthy Rich Clients, a great book for rich client applications with introductory chapters on all things Swing. Now for your question, you create a new class extending SwingWorker and implement doInBackground and done. doInBackground is executed outside the EDT so it will not block your UI, and done is called once the task is completed. How to freeze the last frame of an animation in a SurfaceView?
I think that one of two things are happening, first (very unlikely) you might be accidentally drawing the last frame of the animation repeatedly, IF NOT, then it means that your SurfaceView is not being invalidated by any change on the view hence keeping cached the last buffer of pixels showed, in order to test it, set a button on the screen and when the SurfaceView gets "frozen" tap on button and make the button itself gone, so you will force a redraw over all the elements on the screen, if the animation dissapears mean that it was actually being cached... Regards!
