How to show item in dropdownlist as being selected when we have corresponding datatextfield from gridview selected row
Selected value does not work in this way. Try this: ddEquipmentName.SelectedIndex = ddEquipmentName.Items.IndexOf(ddEquipmentName.Items.FindByText(selectRow.Cells[2].Text));

How to properly call Javascript Function from Gridview Selected Index Changed
Without code I'm not sure your implementation, but here's what I'd do: LinkButton, like Button has an OnClientClick property that you can set to call client-side JavaScript before running the PostBack. But you don't have access to this when you are using a CommandField. First, convert your CommandField (the one with the Select button) to a TemplateField. You should then be given a LinkButton or Button, which you can then set the OnClientClick property for. I think this would be a lot simpler than doing registerscripts, etc.

but you are assigning to TextBox (TextBox)grdSale.Rows[Index_Next] .FindControl("txtDisplay") = Val_Next.ToString(); which is wrong in first place, as Left side is System.Web.UI.WebContols.TextBox and right side is String . You should try and set the Text of Found TextBox. You should be doing ((TextBox)grdSale.Rows[Index_Next] .FindControl("txtDisplay")).Text = Val_Next.ToString();

How do I use a DropDownList in a Gridview Edit Template when the selected value does not mirror sql data?
You don't need to do this in code; the ListItem has both a Text and a Value property: <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlDay" runat="server" SelectedValue='<%# Bind("Day") %>'> <asp:ListItem Value="1" Text="Monday" /> <asp:ListItem Value="2" Text="Tuesday" /> <asp:ListItem Value="3" Text="Wednesday" /> <asp:ListItem Value="4" Text="Thursday" /> <asp:ListItem Value="5" Text="Friday" /> <asp:ListItem Value="6" Text="Saturday" /> <asp:ListItem Value="7" Text="Sunday" /> </asp:DropDownList> The SelectedValue will return the day number, and the list will display the day name.

FormView to refer different data sources in asp.net
What I have done is simply bind that element (label in your case, textbox in mine) to another (in my case) sqlDataSource. So the control would get the data from the sdstbInfo, then when I want to write data back, I use the UpdateParameters of the sqlSomething and do it in the code behind. in the aspx code say "Title" is from a sql datasource called sdsTbInfo <EditItemTemplate> <asp:TextBox id="someUNIQUEid" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Title") %>' /> . . Then when you want to get the new data from that same control and pass it to a different datasource.... private void onButtonClick() { //first find the control you want TextBox tb = fvForm.FindControl["txtBoxWithNewInfo"]; //then pass it's value to the sql datasources update command sdsSomething.UpdateParameter("t

How do I show a selected date data from a SQL Server database in a DataGridView?
Since you don't have a WHERE clause in your query its very obvious that it will fetch all data from the database. SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter("select currDate,WtrNm,Type,No from WtrTblAllot", con); Add WHERE clause to your query if you want to fetch only specific records form the database table.

Unable to initiate jquery autocomplete after FormView.ChangeMode in ASP.NET Dynamic Data application
I found a solution for my problem. I initiated the autocomplate using the id of the textbox: $("input[id$='<%= txtCustomerName.ClientID %>']").autocomplete({...}); I changed this to a certain css class I set on the textbox, in this case artworkcopylookup. When I intiaite the autocomplete I use the css class to select my textbox: $("input[class$='artworkcopylookup']").autocomplete({...}); Instead of searching for the previously loaded texbox on id, the script searches for any input with the correct class set. This way the newly loaded texbox is found and everything works like a charme.

Getting row of selected DropDownList in GridView cells
You can find the grid view row by finding the grandparent (.Parent.Parent) of your drop down list, because the drop down list is within a cell of the row, which is a part of the row itself, so you need to go two levels up, like this: protected void chooseThemeTypeDropDown_OnSelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { DropDownList chooseThemeTypeDropDown = sender as DropDownList; if (chooseThemeTypeDropDown != null) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(chooseThemeTypeDropDown.SelectedItem.Value.ToString()); GridViewRow row = (GridViewRow)chooseThemeTypeDropDown.Parent.Parent; } }

Changing color of selected row in asp.net gridview
GridViewRow is a control. Like every object on the page, it will be created during the page life cycle. The reference you hold in Session is to the object created during the last request. To solve the problem, keep only the index(or key) of the row in Session and use that to change the color of previous row. protected void btn_GrdClick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if(Session["PreviousRowIndex"] != null) { var previousRowIndex = (int)Session["PreviousRowIndex"]; GridViewRow PreviousRow = MyGridView.Rows[previousRowIndex]; PreviousRow.ForeColor = Color.White; } GridViewRow row = (GridViewRow)((Button)sender).NamingContainer; row.ForeColor = Color.Yellow; Session["PreviousRowIndex"] = row.RowIndex; }

Getting pre-selected Text in dropdown in EditItemTemplate gridview
Right now, you're populating the DropDownList with options from a datasource. However, you're not binding it's selected value to anything. Whatever you are doing to bind the other fields in your Gridview, do that for the DropDownList's SelectedValue as well. Without seeing the rest of your GridView markup, I'm thinking something like this should work: <EditItemTemplate> <asp:DropDownList ID="droplist" runat="server" SelectedValue='<%# Bind("UnitID") %>' > </asp:DropDownList> </EditItemTemplate> Where "UnitID" above is the name of the field from your GridView's datasource that you want to bind to the SelectedValue of the DropDownList.

filter gridview based on dropdownlist selected value
You are not showing where you initialize idTeacher. However, you have to DataBind the GridView in ASP.NET after you have assigned the DataSource: GridView1.DataSource = table; GridView1.DataBind(); // <-- this is missing in your code You should use sql-parameters anyway, otherwise you are potentially open for sql-injection and you should use the using statement to ensure that all unmanaged resources are disposed (even on error): using (var con = new OleDbConnection("ConnectionString")) using (var da = new OleDbDataAdapter("select * from teacher where idteacher=@idTeacher", con)) { da.SelectCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue("@idteacher", idTeacher); DataTable table = new DataTable(); da.Fill(table); // opening or closing connection not needed, done by Fill GridView1.D

Finding what's selected in HubSection GridView DataTemplate
Most of the advice regarding this issue centres on iterating through the visual tree of your Frame, but that doesn't seem to work well in the XAML Hub Section. Instead, implement a SelectionChanged event in your GridView. When this is triggered, it will send details of the GridView sender, which can then be referenced for additional information such as .SelectedItem. private void GridViewName_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { var GridState = sender as GridView; if(GridState.SelectedItems.Count>0) { // Do something } }

Setting ImageView to selected GridView image not working
By doing currentImage_ = (ImageView) imageAdapter_.getView(position, view, parent); you are overriding what currentImage_ is. I guess it is supposed to point to the imageview you have in your layout. Your app is not crashing just because the elements of the gridview are imageviews as well. currentImage_ should always point to the detail ImageView and you should only change its content by doing currentImage_.setImageResource(imageAdapter_.getSelectedImage()[position]); In short, remove the previous line.
