Actually, the URL Length limit for mailto: URLs is 512 bytes. No, there's no workaround for this; if you want to send a longer message from the client, you'd need to use an ActiveX control and have it call the Mail API (MAPI) directly.

Open SSRS URL in New Window
For the record, the problem with your original syntax was that you were trying to go from referencing an SSRS field to entering a string without separating the two properly. If you wanted your previous syntax to work (without removing the target window's name (i.e., '_blank'), you would do it like this: ="javascript:void(window.open('https://na5.salesforce.com/" & Fields!id.Value & "','_blank'))" I struggled with this for a long time, but you can make these pretty complex as long as you're careful to put everything together correctly. You can also add multiple javascript commands (but no functions) in the same action expression. Below is one of my most complicated SSRS Go-to-URL Action commands: ="Javascript:" & IIF(left(Fields!Name.Value,11)="RESTRICTED-", "a

How to open Google Maps links in a pop up window?
Both of those links have target="_blank" on them, so normally they should open in a new window automatically. For example the Google Maps link looks like this: <a target="_blank" href="http://maps.google.com/maps?..." title="Click to see this area on Google Maps" style="position: static; overflow: visible; float: none; display: inline;" > <div ...> <img ...> </div> </a> But it looks like PhoneGap is overriding that behavior as you mentioned in the comment. In fact if you search for: phonegap target _blank you will find quite a bit on the topic, in particular this discussion and this issue. It looks like they want people to use PhoneGap's InAppBrowser, but it appears to be tied specifically into the window.open() function. So you

SSRS or SQL Numbers Rounding/Truncating In SSRS Report
OR here is a bitwise operator So 2252.2800 OR 0 gives 2252 because of some type casting. Personally, I've never bitwised numeric numbers so don't know how it works Why use OR anyway: it makes no sense with Iifat all. What are you really try to do? Nested Iif like this? =IIf( Fields!SelQty.Value=1, Fields!EstPrice1.Value * Fields!Qty1.Value, IIf( Fields!SelQty.Value=2, Fields!EstPrice2.Value * Fields!Qty2.Value, 0 ) )

In SSRS, how do I compare a value of a parent report item with report items in a child group?
If I understand your question correctly, then I think you can use =IIF(MAX(ReportItems!Invoice_DueDate.Value) > ReportItems!Limit.Value,"Red","Black") You need some sort of aggregate function, such as MAX() to tell SSRS what the scope and operation of what should be done. (For example if you wanted to make sure the total didn't exceed the limit, you would use SUM(...)

How can I execute an .rdl report with a Report Viewer control and without an SSRS server?
No, you will need an SSRS Server to do what you are trying to do, unless you use RDLC files. You could get very creative and parse the RDL xml for the datasources yourself and perform the actions, but that is basically doing the same thing as RDLC.

How can one run an SSRS report using a set of data which is defined prior to the report being opened?
Why don't you create Report table that would have two columns PersonID and ReportID. Whenever the user selects a list of persons, you insert their ID's on this table and generate a new ReportID and on your report your query will need to do an Inner Join against this table. (essentially the same that you described but less hacky) and if besides the list of people you need other details (such as which fields to show) you can use the same approach. Another alternative is, since you're using a .Net app you can pass all the personIDs to the parameter list (create a multi-value parameter on your report) and SSRS will be able to deal with it.

SSRS Call a second report with params in current report
SSRS offer drillthrough reports, which sound like what you're after. Drillthrough Reports A drillthrough report is a report that a user opens by clicking a link within another report. To set one up, right click on a report element and set Action -> Go To Report and set it to the required drillthrough report. You can set up the drillthrough report to accept parameters or fields from a Dataset in the parent report as required.

forcing ssl for all embedded links using htaccess to tackle insecure content
Rewrite rules (which are in in fact redirections, when it's about HTTP to HTTPS) won't help, since by the time the initial plain HTTP request reaches the server, it's too late. It's the links on the page you serve that must be addressed. This is generally up to the application (e.g. your PHP/CGI applcation) running on the server, not up to the server itself. The server would need to be able to process the content of the responses it sends to replace these links, not just redirect the requests (like mod_rewrite does). mod_proxy_html (distributed with Apache 2.4 or separately in earlier versions) is a module that can to in-depth processing of the response, but I'm not sure whether it can be used as a post-processing tool for PHP running on the same server, to rewrite the links it sends. Of

If you want a very simple way to do something after that window loads, you can listen to DOMContentLoaded event and then check if you are on the desired page, like so: window.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function() { if (gBrowser.currentURI.spec.indexOf(URL_OF_SPECIFIC_WINDOW_YOU_WANT) != -1) { // Do your processing here } }, false); I'm doing the indexOf instead of == so you can put just some part of the page url in there and it will work.

Does SSRS Report server run on top of IIS?
Microsoft severed the IIS dependency for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in the 2008 version, everything is set up from the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. With regards to public access to the reports, there may be some security aspects that should be considered before allowing this. Here is a good article which talks you through the process of granting anonymous access: http://talksql.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/setting-up-anonymous-access-for.html In terms of the Report Viewer's role, see this question for further reading: How does Report Viewer communicate with SSRS?

How can I get a report URL via the SSRS Web Service?
There are a few things to think of about HOW SSRS works and HOW MUCH TIME you want to invest in monkeying with it. I. You can traverse the root but I highly doubt you meant that. From the root you can add items whether they are directories or reports. And to add to that you can add the parameter directly to the Rest URI to render a report and you may also output a value as well. For example: Main part of address root: http:// <server>/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx? path to directory: %2fTest path to report (labeled it the same name lol) %2fTest what to do with it? (render it) &rs:Command=Render Put a paremeter in and execute it as well (Yes I called my parameter Test too!) &Test=Value Put it all together: http:// <servername>/ReportServer/Pa

SSRS Report Viewer for iPad
You can view SSRS's web service via a 'form' in HTML. You tie the form's action to get it and then you may even set up other options as well in the form. There may be ways to use client side scripting as well but I have not attempted those. I do however know this works. <form id="frmRender" action="http:// (servername)/(pathtoreport)" method="post" target="_self"> <H3>My Report Title</H3> Render in the following format:<br/> <Select ID="rs:Format" Name="rs.Format" size=1> <Option Value="HTML4.0">HTML 4.0</Option> <Option Value="IMAGE">TIFF IMAGE</Option> </Select> </form> Generally the roof of an SSRS service to a report is typically http:// (servername)/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2f(directoryName)%2f(repo

Labels in fields within an SSRS report
You should be using a type other than tablix for your report. Use a 'List' instead and you can free float objects as you need them and also nest a tablix as well. A little explanation on list: You can float images with text boxes and then even change syntax or draw boxes around them and decorate those. The call out for a field in SSRS is [(value)] with the [] meaning: "Data Column in recognized Dataset" You can call out Variables with an '@' in front of them [@Test] would be a variable a user would put in called 'Test'. Whatever size 'List' element is will determine how large it is when it repeats. If you want a strict form ensure the length and width are set correctly on the properties of that element. If you want it to break every page you can click on the 'List' > Right Click the

what runs the subscribed report in SSRS?
Short answer, these subscriptions are run as database jobs through the SQL Server Agent. They are created with GUID type names: The one job step will have a command like: exec [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='SharedSchedule', @EventData='8df4ff30-97d3-41f7-b3ef-9ce48bfdfbfa' You can trace these jobs/GUIDs back to the subscription and report through the ReportServer database using the Subscriptions table and its MatchData column (matches the job GUID) and the Catalog table which includes the report data (i.e. linked through the Subscriptions.Report_OID column. You can use this information to check what's scheduled and based on this schedule your update appropriately. I haven't tried it myself, but one option could even be to hook into the existing database jobs, but I would

Add alphabetical navigation to top of SSRS report
Use a document map with an expression that gets the first character value for the document map label. This doesn't exactly meet your layout requirement of being on the top of the report, but uses out of the box functionality and is easy to maintain. It also works for Excel and PDF export. Start off with a basic dataset: select 'Apple' as Fruit union select 'Banana' union select 'Blueberry' union select 'Cantaloupe' union select 'Coconut' union select 'Raspberry' union select 'Watermelon'; Create a parent group on the first character of the string: Define page break between each instance of the group: Setup the document map for the parent group.
