Why is facebook api asking this message on login with facebook for authorised users - "Application name" would like to access your friend list.?
The Facebook app authorization screen says that the app would like to access your friend’s list. But in truth, the app probably didn’t ask for that. The friends list is part of every app authorization, whether the app wants it or not. This is because Facebook wants apps to add social context, which can only be done with the friends list. But this doesn’t give the app the ability to contact your friends on your behalf, at least not more than it could do so without you adding the app anyway. Facebook login fragment closes application, using Facebook SDK 3.0.1
After spending a day on this issue I have found the reason: my activity had android:noHistory="true" in the manifest which prevented Facebook SDK from launching my activity when the session was opened. Whew!!

not able to post on facebook from my iOS application when facebook application is already installed on device
I found the solution The delegate method in Facebook.m (void)authorizeWithFBAppAuth:(BOOL)tryFBAppAuth safariAuth:(BOOL)trySafariAuth contains a Bool didOpenOtherApp which indicates whether the facebook app should be opened or not didOpenOtherApp = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:fbAppUrl]]; if false , the facebook api will always open inside your application. I have commented the code so that the bool will always have value false

Login to facebook in a as3 application
I wouldn't go near Adobe's swc for Facebook Adobe doesn't maintain it, and since it simply maps the JS API and call it via ExternalInterface, you are better off implementing FB calls in your HTML in JS and call them yourself from AS3 via ExternalInterface.This ensures you will be using the latest JS API and not have a broken code everytime Facebook changes something.When Facebook changes something in their API you can update your JS code rather then be left helpless hoping that Adobe would allocate resources to update the Facebook swc.In short, using the native JS API is smoother. Good Luck!

Facebook login not working with signed application
The only thing you are changing iz application signature, so it's obvious that there is something with hash. Facebook gives wrong method for hash calculating on their pages. Today I had that problem too - this solution: Generating hash key for app using facebook sdk works ok for me.

Facebook Login: It doesn't redirect to the Facebook app installed?
Use latest facebook SDK. Please also check that in your facebook sdk there is one java file with name Facebook.java Just check authorize function in that class. It should be like below: public void authorize(Activity activity, String[] permissions, int activityCode, final DialogListener listener) { boolean singleSignOnStarted = false; mAuthDialogListener = listener; //THIS CODE IS EDITED BY SHREYASH FOR NOT ALLOW THE DEFAULT FACEBOOK APP // Prefer single sign-on, where available. if (activityCode >= 0) { singleSignOnStarted = startSingleSignOn(activity, mAppId, permissions, activityCode); } // Otherwise fall back to traditional dialog. if (!singleSignOnStarted) { startDialogAuth(activity, permissions); }

Facebook login in my application is no longer working after exporting it
After some time I finally solved this problem by generating a new key hash. It was probably my 5th key hash and at least several of them were generated using a keystore that is different than debug.keystore. But this time I used a bit different method and different key hash was formed. The method I used is discribed in there: Signed APK has different Key-Hash for Facebook

Haskell standalone desktop application authentication (using google / facebook / twitter / etc accounts)
Original answer OpenID works by sending the user to its provider's website and then redirecting it back to the "relying" website (cf OpenID spec). This process requires a web browser, so you either have to integrate one into your application or open one up. In the latter case you also need a way to get the result of the authentication process, either by asking the user to copy-paste it or by running a web server on localhost. Second answer after question update The authentication mechanism should work in standalone application on all major platforms (Linux, Windows, Darwin) The authentication mechanism should work with application without gui. Without a GUI, the best solution probably is to just prompt the user for his password. OpenID and OAuth 1.0 don't support this use

You should be getting an error back if the user has removed your app. See this doc on how to properly handle the different types of errors. You can also reference the Scrumptious sample application that's shipped with the SDK, which demonstrates the techniques outlined in the above doc, specifically the handleError() method in the SelectionFragment class.

How to access images that already uploaded through our own facebook application using facebook php SDK?
I do not believe that there is a way to do exactly what you are asking. The correct method would be to record all of the images that were uploaded (at the time they were uploaded) and storing their ID's in a database of sorts. Facebook doesn't really allow users to mine data - as you are requesting. Users are are an entity in and within itself - the fact that the image was uploaded via your application doesn't really come into play here. Once the image has been uploaded it belongs to the user and not to your application. Perhaps if your images were all uploaded to an album created by your application you'll be able to just request the contents of that album - but if the users have since moved the image to a different album - you won't be able to see that it has been moved.

Authentication using Tomcat realm or Facebook login
One option could be to use a Combined Realm: See http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/realm-howto.html#CombinedRealm Realm 1 should be JDBCRealm, then implement realm 2 (FacebookRealm). You might change the order, based on which one is the most frequently used. See Tomcat docs for how to implement a realm. Of course you don't have a password in FacebookRealm, but you could do the following trick: JDBCRealm: username = username/userId in your application password = password FacebookRealm: username = username/userId in your application password = unique user id provided by Facebook This could allow users to log in with whatever method they want. Basically, this could be a possible use case for logging in through FacebookRealm (first steps might be a little bit different with JS SDK, b

If you want to login the user everytime he visits the app, you should implement FB.logout, when you get the status as connected on getLoginStatus() when the app starts. So the session when be destroyed and then you can call FB.login again. Just like- // app starts here FB.getLoginStatus() { if(status == "connected") // call FB.logout() // call FB.login() else // call FB.login() }

How to deal with 2-step authentication for Facebook on Spotify login?
I think if you try to login 3 or 4 times, then facebook very helpfully gives you an "account alert" on their website and lets you verify that you were actually trying to login and then it should work. I'm not sure about the better way to do this. Two factor auth still trips up even many of google's login mechanisms that don't even involve oauth.

This is just used to lock down the domains and sub-domains which can be used to perform Facebook Login on behalf of your app.

Codeigniter, Facebook and Facebook's login "code" query variable
You can remove the query string with .htaccess. Not sure if it will work, but it should if the function does an actual redirect i.e. the login process is sending the user to http://appdomain.com/users/login/?code=dsfeoilkjd983274893hflksdfhhewhkdsiue8... which seems to be the case. This .htaccess will (in addition to removing index.php) strip the query string and send the url http://appdomain.com/users/login/?code=dsfeoilkjd983274893 to http://appdomain.com/users/login/: RewriteCond $1 !^(index.php|images|robots.txt) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !="" RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1? How to recognize returning Facebook User using the Facebook Login Widget
I have been working on a similar application which uses either Facebook (OAuth), Google (OpenId) or a manual registration login approach. My prefered solution was to ask the user for their email address, you will need to request extended permissions on the email field from Facebook as it is not offered up by default. http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/permissions My table structure looks like this. User Id (int) Email (nvarchar(256)) FacebookToken (nvarchar(256)) GoogleToken (nvarchar(256)) The advantage to this method is you are able to link up your users to the right account if you decide later to add another authentication / identification service or roll your own. It won;t matter if they login to FB, Google or Twitter - you always know whcih account t

Can i get facebook friend list without login on facebook
I believe you cannot get any data without access token and to get access token you need to login. Therefore, you still need to login. In short, it is not possible. This is from Access Tokens - Facebook Developer An access token is a random string that identifies a User, App or Page session and provides information about granted permissions. Access tokens are obtained via a number of methods, each of which are covered later in this document. The token also includes information about when the token will expire and which app generated the token. Because of privacy checks, the majority of API calls on Facebook need to include an access token. There are different types of access tokens to support these various cases: User Access Token – This kind of access token i
