how to check for an existing data in sqlite database in ios
You have to query the input data entered by user and check whether it is present or not, like fire the query select count() from category where categoryName='usertext' obviously you know where to check the data that is name of table(category in my case i.e. in above query) and column name(categoryName). If count is more than zero, data is exist, you can alert user else not exist.

Add sqllite column to an existing database or have database re-index upon delete
According to SQLite's manual here you can re-index your auto id field by deleting its entry in the sqlite_sequence table like this: delete from sqlite_sequence where name='<Your Table Name Here>'; I haven't done this myself but it should work. Edit It is not clear in the SQLite's manual that the entry of your table will be re-created whenever a new insertion happens, however it clearly states that you can update the sqlite_sequence. So if the deletion doesn't solve your problem you can try to update the index like this: update sqlite_sequence set seq = 0 where name='<Your Table Name Here>'; Hope this helps...

No, it checks everything in database. Cookies would be too dangerous (users can modify their rights) You can cache data with Cache class in Laravel 4 to compensate too many queries to your database.

Check for new/existing values and update in sql
You can create a stored procedure and use merge to insert or update as necessary like the example below DECLARE @nameField VarChar(50) = 'some data' MERGE dbo.MyTable t USING (SELECT @nameField [field]) s ON t.myData = s.field WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE SET t.myData = @nameField WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT (myData) VALUES (@nameField); If you want to limit redundant updates, e.g. if updating Project Column with the exact same data and block such updates, then you'll need to create an update trigger to check and block the update.

how to check the google map api to know the place is existing one
A typical scenario for using geocoding will be when you know that the address exists and you want to get the location coordinates, maybe to mark on a map. When you search an address in google geocoding api, it will find exact matches and also partial matches to correct for cases like spelling mistakes or multiple spellings in use. Due to partial match, when you search for a word, words close to that in terms of the letters used and the number of letters present will also be found. You can explore 2 options to refine the results: 1, If you want to avoid partial matches , you can try component filtering , where you specify filters on components like locality, country , etc and only exact matches will be returned. 2, You can process the json result in your code by retreiving different comp

How to check existing session is invalidated or not?
Try passing false as the parameter to the getSession(boolean) . This will give back a session if it exists or else it will return null. HttpSession session = request.getSession(false); if(session==null || !request.isRequestedSessionIdValid() ) { //comes here when session is invalid. } Returns the current HttpSession associated with this request or, if there is no current session and create is true, returns a new session. If create is false and the request has no valid HttpSession, this method returns null.

MSBuild: How can I check are the files existing?
I think you can check this with the Condition and an ItemGroup declaration as below: <Target Name="Resources"> <ItemGroup> <PackageFiles Include="$(MSBuildProjectDirectory) esources***.*;"/> </ItemGroup> <GenerateResource Condition="Exists('%(PackageFiles.FullPath)')" Sources="@(PackageFiles)"> <Output TaskParameter="OutputResources" ItemName="Resources"/> </GenerateResource> </Target> Probably you may need some customizations in the Output tag as per your requirement.

Message passing - compiler won't check whether method is existing?
Chances are you use ARC. For compiling ARC-enabled code, the compiler needs to know what type of objects a method expects as arguments and returns as its return value in order to be able to emit the necessary calls to memory management methods. So, when you are compiling ARC code, the compiler will check if a method signature exists. If you, however, use manual reference counting (MRC), then the compiler doesn't need this information for this purpose (some of it is still necessary for generating code comformant to the ABI), and it doesn't issue an error if it can't find a certain message/method/selector. It does, however, emit a warning for safety.

How to check existing of very big file without headers on remote server
To check the if file exists on server you should use php built in function file_exists() However if file is larger than 2 gB there can be problems. From php.net Because PHP's integer type is signed and many platforms use 32bit integers, some filesystem functions may return unexpected results for files which are larger than 2GB. You can try compile php with large file support and then use fgets() to get only few bytes to check if file exists. If it doesn't work you can use external application and shell_exec() this application will get 2 params one is path to file and it will return 0 if file doesn't exists or 1 if it exists. The link to program in c++ that checks if file exists you can simply modify it to print 1 or 0 Hope it'll help you.

check the exit code inside a if statement before existing script
Did you mean this? sendmail $myemail || exit # will exit if sendmail exit status is non-zero Most probably you want to quote $myemail like so: sendmail "$myemail". This will prevent bash globbing from screwing your emails. As you can see, you can use && to check for zero exit codes and || for non-zero. Also you can write short if statements using && || trick: [[ 'hello' == 'world' ]] && echo yes || echo no If you want to negate a condition, use ! Like this: if [ firstcondition ] && ! [ secondcondition ]; then which means '' If first condition is true AND second condition is NOT true ''

Doh, of course I figured it out soon after posting. This still may be a useful question for other people since I didn't find relevant google hits: It appears that if the --force argument should be given to R CMD build (not INSTALL or check) forcing the INDEX file to be deleted and regenerated. Also found the R function that generates the INDEX file: tools::Rdindex("man/",outFile="INDEX")

How to use Django with existing database?
If you're not using the development version, don't read the docs for that version. All they say is that - new in that version only - models created via inspectdb will by default be marked as managed = False, which means that they can't be modified. But the docs go on to describe exactly how you can modify them, simply by changing that setting. But of course, you should be using the latest stable version, 1.5, which doesn't do that anyway. You can add and edit items in models from a legacy db to your heart's content.

connect to existing database in laravel 4
You would have to create models for each table. If the table name is plural, it would be best to use it's singular name as the class name for the model. For cases where that doesn't work (where the name may not be plural or ends in something like 'ies' that may confuse Laravel), just set the property protected $table = 'tablename'; to coincide with the table you wish to create a model for. After that, follow the documention on Eloquent for setting up any relationships you may need to make. It may be possible, and probably a good idea, to make migrations for each of the tables, though that may be quite time consuming. You'd have to make each migration file as well as fill out the migrations table Laravel uses by hand.

Unable to run EF5 migration with existing database
Ran Enable-Migrations. Had a bit of trouble due to connection strings and which app.config was getting used, but eventually got it. However, this MSDN page says that this should have automatically generated the first migration to get me to the point I'm already at. It didn't. Ran Add-Migration InitialSchema to accomplish what wasn't automatically done in step 1. This worked. In fact the enable-migrations command creates an initial migration only if your database has already been created with Code-First before in which case the database contains a __MigrationHistory table. If this table does not exist (which is the case when you have an existing database that never has been created before with Code-First) enable-migrations only creates the Configuration class. You have to

Using sails.js with an existing postgres database
I am the author of Sails-Postgresql. Sails has an ORM called Waterline that it uses for managing data. The default setting assumes that you would want to auto-migrate your database to match your model attributes. Because Postgresql is a SQL database the Sails-Postgresql adapter has a setting called syncable that defaults to true. This would be false in a NoSQL database like redis. This is easy to turn off if you want to manage your database columns yourself. You can add migrate: safe to your model and it won't try and update your database schema when you start Sails. module.exports = { adapter: 'postgresql', migrate: 'safe', attributes: { title: { type: 'string' } } }; Sails doesn't have anything like migrations in Rails. It uses auto-migrations to attempt to remove this fr
