Connecting GitLab to a purchased domain name
So, I have figured it out. On godaddy.com, I had to change the host. Go to your domain details page, and you will need to edit the host. At the top of the zone file, you will find a box that has, at the top, "A (Host)." You will need to edit this. There should already be a line that has an "@" symbol. Leave the symbol, and change the "Points To" column. If your server has a static IP, put it in here. If your server doesn't have a static IP, I recommend you get one. Next, you need to add the nameserver. That's it! Relatively simple, but just hard to discover. Hope I save some people some frustration. -Hunter A.

Connecting to root domain - AWS Route 53 EC2
AFAIK you can not create an A record at the zone apex, only an AWS-specific Alias type. The Alias can refer to an ELB, S3 website, CloudFront distribution or another Route 53 record set. You have a couple of options: a) put your instance behind an ELB, and create example.com as an Alias record pointing to your ELB. Or, b) Create example.com as an Alias which points to the www.example.com CNAME.

Connecting XAMPP to a domain and adding files
XAMPP is software bundle containing cross OS solutions (X) for webserver Apache (A), MySQL database (M), and server-side language PHP (P) and Perl (P). If you got a domain you need to redirect it to IP on which this XAMPP server works. To do it call/mail your domain registrator (a company that sold you a domain) and ask about it. It involves DNS (Domain Name Server) configuration - ask them how to change DNS to direct it to your XAMPP server. PS To add files go to htdocs direcotry in your XAMPP instalation or whatever you defined to store files (and websites) and drop your files in there. As I can see you are not experienced in that kind of things so maybe ask company that sold you a domain name about "shared hosting"? It's preconfigured ready to go server where you send files over FTP

Connecting to a Remote Server on a different domain -- how do I enter the username and password?
According to Microsoft it should be possible. You need to authenticate against the remote domain, though, e.g. like this: computer = "..." username = "OTHERDOMAINuser" password = "..." Set locator = CreateObject("WbemScripting.SWbemLocator") Set wmi = locator.ConnectServer(computer, "rootcimv2", username, password) wmi.Security_.ImpersonationLevel = 3

Can I use the Integrated Security option in a connection string if I'm connecting to a remote machine that's not on a domain?
Integrated security will only work when the machines are on the same domain (or a different domain with a trust) this is because SQL server has to contact a domain controller to authenticate a windows logon, which it can only do if it is a member of a domain. Just being connected to the LAN is not enough as although the machine may be able to physically connect to the domain controller, it will not be able to authenticate users against it.

Cross domain error even when ajax called made from same domain
Have you tried setting alternate HTTP header values when your service returns data: Access-Control-Allow-Origin:* Access-Control-Allow-Headers:"Content-Type, X-Requested-With, X-Auth-Token" This worked for us when trying to make REST calls to services under different sub-domains. You don't have to make Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * you can probably be more restrictive. But we tried this just to check if it will work. Just to clarify - we still use json and not jsonp

Trouble Connecting to sql server Login failed. "The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication"
Why not use a SQL Server account and pass both the user name and password? Here is the reason why. In short, it looks like you have an authentication issue. The problem with workgroups is there is no common Access Control List like Active Directory (AD). If you are using ODBC or JDBC, the wrong credentials are passed. Even if you create a local windows account (LWA) on the machine (SE) that has SQL Express installed (SELWA), the credentials that will be passed from your client machine (CM) will be CMLWA.

Error: Bad value twitter:domain for attribute name on element meta: Keyword twitter:domain is not registered
If you are using HTML5, you may only use values listed in the specification and in the WHATWG wiki page "MetaExtensions" (see also this answer). As twitter:domain is registered in the wiki, it’s valid to use it. So the validator is not up to date.

error: stray ‘302’ in program error while connecting mysql from c++
Somewhere on line 65 and 69 you have some odd characters They might be invisible charcters, so in the general case when you encounter this error, just delete the entire line, and type it again. In this case you have some odd characters here: cout << "(" << __FUNCTION__ << ") on line " » ^^ What's this ? You should probably delete that, and same a few lines further down.

Go to the server with the sql server instance, and enter the SQL Server Configuration Manager. Check the settings and especially that TCP IP is enabled. If not, enable it and restart the SQL Server service. It is also possible that the Named Pipes setting being disabled may be causing this. Sorry just reread your question, I didnt see the bit where you checked TCP! ignore the previous comment

Well, if you said you had a successful insert previously, it means the connection string works fine. The only issue I can see here is your server is no longer running. Cloudshare suspends the server every 60 mins (can be extended to 180), and your error message sounds exactly that.

event.target.content.loaderInfo gives error if I am accessing image from external domain(SecurityError: Error #2123)
There isn't http://www.esnipe.com/crossdomain.xml file that grants the access to the loaded content. There is workaround for accessing loaded image bitmapData (Loading Profile Images on VK.com in ActionScript) but looking on your code you just need to remember the url of loaded image. Try to store it somewhere, for example in local variable or extend the flash Loader by your custom loader class and store the last loaded URLRequest object in it. Example: public class LoaderExt extends Loader { private var _request:URLRequest; public function get url():String{return _request ? _request.url : null} public function LoaderExt() { super(); } override public function load(request:URLRequest, context:LoaderContext=null):void { _request = request;

Error connecting to server in a file
This line: inet_aton(h->h_addr_list[0],&indirizzo_server); is wrong. h_addr_list is not a list of strings in the format that inet_aton expects. It's not even a list of strings at all. It's a list of addresses ready to be copied directly into the appropriate field of the struct sockaddr_*. The char **h_addr_list in struct hostent should be treated as void **, which is what it would be if it hadn't been designed before ANSI C gave us void. A generic pointer is used because gethostby* supports (at least theoretically) arbitrary address families. In the case of h_addrtype==AF_INET, each h_addr_list[n] is a pointer to a struct in_addr, so you can just say indirizzo_server = *(struct in_addr *)h_addr_list[0]; and all will be well.

ODBC Connecting to SQL Database in PHP Error
My thought would be that the ODBC DSN "Vertices" is setup incorrectly on the machine itself. My suggestion would be to try a code similar to: $conn = odbc_connect("Driver={SQL Server Native Client 10.0};Server=YOURSERVERDatabase=DATABASE", 'correctusername','correctpassword'); $query = odbc_exec($conn,"SELECT * FROM tblOrder ...") or die (odbc_errormsg()); Other connection strings, if the above fails, can be found at http://www.connectionstrings.com/sql-server/ My other thought that the user permissions inside the database are not correctly setup to allow correctusername to access the database

Twitter message posting issue ( Request failed with error: Error Domain=HTTP Code=410 "The operation couldn’t be completed. in ios app
It's not clear if you are using the iOS Twitter functionality, or another framework (but the oAuth makes me think it's another framework). The Twitter V1 API has been deprecated and retired. You should now use the 1.1 version: https://dev.twitter.com/blog/api-v1-is-retired This means the URI should have 1.1 in it, as opposed to just "1". https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1 I would try updating the framework you are using, or perhaps switching to the built in Twitter functionality, which streamlines the authentication process if the user has a Twitter account on their phone.

Error when connecting to database in unit test
This might not be an answer/solution to your actual problem, but a good tip in general. I strongly recommend not hitting the DB in every unit test, the same applies to the file system and other slow IO operations. Use a simple pattern like the Repository Pattern to abstract away the data access. You can then either implement a fake repository (i.e. backed by a List<T>) or use a mocking framework like moq to setup a mocked repository. By doing this, your tests will run completely in-memory and thus run much faster. You also don't need to care about connection strings and that you always have access to the database.

Why am I getting a 404 error when connecting to a specific webpage using Jsoup?
The server is returning a 404. $ curl -I http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-2/ico HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Server: Apache X-Varnish: 868026494 Date: Tue, 10 Sep 2013 15:26:21 GMT Connection: keep-alive The fact that it also returns non-404-looking content doesn't affect Jsoup; it's just looking at the code the server gives in the HTTP-header. Welcome to the craptastic "how does anything work?!" world of the internets. :) Interestingly, curl -I http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-2/SDKFJSDF returns an HTTP-header code of 200 OK yet displays a page whose content says 404. Did I mention the internets is full of crap? You can ignore these errors by invoking ignoreHttpErrors(true) on the Connection.Request object.
